The most horrible customer support and the longest wait times I have ever experienced. I purchased an LLC package with all the bells and whistles to include expedited processing. After two months of waiting, broken promises from customer support ("It will be finished today, we are so sorry for the wait..."), many unanswered questions, no contact, hours on the phone and in chat rooms, and a refusal to refund services not rendered, I cannot recommend LegalZoom.

For over a year I have been waiting for my divorce. I was just notified that it's to complicated for them cuz we have children together but haven't gone to court for custody! This has been a HUGE waste of time! Over a year and now I'm right back where I started from! Way to go legal zoom!

Although I used Legal Zoom to create my first business, this second time around is a nightmare. It has been over a year and its they labeled my character of business "Any Legal Purpose" I am in real estate have been in real estate through the whole process. To fix their mistake I have to call the IRS (and its that easy right?)

Submitted to Legal Zoom on 14 November. 19 December Legal Zoom tells me they delivered it to the state on 8 December. WTF? I mean like really. More truth, I called the state and found out the llc paperwork was not even dropped off till 13 December. Someone has lied, not good business.

I ordered a simple LLC in September 2016. I was currently a sole proprietor. They misfiled my paperwork under a different LLC name (not sure how that could happen). It took 4 months for them to correct the error! I received an email stating everything had been submitted to my state and the IRS. Here it is March 2017, my state has received the notice and everything looks great. The IRS has never been notified. I just got off the phone with LegalZoom and they claim they never mailed it to the IRS, just my state! If they are this incompetent with an LLC I would hate to use them for anything even remotely complex!

I pay 689.00 for a packaged deal that says a registered agent is included and then I get charged 249.00 for a registered agent and told I didn't pay for it so why do I think it's included, because it says the word included in the receipt for 689.00. They will manipulate people to get more money and charge your credit card without your approval. Because they tried charging mine when I only approved 689.00 packaged deal and then they tried to tack on 280.00 in membership fees. When I tried to question them conveniently for them the call kept on failing.

Tip for consumers:
Don’t sign up. Contact your Secretary of State and save yourself the headache. Oh and save a ton of money.

We used legal zoom to set up our business and they continued to charge for service after canceled. And then charged a fee and made us believe that we had to keep there service by only explaining a part of the law.

Never sign up on auto pay with this company, they will never let you know what's going on and just keep charging your account. You can do everything they say they can do buy yourself, with less cost and headaches.

They sold me QuickBooks essentials which said that it came with payroll for 55 a month then they never set up payroll or allowed access for me to set up. Then to get in contact with them you get put on a 3 week wait just to talk to someone. They finally called after 3 weeks and told me that payroll was actually extra and it would be 109 dollars a month. When I go to QuickBooks online they have a deal for 37 dollars a month which includes payroll and even have cheaper options then that. Then I also paid for legal advisory again you have to schedule a call 3 weeks in advance. Not sure how much help that is if you have an issue that needs resolved right away. They don't respond to emails either.
Terrible money skeme. Itd be different if they were actually helpful in setting all this up but given the time you have to wait to talk to anyone idk what your paying for you might as well do it yourself.

Tip for consumers:
That I wasnt paying for help. they are just trying to sell you products not actual advise or services.

I hired Legal Zoom to file articles of Incorporation in the State of South Carolina. This can be done online the same day, yet after almost 30 days, I am still in "delayed" status despite having provided all necessary and required information.

I suspect legal zoom does not have a licensed SC attorney to sign off on the corporation paperwork, yet they are taking money and claiming they can perform these legal services. I have had no communication from Legal Zoom now that they have my money, and due to the delay, my client is angry with me.

Stay away from Legal Zoom, as they are not ethical in their business dealings. I am filing complaints with the SC Bar Association so they can investigate to see if Legal Zoom is, in fact licensed to perform the services they claim they can handle.

I seriously don't understand how so many people can be so stupid. Genuinely don't understand how every I call customer service to get a simple issue resolved, it turns into a 3 hour nightmare where every representative tells you something different. Seriously the most incompetent people I have ever spoken with. Save yourself some time and don't use legal zoom, it suppose to be fast and easy, but I have used them to open 3 different LLCs, and Legal Zoom has been anything but fast and easy.

I called Legal Zoom and requested to change my sole proprietor to a PLLC. I specifically stated I do not want a new EIN requested. The sales rep told me that would be no problem at all & he would refund that fee.

Then, I called back to confirm some information & the other individual confirmed that a new EIN would not be requested.

However, they requested a new EIN. I have spent 2 hours on the phone with Legal Zoom requesting guidance and assistance and they're unable/unwilling to answer my questions or provide any guidance on resolving this issue. I paid extra to expedite formation of the LLC and am left spending hour and hours & money trying to get an answer.

