They sell you junk, frequently non-functional, and even if you did purchase the insurance you do not get the $7 insurance fee back. Then if you watch you will see them resell the same junk over and over-at $7 profit each sale-- get it yet. I bought a dehumidifier once and it threw a fatal code--non-repairable. Took it back-lost $7 and they sold the same dehumidifier - marked the box-- 6-7 times. What a scam. They, mac bid, are making money hand over fist which i have zero issues with if they are not taking advantage of customers and employees.

SCAM! Selling non-working items and not permitting returns or refunds UNLESS you PAY for membership (which gets you one return per month) pay for buyers assurance fees. You also pay for a lot fee, buyers fee and taxes on items nontaxable. Their policy states " regardless of membership level ALL returns must be made within 30 days of close of auction" this is NOT honored! Mr. Macbid is getting rich on ripping people off! Buy from dept store, you can make returns on their items and NO hidden fees! Because I complained Macbid manager (Butler store) removed me from the site.

They can refuse a refund NOT MATTER WHAT. They can permanently bann you and anyone associated with you from their business, because they didn't like that they had to refund you money for an item that you bought and there was nothing in the box.
If you get banned, MAKE SURE you email them and make them close your account all together. If you don't do this then your account with still be theirs and your cc as well. To make sure they closed it, try to access it again and you'll know if they did or not.
The men who own this company have no ethics or value on their customers what so ever. They sell items without checking to see if they work or if the item is even in the box or if it is even the actual item you think you're purchasing. Then they can refuse you a refund….period. Because it in their "terms and conditions " they are great if you get what you want at a good deal with no issues but as soon as you have a issue and they have to pay out then you get permanently banned. Because " they can"
