The most horrible customer support and the longest wait times I have ever experienced. I purchased an LLC package with all the bells and whistles to include expedited processing. After two months of waiting, broken promises from customer support ("It will be finished today, we are so sorry for the wait..."), many unanswered questions, no contact, hours on the phone and in chat rooms, and a refusal to refund services not rendered, I cannot recommend LegalZoom.

All they want is your money with nothing to give in return. How can a company that is involved with legal consultation, do illegal business conduct?! They promise you something, give you misleading information, and NEVER take accountability of their mistakes. They canceled one of my services without asking OR REFUNDING ME and got me in trouble. They promised me services and then changed the details after they go my money.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM

I purchased the package through legal zoom which included the Power of attorney, Will in Testament, and Living will along with 1 year of attorney services. I am a terminally ill cancer patient and i am trying to legally get this done as soon as possible. After completing some of the forms i noticed that what i am needing is more in depth than the forms included in this package so i called and spoke to an agent from Legal Zoom whom assured me they would refund all monies paid should this not work for me or if i am not happy for whatever reason. I have been calling and on hold for the last almost 2 hours and just keep getting transferred and unable to receive any help at all, so i decided to try that chat option again to get what was promised to me done and the chat agent is not telling me i cannot get a refund (not what i was told previously) i asked to speak to a manager and they told me none were available and i wont get a call for 48-72 hours but it was not guaranteed it would be from a manager. I have now been on hold for about 3 hours and keep getting my calls disconnected and hung up on. This company is a scam and takes peoples money and then cannot be reached after something is purchased from them. DO NOT USE THEM! Use a real attorney that won't dodge your calls, and be impossible to reach and don't offer to refund all monies and then go back on what was initially promised. As a terminally ill cancer patient it's alarming and just horrible practice on how theyre trying to take money from someone who is dying.

don't do it -save your money and get a real attorney this place is a scam and has no sympathy for terminally ill patients and take peoples money and refuse to honor their own refund policies

YOU CANT CANCEL! They lock you into a registered agent scam that they know they can Legally get away with. They charge you $249 at random SEVERAL TIMES through out the year! For a "registered agent" THAT YOUR NOT EVEN USING! I can't cancel I have tried and they make it impossible to get ahold of anyone of find any option online to cancel.

I closed my business right after it started and HAVE NEVER NEEDED TO USE ANY OF THEIR SERVICES! Yet I have been charged probably a couple thousand now.

I have explained all of this to my bank and they give me provisional credit but they take it back after a month. I'm ready to hire a lawyer just to help me figure out how to escape this trap!

Tip for consumers:
DO NOT SIGN UP FOR ANYTHING WITH THEM! ITS ALL A TRAP AND A NIGHTMARE TO ESCAPE!

To those who ever use this or have used these services please know, years later you will find out they scammed you into telling you that you owe all this amount of money for services you never authorized that they say you signed up for. They have it set up so that when you do get told that you owe all this money (when you don't actually) and you're in a panic that they will remove the threat to collections by having you pay $99 dollars! WHAT!? They will fear monger you into believing you have to pay this amount, that you agreed to this in the terms, and even if you call and cancelled prior to this like I did because I saw the fine print and what ppl had said, well too bad because they will say this never happened or that it's not on record or someone didn't do something right or will find a way to continue to tell you it was your fault. No. Horrible. Don't allow them to intimidate you. They make it so you feel you have no sense of control in the outcome and try to say did you see the "fine print" to further harm you and repeat like a broken record.

It's cruel what you're doing to people who seek your services for help. You falsify this message and then take advantage of people. If someone who creates this model of business doesn't feel shame for the harm you can cause, I can't understand how you can wake up in the morning and function or how much work you must put into your mind to numb out everything that makes someone human. This isn't something you do to people no matter what power or control you may have. I hope somehow you learn that your greed and harm is not going to get you to a better place.

Tip for consumers:
First off- don't. But if you did buy into it, make sure you do something about it now and advocate for yourself in doing what's right. Even if they send you to collections you can dispute this because they are in the wrong and it's very clear they have crafted this to work in their favor by intimidating you. Just do the work to protect yourself and don't give in to them taking advantage of you. Even after you call and "cancel" know this may not be the end of it...

