I used Legalzoom to start a business. My recommendation: NEVER USE THIS FIRM.

The firm continued to charge me money, long after I ceased using LegalZoom. As of this week, they are attempting charging a new credit card, never known to them, $399. This is theft, pure and simple.

My attorney was going to charge $2000 to remove my wife from our properties due to death. I thought it was too much. I made a BIG mistake. Legal Zoom uses GO Deeds located in New York. I spent over $3000. 00 and still had so many corrections! It got to a point where they just refused to help me -Matthew Miskovsky - because I made a mistake. They are awful people to work with. There seems to be a high turn over of personnel.
Regarding Legal Zoom - I got so tired of being on hold EVERY time I called. Nobody knows who's on first. They give you the run around.IT WAS ALL SO FRUSTRATING - WHAT A NIGHTMARE!

AVOID this company! After 6 months and 24 phone calls, they lied to me about canceling an old LLC. I gave this company all the documents they needed to close this LLC, and paid the State fees. Confirmed over a dozen times that they had what they needed to close the file with the State and always came back to Step #1. The left-hand does not know what the right hand is doing. Plus no refund after 120 days, which was due to their incompetence. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!

I am so distraught by the errors and delays in processing my State Articles of Incorporation that I don't trust legal Zoom to complete the 501c3 filing. It's been 8 weeks and we are now back to the point where we were 6 weeks ago due to an improperly trained customer service rep. Should have been worried when she told me she had never seen what she was dealing with before. My recommendation is DO NOT USE LEGAL ZOOM! If I had known what I know now I would have done it myself! Even with me working full time it would have been so much faster!

I became a widow a few weeks ago. I have been trying to get a change of agent on the LLC we did through legal zoom. Per my attorney they do not understand what a Trust is. You have to wait on line forever. They cannot seem to open emails even though I have cc'd my attorney and he can review what I have sent. Then they look at what you have emailed and you wait another 2 days. My husband had cancer and usually would have just gone to an attorney... he thought this would save us money. This has been going on for several weeks. I am now on hold again. I spent at least 3 hours yesterday on hold and tossed around to various people at legal zoom. USE AN ATTORNEY... IT WOULD BE FAR LESS EXPENSIVE AND LESS STRESSFUL.

Drug me around for months starting my business saying it would only take a couple of weeks. Every step in the process they made a mistake, very rude along the way. DONT DO BUSINESS HERE, the amount of stress isn't worth it

Don't do it. I'm on the phone with them right now trying to figure out why I was billed an extra $467.94 from the initial bill. We're approaching 19 minutes on a hold. This is ridiculous.

Worst experience ever! They will sit on your documents, say there are delays with your govt agencies, and give you any excuse to make you think it is not their poor service.

DO NOT trust Legal Zoom. I ONLY needed to file my LLC. Was quoted 299.99. Once billed over $700.00. Upon FIRST sight of bill demanded ALL recurring charges STOPPED. Requested over 6 times. STILL getting charges. Today prompted THIS review due to A NEW CHARGE of 21.79 from EARTH CLASS MAIL. I DO NOT NEED these services. Will unnecessarily

This is a straight BS mill, they know how to string you along. Might as well fill out all the forms yourself, because it may end up being faster or the same wait time as using this company.

Bunch of lying thieves good only at charging your credit card. Do not use them. All I wanted is to start a simple corporation and all I got was frustration.

I filled out paperwork for an LLC. A rep from LegalZoom called me (at work) and told me it HAD to be an LLP. Well, he was wrong and I lost all $700plus I paid because they would not stand behind me or what I had ordered. They said I shouldn't have changed, even tho it was their recommendation. I then had to pay them another $40 to dissolve the LLP and then went to my state website and applied for a LLC for $350.00 Much different, but my LLC cost me $1100. Just beware, they do not stand behind their product!

Advertised the product I was getting as 240$ ended up charging me 250 in hidden fees. I get hidden fees are legal but this is sneaky and obviously intentional

This was the worst experience of my life and I did it to myself, against my better judgement, all in the name of saving money. Sometimes it's worth spending more because as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. This was a nightmare, they have a million people involved and emails as a way to act as a buffer between you and an actual attorney. If you want one question answered it takes 3 days ( if that to get it call back). After this experience I think there are some industries that can not not sell services cheaply, at least for me it does not work. I ended up having to pay a real attorney, someone who I could actually speak with to find a resolution to my problem. Legal Zoom has successfully created a silly convoluted process around even getting one question answered. Something that would take 5 minutes ends up taking days, literally. This is a super cheap money grab...better off going to a small business attorney. I am so sorry I went this route, but lesson learned for sure! I would advise small business owners to pay a little more ( even f you can't really afford it) so you can get the quality service you deserve.

