“Customer service is the worst”

Customer service is the worst. I should have read the other reviews. Lycamobile can go verify this: on 5/5/2023 I used the live chat feature on their US website (my phone number is 626782**** go verify it in your log), and I wanted to ask something about my SIM card. The agent (Eyena) required me to pass a verification. That's normal. Then she asked for the 2 numbers I had called the most in the last 6 months. What? Why not the numbers I called today or something that is both identifiable and easy to give? Who expects to keep track of who I call the most? My mom, my bank, my lover? I gave some guesses but the agent denied them and then insultingly said they couldn't verify me anymore since my guesses were wrong, and when I asked for other ways to verify she refused. I have had experience with bad customer service, but never this dehumanizing. Literally they could just ask me what numbers I have called today or in the past 3 days. But they have to come up with this nonsensical test that an actual number holder STARING at the call log can not pass. I was very disappointed. EDIT: Upon the posting of this review, Lycamobile contacted me, went through the mistake, and gave me the info. So I have updated this review and increased the score to reflect my personal experience. It is not good that this happened, but it is good to know they can sometimes rectify their mistake.

I have never dealth with such inept people in all my life. We got a two month plan to start with (December 2022) and from day one, people had trouble calling me and leaving a voice message. I could at least see who called. It started Dec. 11,2022. When I called friends, they said the name on their phone said another name. I also got a call for this particular person. Then, no one could call me...said invalid mailbox. Then I couldn't call anyone, then I had no internet...it was one thing after another and I called at least 5 times and all I ever got was they willl escalate the problem to their tech team. Well, here we are in April and nothing has been fixed. (my final time with Lyca was March 29th, 2023). Pay a little more and get someone is knows what they are doing and actually have a help desk.

Most horrifying experience with lyca mobile sim... I lost my156$ and still my number not working or they don't gave me activation number and pin for port out... Please do not use this lyca...

I strongly warn against Lyca Mobile! Service in Switzerland keeps ignoring all complaints despite that they failed totally and STOLE my money:
I have bought a card with 50 GB internet plan during my travel to Switzerland. I clearly explained my needs to Lyca Mobile representative in the shop. He gave me a Lyca Mobile leaflet with promo activation, I had to buy a Lyca SIM card and initial top up. Then I was to use the leaflet to top up more via internet and later activate my package.
It did not work for 2 days, so I called Lyca support, talked over one hour and finally the representative told me they would refund my top up, as I had been mislead by sales representative. I was informed that the promo was available only for transfer from other operator, but it was mentioned in German on the leaflet so I was not able to understand, so I trusted Lyca representative.
I agreed to refund my funds and waited patiently.
After a week I asked again by email for the refund. So asked 10 times and they or answered with generic answer or finally stopped answering, did not refund money. So I was traveling through Switzerland without service, without internet and lost my money and couple of hours talking and mailing to Lyca support.
Never buy Lyca Mobile, as if you have any issues they will not help and they will steal your money!

AVOID THEM

Never give Lyca your bank details if you need a refund you will not get it they will keep your bank details. I never got my £10 back so I order free Lyca Sims from their website use the 50 pence credit and then throw the SIM card away that will cost Lyca money and that's what they get for taking my £10.

BE CAREFUL, Lycamobile steals credit from your sim card.
I've done a £20 top-up second part of November 2019, went on a 4.5 weeks long holiday, during this period Lycamobile sim card mysteriously stopped working and I was unable to make calls whatsoever.
After returning back from holls I've contacted Lycamobile via email to complain, unfortunately they did NOTHING to resolve.

Their unprofessional and unreliable customer service team (I'd say based in India), STEAL YOUR MONEY and drag investigation for 2-3 months, until you/customer give up.

I've sent numerous emails and nothing, literally NOTHING serious was done to investigate and resolve.

SICK OF LYCAMOBILE/ INDIAN THIEVES!

Smh...wowww...wish 0 starz was a option...bought a Sim online for a unlimited plan during Cyber Monday. Signed up for AutoRenewal to receive a discounted rate. Days later i get my Sim with email information on my PUK code and info to activate. I get online to activate and it tells me that my pin code (which i have right in front of me on email) is incorrect. I then call the Customer Service number and it does not allow me to speak with anyone. Automated system keeps giving me a option to buy airtime that is already paid for. WASTE OF TIME. Ordering a new Debit card to avoid autopay charges. I should've known better

The absolute WORST customer service I have had ever. I would never in a million years recommend lycamobile to anyone. They have been charging my account monthly for 8 months after using their service for only 2 weeks on a trip to the UK. I have been trying to get my money back as well as take my card off file. They have answered only 1 email in the last 7 months, and have said that they don't have enough information to locate my account. Bull$#*!, when I signed up it asked me for my email and phone number. They obviously have that on file. WORST SERVICE EVER DON'T THINK ABOUT IT.

