I am so happy I found MuseScore the piano sheet music is amazing from beginners to advance and you can download without any issues. MuseScore has a wide variety of sheet music for piano and they are so amazing. Thank you MuseScore!
I agree with a number of other reviewers that this company's sales tactics are designed to be confusing. I wanted to get a free 7-day trial and thought that's what I was signing up for. There wasn't a page checkout page with the price clearly stated until after I checked out with PayPal and discovered I'd just paid $55 for something I don't want and can't use. I'm hoping their customer service dept. will refund the ridiculous fee. If they do, I will amend this review.
Awful site and service. They provide almost no content and when they do it's riddled with errors. Customer service super unprofessional. Overall sloppy operation. Worse part is that the trail seems fake as you're unable to cancel during the trial period and not contacted until after to be told it's to late. Feels like a smoke and mirrors scam.
I signed up for Musescore to look at one sheet music but did not want to commit to a subscription yet. On the site, it said there was a 7 day free trial so I signed up put in my card information cause they force you to create an account and put these infos. Few hours later, I get an email from them and they have already taken $60 out of my bank!?!
Thank you paypal for saving me form these scammers!
My experience matches that of many others here. The free trial never really cancels, they put me on yearly auto payment, they made the same offers you see in other reviews, told me they can only partially refund me, and can refund only I first close the paypal case ( not true, closing case means you can never re -open) then stopped responding to my emails. Wish i read the review here first! Always red the reviews before you buy!
Tip for consumers:
stay away! use paypal for protection of you don't!
They offer a '1 week, no obligation free trial' but took money immediately and are refusing to refund. They even have a special email ready to send out to people who complain about not being refunded (see pic). Do not pay this company any money, they are utterly dishonest.
Hello Hanna, Thank you for your feedback. We do offer a free trial nonetheless. The only thing is, if you click on the "Special offer", you will be redirected to a different subscription plan, which does not include a free trial period (this info is included in the plan description), but this special plan does come with a significant discount.
I was lead to believe there would be a free into of 3 days. But instead my PayPal was charged $39.99 immediately. In a very short period of time I found out that they had nothing of interest for me. They are now trying offer me discounted membership(downgrade) for something I have no use for now or in the future. They have fallen silent until I filed a complaint with PayPal.
Tip for consumers:
Check reviews before investigating this site.

Hello Melissa, Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry, but we didn't advertise a 3-day free trial. We have a 7-day free trial for some of the plans. It seems that you have clicked the "special offer" option and selected a plan without a trial. Since a subscription with a free trial period is preselected, if you wish to obtain a subscription without a trial but with a discount, you need to click on the "special offer" button. Yes, some of our subscription plans do not include a free trial period. This information is indicated in the descriptions of these plans and at the final confirmation of your subscription choice, where you also authorize the purchase or the free trial, depending on the option you have selected.
Yeah apparently I should read some reviews before experimenting with a free trial. Canceled my auto renew, still got charged 70 dollars, then they offered me 15 dollar refund and stopped engaging with me altogether. No phone number listed either which is rather frustrating

Of course it's awesome that people can get assistance during winter holidays, and I think that only the best companies provide such service. But the fact that support has to work this time of the year until $#*!.pm is terrifying.
Do you have any private life there, huh?
I would give 0 stars if I could. I signed up for a free trial and was immediately charged $59.99. I reached out to the company immediately to give them a chance to rectify this error and I was met with much resistance. I was offered two options of which neither were full refunds. When I demanded a refund because I was not given a free trial, and immediately charged a large amount of money, I was told that they would not be refunding me due to their "policy." I did not use their services at all, so they have stolen money from me. Judging from the reviews here, I see I am not the only one. I hope they are found out for the thieves that they are, and shut down. I will be recommending other sites to my musician friends and slandering their name all over the Internet. This is disgusting.

