Lyft has a rating of 1.2 stars from 901 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about Lyft most frequently mention customer service, credit card, and phone number problems. Lyft ranks 38th among Car Sharing sites.
So if you're 2 minutes late coming out they can charge you for it. If they are 2+ minutes late picking you up the price sure does not go down. As you're standing in the cold watching them turn around several times etc.
I booked Lyft to pick up a friend first, then me, and finally take us to downtown L.A. At the scheduled arrival time, I received a call from the driver, who informed me he was at my friend's address. However, he gave me a different address that was about 2 miles away. He claimed we were no-shows and said he was leaving. Shortly after, I received a text saying I would be charged $10 for the no-show. The issue is that the app had confirmed the correct pickup and drop-off locations in the proper order, which I documented with a screenshot. It seems the driver may have used this situation to avoid the trip and still collect a $10 fee for a bogus cancellation. Contacting customer service was nearly impossible, and navigating the app to file a complaint was frustrating and time-consuming. After about 15 minutes, I was finally informed that I would be reimbursed the $10. At the very least Lyft should verify ride cancellations with customers before applying charges. Due to the delay, we missed our seats at the concert and had to stand for the entire event. The experience was extremely disappointing.
I was overcharged two separate times in one night. The worse part is there is NO way to get a human customer service rep on the phone.
I will only use UBER from now on
I don't have an account with Lyft and have never used the app or service. I have three charges on my debit card all from Nov 14,16. They do not have a phone number that will allow you to talk to someone only an email. I was emailed that someone named Scott opened an account using my debit card information. They also told me if I know this person I should discuss this with them. I told them how can I find out who did this with them only providing me a first name?! I've asked three different times for the information of these three different transactions and they will not give me the information I have requested. I want to know what city and state this happened and where the person went for their free rides. It would be more comforting to know if this was just a random hack or if it was someone I know considering my card is still in my possession. Considering they will not give me the information I am requesting it sure makes me think Lyft is the one committing these fraudulent charges so they can make money and then claim the money they steal from innocent victims on their insurance.
Dear Lyft #Lyft … we are not impressed with your customer service. I cannot find a phone number or an email to reach you. Your "help" button on the app is worthless. I wanted to let someone know of our poor experience with your driver named "Bogale" in Las Vegas, Nevada. In the future I think we shall find another company to use for rides.
Our ride from the Excalibur Hotel to the airport arrived quickly, and we got in, headed out. Within a minute he stopped the car (he didn't speak English) he pointed to his phone and seemed to ask us a question… as he pointed to his phone the word written in red letters said "HAMMED!" We didn't know what he was saying nor did we know what that word meant. He mumbled something we couldn't understand and he turned the car around. He took us back to the hotel! He took our luggage out of the trunk and made us get out. He left.
I attempted to get another ride but of course I had to cancel the first ride. They charged me $6 to cancel! Even tho I clicked "driver requested us to cancel"!
I tried everything to report this driver and our experience but couldn't. The app was completely worthless. It was very generic and I couldn't explain what happened. It just said we wouldn't be paired with him in the future.
Thanks to Citibank I am getting the fee refunded- but it was the point that I couldn't let someone at Lyft know what he did. That makes me furious. I will not do business with a company that has no customer service.
I wanted to share this message with as many as possible in hopes #LYFT will do better for their customers in the future. Please share this. Thank you!
Driver came to my job and left me. Drove to my house as if I was in the car, wouldn't answer text messages or calls I couldn't report her because Lyft said that there is no issues with the ride so when she ended the ride I called another Lyft one minute later from my job but I thought she dropped me off I can't Be two places at once so I used the last driver to report her,I WILL NEVER EVER USE LYFT AGAIN
One of their drivers exposed me to corona and now I can't ride with Lyft! The person I talked to was very rude and basically told me I have to go see a doctor and get cleared like it's been two months and it was your stupid driver who was sick he even looked sick and now I'm being punished $#*! Lyft I'll ride Uber these people don't care the lady didn't even respond to me when I asked her $#*! Lyft!
I use Lyft and Uber. Lyft is starting to rip customers off by saying due to high volume they charge you 75 to 100% more than the actual price. That's crazy Uber doesn't do that. Drop Lyft ASAP.
Was travelling back from a trip with two very young children. Driver arrived and could tell he was very annoyed at the prospect of helping with luggage and well the drama of two kids!
I lifted the bags and packed the car and did not talk the entire way which is not like me. We arrived at the destination and I then proceeded to get the kids out of the car. The driver dumped the bags at the bottom of my drive and drove away promptly without saying a word. I could certainly tell yet again that this journey had been time consuming for him!
