Horrible! I was told the gift would arrive by Christmas by customer service. Then, the day after Christmas I receive an email that it is out of stock. I will never do business with this company again.
I ordered this rolling bag, which is not even one year old. I was walking downtown and I turned around and the handle broke. I asked for a replacement but I missed the deadline because the policy is 60 day. They told me that the bag is no longer available. I am dissatisfied with the product.
Ordering from this site has been good to me. Anyone that has a mother (or just plain friend) who has just about everything knows that sometimes you just have to find SOMEthing they don't have. I have only purchased personalized items from this site, for it makes the perfect gift for that special person. Shipping was good every time and I have never had a bad thing happen. No misspelled monograms, or off-centering either. No lost deliveries or damaged goods. I have never returned anything, for items purchased are exactly what I ordered as described on their website. Everything I have ever bought through the years are still used by my mother. Good company so far for me (because if it wasn't, my mother would most certainly tell me the truth-she has no shame >_<)
Ordered item for Christmas in November and told it would be shipped in 3-7 days. I did not receive it so I contacted Customer Service and told it was in production and shipping in a day or two. Three days later received email telling me I had received a credit for the purchase with no explanation. Contacted the company was was told the item had been "over sold". Many conversations with Customer Service with no satisfaction. Very poor communication!
I ordered an item that was in stock to be personalized plenty of time before Christmas. I called a week before Christmas to see the status of my order since I didn't receive an email and they said it was being personalized as we spoke on the phone, and that I would receive it before Christmas. The day before Christmas Eve I called again because I didn't receive it or an email with tracking. I was then told that I wouldn't receive the order until February because they were out of stock. There was no e mail, no notification or anything notifying me of a problem with my order. There was no communication about this incident. To make it worse they lied to me about it being made as we spoke on the phone. Terrible service.
Placed an order on November 16, two single items, four of another item and four of another item. One of the single items arrived December 9 the other single item arrive the week of December 13, one of the four like items also arrive the week of the 13th. The fourth item that had four of the same things in it never received, and notification wasn't sent to me until December 15 that I wasn't going to get it. Why in the world would it take so long for you to decide that an item is no longer available and I won't receive it? For it Sto take basically a month to tell me that at a crucial time of year is ridiculous. I feel like Lillian Vernon has gone extremely downhill since the owner passed. Extremely slow on everything they ship.

First of all, I never order from them without a coupon and that is usually eaten up by the shipping and handling and care and packaging fees (Shouldn't that be included in the price?). I know I sound crazy but I love the guest towels and have been purchasing them for years. THAT'S THE ONLY THING I PURCHASE FROM THE COMPANY. My guests compliment them as well. If I could find them of the same quality and lower costs somewhere else, I wouldn't purchase from Lillian Vernon. I know...crazy!
I usually don't ever take time to write reviews but Lillian Vernon is a rip off don't even waste your time their items are so overpriced and you have to pay for shipping and another shipping and handling fee and taxes and their Items are not even that great of quality. I read some of the reviews and everyone complains about them saying that they would have their product at a certain time and they never got it well that happened with me I was supposed to get it December and they said it was on back order and they gave me a date in January and then I called and it still wasn't ready and they gave me another date a month later in February and then I never heard anything and then I called back and they said it was out of stock and they just canceled it no one ever told me I waited this long for nothing! Absolutely wasted my time and I loathe that company and I told him I will never order from them again they really need to close that company down! Terrible!
I ordered personalized beach towels on Nov. 14 - grandkids Christmas presents. Despite checking the order status, tracking status, calling, etc. - these items did not come by Christmas. Each time I called, I was told something completely different - that they'd be delivered by a specific date; backordered; no longer available, etc. There has been NO communication about the status of this order from Lillian Vernon. I called again today - Jan. 26. As usual - the "we are experiencing a high number of calls yada yada yada." I did get a person - who told me I'd have a 30-40 minute wait if I stayed on the phone. I stayed on the phone for quite a while and demanded to speak to someone who could give me an answer - will I still get this order? Will I get a refund? Of course - there's no one to speak to. How hard is it to let a customer know that their item is no longer available (which I suspect it isn't). And how hard is it to refund my money - apparently LV could not care less. AVOID THIS COMPANY.
I've ordered from their catalog online for years and I never had 1 problem. They a legitimate company with excellent Customer Service.
