This was the loveliest department store when I was growing up. We shopped at their Fifth Avenue flagship store and at another suburban site. In its halcyon days it catered to the carriage trade... it was totally top drawer. It was always a treat to have lunch or a little treat at their tea room known as The Bird Cage. Over the years, due to poor corporate management, it deteriorated; became known as "Lord and Taylor" and essentially sunk into oblivion. I ordered a few lovely cashmere sweaters in recent years... then I just learned that it was bought out for a meager 400 M. By some kind of rental business... horrible news. Good-bye, Lord and Taylor's... you were wonderful and a classic in more genteel and gracious times. Five stars for your glorious past... you were the gold standard of department stores. ~ M. S.
They sent me a return label to give them a good review, after I did they received my return and never sent me my money back. All the communications went through NY and Co. Now, no one answers the emails, the phone number doesn't work, tooooo bad this used to be my favorite store. I think we should all send them to collections...
I ordered in January and it's already may and I haven't received my orders! I have been contacting customer service and they never resolved my situation, I asked for refund and I was ignored! I do not recommend this site!
Placed an order online for a Medium size coat, received a large. It says medium on the invoice, nobody bothered to check. Called to correct it, the item was sold out. The outsourced customer service was telling me how to return online only, when it says in the invoice I was holding that I can return to store also. I had a previous bad shipping experience with them before but decided to give them another chance. Never again.
I purchased a pair of shoes and when they arrived I didn't like the color so I didn't even take the out of box. I returned them the next day and I received an email that they received them on June 5th. On July 5th I finally got a response to my email looking for my refund. They informed me that the shoes were damaged when they received them on june 5th and I can't have my money back. I can't get anyone on the phone. I can't even get a response to my emails after I was told about not getting my money back. This is such bad customer service. They are making me give them a star to submit this review. I don't think they deserve a star. Also the company filed bankruptcy and it's probably bc of the way they do business.

Item was still listed as available on their website in the following time after I ordered it, it was listed as a sale item. I was given a run around about them finding the item to complete the order all the while it was still listed on the site still throughout the sale, it wasn't until the item went up in price that they decided to refund me and tell me to order again if I wanted the item but at the current price.

There is no phone number for Customer Service. They give you 3 options: texts, chat, email. Chat is not functioning; it's impossible to get an agent through Chat. They do not return emails or texts. Extremely strange! It's not poor Customer Service. It seems that Customer Service doesn't exist. You are on your own if you need help!
The customer service is terrible. I had a missing item from my order and they told me they could not help me. The item was costly and I will be contacting my credit card company. Stay away from Lord and Taylor as I am sure they will be out of business given their awful rating.

Totally a scam. I bought a ''gucci'' Marmont bag and it's totally false. How dare they deceive people. I paid more than 1400 dollars and now they don't even answer the email I sent them to send the return label It is possible that I found another bag with the same serial number, that is not possible, how could it happen, only that it is false and I found several defects in the bag, which should not have happened either
I ordered 2 pieces from L&T on September 14. I received the tracking information for both. One item arrived in a timely fashion; the other has yet to arrive (October 4th). I have reached out to *******@lordandtaylor.com at least 3 times now, all to no avail. You cannot talk to a live person; you must either text or send an email. But they don't answer anyway.

When I lived in NYC, I enjoyed going to L&T. I don't live there anymore, so I visit online. I may never buy anything from them again as this has not been a pleasant experience.
I wish they had lost the other item as it's just OK. I don't know if they'll ever do anything about it. I would rather receive the item that was lost (Lasdon Ruana shawl).

When you check online the item on stack after ordering and waiting for 10 days will receive an email from them saying (your order was canceled because we did not have enough stock to fulfill your order and your payment has been refunded). What kind of Business is this. When you contact them after 6 days from ordering the items they tell you you will receive an email with shipping info.
Unaware that Lord and Taylor is not this bunch of grifters. Ordered a dress, package arrives it is a child's pair of jogging pants. Checked Net, phone numbers listed discontinued, sent an email, returned as no such address. Called American Express and they had an email, advised that "you should just file a complaint now" advised I wanted to try to get the dress I had purchased. To make this short, they do not have the dress, never had the dress most probably. Customer Service also not a part of their service. Advised there is an $7.99 charge for returns! Since I do not have a printer getting the return label printed was an issue. So in essence the "not available dress cost me $11.00 and about $50.00 in total frustration. Bundled their emails, adds, picture of the item, etc and sent it to Atty General and Better Bisiness in Pa, a pure bait and switch, AVOID, not sure how I will get a refund but Amex maybe helpful.

Please do not buy from this store online since there are no more open stores!; they have a terrible return policy: basically you buy the item but can not return. If you will send it back if not satisfied but they will not refund your money; they will claim you wore it or used it. If you want to contest it, you will not have anyone to speak to. The live chat doesn't respond; the texting does not respond and if you email, they don't respond either. I'm at a loss here. I will never ever shop lord & Taylor again. I'm extremely upset and disappointed.

