I ordered a jumpsuit and within 24 hours called to cancel it. Was told that the VENDOR would respond within 24-48 hours that they received the cancellation request. Haven't heard a thing and my item is still being processed. Three days later. When I click on the tracking there is nothing there. Macys customer service rep told me it shipped. I can request a refund if the item is not here in 6 DAYS? The website said 2- days.

Purchased on online order on the 9th of December, got an email the next day saying label was produce with tracking number and it would be delivered on the 17th. Got no other updates, called macys on the 18th to say package never arrived and I never got updates beyond label being produced. Was told they would expedite it and I'd have it anywhere from the Wednesday before Christmas or at the latest the Monday after Christmas. But still received no updates when I clicked on the tracking number. I called Macys back on Monday, the 20th because the tracking number had not been updated, person on phone said it was on its way and should be there by Wednesday the 22nd. Nothing showed up Wednesday! Finally got an update today, not being delivered until the 30th of December, 21 days after I ordered it. People can say all they want about Amazon but at least my packages are arriving on time with them.

I went to the Macy's website and tried to purchase a men's diamond ring. It was not available in store so I tried to order it online. An offer of 20% off my purchase by opening a Macy's card popped up. I have an 820 credit score so I figured why not. I did the application and got a message to call them with additional information. I did, and had to deal with Citibank, big mistake. I've dealt with Citibank before. They are the most incompetent organization I have ever dealt with. You have to speak with foreigners in other countries. You can't understand them and they don't know what they are doing. Big companies like Macy's cut costs by outsourcing jobs that should be going to Americans and instead pay people in other countries, pitiful. They asked some basic questions and said I was approved. Then the chaos started. I tried placing my order for the diamond ring and kept being switched back and forth between credit and the online purchasing departments with long holding periods each time. Every time I was switched I spoke with a different person who gave me a different story. I finally got so frustrated I just told them to cancel/close the charge account. The next day I received an email from a credit monitoring site that reported my score dropped because of the Macy's inquiry. The whole thing was a nightmare. This was my second and last horrible shopping attempt with Macy's, never again. My advice, ban/boycott Macy's and Citibank and save yourself a ton of headaches.

I ordered a pair of shoes on 11/19/22 and I needed these shoes by 11/22/22 so I paid for express shipping they took my money in less than 10 seconds then cancelled my order and me I have to wait 7-10 business days to get my money back because they made a mistake so I don't have my money or my shoes I will never shop online or ever visit any of their stores I'm also putting this on social to expose this bull$#*! that they are doing to people and they are not doing anything to rectify the mistakes on their behalf

Do not shop here online it sucks and the the customer service is terrible

They fined a couple $3,500 for leaving a negative review. I emailed and tried to call no one answers. Good LUCK SUING ME I never did business with you and from the news reports you sound like a poopy company to deal with.

I purchased a mattress from Macy's for a new home we built in rural WI. I spoke with someone on the phone to place the order. During the call, she asked me for me delivery date preference; I scheduled delivery (which was a $200 charge for white glove delivery) for 9/27/2023. Over the next three days, I received five separate emails from Macy's, confirming our delivery date of 9/27 and that we would receive a call the day before with the delivery window.

On 9/27, received a text notifying me that delivery would occur that day. No delivery. I called Macy's and was told, for the very first time, that the delivery date of 9/27 was when the mattress would be delivered to the transport service that would deliver it to our home on some future date. They stated the transport service would contact us in 5-7 business days to schedule the delivery.

Nowhere in FIVE emails nor an in-person phone call did anyone ever share that this delivery date was not, in fact, the delivery date for us as the consumer. We had guests coming to visit on 9/29 and, as a result of this, they have nowhere to sleep. I've yet to hear from the transport company and, when I call Macy's to ask for the name and contact info of the transport company, they tell me they do not have this information.

I purchased Lancome Perfume special for christmas and because they canceld my order and did not inform me. That is there policy. When I called customer service the first time i got hungup on after I spent 15 minutes triying to find out what as the reason. Called a second time and they said it is there policy to cancel whe it is not in stock and not inform the customer. I hate Macys.

Ordered with a gift certificate and waited 10 days with no delivery. Called in to find out order had never gone through. By then the items I ordered (that were on sale) were all gone...