Lycamobile is an awful company who will STEAL your money. Here is what happened to me-

When it was time for me to leave the United States and stop using my lycamobile SIM card I contacted Lycamobile Customer Service and received instructions on how to ''turn off auto-renewal''. I followed their instructions. This is all documented through an email conversation back and forth between myself and their Customer Service representative. A couple of months later I noticed something strange in my account... a charge from Lycamobile. I checked the months before that and realized they had never stopped charging me. Auto Renewal had never been turned off. I contacted them about this and they said there will be no refund because it says in their contract that ''once the money has been taken they do not give any refund''. I showed them the email conversation between myself and their customer service representative where I followed their steps for auto-renewal to be switched off. They would still give no refund. I was shocked that they would take 4 months of payments for a service I never used and I followed THEIR instructions to terminate and they still let this land on me. I went back and forth with their customer service team for a month and they offered me 1 refund. So they charged me 4 times, but only refunded me for 1 month. They stole 75.00 from me for nothing and never made it right. I am here to tell you watch out for these people, they will STEAL your money and they will not give it back. It doesn't matter if it was their own error, they will not give you any decency.

Tip for consumers:
Do not buy from Lycamobile. They will STEAL your money. After your contract is over they can continue charging you at no fault of your own but because of THEIR error and they will NOT give you a refund or return.

The worst support ever! They keep asking the same questions as the robots talking to me, not people. I want to stop working with them and only save the number, provided all the needed information to generate CVP code, and the only solution is – could you please provide us with the information I HAVE ALREADY PROVIDED BEFORE... Never get LucaMobile operator!

First: This review applies to lycamobile.de

Ordering a SIM December 19 2018 -- Delivery took over two weeks, finally arriving January 4 2019. Silly me having had it topped with 30 Euros right away.

There is no way to activate the damn thing online. Help menu has a reference, but that only opens a shop finder, which returns exactly two shops in my region - the Indian way I presume.

However, while both sell the crap, neither does registration. Support is a joke. First mail took over 24 hours to get a dumb reply. Calling support was equally fun.

First call confirmed two shops, but said one of them had registered a card on December 5 2018. Back again to the shop, no registration nowhere. Calling support again, and was told there were many shops in other places.

Yeah, and I believe they have booze in China too. How stupid is that? Do they really expect me to spent time and money to travel around trying to register a silly SIM? Already wasted most of Saturday and a little over 10 Euros. For that I could have bought any other SIM, plus credit, plus register, plus...

Screw Lyca! That's just about as rubbish as it can go. Every fart has its own website, every other phone company provides online registration via Post Ident or similar. But Lyca? Nope. Definitely off my list, and recommending only NOT to use.

Ordered sim on Jan 30, sim delivered on Feb 3. Called in customer service to activate the number as well as port in existing number, he asked about 8digt activation which I never received yet writing this review. Number was successfully ported into Lyca but it is not activated, and then journey of frustration, humiliation, guilt and anger started. Customer service is pathetic, lack of knowledge, arrogant, rude and unprofessional. Back office team is the most incompetent group of people I have ever came across, literally after 8 days they are not able to activate my plan, worst feeling is I got stuck as my number is with Lyca without activation so I cannot even port it out to other network. WORD OF CAUTION THINK TWICE OR MORE BEFORE DECIDING TO GO WITH LYCA. You may end with all of the same or more I have gone still continuing on the voyage. One word for Lyca #Shameful

I would not recommend any one to switch to Lyca as you will end having nightmares about this decision

Paid for 1 year offer, received SIM card, activated, but the net work is on and off for several times in a hour.

Many times Talked to the customer service agent, nothing happened, waste of time and energy, tried many many more things as they said but does not work

Created request to the manager for a call but no respond for a week

Asked them, can I move to another service with the same number; answer is: they cant provide it because..., can i request refund: yes it takes few days and after that SIM card may not be active

When SIM card is not active, I cant port to another services

I want to use the same number (it is very important), I cant move to another number because they do not provide it together with the refund and if I ask for the refund the SIM card will be inactivated

LycaMobile completely cheated to me?

Never ever use LycaMobile

Tried to ring lyca mobile got held up for 15mins and tried again after 10 mins same waiting time now given up will try another service provider. Toped up five pounds didnt ring much and five pounds disappeared, will NOT recomend

Bought a SiM topped up £5 tried ot make a call, was told I had insufficient credit, called th e helpline, was put in hold then explained the issue, was tld it was being passed to the tech team and my credit would be applied in 24 hours.

