Model Mayhem is great! I've worked with it for years and have made lots of side gig money. Be wary of photographers trying to get free nude work. And minors should be supervised I think. But it's fun and can be profitable.
Nice website but completely lacking customer service and over sight. No phone numbers, direct emails, managers etc. If you want a refund or have a problem don't waste your time trying to resolve it. They just ignore everything while laughing in a bubble. I'm actually surprised the parent company doesn't get more involved.
I would agree with the majority of the reviews not a reputable site for models or professional photographers. Anyone who thinks they are going to grow their careers based on Model Mayhem need to get real. This is basically a pick up site for escorts and prostitutes to hook up. If you are looking for artist try a reputable art schools. This is a site is where people claim to be professionals when in fact their not, and its loaded with unsavory creepy people. You have gone low when you deal with sites like this. Its mostly images of nudity, Most people dont buy porn anymore it's free on sites like this... Stay away from sites like this, if you are trying to grow your career
Modelmayhem - Modeling networking site - Great place to meet photographers, models, makeup artists, hair stylists, wardrobe stylists, clothing designers, etc. Social networking tool that can also be functional depending on your luck wading through the flakes (though that's universal to all internet modeling sites). Still, there are quite a few working professionals on there (I've made friends with plenty), and sometimes it's surprising seeing who's on there. It's worth checking out if you're curious about the whole modeling scene.
*edit* woops, shoulda put this in the other category =P
We have been working with professional models since the mid 1990s and can tell you without a doubt modelmayhem.com is a joke. After a disturbing conversation with the owner of the website about 10 years ago I've monitored much feedback from over 100 models who joined. All of them have horror stories. modelmayhem.com allows everyone to pose as an agent or photographer this is dangerous, this is how people have gotten raped and killed on websites that allow ANYONE to create anonymous seemingly "professional" identities. I strongly suggest models use local agents they can meet with over million identity (mostly fake?) websites like modelmayhem.com and onemodelplace.com
Model Mayhem first is kind of amateur hour. You aren't going to land the next Victorias secret gig by joining the site. However if you want to reach out to others doing similar things, it can be a decent site for networking. Secondly this site has ridiculous rules and guidelines. I contacted a few models regarding something non model related and model mayhem shut down my account. They did not tell me there was a problem, so I had no warning. They did not offer me any chance to appeal the decision either. I've had this profile for years, and I find it a little ridiculous to see the extreme measures they take for very small non issues. They go out of their way to make sure people never sign up and or pay them money again. This site should work on their customer service skills because they soon will be out of business with their current Mode of Operation.
I only received responses from hookers coming to my town and want to get together. I joined to become part of the photography community. They only badgered me for money and then closed my account because I didn't pay
I had a roommate who was very hot looking but not tall enough to be a "classical" model. Her profile, and that of some of her friends, were posted on MM. She did occasional escort work which was sandwiched between trade show "modeling". Some of her other friends would go straight into fully nude modeling on porn sites. A friend of mine works for U.S. Customs and they screen girls coming in from Canada and elsewhere by examining their profiles on MM. These girls come in for 2-3 day jaunts to Vegas, alone, dressed not for gambling comfort but for entertaining, and make these trips every month or two. Its pretty obviousl when they're here for legit work vs. escorting. And then there are the usual creeps just trying to hookup by getting girls to drop their linen in their "Studios". Not saying there is not some legit work on MM, but there is a lot that is not and should be avoided.
We are a brand new mobile app that allows you to connect with other creatives for free. It's designed for amateurs and professionals and is growing daily. We have a rating system to ensure everything is safe and goes to plan. Of course you're still responsible for your own safety but you have a good base to start from. Never go to your first shoot with somebody alone! Check *******@photoshoot_app on Instagram for details and a download link. We'd love to have you onboard!
It's been called ''A modern Model Mayhem''. That's kind of embarrassing after reading all of these comments but it shows that it's time for something new.
Stay away! Very unprofessional, no customer service, ripoff, modeling agencies advises all their models not to use modelmayhem, no modeling future in modelmayhem, a lot of perverts use site to look at models ports, becoming a cheap dating site, horrible - cheap looking platform, waste of time, useless forums and does nothing for it's members, endless bad reviews from all sources through the web. Beware!
Moved to this site from onemodelplace - and have hated the move. I posted one nude with full bush and they banned my account - and offered no refund. I had the account less that 3 weeks During my tenure there were member who said terrible things to other photographers and models - very unprofessional site. Too many egos in one place. Stay away from the site because they WILL rip you off. Way overpricd and scammy
Complete and utter waste of time. I tried 3 times to create a profile was told it was. Then I had to go back in to submit my profile, repeatedly. I let the admin know there was an issue and they declined my profile then and there. I want nothing to do with such a wish washy site.
Yes, it can be a front for escort service 'models'; and the equivalent in 'Togs plus so many who are blatantly scofflaw on professionalism and legal rights. As a model I cringe on this Site as so many expect nudity and shoots other than fashion and mainstream talent need. It depends on where one is working, and on MM for; some states and cities are harder to deal with. I noticed OMP is the same way with even less reputable photographers and downright scary ones.
Stay far away from this site don't pay them. They are a scam for porn. They human trafficking. Photographers are not photographers they are men looking for prostitution. They don't approve anyone unless your selling your self for sex. I was approached by my old account by someone, so I decided not to use the site for a while. Lost my password and they wouldn't help me. Lost all my log in information. They are not a real site customer service responded to me 4 months after to tell me account not approve for a new. It took them months to response to me. Not a real website. All fake.
