Use legalzoom for my LLC 2012. Company was closed in 2014 and legalzoom is charging me $399 for service agent fee on an inactive LLC. what service do the provide to be charging $399 as service agent? Call and explain they need to stop as the business was no longer in operation and the LLC was inactive. CLOSED THE DEBIT CARD ON THEIR FILES. THEY ARE STILL CHARGING MY NEW DEBIT CARD WHICH I NEVER GAVE THEM THAT INFORMATION. Pure scam and disjusting attitude

I was looking to work on patenting a device. I signed up and then I was working to make my first prototype. Time passed by of course and it took me longer than expected. By the time I was ready to use Legalzoom to apply for a patent, and speak to a patent lawyer, guess what? Some sort of a legal adviser (not attorney) that I'm not sure how competent they are. On top of that, they DON'T offer a NON DISCLOSURE AGREEMENT, you have to rely on their "word" and reputation. For a legal service, not to offer a nondisclosure agreement is really NOT the way to go and of course I found help someplace else.

I had a couple questions about how to go about sending my application for an LLC and Jacqueline was really patient and helpful. She answered all my questions and I was very pleased with the help.

I love Legal Zoom, I was able to get my LLC from them, I was able to do my last will, and testament through them,. Every rep has been so nice and helpful. And the prices are so reasonable.

Legal Zoom's EIN obtainment process was severely delayed, lasting over 60 days. During this time, they failed to send the signed document required for the application within the expected timeframe of 1-3 days. When contacted for an update after 15 days, Legal Zoom revealed that there were issues with the IRS details, and instructed me to reach out to the state division of corporations and commercial code and pay additional charges for changes.

Despite assurances from a Legal Zoom support agent that the EIN number would be updated within 2-3 days, the same IRS details mismatch issue persisted when I called back for an update. The delays and lack of progress due to Legal Zoom's negligence have resulted in significant loss to my business, and the service provided was simply unacceptable.

I would caution against using Legal Zoom for future legal services, as their failure to deliver on their promises has caused undue stress and financial strain. It is important for companies to prioritize their customers' needs and expectations, and Legal Zoom has clearly fallen short in this regard.

Once upon a time this was a very reliable comprehensive place for basic needed legal documents. However that is no longer the case. I strongly urge others to go elsewhere. I've been a subscription member for 6 years and it proved to be a complete waste of my money.
I ordered two very basic docs. A basic Living Will(Advance Directive) and a Basic Power of Attorney on May 2,2019. These were paid for and clearly show in the Orders Section of my account. The will was delivered on the 4th, but the other document was scheduled any time between the 4th and the 7th. The system showed the document was in process and under review etc.
Imagine my surprise to find out today that they are now claiming they never got my questionnaire from their system. This questionnaire is in their system and isn't an outside document software transfer. If their system lost it, then why the "in Process and review information, " I was being given? They were full of excuses today but they have a huge hole in their system accountability. They took money for an item they claim got lost and yet they wouldn't have even known that if I hadn't called today looking for it. Ultimately the only thing that matters here is the fact they had an open order that was passed its latest delivery date and no one their knew it until I called.
Boy, that's Legal Bookkeeping that should make anyone run away from this company.

They will not transfer you to a "manager" asked for a a manager and just got put on hold for 30 mins and if they know they can not help they will not give you a name.

They sent me to collections with out notifying me (I went back and checked) then I call to have it "resolved" I was told it was then a month later the same collections company (they had updated with legal zoom) is calling me saying that i still owed, so I called and Brad who was helpful let me know I owe nothing then tranferred me to "buisness managment" the guy that answered did not give me a name and just gave me attitude when I wanted them to fix their mistake and instead of transferring me which should have been done he left me on hold.

If you haven't started using this company DO NOT BOTHER.

Legal zoom has helped me all throughout my business.

The help I recieved to start my LLC business was excellent! The agent was on the phone with me answering my questions and guiding me step by step. She was also very personable.

We got our wills, power of attorney and living wills from Legal Zoom and it was easy to do and a lot cheeper than going to an attorney we are glad we did it.

I needed a Power of Attorney and got it exactly the way I wanted, also medical Power, exactly the way7 I wanted. Quickly, efficiently and at reasonably. I wish all my transactions were this good.

She was very helpful and had so much patience with me and all of my questions. If she wasn't sure of a answer, she didn't just tell me anything. She found the answer or told me she wasn't sure.

