I ordered a 27 inch screen. Went to pick it up this AM and it was clearly used (open box, badly taped together). The guy behind the counter claimed it was new. I pointed out the sloppy repack / tape gun job and he admitted it was an open box. Offered me a 5% discount but I walked. I've spent 10's of thousands here for me and my business over the last 10 years. Time to go elsewhere after this fiasco. I can deal with mistakes, not dishonesty in the face of clear evidence to the contrary.
I very rarely leave reviews for anything from products or services but I just had to make an exception in this case. I had the opportunity to deal with Memory Express in Hamilton, Ontario a few times and every time I walk out of the store I feel sense of delight and satisfaction. Undoubtedly, the result of friendly, helpful and extremely professional staff that aims to please. From purchases, returns, pre-orders and value for my money, there has never been a slightest of disappointment. I have always shopped at Canada Computers and Best Buy but can't claim the same! Memory Express might be a newer brick and mortar store addition to Southern Ontario but already long surpasses my expectations. Please give them a try…Thank you for opening your store in my area. KP
Tip for consumers:
Please give them a try

I live in Calgary so I come down to this location quite a bit to order parts & stuff. The staff are always pleasant to deal with & know a lot about their inventory. Place is well stocked & they have literally anything u'd be looking for. Checkout's are very quick too.
Love these guys. They're like my PC buddies I would hang out with at an LAN party.

Overall I like shopping with memory Express but i do not recommend purchasing online. The website is really good for general browsing and pre-planning a purchase but there have been issues with online ordering and getting refunds. I had to demand one from the store manager for a PC damaged in shipment. The refund was only given because there were quite a few customers who were listening.
Despite that rotten experience, I find the products are good and stock is varied if a bit pricey. If you are building your own, I'd recommend Tiger Direct or Amazon.ca for better prices.
In store staff and customer support are excellent and knowledgeable. Any work I had done in store was completed quickly. The store itself has a good selection of products. Overall, they are better than the other alternatives I know about in Edmonton.
I just got what I thought was a great deal getting myself a pre-build! But once it comes it constantly blue screens and freezes. On top of that, I ordered two of them and they arrived two weeks apart. I mean if you want your computer to freeze twice on you while you're taking a calculus test I would recommend it. If not I would just stay away if I were you.
I have dealt with Memory Express quite a bit. They are a Western Canadian retailer and I think they are based in Calgary. I visit their Richmond store and also shop online.
I have never had any problems with them to date.
They are the "go to" store for my programmer cousin in Calagry, and that is how I heard of them.
Interesting tidbit: Alec Sadler (in the TV show Continuum) works at Memory Express briefly. Their Richmond store is featured in a couple of episodes.
I have been ordering on internet hundreds of items and memoryexpress.com is by far the worst experience. I tried to order twice from them and both times with very bad results. First time neither my card nor my friend (canadian card) worked for the 3300 CAD$ payment for a laptop. I emailed and no answer. Offered to wire the money. Cannot be done. Called and they never called me back. Finally i used canadacomputers and no problem.
Second time. The order went through ($700), confirmation from my bank. Just to receive an email inviting me to contact them. They did not bother to call me to say that they will be holding my money for 5 days cause they don't accept international cards. Even though they received the payment they by principle (and cheer stupidity) illegally hold my money. Nowhere on the payment process it is written
That they only accept canadian emitted cards. Completely illegal. The best is I don't even know right now if they are gonna send me back the money or send the items since communication is not their strong suit
AVOID MEMORY EXPRESS. BAD SERVICE. INCOMPETENCE. NEVER ANSWER EMAIL. DONT CALL BACK. NO RESPECT AT ALL
I visit their Richmond store and also shop online. I have never had any problems with them to date. Excellent.
I have done deals with the his company for many years and have zero problems with them, they have good selections of computers parts and accessories.
Bad experience, never going bad to Memory Express. I rather go to CanadaComputers. They act more like humans.