Sept 4,2023 - Order #******* - I cannot leave a low enough review because you don't allow for zero stars. My item was returned and delivered to the warehouse on August 10. I still have not received a refund. I have contacted the company several times and not only to have they not provided a refund, they proceeded to address me by a different name than my own. When questioned on that matter, they continue to call me by a different name. I will warn people from purchasing from this company, and I will not be purchasing anything from this company again. They are not following their return policy and seemed content with holding onto my money.
I placed an order for La Rochere glassware wine and tumblers, 4 sets in total, on 02/11 and a hair iron. All were on Final Sale. The Babybliss showed up but I am still awaiting the glassware. I first emailed them 2/18 *******@lordandtaylor.com after revisiting my account on their website sbd seeing the size-able portion of my order showed "unfulfilled ". There was no backorder, explanation, or reason for delay provided. After receiving no response to my first email, I emailed them again. Of course this was after reviewing CONTACT US on the website; and 1) trying to do a LIVE CHAT on 3 separate browsers and looked up URL is set to a dead-end location; and 2) I also sent TEXT to *******331, which also appears to be a dead-end.
I finally got a very unsatisfactory response of lip service about "we are facing higher than usual order volumes, which have led to some delays in our delivery process". No new expectations when my order would be shipped. No offer to credit the expedited delivery. Nothing to tell me supply chain issue, back-ordered, etc. I emailed a third time asking for these missing details and provided further lip service. The email responses signed from "CS Robert Nigel", which makes me further hesitant about the validity of this site and purchase. Any one else feeling might be a SCAM?

I ordered 2 dresses, tried them on and returned them via mail a few days later. Received credit for 1 dress. No mention of the second dress. I called customer service to inquire was told she would email return department and send me an email. A week later, no email I call again now they say second dress was damaged beyond repair and could not sell it. What? It was received in perfect condition and returned exactly the same way. If they received a damaged dress why was I not notified? Why did I have to call twice to inquire about the return?. Why do I feel they did not realize there a second dress in the box (although packing slip indicated there was) IF the dress was damaged it was damaged in their facility. I would never damage something and try to get credit for it. I understand they are downsizing so I guess the consumer is the one who has to pay for it. Funny they take pictures of the how the dress looked when they ship it but no pictures of the dress looked coming out of the box.
I bought a bcbg sweater in March just before covid caused the freehold nj store closed, well they reopened recently & I went there 2 return the sweater with my receipt & tags attached; well the very unhelpful salesperson said I'm not taking this back we got rid of bcbg; I bought it here not my problem, so I'm stuck with it. They have sales with a big deal of 20% off final sale with dressing rooms closed, Really? I wouldn't give them one penny, no wonder bankrupt
I purchased a gift for my partner before his bday. A month and a week before because irnos close to Xmas. They are Gucci loafers. Very expensive. Unfortunately they run large. I got him his size a 10.5 and he needs a 10. I asked if they could exchange them. They refused stating I am outside of the 30 day policy. Brand new. Never used. In the box still. Very disgusted with this policy. Unheard of. I will never shop with them again. Will b very surprised if they don't close for good after their bankruptcy.

***Update: Never received the dress back or a refund. My credit card went to battle for me to try to get charges reversed

This store doesn't honor returns. They keep the product and you DON'T GET YOUR REFUND! I'm waiting for my $600 from a dress I returned over 1 month ago. It was tried on only and I returned it in better shape than I received it! I had it in my possession for 2 days! They still are holding onto my refund till it "passes inspection." They have received my return 7/20 and 5 weeks later I'm still waiting on my money back. Received one email from them to wait patiently until they get to it! Can you $#*!en believe it? Never delt with worst company.
This is not the real L&T company that had few very nice stores in New York. The stores closed and the company was purchased by a scam team that puts a customer thru hell. They have a 650 area code customer service that nobody answers and if you have an issue, you need to email or text.
I ordered something due to their 20% discount. Few minutes after i placed the order I after I found out about the scams they are capable of. Immediately, I sent them an email and text to cancel the order. It was on Sunday night. On Monday I got an answer thar the cancellation is not guaranteed and almost 48 hours passed and no other answer from them. They charged my card for $250 and my order was not canceled, processed or shipped.
I continued with emails requesting the cancellation and no feedback.
Many reviews are describing how their products are fake, or dirty, or used, and in many instances they do not return the charges.

So very bad action by whoever is managing the online shopping. For two times I ordered some boot online, I soon get an order confirmation, then few hours later I get a cancellation notification to the order! Why? Because the boot I ordered is unavailable!... What a trick! To the moment I'm setting this review, the item shows "Available" online, then when I order it, I will get a cancellation notification says that the item is unavailable! What the heck is that?
I thought I was doing business with Lord & Taylor, a store I loved that treated customers well. Not! I ordered a jacket for my daughter for Xmas. It didn't fit. They send one response and then ghost you. Then if you try to follow up via these 2 communication methods, there is no response.

Ten days now and no refund. They said they had a problem with paypal probably because they want to keep ten bucks. They do not have a phone line, just text and I think it is a chatbot. It was a very nice dress but sizing was off. I should be able to get a refund. Not happy.
Bought a food processor online 12. 16. 21. On 12.20 I had yet to receive any shipping info. I sent a text in asking if I could just cancel the order so I could order elsewhere and I was told it is already being processed. Okay. Still waiting! Yesterday 12.22 I sent another message asking because I still hadn't seen a shipment pending, and was responded to at 1:38am! They woke me up! I cannot wait to get this item, only to return it?