Just spent hours on the phone with various LegalZoom representatives. Was disconnected twice by their system. I assumed the person would call me back. Silly me. Got into the long wait line again and again and again. Was given untrue information on the third call - that it's not possible in Texas to indicate a future date for the effective date of incorporating. On the 4th call, I pointed out the Texas form and page number for doing so. Was told that yes it was possible in Texas but that it was my fault that the effective date was Sept. 10,2014 because I didn't indicate in the "Special Instructions" box that I wanted the corporation to begin Jan. 1. Was told that the fact that I wrote on their forms that our fiscal year would begin Jan. 1,2015 and that payroll would begin Jan. 1,2015, that wasn't enough for them to know to file it that way nor apparently to ask me, since there was no where on their forms that asked that specific question. Apparently I had to clairvoyantly know to fill in the blank "Special Instructions" box with that information. Now I have a huge mess on my hands and their only response was that it was my fault. My agent got ahold of me and was VERY helpful and professional. She handled all my concerns and was very informative. So far very happy with my experience.

I am going on 3 months of dealing with getting a simple last will and trust. It is almost impossible to get a hold of anyone without having to wait an hour, they constantly put your order on hold and then do not let you know what you need unless you call them. Then when you do get to talk with someone they can't help you because they cannot give legal advise. I have scheduled attorney appointments, which I had to wait 2 weeks for the first time because they are only available from 2-5 on certain days. I basically had to take time off work to get their phone call, then they called, the phone was disconnected and when I tried calling back they didn't answer. The second time, which I had to wait for again, I put in my paperwork just as the attorney told me to do and they still denied it. I WOULD NEVER EVER RECOMMEND using Legal zoom. EVER. I have a very simple last will and testament and they can't process it because my wording in a section doesn't pass their initial automated phase. DO NOT USE THEM!

I was going to give them my business to help create my LLC and I was going to buy additional services from them for my business. However, I went through all the steps and I was choosing specifically what I wanted to purchase. Then I got to the end and there's this whole list of add on services. If you don't look very very closely it automatically signs you up for just one of the services on top of what your purchasing. It is not apparent and if you're not looking at the whole thing with a fine tooth comb you would miss it. You also aren't charged right off the bat so it's another way you would miss it, because they sneakily sign you up for a free trial for this expensive out on service. So if you didn't look closely and realize you were signed up for a free trial you wouldn't even know to cancel it. And right then and there I decided this was not the company that I wanted to give my business to. I think stuff like that is just unnecessary and sneaky and if that's what you need to do to get business then there's something wrong with your business plan. They have good reviews otherwise but that's just bad business

I thought it would be more efficient and cost effective to go through LegalZoom to submit my request for a patent. I also thought LZ could refer me to the correct attornies to assist with submitting a patenet request. After spending thousands of dollars i found that i did all the work and they basically didn't help on completing any research, meaning giving any counsel on the idea. They only confirmed feedback from the US Patent Office, which is really at a point that is too late. I requested a "book" through LZ from the US patent office proving many many patents that might be similar to what i was suggesting. With my limited knowledge on how this worked and what to look for I didn't find anything that seemed to be similar to my suggestion. With the years of experience of the Huntington Beach law firm that LZ recommended I worked with they did nothing to help. After I got the no from the US patent office the reasons why they said I could not get a patent were for reasons that any reputible, and experienced patent attorney would have, or should have caught long before the final answer came. I am now out several thousand dollars for very poor service through the attorney's office. I would never recommend LegalZoom to anyone that wants a serious legal experience working with competent people. Take your business to a local, reputible law office. Also, I gave a one star only because there is no option to not give any starts or negative stars.

BEWARE of the Registered Agent SCANDAL! This company automatically makes itself your business's registered agent and will continue to bill for this so-called service annually, which is literally just a name listing and they claim that they will send you so-called alerts! It's a scandal. I NEVER HEARD A PEEP FROM THEM until I just received a collection notice in January 2020. They are collecting for supposedly being my Business Registered Agent back five years ago in 2015! Yes, they are so desperate to get revenue that they are billing inactive businesses from 5 years ago! When I contacted the state of Pa, they told me they get calls ALL THE TIME from people like me who didn't realize I was being scammed by Legalzoom. They should re-name themselves Il-legal Zoom. Contact your state to find out if you can be your own registered agent/office. That's what I did. If only I had known about this option 5 years ago! They have no problem making themselves your agent and billing you, but they are unable to make changes to remove themselves as your registered agent. You have to do that on your own! If I could give them a negative star review I would. Go to one of their competitors. They need to realize that they are taking advantage of the unsuspecting. They should be all about customer service not a disservice.
