Macy's has a rating of 1.8 stars from 1,455 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about Macy's most frequently mention customer service, credit card, and next day problems. Macy's ranks 104th among Department Store sites.
I recently ordered two robes from Macy's. They are soft, roomy and I love them. Ordering from them is easy and they deliver in a short amount of time!
I ordered a jumpsuit and within 24 hours called to cancel it. Was told that the VENDOR would respond within 24-48 hours that they received the cancellation request. Haven't heard a thing and my item is still being processed. Three days later. When I click on the tracking there is nothing there. Macys customer service rep told me it shipped. I can request a refund if the item is not here in 6 DAYS? The website said 2- days.
We have purchased several furniture items for a new home. We have experienced issues almost every time. Long delays which we can understand given the climate; however, when they manage to come, there is always something missing and they will make several attempts with still parts missing to comple the job. I don't recommend anyone to go through the same nightmare! There is no accountability even at the managerial level! Stay away from Macy's all together. I have been dealing with the Pembroke Pines furniture branch. Our sales person tried very hard but has no control over the entire mismanagement.

Stay away

I love Macy's and it has been one of my favorite stores for years, since I like the quality and selection they have. I have ordered various things online from them, a nice wallet for my mother for Christmas and various clothing items. It was very convenient to order. However, paying the bill and talking to customer service is a whole different story. For 3 plus months, I have been having trouble with their website and unable to make a payment. I waste entirely too much time trying to figure out what I did wrong and what is wrong with the site. I end up calling customer service and being put on hold endlessly. The majority of time, I get a customer service representative that speaks very poor English and does not understand me and I get no where.
I love ordering clothing from Macy's but their shoe inventory could stand to be improved. They will list shoes online and have you to wish list them but never restock them. They will continue to list a shoe as if all sizes are available but then maybe only one or two sizes are in the inventory. They also don't provide tracking numbers if you have something shipped from the store which is completely ludicrous. So if you never get the package you have no tracking number to prove it was even shipped to you.
Be warned! Buying anything that you might require assistance from customer service. First of all, shame on Macys for outsourcing their customer service to Asia. I bought a sofa from them, which I'm very happy with the sofa, but the legs were damaged. They said six weeks and I'll have new legs. I contacted them multiple times and was assured everything was fine. This started back in January. Finally I after multiple follow ups from my end, they said they're just going to replace the whole sofa. Fine by me. I called and talk to a human that set up delivery for June 6. A human. Then last week I received an email stating my furniture is ready for delivery on July 25. Again multiple phone calls and emails to Macy's. Then I finally got a hold of customer service in Asia, which was so very scripted and unhelpful. I did end up agreeing to have my sofa delivered June 13. Wish me luck.
Sorry to hear that so many people have had bad experiences with this company. I never thought to read the reviews before ordering from them. I got my items pretty fast in the mail. I only have a question for this company about the 2 items I ordered but I can't find their phone number. Other wise my experience with them is ok.
I ordered 2 pairs of heels over a month ago, only one pair arrived. I have emailed both Macy's and the delivery service Uniuni, nobody knows where my package is and I did not get any refund for it.
The pair that I received was actually with a sticker says "Floor Sample" and inside was dirty... Please post it up on your website before people make purchases

Slimy as hell! Read the fine print, you don't like your experience. Fine. They'll just charge you thousands of dollars for leaving a bad review. Talk about extorting customers. You give small business a horrible name, I will NEVER EVER EVER let you see one dollar of mine.
Kleargear.com has made national news because of small print associated with their buying agreement being able to fine people up to $3500 if unsatisfied customers post a negative comment online about the company and/or comment. They need to be out of business as victims are having their credit dinged for not paying. I AM SURE with all the bad things about them all over the net that legal action is just around the corner for Kleargear.com.
I have never had s bad experience shopping at my local macy stores. Great locations, easily accissible. Lots of parking options. I usually check out the sales in ladies wear and shoes; jewelry quality is satisfactory and also many sales. Checking out moves quickly and there is always sufficient staff and employee assistance. Returns go smoothly.
I placed my order super early to ensure my mom would get her birthday present... well her bday came and went. Order still says waiting for ups pick up. 13 days after ordering... not everything ordered at this time of year is for Christmas. Not happy.
I'd ups won't pick up the packages find another way... there are other companies who deliver packages.
Went to Macy's at Southridge Mall. Had several clothing items I wanted to purchase. I went to two different counters in the clothing area only to be told those registers were not open. I was directed to the service counter near door. There were several people in line and only one clerk. He repeatedly told us that we could check out in shoes. When he said it the 3rd time I responded, "I have been to two other counters. Both directed me here. I am done moving." I don't know if this is a staffing issue or what, but they really need to get it together.
WhyTF does Macy's send out those absolutely worthless Platinum Member coupons…Instead of listing exclusions on the back try listing the 2 items in the store they do cover. I started reading the exclusion list and realized it included the entire dam store. Send me a $5 dollar coupon and stop paying to print all of these BS $15 $25 or if you spend $200 you get $50 off….BS….My 3 orders were over $1000 dollars and I couldn't even get $15 off of $50….Out of over $1000 not even $50 qualified….It's ridiculous…Maybe that's why you have a 2.7 customer satisfaction rating…!

