The rep who sold me the Surface lied to me and the company refuses to honor the $100 post-sale credit they promised. Even though it was written and saved in the chat log. Two follow-up chat conversations and a very long phone call to sales support and each time was told "we can't do anything, but we've put a note in for the chat rep and they will contact you tomorrow to fix this". All BS. No one ever follows up. Asking for a manager gets you hung up on. Which means another 30 minutes on hold or waiting for a chat rep to respond. I will never buy another Microsoft device again.
In general, an excellent company. But the operating system could be better. She is already many years old, but the same mistakes move from version to version.
The site provides rather good products but the service sometimes is slow and they sometimes do not resolve the occurring issues, sadly. However its some 8 of 10 for me, mostly the experience was good while working with them.
I have not had any terrible experience using th microsoft store because it has some very good apps but I have had bad experiences too. There are some apps with so many issues than buying them is just a waste of time. When it comes to windows they are ok but they need to have more improvements.
Tried to preorder about three times input all my details for the xbox series x only to be denied every time and sent back onto this screen that says it out of stock. I honestly give up on this site literally cannot preorder or buy any console. If you look at the pre-orders for your xbox series x halo edition they're on EBAY listed for double the price. Those are the people you're selling to that aren't even remotely interested in your product and more interested on making money over it. Ridiculous.
I got an HP laptop for about $2100 from MS store last year and it said it came with the extended warranty. One year later the warranty they offered doesn't exist or they don't honor it.
And the HP laptop has had some many glitches.
The MS ecosystem is just so so sadly.

I was trying to buy a Surface laptop. MS sales is broken at every turn. The specs said one thing, but no model was offered with those specs. I went on "support" chat and got a message that they were closed after 6PM PT. The time was 3:30. Then I called "support" and got someone who I could barely understand and he had trouble understanding me. After much frustration, I said forget it and hung up. Later, I received an email from MS (Microsoft Surface <*******@email.microsoft.com>) offering me info about the Surface (which I already knew). I emailed back to express my disappointment with MS and the postmaster said the email didn't exist. So, I went to Lenovo and found a much better laptop with everything I wanted for $1000 less.
Tip for consumers:
Don't bother. There are better computers for cheaper and MUCH better sales service than Microsoft.

I bought Minecraft for windows, which apparently is not compatible with java. No easy refund or switch. In today's day and age, there is no excuse for such idotic negligible customer support. Microsoft store is trash. I will never buy anything from the store again. Turned a nice day off with friends into a living F***ng nightmare.
There's a arbitrary limit of 10 devices and it's the dumbest thing I could have possibly thought of imagine having multiple pcs and then being forced to make entire new accounts just to download apps on multiple rigs
I recently purchased a Surface Pro 8 online at the surface store. I have had issues with the product from the start. Yesterday the onscreen keyboard would not appear. I called customer support and requested a call back, it came and then I had to wait on hold for over 9 minutes for someone to talk to. After going back and forth for a few minutes I was told to hold on again as he was checking something-I was disconnected. I called back, received another call back, this time I waited over 12 minutes. I told him that I was dissatisfied and wanted to return everything. He transferred me to sales, I spoke for a few minutes with someone and again was disconnected. You can't make this crap up.

I ordered a Xbox headset for my son that ended up being returned but when I called to reorder it they were unable to do it so I asked for a refund instead. I sat on thephone with the rep for about an hour and she ensured me my money would be returned, here I am a month later and still haven't been reimbursed. On top of that it is literally impossible to talk to a person or even chat with one #microsoftrobbedme
Do not buy anything from Microsoft store, you will never get the correct product, AND you won't get your money back! 2 months I have been dealing with this, they shipped the wrong product in the box, called immediately to get the process going. They made me buy the exact same product for a 2nd time, and said they would refund me. There are no humans that answer the phone, cust support is online now, and you just go in circles and it brings you back to where you started. I returned the wrong product shipped, but still have not seen my refund over $1600. 00! Microsoft store is horrific, this kills me to say it but go to Best Buy (not much better) or a store you can physically put your hands on the product when you purchase it!

