Lyft has a rating of 1.2 stars from 902 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about Lyft most frequently mention customer service, credit card, and phone number problems. Lyft ranks 38th among Car Sharing sites.
So if you're 2 minutes late coming out they can charge you for it. If they are 2+ minutes late picking you up the price sure does not go down. As you're standing in the cold watching them turn around several times etc.
I booked Lyft to pick up a friend first, then me, and finally take us to downtown L.A. At the scheduled arrival time, I received a call from the driver, who informed me he was at my friend's address. However, he gave me a different address that was about 2 miles away. He claimed we were no-shows and said he was leaving. Shortly after, I received a text saying I would be charged $10 for the no-show. The issue is that the app had confirmed the correct pickup and drop-off locations in the proper order, which I documented with a screenshot. It seems the driver may have used this situation to avoid the trip and still collect a $10 fee for a bogus cancellation. Contacting customer service was nearly impossible, and navigating the app to file a complaint was frustrating and time-consuming. After about 15 minutes, I was finally informed that I would be reimbursed the $10. At the very least Lyft should verify ride cancellations with customers before applying charges. Due to the delay, we missed our seats at the concert and had to stand for the entire event. The experience was extremely disappointing.
I was driving for them for 3 days. You will work for less than a minimum wage. But the difference is that you own al the risks. Lyft is only business for the client and Lyft itself. I worked 9 hours straight one Friday, made 90 miles to my car, for only $86. Remember, you have to pay for the gas, for the insurance, for the car.
So my car was in the shop so I had to lyft my daughter to work in back home well on her way back home at 10 at night her driver was on the phone was driving like he had a few drinks etc. I reached out to lyft they did nothing...
I got a new phone and new number and for 5 days I have been trying to recover my Lyft account. Today they finally changed my phone number but a different name that is not me. For 5 days I have gone thru hell with something that should have taken 5 minutes on the phone with a human. They should be ashamed of themselves and after this week of hell I am going to delete the my account and never use them again.
Lyft stole my rental deposit my tips and my wages from driving don't drive for them you'll just end up paying almost a thousand dollars and the express pay doesn't work at all they wont pay you anything and dont even try to contact lyft support they'll just lie to you over and over and give you the run around
I take short 'round robin' trips. A lot of people do in the Buffalo area. To the convenience store, to pay a bill, etc. It took both Uber and Lyft a few months to figure out how to do this in Buffalo. To start, even though I had a 50% off credit and the trip would be $10 before the credit, they would put a $15 hold on my card. I thought that was too much and I complained They gave me credits. NOW the hold is $25. So today I get to the store 1 mile away and my card declines in the store, for my 3 items. I had to go home empty handed and the hold wasn't removed until the total $5.85 fare was paid. I had to then call Liberty Yellow cab to go back to the store.
ZERO customer service. I got stuck at sna and needed a ride. I saw the promo code and thought great id try it. BAD MISTAKE. The promo code installed incorrectly. No way to change or cancel. No way to change or cancel the order. I GOT SCREWED. No customer contact number. The only way was email and ZERO response. As soon as they got my money, complete 180. Of course form letter responses and brush off. They could care less and the attitude to the customer is predatory. Ill go back to uber. NEVER AGAIN! These people are CROOKS!
Lyft left me stranded for 6 hours 3 times now. Most recently on 10/23/21. I waited for 6 hours on a ride that never came. The police were called and asked me why I was standing around for all that time and that I had to get off the property. So I had to call a cab company to give me a ride home. 100 more dollars for the cab. Thank you Lyft for stranding me 3 times now. What a pleasant ride
Every Lyft driver has been canceling on me because they see how much money I pay for the ride. I think it is NOT fair that just because I cant pay more that $15 for a ride that I dont get one at all. There shouldnt be the wait and save option then. Lyft and uber are really bad and I have heard a lot of people getting kidnapped lately.
I requested a ride from Lexington Missouri to Kansas City MCI airport on the morning of January 25th. Driver did not show within the agreed upon time. Tried to follow up to see if he was on his way no way to do that. No one to talk to no customer service to call. I had to call an fried and ask if they could take me and thankfully they could. It could have been a big disaster not getting to the airport and catching my plane. I cannot count on these guys. I will not use them again. I am deleting the app. I was not charged.
I recently tried Lyft and found that it was quite a bit more affordable than taking a cab. Usually I take the subway, but for those late nights it's a nice alternative to the subterranean schlep. The drivers are always friendly, and you don't have to deal with any of the usual disruptions of a pleasant ride such as chemical smells covering up the stench of last night's frat boy puke, no over-bearing cheap cologne, and no annoying forced commercials.
If you have time to wait for a ride it's a far better experience and for a fraction of the price.
When he arrived temperature in car was very high, only ventilation was working. When he was driving in Gunn Hwy I asked him turn on conditioner but He didn'tunderstand English! And he suddenly stopped! It was dangerous for me and my daughter! How they hiring people who don't know English? When I did request to get my money back they told me that I'll get it back but I didn't get anything!
