“Total scam”

John C.

The only thing I noticed about this site so far is they like to push soft porn like schoolgirl upskirt ads and other stuff that is as sexualized as possible. They give the impression of being a totally immoral Communist Chinese scam site. I would NEVER buy anything from this place. It oozes sleaze and from what I have seen of other reviews I know I'm right.

Tip for consumers:
I can tell from having read a number of reviews that its a site with junk products and little or no customer service and their soft porn peddling is indicitive of the CCP underworld which has NO morals of any kind.

Worst ever site to buy anything. I bought a meridian trimmer, which was supposed to arrive within 2 weeks. From the tracking, I realized my package was shipped to a whole different place. When I reached out to the customer service via email, I got a reply from them after 3 days saying, ' they are working on it '. That's it. No product, no reply. It's been a month and I don't get replies and you cant call them as well.
And my 70$ is gone forever.

Tip for consumers:
It's a Scam, don't buy.

They offer some legit courses/subscriptions, but when you check out, they will add on some bundle that you might not even notice (since the total at the time is correct). Then, a couple weeks later, a mystery charge will appear, and you have all sorts of services you didn't want or need.

Tip for consumers:
Watch out for additional products you auto-added to your cart once you’ve checked out.

I bought software through Mashable but did not yet redeem the license to use it. After realizing that the software would not function on my system, I tried to return it but found that this is not an option. Although Mashable has a page written about initiating returns yourself they have apparently eliminated this ability.

I contacted Mashable directly the day after the purchase and they confirmed that I had never claimed the software license. However, they were unwilling to allow me to return (although they did provide store credit). Their "return" policy is for store credit only, although the policy found online is written to sound like you can get your money back. So I have paid for a software license that I cannot use and have never even seen, and my money is locked away at Mashable. Terrible company- I never write reviews but felt the need to warn others against buying from them! Please do not make the same mistake that I did!

Comment:
All of the five star reviews are 2013 and earlier. In fact there's only one for 2013 2012 and 2011. The rest are 2010 and earlier.

I read many of the most recent reviews. All are one star except one gave two stars, they'd gotten only one of two items they'd ordered but very much liked the one that came.
Unfortunately I later read somebody who bought two of that same product but both apparently stopped working after the 30 day warranty.
I wonder how things turned out for the 2-star reviewer because 2 for 2 failure rate and no return after such a short time is a bright red stop sign

I only read the reviews before buying, I have not bought something from the site.

I hope this gets posted because it's an analysis of where the company SEEMS to be now: the company has 2.5 overall but there are no recent 5 star reviews, not even a mix

I ordered a device through Mashable over a month ago. At first I got shipping information, but it soon became apparent that it was a fraud. After getting multiple responses to "hold on" when I requested a cancellation and refund, the product was shipped 5 weeks later and I've been directed to read their terms & conditions. This "store" should not be allowed to exist and anyone purchasing any item from it should consider it as losing their money to a scam!

I bought a set of Power Up Dumbbells from Mashable for my daughter as a Christmas gift. They arrived in a new, unopened box, but the dumbbells inside were missing a weight plate. It is clear that it was never packed in the box to begin with, as the styrofoam packaging shows only 4 plate indentations on the one side instead of 5 like all the others. I have tried to go back through both Mashable and Life Pro Fitness and both are totally worthless, two weeks later I am just getting the runaround and "we are looking into this" but no replacement yet. Life Pro says they can't provide a replacement weight and that I have to deal with Mashable on any returns or replacements. Mashable so far has done nothing to resolve this. It is very frustrating that two weeks after Christmas my daughter still does not have a useable set of weights and neither the merchant or the company that produces the product will do anything to help. I would be very wary of buying anything from this site.

Tip for consumers:
STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE! Company does nothing to help when you receive defective goods or need to return or replace anything. I received a brand new set of adjustable weights in box with a missing plate that renders it unuseable. Have been going round and round in circles trying to get a replacement part, or a replacement set of weights or just return it for a credit. No luck so far. Company just keeps saying they are working on it for weeks at a time. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY!

Their Website is rigged so that it does not allow you to return items even though the warranty allows it. I will be looking into an official business complaint if they don't respond with a return label.

Update: I had to work through my credit card company to get a refund but they finally gave it to me.

Tried to purchase a Microsoft Office license, it was "declined" but I was still charged. Apparently due to a influx of requests to their support (gee what a shock) it seems like there are delays on hearing back. So they basically just took my money. I have no order number, no confirmation, and certainly no product, just money taken out of my account. So until I get what I paid for, or a refund, I'm going to try and let as many people as possible know that it's possible you'll just get your money taken from this site.

I bought a car dash cam and it never worked. It is complete junk anyway, very poorly made and cheap. Because of this, I didn't even want a replacement but wanted a refund but they've stopped communicating with me. When I first contacted them about the product not working, we had a back and forth for several weeks yet when the time came, they gave me ten days to return it. So they can take almost a month to finally determine they will replace it, but give me TEN days, all of which I was out of town. I missed the window and as I said, they are no longer communicating with me. Avoid this website. They sell junk, don't do refunds, and don't stand by their products.

