I've been TRYING to set up my accounts on myGovID (the iOS app) as well as the MyGov.com… for 2 hours now and still don't have it logged in. My Medicare owes my parents account money and they can't pay unless I've completed all the required steps. This stuff has been far to complicated to the point it's not even worth the hassle in my case.

I've reentered the same Medicare detail 4 time now and the website just says to redo it over and over.

Wasted Time

I have spent the last 3 days trying to get this site to operate as I presume the developers wished it to do. I am an elderly person and regret that I have used up this part of my few remaining years of life on such a useless project. I have been asked the same questions numerous times and been locked out several times. I am computer literate and indeed worked in computing but this is beyond me. My cat could produce a better program.

Typical government cockup

Couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery. Spent 2 hours trying to understand it before giving up in disgust. No wonder the country is in such a mess. How about a minus score.

Are you kidding me, the worst software ever, convoluted, keeps breaking down, will not allow me to even send my photo, but won't let me get past that point. How does the Government keep getting it so wrong so often. Such a convoluted ridiculous app. I understand they want to make sure of your identity, but I've been passed back and forward through several sites and keep going around in circles. My wife and I are old, we have one phone between us, but the government wants us both to have phones and bot with mobile and data accounts. Why cant they design the software to work off one phone for older couples like us. So I bought a phone, costs me $50 a month, just so I can get on their app... but it won; t let me, wants to take my picture, but just keeps on that page and nothing more... been on the thing for hours and the batteries now just about dead. I can't afford the money or the time at my age.

Truly disturbing

Just waited 45 minutes on a hold because of a problem MyGimps made happen. Just for an overpaid $#*!-guzzling wh0re to not reply to a single thing i say and then hang up on me.

No wonder our government is so corrupt and disabled, how the $#*! are we supposed to get into restaurants and cafes if we CANT EVEN $#*!ING GET INTO OUR ACCOUNTS!

I really do hope our government officials either lose their jobs, families or preferably their lives.

This $#*!ing app and helpline is horrible and you $#*!s should be ashamed.

I truly hope you all die.

Except for the Queensland Health Payroll system, I have never seen such a poorly developed application.
Most analysts use the 'keep it simple stupid' principal to the design process. This app has obviously been developed with guidelines to make it as difficult as possible to use.
After wasting hours trying to get everything in-line, set-up and going two steps backward for every step forward, I have given up. Come on - get real.

I've been trying to verify my identification for the past 3 hours, I've followed what they've told me step by step, looked on my myGov website to see exactly what they want from me, I do what they say to the absolute max and quadruple check every character I've entered and the same 442 error is appearing saying something is wrong with my identification? Nothing is wrong! They don't even explain what's wrong or what you need to fix they just lock you out of your account or ban you instantly with nothing to go off, besides to visit the myGov website. Complete and absolute joke of an app, I'm a 17 year old teenager who spends most their time on electronics and this is still impossible, I truly feel bad for the elderly who may not use electronics, because this would be impossible for them. Aren't the developers of this app meant to have government level professionalism? This is the complete opposite. Now when I finally do complete this, my tax will be going towards paying the undeserving developers of this app. They need to be fired instantly and replaced. Do better.

Most complicated site ever

How they expect the elderly and disabled to navigate this site, I will never understand. Just logging in is a nightmare. As a career of the old and a disabled child and helping my computer illiterate husband…I have 4 my gov accounts to deal with. It's sends me in to the worst anxiety just knowing I have to use it. It's a nightmare and who ever designed it should be ashamed of themselves.

I would like to mention how difficult this site to navigate as there is too much information to sift through. Too many adds and information not relating to the topic being addressed. No doubt these sights are designed by those who understand what they are doing, but cannot understand how a beginner to their sight might not see it the same way. There is a bit of advice I would like to give them and that is KISS (Keep it simple...) Unfortunately we have all come from a background of Microsoft Windows followed and by Apple. Our history of computers has been one of work for the computer rather than the computer work for us. We are stuck in this archaic logic as we have been conditioned to it. Just as well the aeroplanes we travel in don't use the same logic or we would be in big trouble. A airline pilot could be computer illiterate, but as long as he can just put the coordinates into the planes computer then the computer will do the rest. Not so with our windows and apple logic. The plane would fall out of the sky by the time the pilot navigated his way around Microsoft or Apple archaic logic and their programmers.

I've been submitting tax returns for 47 years. Paying state governments and councils as well as utilities. Living at the same address for 8 years. Have bank accounts in my name. Yet the ATO want me to prove who I am. Spend my time to get a director ID. I have a MyGov account. I have a tax file number. Why not just use that info. No the IT people want to create more work for themselves.

OK I'll play their silly game. First attempt at proving who I am. I use my drivers licence. Scan the card it didn't recognise me. I deleted the app and tried again. Inserting the details this time. Again it didn't recognise me.

Instructions were to go to help screens which again are useless.

Useless operator
November 4, 2021

I have called myGov today and told him my account been blocked permanent, and I already made a new account. He said I can't make one until he sort it out his end for me. Anyway prior to this. I got myGovID made from my old email. And it's asking me to go back on my old myGov login to edit. So I made a new myGovID and now won't verify my ID so I can't finished my account.

I'm deaf. I set up all mygov apps on both my ipad and computer. Not easy but eventually worked it out.

All worked fine until my computer or ipad was hacked. I reset the ipad and sent the computer to a pro to check. Email from MyGov telling me there was an important message.

Off to sign in through the ipad app off to the MyGov generator and told my device was already registered so please delete it and re register through Account settings. Back to the computer and aaaaargh I don't believe it; to get to account settings you have to get a code from the generator... and... please phone the help desk. I'm deaf; what do I do now?

Send an email to myGov of course. Naturally they're all too busy having cups of tea and going to meetings to actually have an online help desk so an email it is. I sent one telling them my problems and why I cannnot get into myGov. That was seven days ago. No reply.

Deciding to try to access MY myGov through the Digital Identity I spent another half an hour putting in the information in the hope I don't have to use the Generator.

All worked fine and the ipad connected to the computer connected to the knee bone, connected to the... what in the name of the wee man? It just asked me for the code through code generator!... and told me... The device is already registered so phone 13 23 07. Help me please... it's Catch 22 time or dealing with morons in myGov.

What am I supposed to do now?

This would be the worst app design ive ever encountered after many attempts to register only to be told that my identity cant be validated but other apps i've tried regarding my identity work first time, every time.
