Took a dell in the guy did diagnose hardrive was missing from a computer I got, its a good unit but the guy said it was not worth fixing would cost $300 and it would be cheaper to buy another one, I looked and outside of notepads they were all $1200-2000, lazy tech and just a money grab. Already looking to get my own hardrive for $50. Normally they have been great but very poor service logically they appear to rather gouge you for $2000 than fix a 5 yr old computer.
Bought a $300 motherboard that did not work. When I tried to return it the clerk tried to find any microscopic imperfections and wouldn't accept the return due to customer damage. 2 or 3 pins were bent which explains why it wouldn't work. After some microscopy I was able to get this to work.
Issue is that I will never trust Microcenter again with my builds. I build PCs a few times a year and have spent a small fortune at MicroCenter. They would know if they looked up my purchases. This is how they treat their loyal customers? I will be taking my business elsewhere after this.
Please save yourself the trouble and avoid MicroCenter they do everything in their power to not honor their return policy.
USE ONLY CASH OR YOU WILL GET RIPPED OFF,,, every time all the time... i will be pressing changes on whoever i can and everyone i can,,, im apparently not the only one. People have been reporting it since dec of 2023,, apparently they are doing nothing
About a week ago, I ordered a PC online and made the mistake of having it delivered to my house. A few days later I see that my money is refunded and I get an e-mail saying that they canceled my order. It's really frustrating when you trust a website/company and they just cancel your product with no follow-up. In hindsight, I should've just picked it up at the store that day and this would have been avoided. So a suggestion would be to reserve your order and pick it up from MicroCenter.
They charged my card and never sent my PC wheel. I even got an arrival date! I called 3 weeks later and they say the order was canceled the same day(!?) They now had them in stock but would not honor the original price. What a terrible experience! I have shopped Amazon and eBay 400 times and never experienced such incompetence.
Bought a Maingear laptop through Microcenter that had problems with USB-C drive. Sent it under warranty through Microcenter customer service - it was returned to me twice over four months without being fixed - after which I was told that I was then outside the warranty period so they were no longer responsible.
Every interaction with service department was unsympathetic, dismissive and unhelpful. I was told by the service manager that he would try to resolve the issue and I received zero followup until I walked into the store a month later. If the service is this poor from a brick & mortar store - just buy from Amazon or BestBuy.
I selected "Next Day" shipping and was charged and extra $6.00. That was fine.
As I went to place the order, I saw this at the bottom of the page: "Usually ships in 5-7 business days". Which is it? Will it ship next day (which I'm paying for) or in a week? I contacted Micro Center and was told that 2-3 days AFTER i place the order I would be given an estimated shipping date. Huh? What is there to estimate about "Next Day". I canceled the order and will not be back.
We purchased a top of the line Dell for $2000 plus the 3 yr extended warranty and left it at MicroCenter for the data conversion from my son's old Asus. We were told it would take 48 hours maximum AND, unlike other retailers such as Apple, MicroCenter does charge $89. For the conversion. As may son was leaving for college in three days, we were anxious to pick up the computer. After 72 hours and repeated attempts to contact the store, we finally went there and picked up the new and old computers without the conversion. They told us that the conversion was difficult, yet, the new computer had never been removed from the box so they lied. Do not get service contracts or any service agreements from this retailer as they are entirely unreliable.
I schedule an appointment to have my laptop looked at. Not only did they not honor appointments even though they offered them they ignored me when I asked them about it. The store was over capacity due to Covid/CDC guidelines. They were not enforcing the face mask policy or social distancing. I have not felt so uncomfortable in a store during this pandemic until I was in there store today. Would not recommend them and will never return. They will be reported for not following current guidelines.
Website shows the item is available, there is not any phone number to check, also online chat does not work properly, there is not any agent to answer. I drive 20 miles, but they don't have that item, still it is available on website. They don't have respect to customer.
Never have what they advertise and only to reserve before you buy. Also what good is it to enter product into shopping cart to see the price. Micro Center has become just crooked as the rest of the other stores and is no more a reputable store it once was. Their marketing gimmics has over ridden the quality of products and service it once was known for.
I cant wear a mask due to breathing and other issues. I order a computer they would not ship. I came down waited in line for my turn when I went in they told me I had to leave cuz no mask. I informed them I have a medical condition and if they would bring the computer out that would be fine. They said no to both and thus I had no xmas gift for my mom. I own smart Janitorial and previously would only shop here. Spending multi thousands of dollars with a company doesn't earn you loyalty and that's fine but I thought you're company would be be fair in treating motherly abled. I'll be telling everyone I know on both our podcast and in person and sending a email to our over 100 employees to not shop your store as we will not reimburse products from a discriminatory company
So Be careful when you are ordering online.