Starting a business should be the easy part, right? Been waiting on a DBA form signed by my registered agent " United States Corporation Agents, Inc. " aka Legalzoom for about a month. You can receive emails stating we have reviewed your order and should be ready within 2-3 business days. Which is understandable, BUT! They've given me excuses like its has incorrect information( understandable). Resent the email with the correct information then 2-3days later I get a response stating they couldn't open the attachment. Resent the email again and I don't get a response this time. I contacted customer service to "discuss" the issue with the rep and all she stated was the registered agent didn't think the form was legit which was the reason why they didn't sign. After I sent them the link to where I downloaded the form they finally responded with a " thank you. Your inquiry has been received by our customer care team... I have yet to receive the document I need by EMAIL! Can't start my business without the form being signed from the registered agent. It seems to me I'm getting the "RUN AROUND", due to the county clerks office here in town charges me $27 to file this DBA and legal zoom wants around $100. Seriously, I don't recommend legal zoom to anyone.

Paid for them to create an LLC. When contacting customer service for help I was sent from one department to another with no help. They filed my paperwork incorrectly with the state. I paid for upgraded attorney and licensing services. I received conflicting information from both. When I tried to get the matter resolved I was told I had used up my one phone call allowed with the upgraded services and I would have to just live with the conflicting information. RUN RUN RUN TO ANOTHER SERVICE PROVIDER!

I just started my LLC nearly a month ago and have had issues ever since I began... Today, after about my 5th call to them I still got no where on the situation and trying to obtain my EIN #. I have already invested money into this and have not received the customer service care I feel I deserve or anywhere near starting my business in transportation as I planned.

I cancelled the order and also want all of my money back, but I'm being told that isn't possible. So that means out of $400 I have already spent, they are refunding $79 only. SO, Your are going to scam your "customer" out of money when customer service is guaranteed? The IRS doesn't charge you what so ever, but I chose LegalZoom for the customer care I needed and if needing legal assistance ever, I could use as a resource.

I'm also upset on the fact I had to call back multiple times and my account wasn't called to make me aware of the status, and just general updates. That in my opinion is what successful customer service is defined as.

To conclude, it is just very disappointing, I would not waste your time and go directly to the IRS to get started. I wish I would have an saved the $400 I have already spent on my account with LegalZoom.

Such a bad and umprofessionnal company - they picked name of my company without my consent - AND THEY WONT FIX THEIR MISTAKE - I PAID $900 FOR NOTHING. A woman named CArolina at Business Escalating would not provide me with her full name after telling me i have to pay $300 to amend that name - justa bunch of amateurs only going after ur money.

The worst experience ever, I went to them to file my corporation and my 501c3. Filled out all the paperwork and submitted it, I was told to just wait for a response from the IRS, a year later and no IRS responds. I called the IRS to get an update and found out that LegalZoom did not file my paperwork! To add insult to injury I had to fight with them to give me a refund because it was past their so-called 120 days! NEVER AGAIN! HORRIBLE! I LOST FUNDING FOR MY NON-PROFIT BECAUSE OF THEIR NEGLIGENCE! THEY DID NOTHING! I'M IN TEARS RIGHT NOW!

I contacted and contracted LegalZoom to form an LLC for me. Unfortunately, a mistake was made on the initial filing and an amendment was filed. I was sent form via email and promptly filled the forms and send them to LegalZoom. I called the same day faxed the documents back to them. I was informed they had the documents. The next day, I followed up and was again told the documents were there and being processed. Three days later I received a call informing me they still needed the documents. I asked why I had been told they received the necessary documents and now need them. The agent could not answer the question and I then asked for a manager to call me. It is now a week later and I still have not heard from management at LegalZoom and I found out today, in spite of emailing the documents earlier this week, they had AGAIN not been received even tho a agent told me on 4 days ago they were in receipt of the documents. I asked again for a manager and was told again it would take up to 3 days for a manager to call me. This is frustrating. I paid for expedited service for the original service and now, a month later nothing has been resolved and I can't open my new business and I am losing thousands of dollars a day. Thanks for nothing LegalZoom. The worst part is the request for a manger to call me back and being completely IGNORED!

