Don't do it. I did for 5 months and after sending out over 200 applications I only got 3 replies. None of them had money, and they were not professionals.
I've been in the biz for over 40 years. I've never seen a scam like this before.
The original sites for video production jobs. Lots of available jobs and it's great getting emails in real time as jobs are posted so that I can respond quickly.
If I could give this site zero stars I would. I am extremely disappointed with Mandy's service. They send out few listings and the jobs are either miles away or very shady. For the fee they are charging I can safely say this has been a scam. I'm also shocked that this site was recommended to me by an employment agency.
The site allows you to submit yourself for jobs which are mainly short films, extra work and still photography. At the moment, I'm not sure how much success people are getting but it's nice to read there are still lots of things going on in the creative industry. Good resource.

Used to be a good site, I found paying clients and also found talent for jobs I posted. Since they have teamed up or been taken over by Film and TV Pro you have to pay an expensive subscription charge. It is poor value for money especially for entry level professionals. Would not recommend.

Mandy is pretty much a sick joke if you ask me.
We had an ad running on there for a week and got high volume of interested candidates for an interactive game project, then Mandy decides to remove our ad and more or less ban us from posting jobs over there because we are new and do not have a website or all these hollywood credits and reels to show them for their so called "verification".
It's like applying for a job with the FBI just to post a darn ad for a virtual/remote acting job casting! They do not state anything about these so called requirements on their site when you sign up or spend tons of time writing and posting an ad.
You get the shoot down AFTER you spend about a half an hour doing all this.
I do not recommend this place for independents trying to do a small project or first time film makers. These clowns discriminate against the little guy. They should be ashamed of themselves.

If you live in London the opportunities and jobs on mandy are brilliant with a small range outside of the big city. Not sure of they could do with developing a short listing services which alerts you to whether your application gained any interest, and the head shot criteria was tough to pass, but the team were happy to help once I spoke them

I subscribed for one year of premium service and after 4 months they did an 'update' which rendered the site unusable. I can't apply to any job because the site never acknowledges that I've logged in (as it pertains to being able to apply for jobs).
I have contacted them 7 times over the last 3 weeks and have gotten no support. They also refused me a pro-rated refund.
As it was many of the jobs were stale, were links to other sites, or literally paying nothing, but at least the site worked for those nearly 4 months.
I am sorry to hear that our team were unable to resolve your issue. The recent update to our system only removed the ability for you to automatically log in via your email links. This change was applied to increase security on our system and has not prohibited any user from accessing the Premium features they have paid to access. My first impression is great, easy to use, a lot of jobs resource when searching for work in the entertainment, Film, TV fields. It takes a little while to set up your profile, but but it looks like it'll be worth it. Looking forward to future progress with Mandy.com
Although I've had my gripe with Mandy.com when the service was free, then changed to a subscription format, I realized why they did it. This assures everyone they are getting what they pay for, and not random job listings. Worth the extra bucks to filter the quality jobs from the not so much.

Answer: I paid the subscription fee for a year, mainly so I can get speaking parts on any kind of production. I don't even care if they're mostly student productions, as I get film footage from them, which is very usable. However, if you're thinking of paying the subscription fee to get paid work, I would advise against it. You will not get much paid work through Mandy. If you want paid work, you're better off getting an office job that will pay far more than the NMW that's offered by most productions. I can't wait to get my necessary named speaking roles so I can join Spotlight!