Do not waste your money on this service. It's easier to fill the forms out yourself and you know as much as they do as the individuals at Legal Zoom are unable to answer any follow up questions.

They are not a good service. Will lock you into fees and reoccurring payments then tell you to pay them again to change any paperwork or file anything else. Terrible customer service. Not a good company. They will authorize payments on their own behalf without your consent.

This is a perfect example of what is wrong. No one in Legal Zoom has any idea what is going on. I have sent about 6 complaints and no one even knows or cares what time it is, or what day it is, or what is failing. "Just keep sending E-mails"

NEVER use legal zoom, they are a bunch of scammers. Without my consent, they signed me up for a recurring charge of $15/month and a recurring charge of $320/year, and you can't cancel the order on their website, you need to call them on their customer support and sit and wait for an hour, which will cost me a fortune because I don't live in the US. Feels like I've been $#*!ing robbed, I never wright reviews but legal zoom is so $#*!ing bad that I had to.

I was incorporated in 2009 for a fee of $936.41 by Legal Zoom. I paid for Legal Zoom to be my RA for the past 4 years, another $159.00 each year. This year my credit card that I used to originally make the purchase was charged another $936.41 without my authorization. I have since been in touch with both the credit card company and Legal Zoom. The credit card company is investigating and the supervisor at Legal Zoom is telling me in fact my card should not have been charged without my knowledge. If my card is not credited I am seeking legal council about my next steps, and it is not with Legal Zoom.

PLEASE STAY AWAY! Use a lawyer.

I tried to set up a company, just to experiment. I never set it up, did not set up a tax id. However, legalzoom kept charging me monthly for some form services, and also charged me for registered agent services. I called to cancel, they did not cancel. I had to call my bank to stop payment.

Now, for the company that is not even operating, Legalzoom has sent me a letter (third n notice) saying I am in collection. For what?

PLEASE STAY AWAY!

No customer service after initial order. Have tried for week to reach proper customer service group to purchase added services. Typically get disconnected or transferred to wrong group. Twice used call back system to not have to wait on hold. When call back came, was placed on hold. Unbelievable if it hadn't happened.

Spent $1400 on them 2weeks later no documents no ein number nothing everything they have said has been a lie they told me 5 times that they were going to put in for a urgent ein and on 5 different occasions 24 to 48 hours 12 days later still nothing no documents no ein they just took my money

My experience was horrible and it never really even got started! As a new business owner, I wanted to form an LLC and TRIED to call this company on 3 separate occasion to get some of my questions answered and each time, I was on hold for over 50 minutes... 50 minutes! A potential new customer and I'm on hold for 50 minutes three times! There wasn't even a message as I was holding, thanking me for my patience and that my call would be responded to shortly. Just awful hold music, that was it!

I gave up and went to another company and the experiences was as different as night and day. My call was answered within 3 minutes and my rep was extremely helpful and even called me back with information that she needed to find an answer to. My LLC has been formed and I'm already conducting business.

They like to make like its so easy and fast quite the opposite, long complicated and no help from them at all. They charge top dollar and have the worst service i have ever seen or expirienced. STAY AWAY

We hired LegalZoom to file a trademark. From the beginning, their focus was on filing the application as quickly and easily as possible, and they used a cookie cutter approach.

They tried to talk us into trademarking the 'logo' instead of the name, because it was easier. We pushed back and went with trademarking the brand. Then, as soon as USPTO had questions about our application, they dropped us as a client, because going back and forth isn't worth it for them.

They are like the Fast Fast Food industry except it's with legal work.

Their entire business model depends on quantity, not quality.

So if you hire them, you're basically paying for free templates you can get online, and it takes more time to hire and explain to them what you need than doing it yourself. On the other hand, if what you need is more complex, then you need to hire a real attorney.

Tip for consumers:
They failed at an easy trademark application.
Do it yourself or hire a real attorney.

I placed an order with legal zoom, but Iam looking forward to cancel my service. I paid for an expedited service. After a "delay" status, I decided to call myself to the county and the state and they have no information about my case. This company provides service online, if you want a person talking to you through a YouTube video... This is for you. If you need legal advice go to a lawyer. This is not a good service. I feel like going blind with this company, not happy at all

I made the mistake of using Legal Zoom for a registered agent for my LLC. After changing to a different register agent they refused cancel the service and continued to charge me, at which point I was forced to cancel my card so they would stop automatically charging me.

In case anyone wants to know, you can in fact be your own registered agent for your LLC, which will only cost you a one time filing fee; in Tennessee the fee is $20, while LegalZoom wants to charge $249 every year.