Very difficult to get a hold of anyone. Products not delivered in a timely manner so I had to cancel the order. After further research, I found that this site might be a scam. Avoid

Never have I ever had such a bad experience with Macy's. My package was delivered to the wrong state, and all Macy's had to say was, oh sorry. So now this "Manny" guy in some other state gets to keep and use my luggage for FREE? I want the order that I placed and Macy's said no. WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED TO MACY'S? BAD BAD BAD customer service. The only reason this review gives one star is because I was forced to choose a star - Macy's gets ZERO stars from me

I have been a Macy's customer for years but I am sad to say after visiting the Kailua Kona Macy's I will not be a customer anymore. I was sadly disappointed when I went to their store for a pair of Black Pants. Should have been an easy item to purchase but the Sales Clerk informed me that the store there does not carry any Women's sizes over an XL. Since their store normally carries plus sizes I find it strange that they would choose to discriminate against Plus Sized Women at this location but that is exactly what they are doing. It is a shame since I have always liked shopping at Macy's but if they choose to discriminate then I have no choice other than to Boycott buying anything at their store. Sorry Ladies if you want Plus Sized Clothing in Kailua Kona Macy's evidently does not want you to shop there and discriminates against larger Women. Best to spend your money some place else who wants your business

BUYER BEWARE! PLEASE COMPLETELY READ THEIR TERMS OF SERVICE BEFORE DOING BUSINESS WITH THEM. A YOUNG COUPLE GOT FINED $3,500 FOR GIVING THEM A BAD REVIEW BECAUSE THEIR TERMS OF SERVICE DON'T ALLOW THAT. SO PLEASE DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER THIS WEBSITE! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

I have always loved Macy's, but WOW! -- their customer service has gone down hill tremendously. The days of courting loyal customers and making things right is no more. Now with Macy's -- it's a hard line -- "This is our policy and we CANNOT and WILL NOT help you." Basically, you are just a number.
Recently, I made a decorative pillow purchase and when it came was not what I expected. I love the pillow, but it appeared I was getting two pillows in the picture (a bit deceptive), and based on the price. However, it actually included just one. When I called to tell them and get a price adjustment since at least 10 other retailers had this same pillow for $20 less, I was told that they could only use "their retailers" to price adjust and it could only be adjusted at the time of the sale. Now mind you the pillow could be found at Home Depot, Bed, Bath & Beyond and at least 7 other sites (none of which they approved) for $32-$44. They charged $65 on sale. How convenient for Macy's to have this policy.
This makes no sense since I thought I was getting something I did not receive -- and also, how would I know I overpaid until the product came and I realized it? I am a loyal customer, but you just lost me over $20. I will be moving over to Bloomingdales or Dillards, which actually values people over rules and processes that do not serve customers.

I ordered clothes online from macys. I PAID EXPRESS DELIVERY SPECIFICALLY BECAUSE I WANTED TO GET IT ON CERTAIN TIME. It has been 10 days and i still not received my order.
No wonder why company is sucks and not making revenue.

Buyers beware Macey has other vendors on there site I used my Macey card thought I was purchasing from Macey my package got stolen off my front porch and I had to take a five hundred dollar loss they would not refund my money never shopping there again

I purchased a bracelet, online, as a gift for $314.29. The Bracelet did not fit comfortably so I decided to return it and purchase something different. The Dept. Manager, at the Mall of NH Macy's Store, said that I only had 30 days to return it! I had not even given the gift by then! Your return policy states 180 Days. He said if you dig deeper it says 30 days for Jewelry. That's ridiculous! I should not have to click on separate links to find the actual policy! It, at least, should have been on my receipt! I was willing to exchange it or except store credit. The only thing he would do is give me $188.79 store credit, for something UNUSED, WITH THE TAGS STILL ON IT, Receipt in hand, that I paid $314.29 for! That is like stealing $125.50 from me because they are going to put that back in the case and sell it again, for full price! The Better Business Bureau might be interested in that! While at the store today I noticed that at this time of year, they give you 90 days to do full refunds on jewelry. So I know they can do it, they just did not want to. This is not the way to treat loyal customers!

UPDATE: After I was contacted by the jewelry supervisor, I have since been refunded the full amount of my purchase.