Stay away.
Too many 50 plus on there wanting £50 an hour to photograph their fannies alot of new models failing to turn up for booked shoots. Although there are some nice models on there, the older model fanny shoots and young ones not turning up make the site a waste of time being on there.
In the middle of conducting business, and my site was "closed" with no access to previous contacts or deals that were in negotiation. No reply from them since the matter and no way to recover any of that data.
Tip for consumers:
Avoid at all costs.
The site has always been slow but has been unavailable for 2 days in the UK. Customer service are less than useless telling me it was available to them despite the fact that many UK members were saying it was down and when I emailed to cancel my membership their reply was to tell me to logon to my account and cancel it from there. If I could have logged on I would not have been wanting to cancel.
When Model Mayhem gets any aledged complaint from any one they will close your account without notice. You will get no opportunity to learn the details of the complaint and no opportunity to address the complaint. If you are already on model mayhem back up all contacts now. I research after the fact and found Model Mayhem has a F rating with the better business bureau. Save your reputations do not recommend a friend to Model Mayhem
Tip for consumers:
Avoid at all cost
Products used:
Wife ordered a one year subscription when they cancel service they did not refund yearly subscription
Although there are a lot of professional photographers and models for networking very easily, there are also a lot of immature kids that sign up looking for MySpace, and get kicked for becoming abusive wth other members.
Model Mayhem already has issues with old creeps asking girls to do more than they agreed to. But I am a woman who used the site for a brief period of time and realized something else that marks this company down. They also EMPLOY these old creeps to shut down accounts with the dumbest excuses you that you need to sign up again and pay them more. Not safe to use for modeling, and not safe for your business either. Waste of time and money.
I dont knock anyones hustle, to each their own. I thought i was the only one noticing all the escorts and strippers dictating the MM world. They want 100 an hour 3 hour minimum. 350 half day 700 all day. They want all the photos, no logo and most never give credit. Im not a professional, was just trying to learn photography. But with the drama, flakey models and all the photoshop i have to do, not really worth it.
Rady H Hewitt is a felon with a long criminal record, and one with multiple restraining orders against him, this is his way to try causing damage and trying to not get arrested for breaking his LEGAL order. He is a porn produces that lures women, pays them for naked shoots and then molest and rapes them... HE is the true criminal Not Bruce. Don't believe his pathetic lies
After asking why it was taking so long to get my profile approved they began hassling me about the quality of my pics before finally shutting the account. I changed ip addresses to reregister but when i cancelled a shoot with a weeks notice this psycho model (who's first words to me were 'i hate people') complained and they booted me again. Now i'm targeted and will never get on. They have incredibly cynical attitudes about everything, they bully and target and as i told one moderator 'not even the government treats people the way you do'. The problem is there is no credible alternative. They have all the power and have become like megalomaniacs. Until their monopoly is somehow at least diluted you can expect to eat crow from them. They're also located in a town in california where there are some qualty of life issues, which doesn't help their mood. I've never seen anything like this outfit on this scale.
This website is using a picture of a half naked woman (not me) put under my FULL legal name to lure people to my profile and does NOT have a valid phone number or working online portal to contact any customer service. Other I have seen online having issues with connecting with agency. I tried switching my login email/password numerous times to delete my account to have zero ties with this terrible company but it does not let me login in after years of me being inactive on their system however my account is STILL there with photos of other naked women attached to my name.
Stay away from Model Mayhem
This site called Model Mayhem owned by IB. Internet Blunders... will 100% lie about how many Actual Members that use MM... if you believe the massive Lie... almost 1 million "Current Members" there is the massive Lie... when there is actually only around 40-50 thousand members. IB insists these inflated numbers to scam advertisers. Brian Diaz and Dean Johnson are the masters of BS spin... They are 100% liars and scammers... along with Brandi. The clueless blunder at IB. Overly Moderated by bs spinners who still cannot the lieing numbers. And why MM customers cannot upload pictures or profiles. Without the site crashing. IB the internet blunders... are the ones who after many years owning MM. Still cannot produce a new feature without destroying or creating new Bugs! IB must be one sorry place to work for. You have been warned. Brian Diaz and Brandi from IB and Dean Johnson are the main liars and are truly massive failures of life.
This website is a joke. Yes people find modeling jobs on the site, but all the photographers are not professional so when you get photos back from the shot you just did, you can't use them because they don't look good. Also, some of the photographers will say they will pay models who model for them... yeah nope that's a lie. They don't pay you. The truth is this everyone in the professional world knows Model Mayhem is a joke so when you tell someone you have found work on Model Mayhem or you have a profile on the website, they will laugh at you because they site is a joke and so are the people on there
I was on modelmayhem years ago then discovered that my profile had been deleted because apparently I broke their rules. Tried to re-open then create a new account with a new email because they wouldn't delete the email from their database or restore it.
Now finally got a new account, I got a subscription because I wanted to be a good member and follow the rules, only to find out I am blocked again because according to them my account was hacked!
So I had to read through a lot of nonsense basic idiotic stuff and confirm that I understand but that is not all. Now I have to confirm to get a new password that they will scramble.
All I want to do is cancel my subscription at this point but I have no access. Until it is fixed their way. What normal professional site punishes their customers for being hacked on THEIR end! I WANT MY MONEY BACK! Too bad there is not zero rating.
