Over the years, due to poor corporate management, it deteriorated; became known as "Lord and Taylor" and essentially sunk into oblivion. I ordered a few lovely cashmere sweaters in recent years... then I just learned that it was bought out for a meager 400 M. By some kind of rental business... horrible news. They sent me a return label to give them a good review, after I did they received my return and never sent me my money back. All the communications went through NY and Co. Now, no one answers the emails, the phone number doesn't work, tooooo bad this used to be my favorite store. I think we should all send them to collections...

I ordered two dresses for a wedding, neither one if them were appropriate. As soon as they arrived, I tried them on decided to return- packed them back in the original shipping box and sent right back, in February! I still (June 9) do not have a credit for one of the dresses which L&T lost until April 18. I am still trying to initiate an over $600 credit. Customer service responds like a bot so apparently no one there cares.

I will never order from them again. I received a damaged garment. It was also too small. The return was refused because of the damage. It was never worn, tags still on and it was returned and post marked the same day it was received. I always return the same day so as to get credit quickly. Lesson learned with this company, if you do business with them document everything and take pictures if returning any garments to them. Even if in perfect condition. They will not talk to you on the phone, only via email. Patricia D. Was just an email pusher and had no authority and the warehouse department was absolutely worthless. They should also be inspecting for damage before garments go out. A one sided quality control. Hmmm.
I ordered several items which came in 4 separate shipments on different days. When I received a pair of earrings in one shipment, they were damaged. I have emailed 5 times in the last two weeks to find out if they will at least replace them (the earrings are non returnable). No one has answered my email, and the number I found online is a non working number. The earrings were $88 and I am disgusted.
I bought a $89 dress from lord and Taylor June 2021. It was smaller than the size I ordered… but I'm unable to return or exchange. The stupid system won't let me print the return label. I guess they want the clock to run out on me.

Some online company bought the L&T name and is trading on what used to a quality brick and mortar store. The online L&T will sell you shoddy products and refuse to back them up. Stay away! This is not the Lord & Taylor that showed respect for their customers.
I purchased a YSL handbag on lordandtaylor.com. New. Not preloved. After I received it, I wondered why the leather felt so coarse. I brought it to a YSL boutique and they said they cannot authenticate. I started hearing about all the Gucci fakes they sold around the same time. By the time I got my YSL bag authenticated and confirmed counterfeit, it was past the 30 day return window. All sales final. This is illegal!

I ordered (5) nice dresses. One was cancelled by Lord and Taylor and (4) were shipped. I returned (3) and was only given credit for (2). They owe me $511.88 and there is not a customer service number. Everything is chat or email with no information generic responses. This company has go so downhill. Truly a consumer nightmare
I went to the store in Stamford CT. People touching everything and no one sanitary station with hand antiseptic. The prices are ridiculous, as closing discounts from 10% to 25%. Normally on sale were much cheaper
I placed the order on 10/18/2021 - $602. Delivery was promissed in 4-7 business days. Credit card was charged immediately.
I started contacting Customer Service - email, live chat, text, there is no phone - on 11/01/2021: order status or refund. Responses came day later:
"I understand and I apologize for any concern. Rest assured that one of our team has been requested to our appropriate department regarding on your concern. Sincerely apologize, this is not the experience we want you to have. As soon as they get information we will get back to you immediately. We are asking for your patience and understanding as we resolving this matter."
I keep contacting them every day - no resolution.

I recently purchased a top from Lord & Taylor online. After hand washing it, the collar immediately frayed & threads were visibly coming apart.
When I sent emails to request a credit or a refund, I was merely given Instructions on how to wash the top... LOL
Not the Lord &Taylor I used to know! At this point I blame myself for not reading the nearly 45 negative reviews and the 1.58 star rating prior to ordering this shirt from them. I learned a $50 lesson. Thankfully, I didn't spend any more money than that.
In the future, I think I'll buy my shirts made in China directly from China.

The Quality of dresses is cheaper fabrics, cut thinner & they charge you to return items! I was 1 day late trying to return a cheaply made $115.00 dollar ( on sale) dress and they refused to even offer a merchandise credit.