So, it was time to renew my office 365 subscription. I chatted with a sales rep on their store site about the best deal, and settled on a deal where i buy a tablet and get office for one year plus a $25 gift card, for only $15 more than just getting office alone. They sent the tablet, but not the office key or the gift card. And when I contacted them, I was told that I needed to repurchase office separately even tho my order confirmation clearly lists it as included. SO PISSED OFF!
I would rather eat 3 month old pizza that has been rotting in the trunk of a car than call the customer service line for Microsoft. Getting a refund for unauthorized charges was a nightmare... after three hours on the phone - being transferred and cut off multiple times - we were finally told that they are INCAPABLE of issuing a refund and that I would have to use the online form. Which I had already tried to do without success since there were so many unauthorized charges. They did inform me that I would have to submit multiple forms. One of the people I was transferred to and from had literal roosters in the background. Completely disgusting and unprofessional service.
Horrible experience have been a loyal console client for years and on the preorder I was waiting for 11:00am to purchase and their website was giving freaking errors and did not allow to buy the damn console. I called they place on hold for mora than 10 minutes to come back and give me the BS answer that it was sold out. I have a picture of the error at 11:07 am when i tried to purchase picture below. Really disappointed at how poorly a loyal client is treated.
I am currently 17 years old working a part time job and I saved five weeks of paychecks to to pay for a surface three. Then after using it a total of four times the screen went blank and would not turn on and the surface logo kept blinking. After I saw this I sent it back to get a new one because they said they could send me one due to it still being on warranty, and it cracked while in shipping AND they blamed it on me saying it was intentional damage. They were telling me I had to pay $220 if i wanted a new one for something I didn't even do this is BS. $220 should be about another two paychecks for me... do you think I'm made of money? Don't waste your money OR TIME paying for the pieces of crap they're selling.
Their rebranding and a better quality has increased their sales. Anyhow it is still Microsoft, not Apple.
However, their do provide nice discounts for students and decreased prices for many products. Keep going guys!
They refused to honor the price guarantee list on the terms of sale right on their website. They made up bs rules and spouted them at me, and after two calls refused to even connect me with a supervisor, hanging up on me twice. This was after several failed attempts to contact them.

Original order never shipped. I had to call to check on it. Was told somebody would call me back. Never did. Called back to be told my order couldn't be complete because of a 'glitch'. Reordered on phone with person that answered phone. I can't really call them a customer service rep because there is no customer service. Was promised discounts for my inconvenience. Received tracking number for package 2 days after it arrived. Never received all the discounts promised. Over 2 hours on the phone with them. Most of it being put on hold so they could check something. Transferred to 3 different people on one call. Still waiting on call back that I know will never happen. Avoid this site or you will regret it. I posted a review on the website that was censored. Buy somewhere else and avoid Microsoft products when you can.
DO NOT BUY FROM HERE. Their website and customer service are so lacking I spent over 10 hours on the site and phone but still did not end up with the tablet I wanted. Their customer service representatives have no accountability and lack basic training. I was hung up on twice, misquoted prices and they messed up the transaction so many times four different credit cards were locked out. They told me they would call be back within two hours to resolve my issue, I never received that call. I am so completely disgusted that I decided to get an entirely different tablet just to avoid future dealings with them.
The Microsoft store won't even let you download something you own. It's extremely frustrating, and the fixes you find online are a joke. I don't see how Microsoft allows this to continue, as these experiences are going to hurt thier reputation, and make people not want to buy things from them at all! Where is the damage control!? Another issue is the almost complete lack of support for thier PC game pass service. It easy enough to fin Xbox game pass on PC... But not the PC games!?!? Seriously, you're hurting yourself everyday more than you know Microsoft. I'm a out to change over to lynex over this rediculousness.
Purchased a sweet laptop... the graphics card did not work... sent it back for exchange... meen while. The laptop goes out of stock and they can't to anything to replace it... stupid systeme... Worst shopping experience ever! NEVER buy from this site!
There is a vast choice off things to keep you busy on the go mobile apps and games free or pay for ok if bored on the train plane and theres also plenty off apps and games for Pc as well to do work or at home relaxing free or pay for fast easy all in one place connect windows mobile to Pc and you can use apps off there all so upload download
I haven't really used microsoft store on my laptop much, as I didn't think I needed games on my laptop, but I do have a singular online game that updates frequently. So the game was going through one of its updates, and I was unable to update it because every single time I opened up microsoft store to update the game, it closed. The one time I used it, it was completely unable to help. Don't use it, its completely unreliable and fragile as glass.
Microsoft is not supporting the store very easily. I made a $26 purchase & it doesnt install. There is a phone number if you jump through enough hoops, but every link is to a chat bot that misdirects you. If you have issues installing anything you purchase, it'll take hours to resolve. I wish I could work on the desk supporting this line because they likely get 3 calls a day due to how hard it is to get transferred to the right place.
To say they make the products they sell them for high prices compared to other third party retailers which us a shame. They supply most goods quickly and the goods have warranty that goes with most products. No problem with the products just the price.