After a free trial I was charged $49 for a year pro-membership subscription. I didn't know anything about autopayment feature and used the site only once during a trial. It is clearly stated on the site that I'am eligible for a refund if cancelled during 14 day period. I contacted support immediately after I was charged and they kindly offered a 40% refund! No reply from them after I insisted on full refund.
PS The support contacted me and returned $42 out of $49. $7 are lost for nothing.
Judging by their staff names, working hours and domain reg data it's run by an eastern-european company located in Belorussia or something like that. Money is all there, no one cares about reputation and they NEVER give money back without a fight. I should be extremely happy that I managed to salvage a lion share of it.
Hi, thank you for the review. You were informed about the price and the plan while subscribing. Also, we send reminding letters to all who subscribed via the website 3 days before the end of the trial.
But we understand that this experience was frustrating to you and we want to change it for the better. Please contact the same support rep and mention this review. I'm sure you'll get the right response and a satisfying refund.
Thank you for being our customer.
Like many others, my "free trial" was renewed unauthorized. The thing is, I had already cancelled my subscription, and they forcefully renewed it via iTunes for $69.99/yr. Asked them personally for a refund out of courtesy only to get an unrelated "sorry you didn't like the subscription!" response email. I ended up submitting a claim with both PayPal and Apple, but be aware that even cancelling your subscription won't stop them from charging. After originally cancelling mg subscription, they sent me email after email about how they couldn't charge mg card because I had cancelled, only to g behind my back and do it anyway.
Hello Ellie, Thanks for your message. I can see that you've started a free trial with an annual subscription and didn't cancel it before the end of the free trial period. So you were charged for a 1-year subscription as advertised. So this purchase was fully pre-authorized on your side while subscribing. You did subscribe via the app using the Apple iTunes billing system. Developers are unable to cancel or issue refunds for Apple iTunes subscriptions. This is why our technical support informed you that for refunds of payments in iTunes, you need to contact Apple Support, and provided you with instructions.
I got auto charged on 31st march 2023 via PayPal before my 7 day free trial was up. Requested a refund by submitting a form with proof and they still haven't issued. Now asking me to cancel my PayPal escalation to issue a refund which is absolutely BS! They will not let you download content unless you select a subscription plan! I'm still awaiting response from PayPal to sort this out!
Hello Shane, Thanks for your message. I was able to find your original request. Based on your account info, you started 7-day free trial on 2023-03-24 04:30:57 (UTC+2). So the end of the free trial was on 2023-03-31 04:31 (UTC+2). You didn't cancel your free trial before this date, so you were charged correctly as advertised. So you were not charged before the end of the free trial period. You did cancel auto-renew for your subscription only at 2023-03-31 12:40:30 (UTC+2).
They use the typical ploy of suckering you into a subscription after a 7 day free trial, then don't notify you beforehand that your trial is ending. When requesting a refund, they give you a half baked option to get some money back. If the product was useful it'd be another thing, but the quality of the music was sub par at best. 0/10, would not recommend.
Tip for consumers:
If you’re actually going to use it, ask to cancel it so you get 10 months free.

I signed up for the free trial but I could not log in back to my account to cancel it. The password retrieval was not working. Later, I received an email asking to update my payment details as my card was expiring, I thought this would be my chance to cancel, but again, I could not access the account. And then a few days after, my bank account was charged for the annual subscription. When I emailed to claim a refund stating that I could not have accessed my account, they completely disregarded that and replied that there was no refund possible due to some clause in terms of services stating that if I make any claims more than 14 days after payment, it's too late. I complained that I didn't receive any reminders for the renewal charge which explains why I was surprised by such charge and amount, their answer was "it may have been lost due to technical problems". Honestly, this is bad customer service and if there's an obstruction to cancel your subscription, it's dishonest.
Tip for consumers:
Don't get fooled by the free trial, read the reviews online which points to the same issue
I am not one to write bad reviews but all of these reviews here with one star are completely true. I have gotten charged now two years in a row for a service that I don't use. Very unimpressed. At a time like this during a pandemic it is horrifying that they are taking advantage of people and refusing refunds.
This is a completely fraudulent company and an absolute scam. I have reported them to my credit card company. In researching the company, they try to appear a business from Ireland. Further investigation shows they are actually from CYPRUS,, where notorious business practises and fraud are unfortunately fairly standard.

Hello Granny, Thank you for reaching out. If you have any questions regarding the operation of our company, please contact us at support@musescore.com. We will be happy to help.
Found this website because I wanted to find a place to leave a review about this awful business. I was trying to find music for my daughter and I to perform and thought this website might be helpful. The preview of what I needed wasn't loading so I clicked to sign up for a free trial and ended up paying 40$ bc of their bait and switch tactics. Then to find out the score didn't have what it said it had. Customers service refuses a refund, but did offer me half price subscription.

