It is the worst's I've ever seen if I wanted to watch commercial for five hours I would have watched DR.Phil show thay said this one part would be commercial free what a bunch of crap there is nothing that will get me to watch anymore of this junk
I turned the sound off while watching the Olympics due to the talking heads nasty narrative pointed at the 2 countries athletes the USA is fighting with now. The USA has committed atrocities against many groups of peoples. The Olympics is a place where people gather to compete peacefully. Some of your announcers ruined that NBC.
Such an annoying experience. Hosts are talking and talking, repeating themselves, and repeating old episodes a hundredth time. Just filling the time. As an example, a closing ceremony is supposed to be shown at 7 pm CST, it's already 7:30, and nothing but blah-blah from their studio. No wonder nobody in the USA are watching Olympic games. Bad bad coverage.
Focus on "tricks" and not on skill or style. Where was the speed skating. Most boring coverage ever.
This is the worst coverage of any Olympic Games I have ever seen. Not only were most of the sports not available through any thing the the horrible Peacock app ( that took 2 min to load and I have very fast bandwidth) but there were more commercials than content- and no way to forward through the highly repetitive commercials
At one point I made a list of the repeated commercials and am planning on boycotting those products for at least a year. Commentaries were inane and in informative. Really NBC, we're you even trying?
As a pationent winter olympics fan, having watched for 50 years. I am dismayed at this poorly produced broadcast. English speaking Commentators, whose accents are difficult to decipher, Broadcasters & coverage being cutoff for commercials. Cameras not catching snowboarders or skiers complete Ariel jumps. I am not alone, in this opinion, as majority of people, that I know who tuned in, share the same opinions.
The coverage of the Women's Figure Skating was very disappointing. The announcers, Weir and Lipinski went too far with their criticism. Just because they were privileged to have great coaches and their parents' support. It
doesn't mean it is the same in other countries. The skaters, specifically, the Russians, are children. The announcers don't know exactly what these skaters go through. They may have only seen what the Russians wanted them to see,, if and when they visited a Russian training center. The announcers were very arrogant and condescending. These Russian skaters probably have no choice in what they eat or drink. They are children and have to do what they're told. They may not have been informed about illegal substances or have any choice or voice in their training. They did not deserve the bashing the reporters gave them. Also, the cameras should not have followed these girls backstage, showing their heartbreak and tears of distress. Johnny should not have translated what they were saying.& It was an invasion of their privacy. This was horrible! All the blame should be on the adults- not the skaters! If the tests were negative at the Olympics, then they should be allowed to skate. SHAME ON NBC!
Every time I turn on an NBC Affiliate channel I get CURLING! A recently, and perhaps, wrong addition to the Winter Olympic lineup. This is a game (not a sport) that is NOT well understood by MOST Americans and - for good reason: It is BORING! Certainly other contests could have been covered more closely for the time offered by NBC.
So frustrating trying to enjoy these Olympics! More commercials than anything else! The split screen view is horrible! I get up and leave.
2/15/22 the Today show said that women's figure skating would begin tonight at 2000 ET. NBC ran adds during the day today saying the same thing. The women's figure skating was not broadcast at 2000 ET but men's bobsledding. Lying, sorry people. I hate it when people don't tell the truth just to get us to turn on the TV. Bob Costas would not have done that.
Commercials in the middle of the leaders' runs during big air and many other events! Otherwise, some of the announcers they had were sooooooo boring and unhelpful. "Didn't fully rotate, missed that landing..."... WOW! What helpful technical insight haha. Really anticlimatic and uninteresting. Annoucer was good for halfpipe, but kept getting spoken over by the non-specialist. Rude and disrespectful. Events were all piece-milled together so you never seemed to get full coverage of an event start to finish. These winter events only happens every 4 years. You'd think they could be better prepared. Very disappointing coverage of the Olympics. Worst I remember in 40 years.
Having a commercial while a snowboard or ski jumping run is going on is STUPID to say the least. I for one am not going to trade with the companies that put their commercials in the middle of a run. Just nothing but BS.
