This company is not reliable.
I wanted to sell my wedding dress. I paid the fee and they sent me an email the next day saying my dress was live. That was back in september. It is mid October and I noticed when I search as a buyer my dress is not even listed. I could only find it by using the link they emailed me which is useless since I need buyers to see it. I explained this to them but they were not helpful till I requested a refund. Then they said they would have it fixed but at this point I do not trust them at all. They are refusing to return my payment even though they did not provide me with the service they were supposed to. Not to mention any time I checked my seller profile there was always glitches with the site.

I ordered a wedding dress off of this site and, while the dress was pretty, it wasn't the one. I requested a return, knowing about the $50 return fee listed on their site. They were hard to get ahold of and the return process took almost a week because of how long I had to wait between emails. When I was finally able to return the dress, I heard nothing back confirming they had received it. After 3 days of ignoring my daily emails asking about it, they said that they received it "a few days ago" with "multiple stains" but had no pictures to support this claim. I only tried the dress on once, in my room - didn't even walk around in it - and then put it back in the garment bag and wrapped everything up to protect it inside the box. This company is a money scam and I hope everyone who works here has a hard time sleeping at night. I have little hope they will give me the refund I am owed, but I'm prepared to sue.

Hi Haley,

It is rare that situations like the one you found yourself in happen, but they can happen. However, we wanted to correct the record here because your review oversimplifies the situation and, frankly, completely ignores the fact that we worked with you and the seller to come to a quick resolution - a resolution that included you receiving a refund and us paying for a dress to be cleaned that was returned to the seller with stains.

There was ambiguity surrounding these circumstances which is why we refunded you. We validated the dress' condition before it was shipped and then again when it was returned, and the photos upon return showed stains and a snag on the dress. However, because the photos prior to return shipping were not 100% accurate, we erred on the side of caution and refunded you.

Calling us these derogatory names is interesting given that we were communicative with you every step of the way (providing photos of the stain, snag, and the sellers' multiple attempts to wash them out), and ultimately decided to refund you despite the damaged dress and the costs we incurred to rectify the situation.

We've changed our processes surrounding photos to ensure that this situation doesn't happen again. Eliminating ambiguity and providing certainty for all parties involved is important to us, and we learned a lot from this experience with you.

Thank you for your review, even if it is overtly negative, as it gives us an opportunity to share with others how we handle difficult situations.

My experience was initially pretty good. But I ran into issues with an accidental cancellation of my order, having to place the order again, and having my credit card charged twice. I finally got the dress, which was beautiful, but not for me. I decided to return it since the website said returns only cost $25 restocking fee. Once I returned the dress they informed me I wouldn't be refunded an additional $50 for shipping. So I was out $75 instead of $25 like I originally thought. I scoured their website for proof of the shipping charges and have not found it. I disputed it with the company and they said that it was always their policy. So beware if you are planning to try on a dress and send it back it will cost you $75 to do so. It wouldn't have been a huge deal had their website not been so misleading.

I'm sure if you were to keep the dress it would be a different story because the dress was pretty and reasonably priced.

I regret listing my dress here for sale, they are very disorganized and insensitive.
It's not worth it, I had a friend tell me she had a bad experience buying a dress from them but I thought it might be different on the lessers end but I guess not.

After having a seamstress destroy my dress just 3 months before my wedding, I tried local bridal shops who couldn't guarantee the arrival of a replacement, even with rush shipping. With dwindling options, I found a dress on NearlyNewlywed.com and knowing I had such a limited amount of time, I ordered immediately. I felt confident ordering from NearlyNewlywed because they have a 2-3 week shipping time frame, free returns, and sellers must ship the dress to them for authentication before the dress is sent to the buyer. After waiting for 3 weeks with no communication or tracking information, I emailed asking for an update since buyers can not communicate directly with sellers at any time. At this time I found out the dress had never been shipped by the seller and in the websites response, I received "I am sorry she did not answer... Usually they do not put us in this situation". This website shifted all blame to the seller, failed notify me that the dress did not ship, and delivery was going to be delayed. Now, with 60 days until my wedding I'm left scrambling. Had this dress arrived on time, I would have had time for alterations. Due to the lack of communication and professionalism, I do not recommend NearlyNewlywed.

If you are selling your dress - they really don't care about you and please read this before deciding to do so.
They just need to sell your dress as cheap as possible, leaving you with literally nothing.
I had the worst experience selling my dress with this company. I was staying in contact with Patti. Her emails looked like she is always in a rush and all she wanted to is for me to ship my dress to them asap. On the website it says: free shipping. However, not for people who sell the dress. You are going to be responsible for sending the dress (up to $150 in shipping cost). With that said, you also going to get ONLY 60% of the price of your dress. So they are making so much money only by stealing from brides who are selling the dresses.
It was such a heartbreaking experience since I didn't know the policy (60%/40%). I literally had a breakdown and begged Patti to return my dress because I would never sell it for 20% of the price I paid.
But Patti didn't care. She sent me her short email "sorry, no"
No empathy, nothing.

With that said, think twice before selling your dress there.

I had an absolute dream dress, an absolute treasure. I paid a lot of money for it plus customization and alterations on top of the price. It was a huge decision to sell it and I am absolutely crushed and heartbroken that I sold it with this company for literally nothing. I wish I can take it all back.

I wanted to ask the owner/seller of the dress I liked some questions about the sizing. This website operates in the way that everything you ask goes through their CS before they send the questions on to the seller. When I asked after a few days what had become of the answers, the CS replied "no as I told you I would only contact you if there had been a reply from seller". I feel that this is quite rude, as brides we are stressed enough and there was zero reassurance or kindness from this business. They want to make money and take a massive cut off sellers but aren't willing to deal with the buyers in the proper way. Until today months later I have not received any follow up from the CS with any explanation on why the seller did not answer. Also, if sellers fail to answer questions their listings should be removed to prevent excited buyers from being disappointed. I will never recommend this website to any buyer or seller. Sellers, don't sell your dresses here as your potential buyers will be so turned off by the customer service they won't even reach you.

The measurements of a dress I purchased were incorrect, yet the customer service person Patti told me they still wouldn't offer me any sort of courtesy refund. Further, the site is super misleading - to buy and return a dress costs $75. I read the terms and conditions a few times before buying and still did not catch this detail because they are super unclear about this. DO NOT USE THIS SITE. TERRIBLE AND FRUSTRATING EXPERIENCE!

I was super excited to find a company that allows returns on used wedding dresses. I emailed the company asking them about expedited shipping as I was leaving the country and needed a dress ASAP. They quoted me $50-$80 for overnight shipping. Then another email saying maybe around $100. The third and final email said $199! I checked on the UPS website (since they only use them) there was nothing for that price. I emailed them telling them that that it was way higher than I was quoted and UPS website has much cheaper prices. Their reply was 'that's how much we charge'. When I complained they basically said take it or leave it! I don't understand how they couldn't give me that quote from the start. They wanted me to pay $25 regular shipping plus $199 expedited shipping and when I objected they said it was company policy. Anyways, I ended up going with the regular shipping but before they shipped it I got an email with a few pictures of the damage to the dress. A few tears here and there that the seller never even mentioned! I finally got the dress today with missing jewels on the belt, torn fabric on buttons and stains on the corset and skirt. I don't know how they even missed it when they performed their 'full and thorough assessment'. I send them an email with everything but they completely brushed me off! No apology, nothing. I knew it was a used dress from the start but if I'm going to pay $1700 then I deserve a well maintained dress! I'm going to send the dress back and just lose the $50 on shipping.