24 hours later still insufficient credit, called the helpline again and was told my £5 had been used on mobile data in the background. Asked if I wanted to top up again

Worst SIM card for USA. Data plans don't work well in USA. Multiple calls to customer care later also the problems remain. Never buy this brand sim for USA. Money will go down the drain.

So bad612 then at least 20min waiting for call after still need to waiting for itI choose translate the Chinese of 612, but after someone pick up the phone still speak English, then again pass me to the someone who speak Chinese still need to waiting for it, waste my time.

Hello Everyone
I would like to inform you that I have placed an order of new lyca sim with their Christmas offer and recharge amount through online on 20th Dec 2021. It took nine days to deliver the order from their end. There is no information of recharge coupon in that shipment. Then I talked with customer care and informed about the same. He told me to write down on email on our email address *******@lycamobile.se and he have given reference number for the registered complaint. Today when I talked with customer care again to confirm the status of reference number registered on Wednesday (last week of 2021) she told me that our colleague entered wrong email address in our system and you have to write email on aforesaid email address and send the copy of payment and order number. I think that they are only making fool to people because when you'll talk with them, they are saying that we have not received any mail or call from your end. There is no satisfactory reply either through email or telephonically on customer care number(3332). Now I am thinking that I have wasted my money and time in choosing their services. I therefore humbly request to every foreign nationals that please think twice before choosing lycra service. Please go for another network.

I am a Lycamobile US Customer. As a a new user I purchased a SIM ($19 bundle offer at $5 with 2GB data) with AutoRenew as Yes as per the offer. To my surprise, after 1.5GB data internet stopped working and they said my iPhone was not 4GB enabled where I consumed 1.5GB data with same phone. Now after 1 month validity expiration, they are saying Auto renew was OFF during purchase and hence they cant offer me $5 as recharge. I have clearly share their order details where it was clearly mentioned that Auto Renew was YES during purchase. Now I did not recharge since last 5 days and they are still playing blame game. Even the customer care people are not responding properly on time.

Never go for this telecom provider

Lyca mobile Is the "WORST" phone service of all. They offer the lowest phone plans(which you get what you pay for) I brought my som a new unlocked Iphone because I wanted him off my current plan so I was internet shopping for a cheap plan he could afford so I can across these scammers. They had a promotion for $5 so I decided to port in my existing phone number and now I am unable to transfer my phone number out because they don't want to give me my account #/pin. They said my phone Is not setup on auto renewal which It Is they tried to take $5.25 out my account. They also say my account Is suspended and thats part of why they cant give It to me. They said thats company policy. They also said they cant even see my account info. I have never ever heard that before. I have never had a hard time trying to get my account info. They want me to verify info first before they give you your account info they verify when you first call not to just get your account #/ pin. They offer the worst customer services, their agents are extremely rude, untrained, and hang up the phone themselves without resolving issues. They said If I make a payment then I can get my account info. I don't want to stay with them and have been calling them to provide me with my account/pin info which they claim they provide after their stupid verification process which requires frequently dialed phone numbers and every time I provide them with the right ones and then they say oh we cant give It cause Its suspended I just want my account Info so I can transfer out ASAP.

Because of me you have 1000s of simcard activations and money every where in switzerland, give me what i pay for or il just stop spredding youre cards. Im on youre service for 13 $#*!ing years deepthroat biatch. Youre not just harming users data speed, youre hurting everything people watch and suport. Sometimes youre data is like a $#*! in youre mouth deepthroat $#*!

AM on May 2nd I received confirmation of the purchase of a 60GB bundle for my iPad from Lycamobile. After 15-20 minutes use in the morning I discovered that I had been cut off so reported the fact that afternoon. I was informed that I had used all 60GB and have since been sent my billing history which I can't make sense of.

The general consensus is that 30GB should be good for (1) 85 hours of standard definition video, (2) 725 hours of music, or (3) 1,200 hours of browsing the internet. Which begs the question what's wrong with Lycomobile's systems which cause them to insist that I used 60GB inside 20 minutes when it should have lasted 2,400 hours. Despite the billing history it is simply unsustainable to continue to insist that I used used 60GB or even 30GB in either 20 minutes actual use or by any other means within the few hows before reporting the issue.

Unsustainable it is which is probably why they haven't replied. Is it any wonder that the word "thieves" is repeated so often in respect of Lycamobile on facebook.