I placed an order two weeks ago. I haven't had a response to my order that shows it was submitted. I have called their customer service at least ten times and after being on hold a minimum of twenty minutes each time, no one ever came to the phone. There is no email address option to contact customer service or an option to be called back. This is pitiful. My order is in limbo with no recourse for me. I've had to reorder what I needed from various websites, costing me time and money. Time to close your doors L&T. You're falling apart.
I just realized they have been charging me twice for each item. They are unreliable. Poor customer service who cannot solve issues. They extort money for innocent people. Managers need to wake up because workers are messing with nits brand.
Lord&Taylor, formerly known as "Thank the Lord (&Taylor)" in our house has lost it's standing in my home. I ordered a swimsuit for my husband. When it arrived we were shocked to see that it was two sizes larger than what I had ordered. My receipt shows I ordered a medium, yet I received an XL. After several attempts to contact them at their help address went unanswered, I went back online to process the return. Not only are they keeping the shipping $'s I paid, now they want me to pay for return shipping. It's absurd. I wouldn't have wanted to return the product had it come in the size I ordered. But sending something too big, and then penalizing customers, is no way to run an online business. I am completely underwhelmed by my experience and will never shop with them again. A horrible experience which I now have to dispute with my credit card company.

I ordered some Canada Goose products from L&T and was immediately charged. It's been 11 days and I can't get any information as to what's happening. Other than a few templated responses from a bot and a canned email response, all communication has stopped with any further inquiries. This is the first time in my life I've written any type of review and was compelled to do so since the service is so terrible. I can't imagine this company staying afloat at this rate. On the other hand, if your looking for aggravation, lack of any type of real communication and being left completely in the dark with regards to your order, this is the place for you. Oh and a nice bonus, if your looking for any chat help, you might be waiting a while see that chat log times. I finally gave up when nobody bothered to join. I used to shop occasionally and L&T until I received the incredibly rule letter from them that claimed that I was making too many returns from my online purchases. They also gave the number I was supposed to call to discuss my 'bad' shopping habits. I have never seen anything more ridiculous in my life. I immediately cancelled and cut my Lord and Taylor credit card and deleted my online account. How can this retailer rudeness be tolerated in our day and age? This is not the way to gain customer loyalty and satisfaction. Stay away.
Tried to cancel a duplicate order as the first was not responsive. Despite many emails and texts they were not able to cancel and now asking for a return fee. By far on on the worst web retail experiences ever.
Do all you can to avoid this company. If you find a brand go direct it will save you lots of aggravation.

This company relaunched after being purchased by ZAADIA as a web only store and has clearly moved to the Zara model of cheap fast fashion and awful customer service policies. The sweater that was purchased for me as a gift has sleeves lined with nylon instead of all knit so it feels terrible against your skin, and the sizing is very short for a large (barely reaches my waist a:s a 5'10" man). I tried to return/exchange it but the order was outside of 30 days (as it was purchased a month prior in preparation for Christmas) and they were unwilling to allow me to return it. The tight 30 day return policy (which Zara also uses) is designed to stick customers with products they don't want. Don't shop at ZAADIA properties, this includes NY & Co. As well as many others.
Ps. Good luck getting a hold of anyone, all emails and texts are automated and they don't list any phone number that can be called.

I ordered a pair of sandals,$53 was taken from my account at the time of the order, I'm still waiting for the sandals 3 1/2 weeks later. I've contacted customer service only to be told twice now that my order is still being processed. This is ridiculous. It will be winter before my sandals arrive. Order someplace else!

The Lord & Taylor we all loved from many years is not the same online retail business. I will never buy from this business ever again. There is no Customer Service to speak with. They only ever allow Texting. What a crock. After 2 months (and actually a bit over 2 months) I received a refund $20.00 less than what I paid for the top I returned. They subtract a fee for returning the item you ordered. There are far too many reputable retail businesses to buy from, where you can get your full refund back for a return in a TIMELY manner. Plus, a human to talk with in Customer Service if needed.
Worst experience. Order still not shipped after 20 days. Requested a refund. Apparently not possible because "it is in process"". So now I have to continue to wait and when it does arrive I get to pay to return it. Never again. Do not order from here. Orders from China come more quickly.
