I bought a lot of plants from MB. My whole garden is basically from MB and their sibling Company SpringHills. They had excellent offer on bareroot roses. I bought about 30 bare root roses from them and 5 own root roses. Quality was Very good. Their bulbs (daffodils, dutch irises) are good quality as well. I was refunded, for everything, what didn't grow, without any problems. As I live in Los Angeles, they offered very unique lilac, which blooms In my zone and has a "real" lilac scent. Btw, I received "starter" plants, lilacs were about 4 inch tall, roses were bare root, Own root roses were about 6 inch tall. Roses now are beyond 5 foot tall, lilacs are About 2.5 tall. One of the peonies even bloomed (in LA!). So, don't be discouraged to receive Little plant, it will eventually grow. I can only recommend this company. Thank you

My problem is that for spring plantings they have a two-month backlog on three of my items, and no indication of when it will be shipped. A 2-3 week delay was indicated when I ordered, but there is no estimate even now as to when they will deliver the items. No updates have been sent since the first ones. For delicate, time-sensitive plantings, this is unacceptable.

I ordered a 4" potted hydrangea plant. I received a lifeless bulb. I reached out to customer service and they told me it was my job to bring it back to life, as shipping causes strain on horticulture.
Mind you I paid $10 more than my beautiful plants I received from Brecks! They will not refund you your money. Do NOT EVER SHOP Michigan Bulb! They're ripoff's.

Ordered 3 Elephant ears bulbs, planted when suggested, 1 out of 3 bloomed, the other two are dead. Not quality at all. Never Never again will I ever order from this place. I would inform Michigan Bulbs, but they would just give me store credit, not interested in any of their products ever again

Today a received the tri colored butterfly bush I ordered. $30 including shipping. 4 in pot, a disaster of a plant. Never again! Leaves brown and broken, soil dry to the point it is dust, almost completely fallen out of the pot into the bag it was in.

I ordered 150 bulbs - iris and grape hyacinth. The price was reasonable and they were shipped promptly. Five of them came up. I contacted customer service by phone (bad connection with India) and a very helpful "agent" issued a merchandise credit. I used it for a flower pot. Customer service good, merchandise lousy.
I ordered 6 roses and 3 rose of sharon bushes. The price was very competitive - but you get what you pay for. They were not packaged well. I've been struggling to keep them alive. The rose of sharon bushes arrived with all leaves dead or nearly dead. The rose bushes had similar problems, but not quite as bad. Luckily they all appear to be making small comebacks and appear to be growing new leaves - but it took a tremendous amount of care to get them there. Some plants lost all leaves in the process. The last straw was that I sent them two emails asking if they guarantee their plants and never received a response. I would go somewhere else if I had to do it all over again. Pay the extra few dollars and get quality plants.
I will NEVER buy from Michigan Bulb again. I ordered on July 10,2022. They took the money on July 11 with a promise of shipment on September 8,2022. I called their customer service on September 26 and the shipment hadn't been sent. No notification from them; even though they had a shipping address they explained that they had no way to notify me. Since reluctantly giving them my email, they have flooded my inbox. My order arrived on October 11,2022.
I was going to order a hybrid begonia from them but they don't even sell the most flowers in the US. So nope I'll order frome home Depot or some other place ridiculous you don't even sell seeds of the one. Morning glories what a joke! I can't add a photo because I didn't purchase from you. I received my plants on the 8th day after shipping. Some was certainly dead, some showed life. The live plants suppose to come within 3, max. 4 days. The worst part with this company that you don't get back any money. I will never buy from them again and will not recommend. I don't know why they are Michigan, if they based in IN.
I ordered a number of items from Michigan Bulb this year (the very beginning of April). Two items ended up backordered, and would have arrived so late they would have been pointless, but no one reached out to me to inform me. In the first shipment, half the plants arrived dead (and JUST past the season they would have bloomed). In the second order, which *finally* arrived the beginning of June, yes, a full two months later, one bag was completely empty except for dirt! I checked it three times over to make sure I wasn't missing a teeny, tiny plant and... nothing. I would never use them again. Check Fast Growing Trees or Spring Hill Nursery instead.
Received an email for Free Shipping (without a code or minimum $ order). Ordered items and was charged over $10 for shipping and handling. Contacted customer service twice. No response. Still have half an order pending for Fall items and not sure they will even arrive.

I got the Buterfly Bush I ordered. It arrived with the leaves falling off. When I called, I was told to wait 4 weeks and if it was still I was told the item was out of stock, that I would get a store credit. I asked about refund. No refund... store credit. I will not purchase from y'all again. It irks me to be required to look at your catalogue so I can get my money's worth.

