I am so happy I found MuseScore the piano sheet music is amazing from beginners to advance and you can download without any issues. MuseScore has a wide variety of sheet music for piano and they are so amazing. Thank you MuseScore!
I agree with a number of other reviewers that this company's sales tactics are designed to be confusing. I wanted to get a free 7-day trial and thought that's what I was signing up for. There wasn't a page checkout page with the price clearly stated until after I checked out with PayPal and discovered I'd just paid $55 for something I don't want and can't use. I'm hoping their customer service dept. will refund the ridiculous fee. If they do, I will amend this review.
I love writing music with the musescore software. But they make the page look like you'll easily get a free week. I did not get the free week and had to convince them to reverse the charge. When they finally agreed, they made me jump through hoops with my bank and paypal, then ghosted me and did not provide a refund. I am very surprised and disappointed in this company. Do NOT use.
For my MYP Personal Project, I decided to compose a musical piece for the piano. When searching for a suitable app for me, I came across Musescore 3 and downloaded it. It was amazing.
I consider myself an intermediate when it comes to music. For someone of my skill level, the app was extremely easy to use. I was able to find almost everything I needed in the palette (I added extra things that I needed to it). Moreover, I could even personalize many components in my score. In the case I had any problems, I could look at their website and find answers. This last thing was extremely useful too. It is worth mentioning that you can share your score with others and vice versa, which works very well seeing that people are creating new scores daily.
I don't know about the free trial though, as I decided to use the free version all along. So, I won't give my opinion on that. However, I don't think that it is really their fault, judging from other reviews I saw.
I signed up for a free seven day trial offer and they ended up charging me immediately for a full year. I immediately contacted customer service. They initially refused to help. After sending several emails and filling out a special form, they gave me a prorated refund minus $10.
Hello Marina, Thank you for your feedback. Yes, some of our subscription plans do not include a free trial period. Since a subscription with a free trial period is preselected, if you wish to obtain a subscription without a trial but with a discount, you need to click on the "special offer" button. It seems that you have clicked this option and selected a plan without a trial. This information is indicated in the descriptions of these plans and at the final confirmation of your subscription choice, where you also authorize the purchase or the free trial, depending on the option you have selected.
I've asked for a refund because I forgot to cancel auto-renew and was out of cash but guys offered me a giant discount and of course, I said Yes. As a musician, I really appreciate such help and kindness. Thank you, guys.
Musescore started charging if you want to download pdfs from their website. I started a free trial intending to cancel it and was hospitalized immediately after starting it. When I was discharged, I noticed a 70 dollar charge and immediately cancelled the subscription and requested a refund. All they offered me was 35 percent off or 10 extra months, really trying to squeeze money out of me. I already lost a lot of money and I'm really upset with Musescore. DO NOT USE!
We're so relieved to hear that you've recovered and are out of the hospital; our entire support team sends their best wishes for your continued health and well-being. Yes, as you didn't cancel the free trial before the end, then you will be charged. Please contact us at support@musescore.com and mention the word "sitejabber" and your name in the body of the email. We will try to review your case.
I was immediately charged 39USD after subscribing to a free trial. When I complained they said I had signed up for Pro and offered a 25% discount. Further complaining and they processed a $30 refund (prorated). I have argued that it cannot be pro rated whilst Im still within the trail period and attempting to recoup the remaining $9. Guessing most people give up at this point and they have successfully extracted $9 from everyone. Total disgrace that a seemingly legit website needs to rip people off in order to make money.
Hello Clare, Thank you for your feedback. It seems that you have clicked the "special offer" option and selected a plan without a trial. Yes, some of our subscription plans do not include a free trial period. This info is not hidden. You also confirmed all subscription details on the final step of subscribing. Yes, our refund policy does not imply a full refund due to licensing agreements https://musescore.com/legal/terms.
This is a scam.
I signed up for a seven day free trial and authorised the £0 charge in my banking app as you usually get with free trials, only for it then to immediately take the full subscription cost.
When I contacted customer services they quickly replied to tell me there were multiple subscription/trial options and I'd chosen the wrong one, but they were very kindly prepared to either give me a 25% discount or some months free.
For a moment I doubted myself, until I got suspicious enough to check here and see so many other people complaining about being shaken down like this. I'm absolutely not having it. As I replied to customer services, I never sign up for a subscription without a free trial first to make sure it's something that'll actually be useful to me. I KNOW I didn't sign up for the paid version as they're claiming. The speed of their original response and the number of identical complaints here proves it.
I told customer services the two options they offered were no good to me and I wanted a full refund. Unsurprisingly, their response to this hasn't come as quickly as their response trying to gaslight me into believing I'd made a mistake when I know I did not.
This is a dishonest company clearly making money from this bait & switch and hoping people will accept the "explanation" that they didn't properly read what they were signing up for. Avoid at all costs.
If I receive my full refund I will update this review. If not, I'll begin the chargeback process with my bank and report this company as a scam. I just hope people check here in the future before trying to get the free trial.
Attached: the email I was sent very shortly after my refund request. The fact that they have this reply ready to send complete with handy clickable buttons to their "solutions" is proof to me that the whole setup is deliberate. Combine that with the number of identical complaints on here, Trustpilot, and similar sites, it looks extremely bad for them. I will of course be happy to be proven wrong and retract my comments if/when I get my full refund. Until then, I can only assume this company is behaving fraudulently.
Please be aware, this company is a scam. They charged my Visa with $99.99 and would not cancel my subscription. When I reached out, they declined my refund, and offered me a 30% discount that I declined as well. I called my bank and reported them. I waiting for them to respond about my refund.
Hello Tina, Thank you for your feedback. The subscription can only be canceled at your request. It is not canceled automatically. Yes, our refund policy does not imply a full refund due to licensing agreements https://musescore.com/legal/terms.
The customer service representative that helped me was very sweet and did everything in their power to help me! I was in a unique situation with my arts career and they completely understood. I will say I did not get a full refund, but I got most back and am very satisfied with what I did get refunded. The service was very useful to me while I needed it, and when I do return to the arts I will be using it again!
They hide auto renewal in the user agreement. Ever read those? They do not send a notice before it auto renews. I tried to cancel it the day it renewed. Nope, wouldn't let me. It's just a front for scamming musicians out of their money.
Tip for consumers:
Avoid.