A day later I then received an email advising me that I had shut the seatbelt in the car which I know for a fact I did not do. Lyft then without calling or asking my side of the story proceeded to quote the terms and condition and removed $50 from my credit card on file which I told them not to without further enquiry.
The driver and the customer service was so inadequate. I liked lyft up until this point but I will certainly not be using them again. To take a drivers word over a customers without a conversation is not good enough.
Lyft is the best thing ever! I've always had amazing drivers and an amazing experience. I highly recommend it. If you need a discount code, use "rideonjules"!
Look at these idiots trying to scam people Lyft you will go out of business soon iam deleting your app trying to charger 50$ for the same dam distance as i ordered from Uber just want to say F*** you Lyft I was a loyal customer but not anymore y'all don't defssrve my time or money
I started driving for Lyft a few months ago to supplement income (about 2-3 shifts a week, 4-6 hours per shift) & I'm pretty sure that after wear & tear on my vehicle, I may have broke even. If you don't accept the crap they send your way (10 + miles away for a $2.40 fare, repeatedly) then they send you a message basically threatening to lower your rating if you refuse anything they send to you. Additionally, on several on at least 2 occassions, I traveled 15 mins to the pick-up point, waited the allotted 5 minute boarding time only to have the customer cancel and received $0 compensation. THIS COMPANY IS A LOAD OF $#*!. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!
I've been using Lyft for years. I can say that 90% of my experiencr with them has been positive. Nice drivers and pretty good company. Will continue using the service.
I have had Zero Problems with Lyft... Drivers are nice and they show up on time... I have discovered that Uber sends alot of Folks to post bad reviews just because... UBER BLOWS HARD! I AM 1000% SAFER IN A LYFT DRIVER... THAN I AM WITH ANY UBER DRIVER. Seems to me that alot of this complaints are coming from the Cincinnati and East Coast Areas... You won't find those issues around here never heard of such holds of 25.00 and credit card info being stolen in L. A. Lyft is HANDS DOWN THE BEST OF ANY OF THESE COMPANIES... THAT'S WHY THE REVIEWS ON THIS SITE CANNOT BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY SINCE IT'S PROVEN THAT HALF OF THESE COMMENTS ARE MADE BY ACTUAL UBER DRIVERS... COMPARE THE BAD PRESS BETWEEN COMPANIES AND YOU WILL FIND UBER HAS ALOT OF RUDE DRIVERS AND NOT EXACTLY STABLE MINDED AT ALL.
As a driver I ll said it not worth it I just killing my car they not pay mutch at all they not playing taxes
All paying driver taxes they take percent from my ride I have to put a gas some at my tank pay taxes it's not worth it
There are few times in life where a complete stranger can touch your heart and win you over in just one sitting. Today I was lucky to have such an experience... AND A LYFT DRIVER AT MY SURPRISE! I ask myself how is it possible to undergo a Qualifying Life Event (QLE) in a matter of minutes? Maybe it was her comforting smile upon arrival that seemed to calm my anxiousness from running late. Maybe it was her radiating spirit that magically kept my two five year olds in a trance. Or just maybe it was her compassion exhibited when I reported my sudden emergency that prevented me from proceeding to my final destination. These things could very well be variables at question but it is factual that in unfavorable moments life throws us curve balls and even passing figures have the ability to leave their mark. Deirdre S. (RKW7650) this review could never be good enough. You are truly a prize.
So I sign up for Lyft with my friends code referral complete 500 rides and get 2000 dollars looks like I'm not gettting that at all cause they made some $#*!ty blame saying that I touch someone's leg which is such a lied cause all passengers sit in the back they do this for you not to get bonus they knew that I was close to hit the 500 rides so they screw me and shot down my app so I don't accept any rides I been email them no response what so ever this people don't care they just want their money
Beware, If you load money on a Lyft Account and do not use or require their overpriced sleazy service, you will not get your money back. They are arrogant and obnoxious to deal with hiding behind their strict no refund policy. After a complaint filed with the BBB these Idiots are still practicing BAD BUSINESS, charging for services not rendered. Use UBER they are not overpriced like these Idiots and you wont be ripped off. I look forward to this Company Folding, Poor Customer Service, judging by the reviews they will be gone soon and onto a bright future bagging groceries for all of us they Ripped off.

