I signed up with Mandy a few months ago. Got my actor (and crew) profiles all situated, including headshots. Then my inbox gets suddenly overloaded with junk "audition gigs" and messages to change my headshots, as "there is something wrong, they are not professional" When they most certainly are! Two different photographers I paid good money to. I click into my profile to see Mandy's notes about "please change your headshots, your profile won't go public until" nonsense. I honestly gave them the benefit. But as Backstage bought them out, I believe I only wasted my valuable time creating my profile. They don't answer when you call for help. And they DO NOT respond to Contact Us.

I like this website, it's easy to use and the content is accessible. You also get emails with casting opportunities which fit your profile! Like most sites, you do need a premium membership to access some features.

I have been impressed with the high calibre of some of the jobs posted on Mandy.com recently. I've found some well paid work from it. It's also great that you can add your family members on the same account too and give them each their own profiles.

Though the free version is very limited to the info one can see, it seems to have a good variety of gigs that are posted from various media related industries. Good for freelancers. Nicely designed site.

Can't say whether or not it works just yet, but it seems like there are many good opportunities. It's a shame you have to pay right off the bat, I would suggest giving seven days free to all new users to see if it works for them.

Don't do it. I did for 5 months and after sending out over 200 applications I only got 3 replies. None of them had money, and they were not professionals.

Answer: I paid the subscription fee for a year, mainly so I can get speaking parts on any kind of production. I don't even care if they're mostly student productions, as I get film footage from them, which is very usable. However, if you're thinking of paying the subscription fee to get paid work, I would advise against it. You will not get much paid work through Mandy. If you want paid work, you're better off getting an office job that will pay far more than the NMW that's offered by most productions. I can't wait to get my necessary named speaking roles so I can join Spotlight!

Your Job Alert emails, on the other hand, are tailored to your profile and are sent out as soon as the job is posted. If you are looking to better tailor your Job Alerts, please go to your 'About me/Skills' section and update the 'Interested in' and 'Experienced in' section so that we have the information necessary to send you the best jobs for you.