Hello Humbert, Auto-renewal for subscriptions is not hidden information. During the subscription process, we notify about the presence of auto-renew. Also, a few days before the auto-renew payment, we send a letter with information about your subscription, the terms, and the payment amount.
They say they offer a free 3 month trial and take ur credit card info. Before u know it u are charged for the full amount and then every year they charge u. I had no idea I was being charged yearly until for some reason this year I got an email saying I was charged. I looked at my PayPal account and sure enough they have charged me $49US every year for 3 years. When I contacted them to cancel and to tell them it is ridiculous I have paid 3 years without knowing, they send links for u to read but never offer a refund or a cancellation. I even told them I know longer play piano. They don't care. They are pure frauds! Whatever u do do not give them any info. They stuff is subpar as well. I am so disappointed and horrified as well as angry with myself for being duped. That's $200 plus out the door.

Hello Christina, Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, we do not have a three-month trial period. We have never advertised such a plan. We only have a 7-day free trial for some plans. Auto-renewal is also not hidden information. You confirm authorization during the subscription process. Additionally, we send receipts for purchases and provide information well in advance of the subscription renewal date.
Last friday I faced an issue with my musescore accoutn. I've tried to reset me pw a million times but was not able to do it. I decided to contact support because i was stuck. The girl who assisted me was super polite and helpful, she asked not to tell her name so i won't. Thanks again cutie
I would give zero stars if I could. I signed up for a free trial so that I could see how the print quality was for pieces. I clicked "Try for free," was taken to a screen where it said I was signing up for a 7-day free trial and would be charged $0 until my trial ended, where I would then be charged for the subscription. This was not true - they charged me immediately. I contacted them about this, and they claimed that I did not sign up for the free trial and they would not be refunding my money. I have filed a complaint with PayPal, so hopefully they will resolve the issue.
This company is an absolute scam - do not sign up for anything that claims to be a "free trial" - it most certainly is not, and they will not correct any of the issues.
Musescore, org- big scam- Tey forced me to give them my credit card number to try out a few pieces of there music that was not even complete! Also, they give you a free 7- day trial another joke, still no full piece of music! So I automatically cancel everything and said please remove my credit card from their site!, I go to my credit card statement find a charge for 4.00 for one piece of sheet music that was incomplete! And charged me for a full year of music service-49.99. Neither was asked for. I called the BBB and emailed they said to complain to Attorney General's Office which I did. Now over 6 months later they are trying to charge me again!
Tip for consumers:
If they ask for your credit card go to another service!!

None- Because could not even print out a full page!!! scam was to make you pay for a full year ,just to print out one full score of sheet music, which in my case was only 2 pages, which at other sites I found for free
Like others on this site I've also been bitten by this business. I trialled this service for 30 days free and used it only once. When I needed to cancel my login details a few weeks later I found that my login credential would not work on the site (details saved into my browser). After this I contacted their support team and they said they couldn't find my details. While the "customer support" was pending for the next days, my credit card was charged for their yearly fee of 65AUD. I asked them to refund me as I clearly was not even able to use the service while my support case was pending and they said they would keep the cost for a monthly charge - wtf? This business stinks and I just hope they don't get you too.
Tip for consumers:
Don't put your credit card details into their database!