I got signed up to do an LLC. I set up a 48 hour call back with an attorney because they only had two attorneys offered to answer my question. Both were 16 days out. Which I was told they have thousands available. No attorney called me so after a week I called in. Several days later they call and say they cancelled my 48 hour call back because I had set up the attorney appointment 16 days out. Rediculous. I have called multiple times no one seems to know what they are doing you have to wait days to speak with a manager and when I finally spoke ot one she said that was they way it worked and that I could wait weeks to talk to an attorney. I called again today and asked for the corporate number. He gave me the regular 800 number to customer care. So I went online.and found it and you can't talk to anyone. I have serious doubts about a company that won't allow you to speak to corporate. I had set up for them to do my taxes and I needed service in 48 states. I thought if I called corporate to let them know that there is a problem I would go forward. You can't talk to corporate. They just loop you back to customer service... Cancelling

They will not stop a payment plan of $159.00/month although I'm struggling financially and let them know that and tried multiple times with multiple people to stop it. They don't clearly let people know that you are locked in for 2 years. If I don't want to give my money to a company I SHOULD BE ABLE TO MAKE THAT CHOICE. THEY WILL NOT STOP THE PAYMENT PLAN AND CONTINUE TO STEAL MY MONEY WITHOUT MY CONSENT. I spoke to the what she said was the only person I could talk to about it and she started getting very rude all because I couldn't afford their payment plan anymore and want to cancel it. Disgusting. Absolutely horrendouse customer service. Especially during difficult times like this.

I signed up to get an LLC package and opted for a payment plan of $136 a month over a 3 month period of time. I was charged a separate charge of $249 that I did not authorize! I made several calls and sent several emails with not response or help. I did how ever talk too 2 different people and was explained that it was a regeistered agent fee. One that's not included in the payment plan that I agreed to and authorized! Now I was also told that $100 of the was for a business license fee from their sister company. When I called them they told me it would cost $299 extra to get the license. All they told me wa go to the tax collectors office and get it there. I was charged $100 for some stupid advice that didn't do a thing to help as everyone knows that's where you have to go! I told them I don't want that service and wanted to be refunded for the charge. I also explained the basic registered agent fee would be fine but not the other stuff and I was told I had to contact the state about it! I want my money refunded for the crap charges the fraudulently made to my account and did not authorize! I filed a complaint with the better business and I'm going to file a complaint with my bank and I'm going to contact the sheriffs department and report them for making fraudulent charges as well if they do not fix what they did! I clearly agreed to the 3 payments not the $249 2 days after the first payment was made! Ya and I never got my company seal as it was included in the package that I am paying for!

The website explains it's yearly subscription that begins the moment the company is confirmed as filed with the state and not included in your initial single payment or three pay installment selection. Reason being is because this service does not officially begin until your business entity is active. The yearly fee is outlined in our online questionnaire, the itemized breakdown of charges provided prior to payment, the order confirmation receipt and the welcome letter included in your package. I purchased a Patent Search package from Legal Zoom. After paying $299 for the package, I wasn't sure how the information would be delivered, or when. So I logged into my account less than 5 minutes after submitting my order and the status read "Shipping". Checking into what "Shipping" meant, the site stated that the search was complete and the package had been shipped via USPS 2 Day shipping (which doesn't exist). Fast forward to 4 days later, the status still showed "Shipping", but checking again, the site stated "4 Day" shipping. On the 5th day, I received an email with a Cover Letter and my Search Results. The cover letter stated that there were 43 search results for my product. The Search Results pdf form consisted of approximately 4 pages out of the 260 page document and only 18 results. The remaining 256 pages were empty. Not knowing if I still had a package coming via USPS, and wanting the rest of my results, I emailed Legal Zoom via the email address provided. That was about 3 days ago, and I have not received any further communication from Legal Zoom. The results that were produced were hardly worth $2.99, much less $299. Needless to say, I will not be filing a patent with Legal Zoom, and I certainly will never do business with them again. What a horrible service. If you're contemplating doing business with these ripoff artists, do yourself a huge favor and keep searching.