It seems like the GREAT Macy's has gone rogue and outsourcing all over the globe. Representatives in China ( and I know that because I asked them where they were working from) are not only nasty, but demeaning and not knowledgeable. They refuse to transfer to Supervisors, citing first as unavailable, then they were called to meetings. I asked for an American representative since they did not understand my responses and was told there are none. I had to spell out all my information continuously. Not even numbers in English were properly understood. They resolved nothing and made sure not to provide the " rating figure" after the chat and Call. I contacted them 5 times to have an issue resolved. I then tried again and luckily got a representative based in the Philippines, who resolved my problem immediately. Macys has no working corporate telephone contact, so complaints are not heard. This is how businesses go out of business. It's not worth our money or time during a period where people are struggling. Don't bother, use companies that value and respect consumers. I would love to know how much they are saving in paying non Americans minimum wages. Shameful! We are skipping their BS parade this year, hope Santa does too.

Tip for consumers:
Don’t use. I have not come across worse.

JUST STAY AWAY. You'll wait 3 weeks or longer for orders only to be told it's "too late to cancel" because they already shipped yet UPS or USPS have no tracking. They manage to turn 2 orders into 8 different shipments and charge your bank for each individual order as they ship. No point in calling "Customer Service" as they are numb and are obviously reading from a script.
Just forget you ever ordered anything and if you should ever get it then you can be hopefully surprised. Rest assured I will never shop online with them again. This Has nothing to do with COVID19 as they obviously have been horrible for years after reading reviews from a multitude of sites including CONSUMER AFFAIRS.
This is terrible to say but They deserve to go out of business and let's face it, NO BULL-WINKLE ON STRINGS/PARADE ONCE A YEAR IS WORTH ALL OF THIS!

First and foremost, I believe that Macy's is the best department store I've ever been to in all my years of shopping! I am an avid and loyal customer for 25 years now and always felt that they were just perfect! But recently, Macy's has changed their return policy to a strict 30 day return, which is a great disappointment to me because there are times where time slips me by and it may be a little past 30 days. I have recently encountered, a problem with an online return. I spoke to a representative within the 30 days who told me that a refund would be issued, and that there was no need to return the blouse I purchased because it was damaged. So I waited and waited for the refund, but nothing ever happened. I called and explained everything to the new representative who found no record of my previous conversation, which completely amazed me! I put in a dispute and Macy's, to my surprise, denied my claim for a silly little $39 because they said it was past the 30 days (and it was NOT). Of course, I will continue to shop at Macy's because it is my favorite store, but I am very unhappy with what happened with my return and all because of its new 30 day return policy. It really was a big disappointment to me because I spend up to $800 a month and yet they gave me such a problem for a silly $39 - just very unhappy about this new return policy!

Until today, I spent thousands of dollars a year at Macy's. I have had a Macy's card for 15 years. We are a family of 5. I've dealt with the selection downsizing the past 18 months but today was the final straw. I received an insulting letter stating that my interest rate is going to 25.99% APR. I called customer service and she stated that all customers rec'd this same letter to which I replied that it was absurd to treat your loyal, impeccable credit, lengthy perfect history customers the same as your high risk customers. I'm 52, completely debt free, own houses and 2 businesses, all debt free with the highest possible credit score and you hit me with a 25.99% APR and a humorous $3,000 credit line, whereas Master Card has had me for 10 years at a 7.99% APR and a $50k line of credit, not to mention Platinum AMEX. I only mention this because it shows the colossal disconnect between Macy's and its customers, which is a harbinger of things to come considering there are so many other options today to buy the same or similar selections. My phone call to customer service ended with me cancelling my card and my 15 year relationship with Macy's. She responded by saying that if I came back I would have to start all over with them again. I replied, "do you really think I am coming back? Save your company script for the next customer you lose."

I ordered a male dress shirt and a pair of cufflinks. I was very pleased with the service. I did not have them mail it to me because I needed them within two days so I made then a pick up at store order. I was very happy when I got a text about one hour after I placed the order online that my order was already ready for pick-up! It was pretty great. Very fast and I got what I ordered, I wish every site was as good as Macys. THEY EVEN GAVE ME A DISCOUNT I HAD NO IDEA ABOUT! How sweet is that? They helped me save money. So I will be doing a lot more shopping with this honest, and great servicing company.

I think Macys in a great store there are very nice(the people I dealt with)people there and they take back almost everything if something goes wrong with what you buy.

VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE POLICIES I returned something purchased and was given 1/2 credit on my card and then was given a gift card for the other half, I said what the heck I paid full price why do I only get half back. I was told "well you can use the gift card to shop" I will be calling corporate and retuning my Platinum Macy's Card since their treatment of their customers have become VERY, VERY, VERY POOR