I am disgusted by Musescore and its customer service. I had to send multiple messages, emails, requests, to even get a half baked response that they can't help me. I know I am one of many were tricked and mislead into signing up for a free trial, which actually wasn't free and was immediately charged - even though I canceled the subscription immediately. My US Bank account was charged twice for $39.99 each. They offered a $30 refund total - which doesn't even cover the double charge let alone both charges. I have sent many emails and got one response saying they cannot refund the full amount - without even addressing the double charge. Normally, I would forget and move on and I have never left a negative review in my life - but this bothers me to a great extent. I am in college, and cannot afford $80 to be taken out of my account because they tricked me into purchasing a subscription and then double charged me.
I am contacting Pay Pal to hopefully get a full refund, because this is ridiculous. I wish I had seen these reviews before I signed up. I just wanted to surprise my husband by learning the song I walked down the aisle to on the piano. Extremely disappointed.
Tip for consumers:
Don't try and do the free trial.

They have a free trial scam going on. If you try to sign up for the free trial, it immediately charges you. Others have mentioned this. They refuse to refund. You have to go through your credit card provider.
Musescore just charged my credit card for an unwanted and unordered subscription to their pro version which I did not order and don't want! They make it nearly impossible to get a refund and the quality of their scores for string quartet is servely lacking! Don't fall for their scam!
I forgot about my free SEVEN-day trial period, but luckily, I remembered on the seventh day, and I then canceled my subscription. As you can tell from the photo provided, I was charged on the seventh day. Unfortunately, my card was charged for a yearly subscription anyway ($69.99) a few hours after I had canceled it, and as soon as it was, I contacted customer service and asked for a refund. I was met with horrible customer service, where they went on to say I knew what I was agreeing to when I subscribed. Well, they agreed to email me a reminder that my free trial was ending soon, and they did not. Again, I did cancel my subscription in time but was still charged. So so so frustrating. They said that they could give me a 35% discount and keep my current plan. I have no use for this app/website/company, as many more companies provide more sheet music for much cheaper and with much better customer service. The seven-day free trial period is only six days and they charge you on the seventh. Don't waste your time with this company, even if you cancel your subscription, they will still charge you. Any other company would refund you as soon as they realized what had happened, instead they just waste your time until you just give up.
Tip for consumers:
That its a scam website.

I signed up for the 7 day free version. Unfortunately, I was unable to access my account during the 7 days to unsubscribe so the payment for the Pro version was taken £69 from my account. I am still unable to access the account despite contacting Paula at "support" they have ignored my request to refund my money and to access my account.
Tip for consumers:
Customer service very poor

Hell Dot, Thanks for your message. Please contact our Support team at support@musescore.com and we will cancel your subscription фnd we will help you gain access to your account. Our Support team always responds to emails within 24 hours.
Free, free, free. Do not believe it! It is a free trial of seven days only. That is not enough time to solve the problem of not being given the activation code for the account, that you need to cancel the subscription. The answers to the mails I send, asking for a refund get replied with lots of little letters and 'told you so'. So I paid a lot of dollars for one (free) piece of music for my 12-year old acordion playing son.
Kind of furious, really.

four pages of sheet music. This costs me 69 dollars. The nice gesture is that they give me 35% discount. It will still be around ten dollars per page.
I forgot my login details, such as the user, which email address and my password, and could therefore no longer use musescore. I then emailed musescore and received a prompt response. I was supposed to prove, that I had paid the fee for the annual subscription, otherwise I could not prove my identity. Fortunately, I didn't have to initiate an identification process.
After I emailed my credit card statement to musescore, a short time later I received my username and the information of the email address I was registered with. I logged in again and was able to call up a link to select a new password. Since then I have had access again and use musescore.
That's what I call an uncomplicated service.
Clicked their free trial that took me to a small subscroption, no trial, thought it was okay. As payment processed it turned into a PRO subscription in the span of 5 minutes without my concsent and took 39.99$ US. Customer Service has been EXTREMELY poor. They offer all sorts of discounts and subscriptions before telling you that it's impossbie to recieve a full refund because of the time you've spent asking them for a refund. Had to escalate it to paypal to try and get a refund.
Stay away!
Tip for consumers:
SCAM! DO NOT CLICK THE FREE TRIAL!!!
If you have a subscription, cancel it through paypal.
Their customer support will not let go of your money.
Hello Rea, Thank you for your feedback. It seems that you have clicked the "special offer" option and selected a plan without a trial. Unfortunately, the free period is a scam. Musescore charged my credit card even though I had cancelled. Emails to them also failed to get a refund, so I am now working with credit card to get a refund. Beware they will charge you anyway.
Tip for consumers:
The free period is a scam, you will be charged regardless of whether you cancel.

I don't appreciate businesses taking money out if my account with zero notice, I dont care if it's autorenew, where's the warning, honesty, heads up...
Even the phone and internet companies send you a bill when taking money, what a shameful business model! Musescore has made me regret being a musician, just another money hungry company keen to rop of musicians.
Most of the music that comes of the website is inccorect anyway. Count me out!
Tip for consumers:
Don't waste your time or money.