USE UBER
A rider scheduled 2 drop off's. When I arrive at the 1st drop off the rider wanted me to cancel the 2nd drop, so i canceled. Cncelling the 2nd drop off also canceled the 1st drop off. Therefore I didn't get paid for either trip. I emailed lyft several times about this error and I was told that I would get paid the following week. Never recieved my pay as of today, a month later. I received an email stating that trip was included in a bonus, that I never saw. Giving me BS is what they did. Lyft will rip u off if u don pay attention to your earnings. I will never drive for Lyft again.
Poor customer service as opposed to get my driver referral bonus this week I haven't gotten it no deposit in my account I emailed them over 10 times no response no nothing but when I first got the first referral I got that right away but now that I can like that on told me so with that being said they suck
I have noticed a decline in the character of driver assets over the last 4 years. While driving I have been accused of being racist until my closed circuit camera played the events out back to Lyft and magically after 2 weeks of paperwork and back and forth I get reactivated.
The quality of customers in my area consists of primary uber rejects that have not been properly screened or vetted.
The quality of support resources for both drivers and customers has shrank to an abysmal low. There is no help when necessary or appropriate. ADT takes over 40 minutes to contact whatever emergency resource required at the time. There is no more phone access for drivers when customers bend the rules to their whims or let alone some of the sketchy drivers. My rating as a driver has been 5.0 for the entire 6 years I've been driving, and 5.0 as a passenger.
They deactivated my driver account based on an inaccurate report by safety holdings llc vs paying $5 for a driving abstract (corporate rate) from New York State.
When I was driving for them some of the earnings disappeared and then became phantom and would come back at times. I did get the majority of money I was due. Based solely on the experience of myself and other drivers and customers I would not return as a driver or passenger. I think the pink mustache is turning gray.

Unbelievable! I literally could not make contact with my driver. I will not use this service again. Their app does not allow two way contact when needed. It was incredibly stupid & frustrating!
No pickup. No communication. These drivers also alert a "driver is here" signal long before they arrive. Switching to Uber. Also, Lyft makes it hard to post a review.
So I got a ride today with a driver who was late picking me up and on top of that the car seat and the car was dirty and smelled so I did a review on him and then he tried to say I messed up his seats and when I tried to tell customer service this they did listen at all like they just took the driver side and would not listen to me they just keep sending messages saying that I still have to pay the 80 dollar for water damage to his seat when they where already like that hell now I'm trying to take them to court because this is bull $#*!
I am in disbelief on how terribly this company is run. I was given a card that said I could get a free $20 ride for my first ride so I used that promo code. Later on I was texted that I had 3 free $15 rides, so I got another ride that night. I was charged for both of those rides and when I filed a complaint I didn't get a response for days (I've dealt with uber a lot and they've never taken more than 12 hours to respond no matter day or time). When they finally did respond, the were 100% unhelpful by claiming that my free $20 ride offer was expired (despite no expiration date on the card) and that those 3 $15 rides were actually $5 per ride which was completely deceptive because what the text literally said was "we've added 3 free ($15) rides to your account". I know I deserve my money back but this company refuses to even communicate with me. Both my friend and I had to blow up their facebook page to get their attention at all and still all I've gotten is a vague "we'll look into it and get back to you" and of course no one has gotten back to me. It has now been a week. This company is a joke and deserves to go out of business, please don't do yourself the disservice of using them.
DONT TRUST THESE PEOPLE I was charged 102 dollars for a 37 dollar ride out of there app and don't know why I will never use lyft again inwould rather walk or buy a skate board instead of dealing with crooks I have the proof of what my ride was going to cost and I was in a camry not a luxury vehicle they screwed me big time use Uber
I'm so tired of Lyft. It's always saying your driver will arrive in "___" minutes and it takes at least 20+ minutes for me in queue not including the time that the drivers will arrive. Then, when I finally get connected to a driver they easily cancel on me. Yesterday and the day before I was waiting a whole hour in the rain when it said 6 minutes of wait time. I'm paying my good money. I have somewhere I really really have to be today and again, probably an hour wait. I don't ever write bad reviews so this is proof that they really suck. Driver made me wait 20 minutes just to cancel on me. And I get it, it's not the drivers fault all the time. Lyft needs to be better at getting more drivers on the app or don't claim it as easy access for everyone. There should be a penalty for cancelling drivers or at least raise the pay so there can be more drivers? You can't have an app where you can easily take money but not easily give access to everyone. Im a young small girl that would really like access to rides quickly for safety purposes. This is putting myself AND job at risk because I'm always arriving late to work BECAUSE OF Lyft. It never used to be like this so I never know what to expect. I wake up an hour early to book just for the same damn thing.