I paid Legal Zoom to assist with obtaining a Trademark. Immediately I was bombarded with popups and emails requesting that I purchase more service when the initial service wasn't even complete yet. They were so slow that someone with a similar business name was able to submit and go live a month after I contacted Legal Zoom. Because of mis information, information that I did not want made public was made public. I attempted to contact Legal Zoom by phone and was on hold for over an hour before some person with zero answers finally came on the line. I decided to contact the US Government trademark office directly and was on hold for less than 3 minutes with excellent customer service. I realized that it wasn't necessary to use LegalZoom in the first place and really feel scammed. I basically paid them to make the entire service more difficult and now I've spent hours on the phone trying to correct the mistakes they made while applying for my trademark. If they had any level of customer service I would ask them to correct the information however, I can't even get someone to answer the phone, another call and 50 minutes later still no hour, recording says wait times up to 8 hours. Do not give these people your money they are scam artist.

Please do not... I repeat do not use LEGALZOOM for anything. They are rude and unresponsive and will only take money from you. Since they get paid by what packages they sell you. They don't do anything for you that you can't do yourself for waaaaaaaay less!

After I cancelled the services they still continued to charge my account. I had to cancel my account and open a new bank account so they can not have access to my funds. They are truly low people and am pretty certain there is a special place where it is hot down below for them...

Fortunately I was able to file a FRAUD CHARGE against them for what they did. They also were to refund me another amount of $129 that never came and I was told to get with my bank on it.

PLEASE HEAR THIS WARNING LEGAL ZOOM WILL SCAM YOU AND THEY DONT CARE ABOUT YOU OR WHAT YOU ARW REALLY TRYING TO DO FOR YOURSELF OR YOUR BUSINESS...

Use legalzoom for my LLC 2012. Company was closed in 2014 and legalzoom is charging me $399 for service agent fee on an inactive LLC. what service do the provide to be charging $399 as service agent? Call and explain they need to stop as the business was no longer in operation and the LLC was inactive. CLOSED THE DEBIT CARD ON THEIR FILES. THEY ARE STILL CHARGING MY NEW DEBIT CARD WHICH I NEVER GAVE THEM THAT INFORMATION. Pure scam and disjusting attitude

I was looking to work on patenting a device. I signed up and then I was working to make my first prototype. Time passed by of course and it took me longer than expected. By the time I was ready to use Legalzoom to apply for a patent, and speak to a patent lawyer, guess what? Some sort of a legal adviser (not attorney) that I'm not sure how competent they are. On top of that, they DON'T offer a NON DISCLOSURE AGREEMENT, you have to rely on their "word" and reputation. For a legal service, not to offer a nondisclosure agreement is really NOT the way to go and of course I found help someplace else.
Thanks for nothing notLegalZoom for charging me all these years for an under par service (Charged up to date close to $1400 :)) ))))

Legal Zoom's EIN obtainment process was severely delayed, lasting over 60 days. During this time, they failed to send the signed document required for the application within the expected timeframe of 1-3 days. When contacted for an update after 15 days, Legal Zoom revealed that there were issues with the IRS details, and instructed me to reach out to the state division of corporations and commercial code and pay additional charges for changes.

Despite assurances from a Legal Zoom support agent that the EIN number would be updated within 2-3 days, the same IRS details mismatch issue persisted when I called back for an update. The delays and lack of progress due to Legal Zoom's negligence have resulted in significant loss to my business, and the service provided was simply unacceptable.

I would caution against using Legal Zoom for future legal services, as their failure to deliver on their promises has caused undue stress and financial strain. It is important for companies to prioritize their customers' needs and expectations, and Legal Zoom has clearly fallen short in this regard.

Once upon a time this was a very reliable comprehensive place for basic needed legal documents. However that is no longer the case. I strongly urge others to go elsewhere. I've been a subscription member for 6 years and it proved to be a complete waste of my money.
I ordered two very basic docs. A basic Living Will(Advance Directive) and a Basic Power of Attorney on May 2,2019. These were paid for and clearly show in the Orders Section of my account. The will was delivered on the 4th, but the other document was scheduled any time between the 4th and the 7th. The system showed the document was in process and under review etc.
Imagine my surprise to find out today that they are now claiming they never got my questionnaire from their system. This questionnaire is in their system and isn't an outside document software transfer. If their system lost it, then why the "in Process and review information, " I was being given? They were full of excuses today but they have a huge hole in their system accountability. They took money for an item they claim got lost and yet they wouldn't have even known that if I hadn't called today looking for it. Ultimately the only thing that matters here is the fact they had an open order that was passed its latest delivery date and no one their knew it until I called.
Boy, that's Legal Bookkeeping that should make anyone run away from this company.