My dad's debit card was used fraudulently at this and other sites. Lyft did a quick investigation and determined it was fraud and refunded his money. (Grubhub refused to provide a refund after they determined it was fraud)
I had a pickup scheduled at 1:30 A.M. at the Detroit Airport. I was waiting outside for them and at exactly 1;30, they sent me a message stating that my ride had been cancelled. No reason and no backup ride coming. So there I was at 1:30 in the morning at the airport with no ride. Never will I use them again nor recommend them.
I tried every avenue to let Lyft know that a driver put me in danger. They refused to reimburse me. They ignored my reviews. I will now dispute with my bank because no woman should feel vialated or scared during her ride home and have Lyft ignore it.
I was a 5 year customer but because of this I have deleted the Lyft app and will only Uber in the future. When you no longer care about your customers, I no longer care to support your business.
I had an encounter with a rude driver he told me very disrespectful things and made me feel so unsafe and uncomfortable.when I went to tell customer service they didnt help at all and sided with him all they did was tell me they wont put me with him
I needed a ride from the Galveston port terminal to the Houston airport. I ordered the ride and waited over an hour for a driver. I was told it would be a 45-60 minute wait. After 60.minutes i was told there was no driver available. No apology nothing.
This is my favorite service! I prefer finding a trip on Lyft instead of going on a bus or a plane. First of all it's usually cheaper, second of all you can meet tons of nice people and have a nice chat during a trip.
I have used Lyft two times and almost a third. The first time ever using it, I was forced to pay 50% extra of my bill to "encourage more people to drive". I had a job interview and no other way to get to it so I had to pay. On the way back, luckily I wasn't forced to pay extra, but my bill for two 20 min rides was over $40. The third trip I planned on taking told me I had to pay 100% more to "encourage people to drive". That is absolutely insane! I am a college student! This trip was 30 min drive both ways meaning, plus the 100% extra, the trip would be over $80! I would rather walk both ways! I understand it can be busy, but not even telling me how much the trip should about cost and then forcing me to pay so much extra is horrific!
Horrible! I normally like lyft but this past week I had to uber because my car didn't have insurance. As we're in the car the guy is acting like he doesn't understand me or where we're going. As I go to get out, I realize I left my CAR keys in his back seat! So I called him, he hung up. I than called Lyft, and it's been 4 days since and they keep saying they have not heard from from the driver and they basically are acting clueless and don't know what they're doing! How are enough NOT able to get ahold of YOUR drivers? Now I don't know what to do. Someone has my car keys and they're not helping.
They caused me to miss my flight after the driver failed to show up on time. Then when I booked anther ride to go back home in the same day and after waiting 2 hours the driver again failed to show up. Someone told me that they do that when the drive in too long and they don't want to be traffic so they delete the order without even a notice. Big 0
I tried to get a ride home from Marshfield Wisconsin hospital to Curtiss Wi they said charge would be $53,74 They double billed me and no one ever showed up or contacted me. Ended up having to rent a motel room for the night and getting another service that cost almost double of what lyft claimed they were going to charge me to begin with Customer service is a joke No way to contact them except by email and even then they try to give you the rules. Around. Contacted my credit card company and disputed charges for service I never recieved from lyft and being double billed for a ride that never contacted me and failed to show up. I will never again try to use lyft for any reason.
Lyft has no respect for people earning a living with their company. I was driving during a winter storm in St Louis on Sunday and got all passengers to their destination safely. I have put miles and time into Lyft and they deactivated me like yesterday's trash. I was a 5 star driver. I can't even change where to send my remaining money I have left in my account. Everybody I spoke with changed their answer on why my account was deactivated. They say do to safety reason they can't tell me about. I can't even defend myself against this horrible situation during Christmas. My children was depending on me now there will be nothing under the tree. People lie for refunds everyday. People lie for refunds everyday.
I installed the Lyft app the other day to get a 5-minute ride from Tampa Airport to a nearby hotel.
Driver was 7 minutes away, then allegedly showed up although was nowhere in sight. I was standing right outside the terminal in the pickup area. Driver was not there.
Then the driver abruptly departed and I got hit with a $5 cancellation fee. I disputed it and canceled my credit card.
Every single experience I've had with Uber and Lyft involves this scam - the no-show cancellation scam where they ding you $5 and don't bother to pick you up.
Enough is enough with Uber AND Lyft. Will never use these ripoff scam services again.
I scheduled a pickup for a ride to the airport days in advance. The pickup time was scheduled for 430 am and the driver cancelled at 425 am. Needless to say, this was a horrible experience. I could not get another driver in time so I had to drive myself to the airport at the last minute which was a HUGE inconvenience to my family. The customer service response was just as bad. I will NOT use LYFT again. EVER!
Twice: once from home to airport, once from airport to home. The ride was scheduled, and everything seemed to be in order. Then shortly before scheduled time, the ride "disappeared" from the Lyft site, with no indication of what had happened. Left me stranded, and had to impose on a neighbor to get me to the airport.
Rideshare with Lyft. Lyft is your friend with a car, whenever you need one. Download the app and get a ride from a friendly driver within minutes.
