The night before a morning flight I scheduled a Lyft pickup from my Miami hotel. Litetally 5 min before the pickup time my ride disappeared from the Lyft app. Frantic (because the next available time woul result in me missing my flight), I try to find what's wrong. Finally clicked on Payment where it says "update credit card information." Which I did. But, ride was gone, resulting in me trying to secure a ride with another hotel guest going to the airport. Why on earth wouldn't the message Regarding updating the credit card come through before the last minute question are really horrible way to run a business.
They caused me to miss my flight after the driver failed to show up on time. Then when I booked anther ride to go back home in the same day and after waiting 2 hours the driver again failed to show up. Someone told me that they do that when the drive in too long and they don't want to be traffic so they delete the order without even a notice. Big 0
Twice: once from home to airport, once from airport to home. The ride was scheduled, and everything seemed to be in order. Then shortly before scheduled time, the ride "disappeared" from the Lyft site, with no indication of what had happened. Left me stranded, and had to impose on a neighbor to get me to the airport.
I wanted to love Lyft. I wanted to support the company after hearing they had donated to one of my fave non-profits. But both times I used them: a) the drivers spoke very broken English and I had to keep asking them to repeat themselves, b) both of them asked me where I wanted to go after I had entered it on the website, and c) one of them asked me how to get to the airport. Gotta do better, Lyft.
1 Their program does not pay for the 10-15 minutes it takes to go pick the client up. (gas is not cheap)
2 Rides somehow get cancelled and even though they see it on their end, they will not pay you for it.
3 They tell you that your ride is 4 minutes away, but they do not tell you that the destination is 40 miles away.
This company needs alot of help. STAY AWAY
I had an encounter with a rude driver he told me very disrespectful things and made me feel so unsafe and uncomfortable.when I went to tell customer service they didnt help at all and sided with him all they did was tell me they wont put me with him
If you buy a gift card with Lyft and not using a credit card they will hold your funds and lock your account if you don't tip a driver a so-called driver they assume you should have tipped I guess service sucks
I usually dont go on rants, BUT! Lyft took money out of my account even though I DID NOT for a ride. Unlike Uber, Lyft doesnt have a customer service feedback on the app, so there is no way for you to speak to an representative at all. Save your $$$$$$$$
Requested trip to airport and was told driver 5 minutes away. When contacted driver to correct slight error in pickup address, he was in fact 25 minutes away. Had to cancel ride and get Uber. Uber really was 5 mins away as stated
The driver did not text me at arrival as requested. He did not wear a mask and did not use any hand sanitizers as per Lyft rules. I couldn't figure out how to use seatbelt at the back seat so ended up not using it. The floor by the back seat was dirty, and some squieaky sounds emanated from out back. The driver did not show turn signal when turning or changing lanes. There was something wrong with the passenger side tires as a pedestrian noted and notified the driver, to which driver replied with, I know. I tipped him anyway and Lyft still requested to tip afterwards. I had no way to leave this review or a feedback on Lyft website or app so am doing it here. I hope to never use Lyft ever again and don't recommend.
I recently tried to apply to become a Lyft driver, as I was already approved with Uber. I was denied the opportunity to earn an income as a driver because of "something?" In my background check. I read and understood there terms, I have no violations under there quidelines. There phone number is BULL$#*!! No one EVER answers! Had ask the email "agent" what in there did I not qualify for? They would not Answer! Horrible company, I see hundreds and hundreds of complaints about them... my advice, go with UBER! UBER! UBER! They are 100X better!
Today I paid for the "express" (the faster one) ride. I had to pay more to get a faster ride (which is correct), but I don't pay more to wait 20 min. For a ride to get another driver (I had to wait again 25 min) when they were 5 min from me. I'm very disappointed this is not the first time that this happens.
Lytf is a new kind of taxi service where a regular person in their car (usually adorned with a giant pink mustache on the grill) picks you up and gives you a ride somewhere and then you give a "donation". It works through an app on your phone. The app is only so-so designed; as of the writing of this review it requires Facebook to sign in. And the map thing is a bit finicky. In my experience it is a little bit cheaper than a regular taxi, but there aren't always drivers available. But the idea is good and hopefully will bring down taxi fares. It also seems like a reasonable way to make some extra money driving people around if you have some free time and don't mind driving around strangers. I should also mention there is a review system for drivers AND passengers so it puts some pressure on people to be nice.
I have been using lyft a lot. I always preschedule my rides. However, I've used priority. If priority starts 5 to 6 minutes. I expect a driver on 5 to 6 minutes. But the driver will accept the ride knowing their 12 minutes away and we still have to pay priority. This is no longer a priority pickup if it matches the 2nd pick up option for less cost. Why not automatically change the price? Obviously, we're not getting the priority service. It's a rip off and I can't wait until my truck is out of the shop.
They regularly place two "temp auth" holds for the same ride, plus two holds for the tip on the ride. I rarely see those funds released back to me. They are literally robbing me and I have no way to resolve it.
I have been a driver for Lyft for almost three years. The platform just permanently deactivated me because a mentally unstable driver decided to write in and tell them I ran over his toe. This did not happen and the claim was unfounded and false. But Lyft still deactivated me after doing 5000 rides in two and a half years. They do not care about their drivers which is causing most of us to move to other rideshare possibilities, which then leads to no drivers in your area and high prices from the app. Lyft does not care about its drivers, nor its riders, which means that they will be folding very soon, as they are not able to keep drivers happy, and therefore are having to raise prices severely for drivers that don't exist.
I used Lyft in Toronto for NYE. Preordered the Lyft with my credit card and left my card at home for the night. Immediately after my 70$ payment was taken, my card was put on hold because lyft tried to charge my card an extra 180$ seconds later, and then a few hours later tried to charge me an extra 140$. I am beyond mad. SCAMMERS
I was treated with blatant disrespect by a driver named Nyi who didn't speak or understand English. He screamed at me that he was at my location, which he wasn't. When I explained where I was, he screamed more. I never got a rude yet was charged. There is No phone number to call to work this out. Now I wait to see if the company answers my emails.
I have been using Lyft almost daily for over a year. The rewards program really is useless. The company just added the rewards program to portray some kind of gesture. If I'm using Lyft because I don't have transportation why in the heck would I be collecting rewards through flights. Smh. Only using app because I have to. Real rip off.
After driver picked me from the airport EWR, driver claimed I puke all over his car. Claimed was placed 30-45 minutes after he dropped me off. LYFT failed to call me or inform me. LYFT failed to compare coordinates of the driver vs my house. Puke on pictures look clean as the driver probably used oatmeal to fake vomit.
Answer: They randomly out of the blue deactivated my account. This was there explanation. We found your account to be violating our Terms of Service and you will no longer be able to use the Lyft platform. I can honestly I have not violated anything so clearly there is something wrong with there information but the worst thing is they dont even tell you what the problem is. Oh well guess take my business to uber instead.
Answer: Lft runs different promotions and depending on promotion they promise a signup bonus(500-1100$). Now if they really pay the bonus it's totally up to their discretion.in my case they didn't pay. I completed the 60 Rides required in the first 30 days, which was the requirment to qualify for the bonus but they still didn't pay. After a brief email exchange with a lyft employee(they do not give their position or full name) they stopped answering. Now I am filing a complain with BBB and I will let you know where it goes when I have updates.
Answer: Lyft's customer service is terrible. If they won't correct it, file a dispute with your credit card company.