Hello Wendeth, Thank you for your feedback. Yes, we offer a plan with a 7-day free trial period. This plan was pre-selected by clicking on the "Start free trial" button. However, you did not start the free trial. Instead, you selected a 12-month plan at a discounted price by choosing the "Special Offer" option during the subscription process. Consequently, you were shifted to a plan that offers a discount but does not include a free trial. Following this, at the next step, you reviewed the details of the discounted non-trial plan, entered your payment information, and confirmed your direct purchase. Yes, our refund policy does not imply a full refund due to licensing agreements, but you can create refund request by ToS to receive the maximum possible refund: https://musescore.com/legal/terms.
Scam auto-renews and will not give refunds, only weird partial refunds and insists on keeping part of your money. Do not purchase. Software is fine but the company is not trustworthy. Customer service lies about "authorization only to give x refund" etc, story changes all the time. Filed a complaint with my credit card and bbb.
Thank you for your feedback. Auto-renewal is also not hidden information. You confirm authorization during the subscription process. Yes, our refund policy does not imply a full refund due to licensing agreements https://musescore.com/legal/terms.
I hate these companies who offer the 7 day free trial and then charge you if you forget to cancel it. It's slimy in my opinion. They should cancel your access if you don't upgrade to the full account, not charge you $100! And, of course, they refuse to refund it. I'm so angry at them that I'm leaving bad reviews all over the internet. What else can I do? This has to stop!

Don't be fool with their free 7 days trial subscription. They will lead you into purchasing their non-trial subscription and charge you the annual fee. I can't believe they are scamming the poor musicians.
Tip for consumers:
Don’t try to start their free trial subscription.
It will trick you to purchase the non-trial subscription what they call the instant subscription.

Hello, Thank you for your feedback. We provide a plan that includes a 7-day free trial period. This plan is activated by clicking the "Start Free Trial" button. However, if you opt for the "Special Offer" during the subscription process, the free trial will not be available.
They charge you without any reminder or any informing. I contacted them immediately when I received the e-mail with the charging fee. I asked for the the refund because I didn't use anymore and I didn't approve the payment. However, like others' reviews, Musescore doesn't refund 100% and proposes you longer usage. It's the worst service I have ever seen. Usually, people want to stop using because they don't need anymore, and then Musescore took your money without informing you and proposed you "We can't refund you, but we offer you free 10-month additional access! ". It's really ridiculous that they think customer will be happy about that.
Be very careful when signing up for the free trial. When I tried I ended up paying for a year's subscription ($30) because I didn't notice one page where they had pre-selected that option (I would have had to change the slider to no). When I pointed this out and asked for a refund they were rude and tried to gaslight me (saying I must have clicked the slider).
I'm pretty fond of MuseScore - both the software as well as the website. I've used to find numerous scores for many of my favourite video game compositions. Many of the people leaving bad reviews are simply salty about not knowing how free trials work. MuseScore is not the only company that does this.
Again, I wish to sue them! They are Scammer! They are a Scammer by the so-called "free trial". Then charge you money yearly. I was once "free trail" many years ago, then not using it at all. Then I recently found that I have been charged for a few years and didn't realize it.
Tip for consumers:
Do Not Try It. They are scammers!

This platform used to be good because it was called "open source". However, it starts to ask for money whenever you want to download any music scores. Therefore, it becomes an profitable company and no more an open source.
Tip for consumers:
I suggest using an open source platform without paying subscription fees

Hello Claudde, Thanks for your message. All the scores in our database are legal and licensed so we pay royalties to copyright owners. That's why you need to pay for the subscription.
Surprise surprise, yet another customer who has cancelled their trial only to be charged for a subscription anyway. Which they will refuse to refund even if you contact them minutes after being charged. MuseScore is a complete scam and their customer service is absolute garbage.
Hello, Thanks for your feedback. It seems that you have chosen a subscription without a trial but at a discounted price, instead of the regular subscription without a discount, which includes a trial. This is the only way the money could have been charged immediately. Please contact us at support@musescore.com and mention the word "sitejabber" and your name in the body of the email. We will try to review your case.
