I find it frustrating to have a company bill me extra to pay an account that I pay yearly in 1 payment. They want to force everyone to have auto-payment, which is something I chose not to allow. They were charging $8 to pay by check. That $8.00 cost them this account which did benefit me as I shopped the insurance and found the same coverage $400.00 cheaper. Guess I should thank them.

Worst insurance claim representative ever. They sent out a so call a/c furnace inspector. And he only came out for about 8 minutes and took pictures. No meter no power Probe. House got hit by lightning insurance paid for everything inside my house but the a/c and furnace. Clearly documented with pictures and contractors that it was in working order until it got hit by lightning. Unprofessional inspector unprofessional claim representative. This insurance company is a joke!

Liberty mutual failed to fully pay for a rental car while my car was being repaired.
They determined that they would pay for 4 days, do you really think that I can control
How long the collision shop (that commerce insurance told me to use) is going to take.
After repeated emails to the rep. Handing the claim, with no response, I received a bill from the car rental company for over $300. I couldn't believe the rep. Would not even reply to my emails and phone calls. Liberty mutual acknowledged that the accident was not my fault why should I pay for the replacement

Nasty customer reps. Every year my home owners and car insurance went up 25.00-50.00 without any claims. When I called to ask for an explanation for the increase, I was treated rudely like he was doing me a favor. When I asked for the manager, he was just as nasty and he told me the increases were do to administration fees and I should've read my policy before calling.
Bottom line, I canceled my policies with them and went with Nationwide, both polices were 310.00 LESS then Liberty. Don't use this company, I've been telling everyone to get out of Liberty Mutual polices...

They will not help me though they are responsible for my car. They transfer you everywhere and don't answer your claim questions no matter what you try. My insurance company can't even get ahold of this poisonous company

The customer service at Liberty Mutual ties with that of Discover. They are super prompt and courteous with lock out services. You actually speak with someone in the USA. The rep actually listens to the customer. Instead of having a list of rote questions to ask the customer, the rep listens. This I find rare in customer service today. The rates are competitive with other companies. I did lots of research before I went with Liberty Mutual. So far no claims.

No tickets, no accidents. Always paid in full yearly. Only liability. 365$ a year. Got my renewal today. 745$ a year.if paid in full. Highway robber... literally. Bye bye.

They do not have any competent customer support! Get the run around from every machine then every incompetent person they have! "Only pay for what you need", is a lie! They have ripped me off for the last year that I know of by doing the auto pay and raised rates threefold!
New insurance through a different company is les than 1/3rd the rates for the same policy!
My advise is that you keep shopping around before signing wit Liberty Mutual.

I have had a claim with them since 8/4/21. My neighbors water lines (condo) leaked and damaged my unit. Good Luck in Liberty Mutual backing their insured. I have requested for an adjuster to return and correct their quote for repair and get no where. They told me in the subrogation unit that because my neighbor was not negligent in making his pipes leak into my unit, he is not responsible. So if my tree blows down on my neighbors fence I apparently will not be responsible since I was not negligent for the tree blowing down? I am so stressed and cannot get any help in this organization. I will be finding a company this time by looking at their ratings. I had no idea how badly Liberty Mutual is rated but it is truly fitting.

Horrible Company

Liberty Insurance is absolutely HORRIBLE! Over the phone, their REP says we should be covered, advises to open a claim, only to be DENIED. Found out that 3 months prior THEY changed a couple items in the policy (without my knowledge or approval, etc), which caused us to have to pay $14K in plumbing issues OUT OF POCKET! We pay almost $6,000 in annual premiums ($478 mo) for what is supposed to be pretty dang good coverage. Pffft! Who does that?!?! They lie, deceive, and manipulate. BUYER BEWARE- they are crooked! Liberty Mutual is a major reason why the insurance companies remain such repugnant companies. I will happily spend more for ANY other company at this point. Even worse, we have multiple vehicles covered as well. BYE-BYE Liberty! SHAME ON YOU LIBERTY MUTUAL.

We were traveling back to our home in Show Low from Phoenix, when we had a flat tire. We were a mile or so from a town Superior. Our Hyundai is a year that no spare was included. So, we contacted Liberty Mutual roadside assistance. They had no idea where Superior Arizona was located. They finally said they would send help. Which they did, only to Gold Canyon. Gold Canyon is at least 20 miles to the west of where we were. We waited an hour and called customer service again. The rep told us that they couldn't come that far out unless we paid a hook up charge of $130.00. Then they would make arrangements with a tow company to pick us up. We angrily paid the extortion because we had sat there three hours. Over an hour later, the tow truck arrived. We cancelled our policy the next morning, and went back to State Farm. Saving a little premium means nothing if the coverage is poor. And Liberty Mutual coverage is poor.

Liberty Mutual is FULLY AWARE that someone is using my deceased mother's name on a policy and refuses to do anything about it. Instead, they advised ME to contact the PERP and ask them to remove her name!
Liberty Mutual is TRASH.

