Order a sofa in July spending almost £3k. First delivery slot - sofa didn't arrive and got a call the night before the delivery was supposed to arrive, saying it was no longer coming. No date. Then 2nd delivery date provided. This has come and on the morning of delivery - another call. No Sofa. No explanation. I will be contacting my credit card company to refund on the basis that the company seems to be operating fraudulently.
AVOID AT ALL COSTs
After spending over £400 in small 3 items from Loaf (a coffee table, a rug and a magazine rack) I was doubly surprised to find out that:
- Unlike most stores Loaf charges a delivery fee regardless of how much you've spend
- They were unable to deliver the items I'd purchased outside office hours (Monday to Friday between 9-5) or give me an approximate time/slot for delivery.
I pointed out to them that as both my partner and I work full time (hence why we can afford to shop at overpriced furniture stores such as Loaf) and we were not going to book annual leave to get the goods delivered so we needed an alternative delivery arrangement (either a weekend or an evening). This, I was told, was not an option.
I then suggested they deliver it to my office as it has a concierge but to please take out the £15 delivery fee as I was not prepared to pay it given the huge inconvenience of their restricted delivery service. I was told they are a 'small company' and this, again, was not possible.
I've now cancelled my order given Loaf's inability to deliver goods outside work hours and Loaf has lost over £400 over a £15 delivery fee.
It feels as though Loaf does not cater for the modern family (who works full time and does not have a 'garden' or 'trustworthy neighbours to pick up the delivery' - these by the way, are the unhelpful options I was given by Loaf to get around the delivery issue).
