I'm a grandmother who sells my grandchilds clothing on mercari. I've had no problems til now. Out the blue I get a message saying I have multiple accounts and my privleges are being revoked. 'My account will be deleted after my transactions are complete. I demanded proof of these multiple accounts but got nothing. After numerous messages they then told me I made over 27 accounts! What the hell? I only ever had one account. I kinda freaks me out thinking someone may be using my info to make accounts but they will not provide proof. I'm getting deleted but they let others sell fake $#*! and dirty draws! Terrible customer service. I have a deposit PENDING and a transaction pending. I better get my money!
Their return policy does not protect sellers. Once the buyer returned the different item which was not the seller shipped to the buyer. Mercari determines to refund the buyer. If you sell on Mercari, you have to be very careful that the unqualified buyer exchange the item and then return for refund and you lost the money and item. Watch out! No trust of doing business on Mercari.

After being accused of having more than one account, I was banned. No explanation and no answers or concerns to my questions.
Mercari is not that bad of an app. It's actually an easy way to sell your items. It does have a selling fee, but at the same time, it's a lot less of a fee than many selling apps and websites. Plus I always wondered how they made money to keep the app going. Also it's not that hard to raise your price by the 1 dollar you'd lose from the fee. You do have to be careful of scammers though. But there are scammers on every website. I once bought "authentic apple earbuds" that were definitely not authentic. The lesson I learned from that: ask for their own photo of the item along with the label photo. If the listing is just stock photos, don't trust it. Same goes on any other selling website. Also, read their ratings. Often people will leave a "good" rating even if the item wasn't authentic or as described to be nice. I usually won't buy from someone who has negative ratings or no ratings so maybe that's why I've had good experiences. Anywho, it's not the app's fault if you receive something in poor condition or not as described (it's the sellers), BUT they CAN help you if you contact them about it.

If you sell on mercari with first class mail and there is an issue on delivery, mercari support would tell you that they cancelled the transaction and you seller have to contact usps to get the package back or open a claim...
Ive just recently purchased a few things on the Mercari app. Mostly infant clothes and shoes. Things went smooth. Tried to purchase two different crib mobiles for my grandaughter, and they were both "cancelled" by the sellers... weird, but ok, no big deal. Tonight, i went to purchase a baby outfit, and i received a message that said my account has been suspended indefinitely, after, of course, they already took the money for it. WHAT THE? Um, I have no idea why. I use the same credit card, and have plenty of money, so? We'll see if I actually get the refund. I very politely told them to shove it, I like Poshmark better anyway :) moral of the story... believe what you read and beware of these scams. It always seems good at first to hook you. Eventually they WILL take you for whatever they can of you hard earned dollars!

This app is worst ever! I purchased a Louis Vuitton Wallet cost 180 dollars. I was so excited that I bought it that price it was listed authentic and since it was my first purchase I never thought it was a fake which I found out after 30 minute. I contacted to return but they said I cannot return because I confirm already. I contacted the seller but he block me. Oh my i contacted then my bank to help but they needed a certificate to prove it is fake. I drove 3 hours with my 1 year old child to find a store To certify it is fake but I find none. So that's it I paid 180 for a fake Louis vuitton wallet They never consider I am new and naive in using their app!.
I purchased a skirt which was listed as good condition on Mercari. When I received it, I found some light brown marks and wanted to return it. The customer service representative Ron denied my request because the item was listed as "good condition" so it's NORMAL to have stains. And he said if I don't like it, I can relist it for a new buyer... WTF?! Why would I have to list a skirt with stains and find another dummy buyers in order to get my money back? Totally unacceptable. I won't purchase again.
As a buyer on this app you can find great deals and most of the people are helpful and great. My only recommendation would be to watch for fake products. Some people advertise them as being real when they are an AliExpress special ( nothing wrong with dupes I use them too. Just don't want to pay an arm and a leg for them). As a seller this site sucks. I was hoping to expand my selling opportunities to this site. I made 3 sales first day. Not bad at all! Here's where it gets awful... I'm one for criticism and can take it. But it seems unfair that a buyer can rate you poor without explanation. They received package within 3 days of purchase and received what they wanted. If the item wasn't as expected on my part let me know I can process a refund. But to go ghost and customer service says deal with it is bad business. I think if a poor rating is given an explanation should be required. Now I can go and purchase from competition and rate low to bring their score down.

I am a mother of 3 young children, I have selling many things on mercari for about 4 month everything seems to be fine but last two weeks I selling my purses make about 1661$ than mercari contact me my account suspended because I have another account is well but I never we can't have more than one account but fair enough they say after my deposit complete to my bank them will delete my account, I transfer money to my bank and mercari say it's will deposit on 11-7-16 than I get message from mercari on that day say deposit complete but I check my bank 3 days later the money not come in to my bank and mercari is delete my account already, so I have no way to contact them I try to contact customer service but nothing back to me, we are broke now, not sure what to do next, it's totally scams

I babysit for my grandson everyday at my daughters house so I use her address to have my package shipped to me, since I'm there 8 to 9 hours a day. My daughter and I Do Not have the same Bank Account and I have a totally different BILLING address! Long story short. Never even read my concerns, just keep snap shotting my tracking info to me. Eventually I filled a complaint with PayPal only because I couldn't reach the seller and Mercari was NO help! After that MERCARI BLOCKED me all together. Wasted 1 week of my time just to cancel an order for a dress because seller did not ship item out within the deadline.
Customer service is basically non existent. They don't even have a telephone number. When you send a message regarding a problem such as a return, you don't get a response until like 20 hours later. They then proceed to tell you that you have 24 hours to submit more photos for them to approve for a return since they ignore the first ones sent! By the time they get back to you to "approve" a return request, they won't do it because the 24 hours are up! This site a freaking joke! I will never buy anything on Mercari again and am telling everyone I know to steer clear of this horrible site!