They advertise one thing, beware. It is fake, false. Feaud. They say accident forgiveness! They say you don't get punished for filing a claim! This is out right fraud! They have refused to renew policies for 2 different ramily members for filing very small claims!
I have no tickets or accidents, yet they raise my rates every year. Yes I have had enough with these lieing insurance companies. Time to start our own petitions and campaign. Get rid if insurance companies and start a new non profit program to meet the mandatory laws...

I had a roof leak. I was told it was the flashing around the chimney from a Liberty garbage evaluator. Filed a claim with Liberty garbage and the claim was approved and paid out. Roof has continued to leak for over two years with 9 visits from the roofer. Flashing was replaced 3 times and all the shingles around the area replaced as well. This was all paid out of my pocket. Roof continued to leak. We started looking at the chimney itself and that was the culprit. I contacted Liberty and informed them we found the actual leak in the chimney. They said the chimney is not covered and I understand that. When I mentioned that the only reason we didn't look at the chimney is b/c Liberty's garbage evaluator stood firm that it was the flashing, they didn't care. I asked them to cover my expenses due to the improper initial contractor that was adamant that the flashing was at fault. They declined and now will not respond to anything I do, whether it be email or call. If the evaluator would have identified the initial problem correctly, I wouldn't have went down the rabbit hole of the flashing and had my roof leaking for two years. They are responsible for all the additional money and work and will not even consider any fault. Customer service is terrible to non-existent. All the reps you speak to are not interested and most you can't understand due to heavy accent. Nobody responds. Nobody reaches out...nothing. They just wish you away. Horrible garbage company.

Now let me start off by saying train your employees to make sure their customers understand their policies before, not after a accident. Now liberty tells you your policy doesn't cover collision so sorry. Also your policy does not have uninsured motorist either! Now for quality products and services this call will be recorded. When I started with liberty I said to the agent I need full coverage! I'm 66 retired and disabled my car is paid for. Why on earth would I turn down both of those coverages! I wouldn't! Ever! Then don't get ill and go in the hospital or you will pay 285.00 to reinstate your insurance for auto 10 days from the date of their letter it went from I think it was 80.00 to 285.00. They didn't care it's all about the money I wasn't even driving the car I was in the hospital with covid and pneumonia. My advice go to state farm you pay for what you want, not what they give you...*

You'd better pray that you never get into an accident with a liberty mutual customer OR that you get into an accident while covered under liberty mutual policy.
I was hit and found not at fault. The liberty mutual customer of course denied wrongdoing but he was cited by the police for wreckless driving. I did my due diligence and called Liberty to file a claim. I was shocked when they stated they do their own investigation to determine liability and even spoke to me as if i was a liar. The police report states it all and they say the police weren't there. I've never had this problem with other insurance companies, especially if the other party was found liable and cited by police. My claims were paid and vehicles fixed, no problem and certainly no interrogation. Now I am anticipating a legal battle with liberty mutual. If you look up liberty mutual complaints, you will see why!

Liberty Mutual stiffed my family of four when our house flooded. We found a cleanup vendor and asked Liberty if they accepted the vendor. They said "sure," they worked with them "all the time," and that the vendor was "not a problem"... Until they got the bill, at which point they stiffed the vendor, which is now going after my family for the balance. All because Liberty decided it was better to save a buck and benefit their shareholders. The day they get shut down for the ponzi scheme that they are, I will be jubilant and dancing in the streets. Until that day, I'll probably be LIVING in the streets, along with my wife and children.

My husband handles our car insurance. Once I heard the ridiculous prices he was paying I was astonished. Of course that wasn't after I hit a deer and had to deal with the claims. That's fine, our fault for not doing our do-diligence. So I found a policy, LESS THAN HALF PRIVE WITH STATE FARM, so I canceled my policy and they still took out my payments after I was told they wouldn't. Just another reason I'll make sure no one I know uses this company. What a joke!

Avoid this company!

My daughter got a divorce and had to refinance her house to pay off her ex-husband. After the refinance was complete, we asked Liberty Mutual to remove his name from the insurance policy. They refused. They stated that he had to personally call them and ask to have his name taken off the policy. Well, that wasn't going to happen because it was a messy divorce and there's no way he'd do anything to help us now. We explained this to Liberty Mutual and also told them that we had a copy of the new deed without his name and a new mortgage note without his name. They responded that it didn't matter and they wouldn't remove his name as insured without his permission.

We then found another insurance company to write a whole new homeowner's policy without his name. We called Liberty Mutual and asked to cancel the existing policy. Guess what. They refused to cancel the policy unless my daughter's ex-husband gave his permission. Can you believe this?

After over half an hour of arguing about this, we asked to speak with a supervisor and was connected to a "resolution specialist". We went over the whole thing again with her and she FINALLY agreed to have the policy canceled.

Save yourself some frustration and avoid getting insurance through Liberty Mutual!