I had bought a product that was taking along time pending, after the pending when I did bought it same day which was 4 days after the transaction then it was gone so I was Assuming I wasn't getting the product but, for them to turn around taking the transaction realizing they should had it took payment process that day in stead of days later and to update there system when I had bought the product. Then also put me in the Negative Transaction process also taking $$. Also I never received the product because after the head ache it returned back in 1 day which that was a great process. I have not yet got my refund despite how long it takes, When you return something same day you should get money back same day. Also how is there no number to contact the store and calling just random customer service? I won't be buying online again from here. Don't get me wrong in stores are great but online no go!
I have been buying from Microcenter for 15 years. Their Marietta GA location has always taken care.of me and my business. I purchased and 2- seperate laptops. Both Acer's have issues. The Acer Nitro 5 ( I pretty much picked on my own) from their Dallas location and screen went bad with in warranty period but cashier evidently entered Wrong serial number on receipt, from what Manager said. Manager said so sorry their is nothing they could do. I had the original box and serial # on unit. No go! We can't help!
I called Acer and hopefully they can help. At least they are going to try. Brand new computer. Why serial numbers didn't match is a mystery. I will never go out of my way For Microcenter again.
They will.not be around much longer with their crappy attitude. I will review Acer after experience.
I tried to upload Proof of Purchase but did not load for some reason.
For the second time I went into Microcenter to buy a tablet and had to leave the store without making a purchase because the tablet shelves were blocked by carts with merchandise that was waiting to be shelved. I have osteoarthritis and it's often not easy for me to get into the store to shop. Complaints mean nothing. All they do is say they're sorry for the inconvenience. Big deal. Just too much trouble and too much drama having to complain. I GIVE UP ON MICRO CENTER. They're good for paper and odds and ends but I'm going to make my major purchases online at Amazon. I have no interest in Microcenter online except for product information. If I can't buy in their store than I won't buy from them at all.
In the midst of COVID-19, most companies have pivoted and moved to a more virtual environment. Shockingly, a company that sells technology, in this case computers, has not shifted. So, you are forced to bring your computer into the physical Micro Center store. The wait time in-store for a computer diagnostic is 5-6 days. Even with a warranty, no tech support is offered online unless you want to pay an additional $49. This defeats the purpose of having a warranty. I will not be purchasing a computer from Micro Center (or any other equipment) again. I really wanted to support a local store, but will need to do business with Best Buy, or the like, in the future. #customerexperience
Fighting consumerism one value product at a time. Too bad Best Buy will out-politic them and we'll be forced to pay $30 for a "gold-plated HDMI cable." Conveniently located, unfortunately not popular in the Best Buy circles.
I brought my laptop to Micro Center to get a blown cooling fan fixed/replaced. The reason I chose Micro Center was because I figured they would have the part on site and I wouldn't have to wait the 7-10 days for them to order it. I was wrong. They told me the part would arrive in 3-4 days and the repair would be completed in 7-8 days. It wasn't. I'd be okay with that, but there was zero communication. There is no phone number to call and the "service update" text number on the receipt is apparently not monitored. When I finally got a phone call (despite specifying all communications by text) I went to get my computer. The young man at the counter was also the technician who worked on my computer. He laughed and said that he had forgotten to connect the display wires and had to go back and redo that. He slid my laptop across the counter and I asked him where the power block and cords were? He looked mystified. He disappeared into the back and came out several minutes later with them, again assuring me that the computer works 100% perfect! Maybe I should have asked him then and there to show me. Ah well... hindsight. Got home, plugged it in and... nothing. Stayed up all night, into the morning trying to get it to work. Got it to flicker a little bit of life, enough to do a factory reset. *sigh* Nope, even that didn't help. I cannot emphasize enough, never, ever, EVER go to Micro Center for your tech repair needs. I don't know how they stay in business.
Went to MicroCenter's website and placed an order at 12:06 AM on 9-16-2021 paying for next-day shipping. Having not received any email other than the one saying I opened an online order account, I have not received anything about my order as of closing today (9/17/2021). I called a number for MicroCenter that my item has not been picked or boxed yet. I was told that as far as "Next Day" is concerned that has nothing to do with the entire process, just when FedEx ends up picking up my package. Kind of sad that Next Day is not what it used to be. Will never order from MicroCenter again. Hope they don't wait till next to tell me they have none in stock or they will be dealing with a REAL pissed off customer.
I ordered an item and paid for it last Saturday. They send me a confirmation telling me to pick up the item. I start driving to the store and they send me an email telling me that they oversold and my order was canceled. I ask for a call back from the manager or the person that sent the email. Nothing?
I use the corporate text line to ask for a call back and they waste about an hour of my time pretending they can't get an answer from the store but they guarantee the manager would call me. Nothing?
Then they send me another email saying come down and pick it up or we will sell it. I text back and the explain how they made another mistake and the manager would call me. Nothing. Now its Thursday 5 days later and I'm done with this company. Stay away! They have wasted my time and it's not right