This review is in regards to forming a PC through the Legal Zoom company. In my experience, LZ will promise a timeline they cannot deliver on. I paid for the "express" package. They do not follow up with you. If there is an issue with your order, you will have to reach out and sit on hold to speak to someone (always a different agent) to find out what's going on. Even after multiple calls and communication, they still have no way for there to be a central person or team that deals with any specific customer, so you end up in limbo and will likely need to call over and over to find out what's the delay. In my specific case, even after paying for the expedited package, I still had to call every few days to shuffle things along because no one would follow through on the order. Essentially, I am over 30 days out and still waiting without any updates or any ability to cancel the order (which I requested due to their incompetence and they denied). In the meantime, I have sought another means to form my PC, and in my state (Maryland) this is actually a very easy process directly on the maryland.gov website that takes only a few minutes for 1/4 the cost. I would never recommend LZ as it is expensive, inconvenient, and will delay your timeline. Do a little extra research and there is likely a much easier way to execute whatever service you are looking for without using this overpriced and misleading platform.

I bought a package from them and cancelled it and they continue to take money out of my account. This company are crooks! Do not give them your cc or debit card info bc they will steal from you!

I will never work with this company again!
Hidden fees - things not well explained. Then I spoke to their customer service rep, Robert. He was RUDE and interrupted me several times.

I am a partner in a business that specializes in client experience and this company FAILS to have empathy or kindness - they are in it to MAKE MONEY - so BUYER BEWARE as I had over $500 in hidden fees coming my way.

LegalZoom ranks at bottom of all bad and regrettable business transactions I have ever made. What makes it worst is that we have a certain level of expectations with "Legal Service". Don't be fooled by the positive reviews, what is more telling is the consistent theme of the bad reviews.

After dealing with them for 4 months, I am convinced that they are nothing but a network of a borderline scammer with the sole intent of selling you worthless services. All of these free consultation "Benefits" and advice supposedly get as a part of your order are nothing but sales solicitation form their affiliates disguised as part of the price.

Their support is not any better. Not once have they ever returned a promised call where they failed to send the EIN application to IRS. I ended up getting the EIN assigned in less than 5 minutes online on the IRS site. Needless to say, nothing they provide was of any value.

Do your homework before you buy into this. Go to your local attorney, you will be much better served.

LegalZoom advertise expedited services of 7 to 10 days after charging your credit card it still would take over a month for them to process your paperwork.

Ordered a name change documents, received with numerous errors. I have to file it tomorrow. I have been on hold for 34 minutes. This service is useless.

Don't hire Legalzoom. Your dissatisfaction gets worse as they continue charging after you cancel. You'll have to cancel them at the State level. They rank in the top ten mistakes of ones life.

If I could go back I would not use Legal Zoom. You can all your Secretary of State (I am in North Carolina) to create an LLC and they will help your through it all and charge $125. Legal Zoom charges you the same $125 but also add $79 and $99 in there for "Economy LLC" and "operating agreement". THIS IS NOT NECESSARY. Then, you secretly get charged a day or two later $249 for a registered agent! YOU
CAN BE YOUR OWN REGISTERED AGENT FOR FREE (or like super cheap)! Just make sure you google your states 'Secretary of State' website and call them directly. The only thing Legal Zoom does, it RIP YOU OFF QUCIK AND GIVE YOU A LCC NAME.

Legalzoom did absolutely nothing to dissolve my non profit! In Michigan, you have to get approval from the attorney general and then file the dissolution with LARA. All of which I did on my own. Legalzoom said I needed to do that before they could move forward with the dissolution. I also started this process in September and In December I noticed my case was still not moving forward after several phone calls. It was discovered there was a glitch in their system holding up my case. I finally received the docs from Legalzoom saying the dissolution was complete but the docs they sent ARE THE DOCS I FILED WITH THE STATE! When I asked for my money back they refused. I do not recommend this service to anyone and you can be sure I will tell everyone I know to never use them!
