I have purchased from Mood online many times. Yes, it can be tricky in that sometimes if the yardage is low on a fabric you may not get it when the order is processed. The customer service person pulling the fabric for shipping can take up to 7 days which is probably why this happens. I have never been charged for the fabric that did not make the shipment, its just disappointing. The fabrics have always been top quality and I have made many articles of clothing that are stunning. The prices per yard may seem a bit high if you are a bargain shopper but be aware the quality is very good. I am lucky enough to have the Mood store in Los Angeles about an hour drive from my home. The selection at the brick and mortar is far superior.
I Had 1254 points saved up on my account (worth about $62 off an order) and was going to use them to get some fabric but when I logged in it was only 16. After 45 minutes on hold (which is a recorded voice saying "thanks for waiting please hold" over and over...) Customer service told me their new system was randomly allocating points to people and their version of fixing it was to zero out people's accounts. When I told them I had been buying there for several years and never used my points yet so I was not one of the "free points" people, he said there was no record of any purchases in their new system and they would not give me my points back. This on top of about 1/3 of every order being sent the wrong fabrics, means I'll never be shopping there again, and if you want your products to arrive on time and be the correct item, I recommend you don't either.
Tip for consumers:
I was told if you put any sale item in your cart, the whole order no longer qualifies for points, including using a coupon.

Used several over the years, didn’t get any this time, refused to use again.
I learned about Mood Fabric from watching Project Runway. I've ordered several pieces and as I earn swatches I've gotten free swatches. The fabric has always been stunning. About customer service - I called to clarify 2 fabrics that seemed similar and was offered swatches. I was told she would mail me the swatches. I was looking at another fabric and asked that a swatch be included. She said it would be about a week before I would receive it in the mail in an envelop. I paid nothing and received 3 swatches just as I was promised.
I see you want to know who I am. I'm 72 yrs old and last month completed an online fashion design course. I have sew in past years with a fashion designer however I am now a retired nurse. I sew for myself and friends as well as taking in alterations and sewing challenge posed by customers who find my business online.
Try not to deal with returning, exchanging from this website purchase. Its great selection of fabrics, but representative you are talking with are not reliable of charging right amount of your order. Let's keep technology handle by computer. Order smart.
Those glossy photos of fabric and dresses can engross people into buying material that they don't really need and the sizes in terms of the width of the fabric given are not even or standard 3 yard wide sizes. Look for a local factory retail outlet or bargain warehouse that can give you good service. Denim is often cheaply available at these places. Mood fabric also does not have coupons despite what the external websites and discount code autofill sections of their checkout page might imply. Be a prudent skinflint.
Tip for consumers:
Insist upon dye-fast properly loom woven cloth if you should choose to shop with these people. A linen-checker or magnifier/tester is invaluable. The dye of this retailer's selection often runs in the laundry washing machine.
DO NOT, I Repeat DO NOT buy a gift from Mood Fabrics. Was gifted a 200$ electronic Mood Card that was never sent. Buyer had to call and email Brittany several weeks to get a resolution that ended up being a store credit of 300$. Get to the in-store register to purchase fabric and Linnette says she can't locate credit. She wasn't much help at all, looked at me like I was speaking another language. Ended up buying fabric with cash, but I will take my business elsewhere. I hear Melinated Fabrics has great quality fabric.
I bought material on several occasions and always a problem when I call costumer service the woman does not want to give me a solution I ordered 2 yards and they send me two pieces of different material, I could not do my project, it was bad with my client and even worse I have to waste time in go to the post office to return the material to receive my money back horrible experience