I was recently duped into buying a "refurbished" iMac + Wireless apple mouse from Mashable.com. 15 minutes after turning the Mac on, I regretted my decision. The iMac was so old re: its software, that it was unable to download the latest software update from apple. I had to mail the iMac back to Mashable for a replacement. The replacement was able to update its software, but I'm shocked at how slow the computer runs. It's basically a giant paperweight at this point since Mashable won't give me my money back. O, and the wireless mouse won't even turn on. Total waste of money. DO NOT give money to these crooks.

Amy-Rae Turner's article is a poorly written disgrace to English grammar. Her Mashable article "11 free online writing courses" cannot seem to grasp the use of the word good, especially as it compares to the word well. "... Write Real Good?" "Write Gooderer?" Pitiful.
Is this Mashable's best?

Save your money and avoid Mashable. They take your money and don't take ownership of customers' problems with purchases. I ordered a software product via a Mashable review and the installation failed. Two weeks of going back and forth with them has gotten me nowhere. Instead of refunding my purchase as I initially requested - and fixing the problem - they pawned it all off to the software developer, who keeps sending flawed installation instructions that include broken links to nonworking websites. They've replaced customer service liaisons in the middle of my ordeal, indicating that the original person I worked with quit or was fired. I've learned my lesson, and will never trust Mashable again.

This company sells products or promotions that do not work, they refuse to provide refunds for selling you nothing, and their customer support is no help. This is complete robbery and no one should ever buy from them. They provide no mention that their products only work on a desktop, and being a mobile user, had no way of using the product. Will never buy from again, and will make sure everyone knows about my horrible experience and what a rip off this company is!

I ordered a charger for apple ear buds. The connector don't fit in my apple devices and are very obviously bad knockoffs. When you try to return, the link for doing so does not work. They just stole $40 from me.

I purchased an item recommended by Mashable through the website. The charge was converted to a foreign currency and processed by Stack Commerce. A few days later, the order was confirmed and I was given a tracking number which linked to a site stating the shipment had left the " sorting hub" and would be delivered within two weeks. Keep holding your breath! No delivery... nothing. Mashable states simply "We have nothing to do with shipping!" What then do you do? Allegedly, the actual vendor says "It's held up in Customs" but I happen to know that's false. So... Mashable ( Stack Commerce) has my money... and I have nothing. And my requests for a refund have been ignored. Amazon they are not! A fraudulent scheme? I don't know but the California AG moght generate an answer to that question.

Mashable completely scammed me with a "Platinum Sonic Toothbrush" that was advertised as though it were a Phillips or another popular Sonic Toothbrush. I can't believe I fell for the scam, but I did. AND there are no refunds or returns! This is a completely fraudulent shopping site. Take some time and research any product that they advertise. Unfortunately, they won't give you enough information to know exactly what you are buying, so BEWARE.

We ordered 6 items from this site. We only received 2. Probably dumb luck on our part. This company claims to have good customer service but simply does not follow through. Our USPS mail was on hold for a week and Mashable Shop said that one of our items was delivered during that time frame. How odd it is that something can be delivered when it is on hold! Hopefully other customers read the reviews before purchasing. They have our money and will not give a refund or resend our lost or not delivered items.

Don't use this site.

I bought an Ipad that I decided to return. Per their website, I knew they would deduct shipping. They did. The shipping to me was $3.30. The return shipping via USPS was $76.51. When i inquired this is the line they gave me. "Return shipping costs are calculated based on the weight and dimensions of the product(s) being returned. This cost is automated by the system and is unable to be altered or edited. Sincerest apologies for any inconvenience or misunderstanding." Draw your own conclusion. Online ripoff?

Tip for consumers:
That the return shipping was going to be ridiculously expensive.

We ordered a product over 5 months. Never received the product. They refuse to refund money after 5 requests! Bruce continues to provide fake shipping information and they totally ignore our refund requests. We have reported this company to the Feds. They should not be allowed to solicit customers via email then take their money, never shop products and refuse to issue a refund.
They are awful and keep closing the compliant tickets.

I bought knives for x-mas presents, still haven't received the product and when I email they tell me that the payment is pending when it was charged to my credit card a month ago... Emailing back and forth, I keep getting different reasons why I am not getting my items. They will not give me a refund so I had to escalate this with my credit card company. Why is this so hard to figure out on their end? Or is it a scam?

The site takes forever to load and is far too crowded with flashing hoverable stuff. Yeah, there's a lot of good stuff there, but it half-crashes my browser whenever I go to it. Honestly I'd rather get the news from rss/twitter than go to the site itself

Mashable takes too long to load, it causes both my Firefox and Google Chrome too crash and Adobe Flash doesn't seem to like the website, either as that crashed several times when on the site.