Don’t even waste your time with coupons

If you purchase and want to cancel they make it very hard. Can't cancel on website or order ticket. Call a foreigner who speaks no English and they lie. Have to call 30 times. They don't give their names. No supervisor. Shady. I see why Macys stock is in the toilet for years, and they are closing stores annually in big cities. The CEO should be fired and his entire strategic team.
Macys phone customer service is not in the U.S
They dont speak English or understand it. Very noisy background.Called numerous times and a simple situation like adding an apartment number to an address was not done for me. I had to put in 2 orders costing me twice the price. Shameful!
Tip for consumers:
Make sure you order correctly if you leave out information or want to make changes you have a 30 min window span. I forgot to add an apt # and it could not be done. Very troubling

Ordered some fun stuff for the office, wanted to give the place a touch of humor (accounting offices can be sooo boring) and the toilet top desk manager was hilarious. Arrived on time, and looks great.
I have worked for this company over three years and I have to say that the dot com part of macys is horrendous. Everytime I have ordered something online or placed an order in store they SCREW me over. They not only cancelled my order without notice but on their site it says it was shipped! It took them a whole damn week to tell me it was cancelled over the mail! Not even an email or a phone call. This has happened twice all within a year. The customer service is horrible once they find out you're an employee they're even worse. They could care less about you. I am going to stick to nordstrom even without discounts it's not worth the heartache.
Placed an order which they proceeded to ship all 3 items separately. Two items showed up the other item very obviously never made it to shipping, a label was created then zip. Contacted twice was told they couldn't do anything until day 10 even though it was obvious what had happened. Contacted day 11, now told have to wait 5 more days then they would process a refund which will take whose knows how long to credit. Amazon would have refunded or shipped the item 3 times in this same time period. Totally unacceptable!

Still trading on its reputation as a superior retail store, but it now sells products that aren't properly checked for quality. If the item you buy has a small flaw that you don't spot within the 90-day return window, you're on your own. Expect a snotty, high-handed tone when you deal with customer service too.
Ordered something on web for cyber, put in promo code. Paid by paypal and it took off the cyber code. Called and spoke to someone who verfied I put in the cyber code, but they cannot fix and will call me back to do the promo in a week. Fat chance of that happening. Could not get an email or anything stating this was going to happen. Macy's should be ashamed of them selves for doing such a dirty trick. *I will be looking elsewhere to do my shopping in the future. Macy's is truely not an upstadnign company anymore in my eyes.
Worst customer service ever! I purchased two items and it takes forever for them to be shipped. I called customer service because I'm going away and needed items to be expedited. They refused to expedite or cancel my purchase which no one will be here to pick up. Non one tried to even assist with my problem. If I could give zero stars I would.
What the heck happened to Macy's clothing department? It used to be my favorite place to buy clothes. Now the person who is in charge of buying clothes looks like they went to an old 1980's attic. The clothes are horrible, the displays are horrible and I find nothing I like. The only decent clothing display is athletic if that's what your going for. I guess I'll be looking for new stores to shop at.
I just wanted to clarify that it's their online customer service that needs help. In store they're pretty great. Returns are Abit of a pain as well as they have occasionally sent the wrong items and needed to be sent back. The whole process takes forever.
I've been shopping Macy's for years and I love the store. They're trendy and have a lot of great sales, especially with their credit card. The only thing is their customer service lacks some so I took a star offf

My Macys experiences are mostly great. Only problem I ever had was when a cashier forgot to remove an alarm (she did deactivate it so I got all the way home before I noticed). Service at the cosmetics counters is great though.
I have also used their chat service which is very easy to use with minimal wait time. If you don't want to hang on the phone, the reps at this service definitely have the know-how to help just as well.
I'm not going to lie, customer service in general is usually aggravating, especially when you don't/can't get the answer you are hoping for. I dealt with maces.com yesterday about a misunderstanding when applying for the credit card - they typically offer 20% off - so i decided to buy my wife a burberry purse. There is no fine print that mentions what items are excluded in that 20% - of course, burberry is one of them.
I called up customer service, very upset, and although they could not offer the discount on the purse, they sent me a coupon for 20% off another item - which is a nice gesture. I understand it's a store policy, and the agent was extremely nice, but my only gripe is that they should at least have an exclusions list.
Kleargear.com is all over the news about ripping off customers. I'm glad I wasn't one, and I don't intend to be one, and neither should you! Let this be a lesson to brash management idiots everywhere -- customers are your lifeblood, not helpless victims you can prey on and suck the life out of. Give Jen Palmer her $3500 refund due you vile deplorable slobs!