I received 3 eye candy hibiscuses with beautiful pictures listed on the website. I order this plant because I purchased 12pcs in a local nursery 2 years ago and all live and make my yard beautiful. When I purchased from Michigan bulb this time because my local nursery is out of stock, what I received are 3 dried branches, 2 look dead, 1 still has a couple of leaves. When I contact their customer service and sent pictures to them, they told me they only credit me 1 which looks dead, the other 2 still look green. The credit they refund is to buy from their store, not fully refunded. The out of stock item refund I still haven't received the money as I was told they refund me to my credit card. The two Lilacs I ordered are in two tiny 2" pots not like any type of trees. The customer service lady is very impatient and told me not to worry about my money.

My son was thoughtful enough to order me a selection of bulbs. Different colors nice selection. Well when I got them I planted them right away. Half grew and bloomed every one of them yellow! My son sent me the pix of what he ordered and these evidently were a bulk purchase all the same color! Even spoke to Michigan Bulb as well as he did. So they sent another order supposedly to solve the problem. NOPE! ALL YELLOW AGAIN! What did you buy a boat load of that color at a discount? Why can't you be counted to send what was ordered? NEVER AGAIN! RIP OFF!

I ordered and paid for two red passion vines. I was given a future shipping date. I waited for at least two months. Now I recieved a letter stating my order was cancelled. I am very disappointed, and will not be ordering again. I will get my money back. Now I have to find them else where. After two months of waiting. Very discouraging. Martha Norris.
I came across this company on the internet. Prices were reasonable, pictures were deceiving, showing beautiful flowers. I ordered 3 garden kits at over $150 worth of plants. I received an email that they were shipped. I waited a few weeks and nothing. When I contacted the company they couldn't find my order. I had to supply the order number and dates. They shipped " new " plants, not the ones I ordered. They came ragged, moldy, I planted them anyway with a hope and a prayer. Less then 5% of the plants showed signs of growing.
I ordered Tongariro Hardy Orchid. Arrived a small bulb and came with disease (Glomerella cingulata, see photo). The disease spread to my orchid green house very fast in just 3 months. A lot of my orchid got big troubles now.
Last year I purchased $90.00 of multi color calla lilies. Many of the bulbs never came up and the ones that did all came up white I call Michigan and they provided me with a credit towards a future purchase. The additional items I received. Were extremely poor. The ornamental grasses were the size of my baby finger and non survived the winter. Plus I still waiting for items that would complete my order. I am extremely disappointed with the quality of the items I purchased.

Horrible experience. I ordered 5 bushes and 5 ferns in March - over $100. I live in the South so planting in the spring or early fall is a must and I would expect a horticultural company to know what time of year facilitates planting and would ship accordingly. Well, not these guys. The plants finally arrived on June 23. It is the middle of summer in the South with average temperatures in the high 90s and no one plants this time of year - because unless establlshed, plants won't live through the summer. The plants are worthless and will only fry. Have tried to get a refund only to have customer service argue with me. They had two good customer service options: (1) they could have messaged me and said shipping was delayed and do I still want the plants, or (2) they could have delayed shipping until the next planting window this fall. They did neither. I'll never order from this company again and recommend that others avoid it as well.

I ordered $200 worth of bulbs and plants and after 2 months of waiting for them to ship I called and asked where my order was as every time I looked at my order the ship dates got pushed back farther and farther. I was told that orders are shipped according to the DNR prescribed time for growing! I told them I live in northern Illinois and by mid Jul (when my order would be shipped to Me), my growing season is half over. So I canceled my order. Waste of time, money and effort. Went to the store and got the same items and had them the same day. If you like the runaround order from them if not go to the store or purchase from a better company.

I called customer service and talked with Glen, He told me he'd put a "rush" on the order. I felt like it was a trained response tactic to get me off the phone. So I ask. His response was all the phone conversations are recorded. I then asked will it change anything. He told me he did what he could do. So now HALF the growing season is over before the bushes are estimated to arrive. Won't buy ever again, Hope this helps Dave from Rochester NY

Im a long time Michigan Bulb customer and a garden fanatic/hoarder/shopaholic. Ive ordered from all over for 30 years, before the internet existed, and I have to say MB has 80% of the quality of a Brecks or even white flower farm, at 1/10th the price, and their customer service is so good.
They ship when they say they will, if there is a problem its easy to get a hold of customer service at their 800#, and they really stand by their guarantees.
At least 10-20% of live plant products I buy from anywhere go wrong, MB is no better or worse.
Make sure you read the descriptions. Are you buying #1 or #2 plants? 8-10cm bulbs or 12-14cm? 1-2 eye or 3-4? Theyve always sent exactly what they describe and stood by their products.
I hate to say it, but I think a lot of the negativity comes from inexperienced gardeners with unrealistic expectations.
