The last few support calls to NS were much better than a few years ago, yet there still is a wide variance in the knowledge & customer service quality from one rep to the next. Hang up and call back if your rep seems to be leading you down a wrong path.
There are not enough characters in this field to express how I feel about this company. 1 start is too much for them. Run away, believe me, you'll regret it if you do business with them sooner or later.

Hang up and call back if the Tech Support Rep seems to be leading you down a wrong path. There's wide difference in knowledge & customer service orientation between different reps.
Been with them for over 10 years. NEVER AGAIN. After I renewed my hosting for 5 years things went down hill. Both my sites started to slow down. They put me on an over crowded sever. They said a 20 second delay before the page loads is acceptable. What customer is going to wait 20 seconds for a page to load? I want a refund or at least a prorated one. Network solutions response, NOPE, we can give you a coupon for future purchases. REALLY. I migrated my site somewhere else, and guess what, page loads in under 3 seconds.
They also charged me for a Windows Hosting site that i never signed up for. 1200 bucks. For something I never signed up for. I did not catch it in the 30 day window so guess what they said, NO REFUND.
I WILL NEVER do business with Network Solutions again. They just lost a long time customer of these shady business practices.

DO NOT USE THEM EVER

Jay (Justin) employed his in-depth expertise in web design and editing, as well as his patient and cheerful customer service manner, to brighten up our company website. Answering my questions, he provided better ideas than what I had intended. He guided me through handling website photos and how I might edit them to achieve a standard look. He described how the coloring would work, and what the best practice was for color selection. He pointed out how the features and blocks work, and how to successfully edit and delete those. He led me to the SEO and Company information pages to ensure we had the proper info in them for success. His support was an exceptional customer service experience. Awarded 11 out of 10 points! My compliments, Sir!

My company has been a customer for a few years. Network Solutions has consistently provided excellent and prompt work. I am very impressed with their ability to customize and design changes with a minimum amount of instruction.
Network Solutions did a great job rewriting parts of my website for SEO purposes. Zabrina (I'm not certain how she spells her name) did the work and explained to me how to track the results. She provided friendly, excellent service.

I recently changed my website hosting and management to Network Solutions (web.com). They offer timely, clearly explained and friendly service. They helped me to develop and secure my new website in a couple of weeks and sold me the best (not excessive) services for my needs.
Tip for consumers:
Considering their SEO services too.

I have been with network solutions for about 6 years. Our site has been down numerous times. One time for over a week! I have even spoken to people who have worked there and they say it's a terrible company to work for. One again, our site is down today so I spoke to hosting and they said they needed to transfer me to the e-commerce team and the e-commerce team is closed! It's nice to know there is no one there if your site goes down over the weekend.
Tip for consumers:
Stay away from network solutions

They just tried to extort me for $1250. They wouldn't let me renew the domains and now require "re-registration" period. Google "network solutions scam" and you'll see many stories. Its a horrible company and clearly a scam, stay away.
Do not use network solutions, they will steal your money without your consent! This is the worst service I have ever used and the customer service is absolutely awful. They STOLE money from me and I will be involving my bank and the police of this fraudulent behaviour! I was charged a service after cancelling. I tried to contact online support and the person on the chat left both times without helping. I tried calling customer service, I had to wait 30 minutes and was disconnected twice. When I finally got through to someone the third time after waiting 30 minutes again, I then had to be directed to someone else who said someone made a mistake and did not cancel the services. They said they could not refund me (this was a day after my account was charged). They stole my money, did not refund me and took up over two hours of my work day. I am extremely upset, frustrated and angry with this company. I pray this company gets shut down so no one else has to have money taken from them!

Do not use this service!

Networksolutions is so poor. About zero customer support but extraordinary high fees. Totally ridicilous. They charge about 3 - 5 times what other regsitrars take while their support is basically none existent. They are only good in making up funny fees and keeping you at long by not responding to inquiries. Avoid by any means
The first time I used Network Solutions was in the 1990s and it had great customer service. But it was bought out and since that time it tries to milk people for more and more money. On top of that, the customer service is nonexistent: for the last few months our mail server has not worked and customer service just ignores the issue. It seems they spent all their money on sales and little on updating their system

I went with this company for my new small business, and it has been an absolute nightmare using them. I paid for the 10-year package and from day one had issues. I called to resolve the issues and the customer service could not help. I continued to call back and couldn't get through to any one after waiting hours on the phone. I finally reached someone, and they said I can't get a refund because it was beyond the 3-day refund policy. I was not given any statement or paperwork that proved this was in the policy. This company completely stole my money did not produce the services it promised it was a complete rip off.