Coverage riddled with ads at the most inopportune times. Split screens for ads combined with long wait times for scores and dead air have made these games unwatchable. Too bad as the athletes are so exciting, but the coverage is horrendous. Maybe viewers will get lucky and see the olympics mover to a network that can manage them.
What a bunch of nasty, condescending, arrogant comments. Is it impossible to find a straight man instead ot the catty queens that are disgusting. Don't get me wrong, I'm gay myself, but, I find their commentary dreadful... like a couple of prancing queens with delusions of knowing all. No wonder I hate watching this travesty. Hail Hail Olympics... let's torture more Uighurs... sort of like Hitler's Olympics. What a disgrace
Wondering why NBC couldn't find an American commentator for our Olympics?! I find it annoying that Rebecca is anchoring our Olympics. I feel like I am watching BBC news. NBC- get with it.
We are trying to watch on SATURDAY NIGHT AT 8 pm! Prime time⦠watching repeat of Mens giant slalom that we just watched 10 minutes ago! Even the same commercials! WTF is wrong with your producers? This is beyond embarrassing! Is the SUPER BOWL really that important? You have totally dropped the ski!, the stone, the board, the skate! NBC should be ashamed!
I can't believe NBC runs commercials on half the screen with athletes performing on the other side with no sound for the athletes just sound for the commercial. The number of normal commercial breaks is beyond ridiculous but these athletes deserve to be seen on the full screen. NBC puts the good old mighty dollar before the athletes and viewers. I now refuse to watch NBC coverage due to this and only stream it. Also stop giving so much time to figure skating. People 50 and under have moved on to the half pipe and snow boarding and other more modern sports. Get with the times. Ice skating stopped being one of the most popular sports 15 years ago. It's a grandma sport in this day and age.
Hey NBC, get the cameras out of the faces of the US athletes. You chase around these athletes like the National Enquirer might do. Show them while their competing and being interviewed, then leave them alone, their under enough stress competing. Examples-Mikaela Shiffrin, Shaun White, Nathan Chen etc. The camera operators look like stalkers.
Worst coverage ever. Half the time you don't know who is making runs and split screen commercials cause you to miss the rest. Mens half pipe is the worst.
My favorite winter sport is curling. I am a long time fan, going back to when it was men in plaid pants who wore a Tam O'shanta and yes, they used brooms. There was also better TV coverage then vs. what you provide now.
I can only assume, yeah I know about assume. I watched Oscar and Felix also. I'm assuming that whoever is directing the curling broadcast, does not know curling.
If the sweepers or skip, or both are yelling directions, what good is an overhead camera shot that shows MAYBE 3 meters in front and often zooms in on only half the house. Sorry, but that's just pathetic. Remember 4 years to plan.
WHY do you not shoot lengthwise, so the viewer has a similar view to the players? That would enable the viewer to see the line and geat a better understanding of the contestants shouting directions.
Jason continually commenting on the contestants being miked so we can hear them talking strategy. However jason never shuts up so we can hear the contestants, talking about scraped knees when someone was 6. Absurd and quite contradictory.
Furthermore, when discussing the next critical shot instead of now doing an overhead shot you do butt and face shots. Never showing what they are planning. Your analysts do a nice job. Kevin is excellent.
On mulitiple occasions your viewers miss as many as 7 stones in an end because you can't record during your advertisements and show the whole contest?
Shift the stone count vertically to the side and show lengthwise shots.
Your non-USA team coverage is not listed as highlights only, but you do not show a complete competition. All it is is an opportunity to run tons of adverts. Shame on you.
The biathlon was chopped
You had four years to plan for this, four years, and people actually got together and were like: yeah, this is it, it's great? Do those people still have jobs? And you can't blame it on Covid, your product is TV, that's what you sell.
Back in day of those Tam O'Shantas there was a saying of " You've come a long way baby". Sad to say you have gone a long way baby. Backwards.