Do Not Use Complete Scam

I couldn't reset my password and kept getting 'service not available' messages. So, I reached out through the chat function and got a friendly Indian guy. He only had a very narrow script to follow, and after trying the same thing 5 different ways, he redirected me to the online portal to open up a ticket with Tier 2. The only problem was that I needed to have a working login ---which was way I opened the ticket in the first place.
So - I started all over with phone support. Spent another hour on the phone, tried the same 5 things over and over. The FINALLY created an escalation ticket (S-*******) and told me that someone would contact me 'SOON'
A week later, I called back in and the ticket was marked 'fixed' - with no notification to me. However, when I tried to access my account, it still didn't work. So, I ended back in Tier 1 support trying the same 5 things.
ARGH! Switching away ASAP
I have had a lot of trouble in the past with all the components of maintaining a web site. ProConsulting offered me a package deal of setting up a trimmed-down site that promotes primarily a single book, with links to the author, the book description and ways to buy the book. The team got the site up in the promised time frame of less than a month, and followed up all my instructions and revisions.
Tip for consumers:
I wish I had known earlier how simple and effective this service this is. I would have saved a lot of trouble spending money in other ways.

I used an all-inclusive web site. They charged less than $400 and delivered within a month. It has a lot of bells and whistles but I didn't have to know about them all. It was seamless. I was promoting a book about World War 2 in the Netherlands, "The Winged Watchman." The website does the job, sending those who click on it to sites where they can buy the book or sign up for updated information. The service is provided by ProConsulting, and it was done efficiently with one person as the contact. My contact was with Gwen.
Unacceptable. And its outside of the reach of the police or a lawyer as its outside of the country. Try looking for a google+ page of them, or a Facebook page for reviews. There is none. Should say a lot.
Hey Jared - i'm sorry you've had a poor experience with our products, is there something specific we can address?^MB
We have registered domains and used hosting from Network Solutions for decades. But the last couple years (since merging with web.com it seems) they have been awful. Problems take weeks to fix, you can't speak to anyone, just text chat from their website, no level two support or access to admins/supervisors. Our most recent experience is in trying to get a contact email changed. This was a simple request that they said would take 24 hours. I have now checked every day, going on two weeks, and still nothing. Literally cannot open our business until this is fixed. Customer services reps (who are always lovely, bet they hate their jobs!) always say they have escalated the case, prioritized the case, ad nauseum, but we never hear anything from anyone. Once we get this fixed, we plan to move all our domains away from Network Solutions. Just can't continue working with the shoddy level of service and dishonesty.
Tip for consumers:
DON'T use Network Solutions if you value your website, your time, your money, or your reputation, they will waste them all.
Network Solitons is undoubtedly the most egregiously unethical and deplorable company in existence. Their audacious tactics involve surreptitiously turning on auto-renewal for their services, entangling unsuspecting customers in a never-ending cycle of exorbitant charges without their consent. With blatant disregard for basic principles of consumer rights and transparency, Network Solitons displays a contemptible lack of integrity by preying upon their own clients. Moreover, the quality of their service plummets to unimaginable depths, leaving customers stranded with subpar resources and abysmal support. The sheer audacity and malevolence displayed by this maleficent enterprise is unparalleled, cementing them as the epitome of corporate cruelty and deceit. Unscrupulous practices such as these tarnish the already dubious reputation of the tech industry, reaffirming Network Solitons' status as an abominable entity deserving universal condemnation.

Network Solutions e-commerce store hard to manage - I'm not a programmer, but for a medical business I've set up I've been using Network Solutions' e-commerce package. It's not hard to use, but the interface is often frustrating (click on a link and lose all the data you just entered), and I've found it difficult to customize the product pages and much of the web store. However, I was able to integrate the Network Solutions shopping cart with Google Checkout and Google Analytics, which I found useful.
Overall, Network Solutions is not hard to use, but if you want a flexible e-commerce solution I would stay away from it (although I don't have a better recommendation right now).
Network Solutions is just one of a bunch of websites offering a speedy "who is" search to find out who is behind that domain name that you suspect might be a little dodgy.
Go to http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/index.jsp then copy in the domain name you are checking out. For me, as a quick check it is interesting to find out
A) how secretive the outfit is being – is the name registered to a bricks and mortar visible company?
B) When was it set up and how long has it been operating?
C) Who is the registrar? – In case you want to complain about an illegal operation.
Go to the registry data, then you find the address of the registrar 'who is' server. (e.g. For sitejabber.com you need to go to http://who.godaddy.com/whoischeck.aspx)
Go to that, run another search and you should get contact addresses / administrator details etc.
More experienced / better qualified internet sleuths might be able to add their guidance on how to drill down through the available information and what warnings to look for. All help gratefully received!
Always excellent follow up and response by the great tech team at Network Solutions.
