“Website Achieves Brilliance!”

William D.
11/2/22

Jay (Justin) employed his in-depth expertise in web design and editing, as well as his patient and cheerful customer service manner, to brighten up our company website. Answering my questions, he provided better ideas than what I had intended. He guided me through handling website photos and how I might edit them to achieve a standard look. He described how the coloring would work, and what the best practice was for color selection. He pointed out how the features and blocks work, and how to successfully edit and delete those. He led me to the SEO and Company information pages to ensure we had the proper info in them for success. His support was an exceptional customer service experience. Awarded 11 out of 10 points! My compliments, Sir!

“Worst company I have ever dealt with”

Jeff G.

There are not enough characters in this field to express how I feel about this company. 1 start is too much for them. Run away, believe me, you'll regret it if you do business with them sooner or later.

Their business model is tricking people into signing up for things they don't want. They send tons of emails trying to confuse customers. Use a different company!

After being a customer for 24 years, I tried to transfer a domain name to another perosn. The web site advice USELESS, and the CHAT assistance marginally better.
These guys do NOT deserve your business and I will NEVER EVER USE THEM AGAIN!

They take money from your account after the domain has been inactive for months. Won't refund you, make you call their hotline phone number to delete your account AND THE NUMBER DOES NOT WORK. REFUSE TO GIVE REFUND OR DELETE ACCOUNT. TERRIBLE. AVOID. OVERPRICED, MOST COMPETITORS ARE BETTER. THEY ARE SO SKETCHY THE BUSINESS NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED.

I was with them for over 20 years but when Web.com bought them all the agreements they made were not honored. They flat out LIE. After over a year of lies I moved all my domains, however, to this date, over 15 days they have not completed the move, causing me and my businesses financial damage. I was told prior by associates that they would find a way to make any change miserable and disruptive. "They will make it long, claim mistakes, and you will have to file legal docs against them to get the move completed." To this point that statement appears to be true. DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THEM OR WEB.COM. If you are looking for HONESTY & INTEGRITY, buy a dictionary.

Since my first domain registration decades ago, I have always registered my domains with Network Solutions, and i continued to use them exclusively... until now

I have been trying to call them and get a human being on the phone for months.

All I wanted was an English explanation of what the recurring charges... for my handful of domains... were for.

I suspected i was paying for options i really did not need, and the Tecno gibberish they use to explain the line item description of charges tells me nothing. Of late, i was incurring charges of around $60 a month.

All I wanted was to talk to someone for a couple minutes so they could tell me what this and that was for and I could hen make a decision about whether or not to keep those options, these unknowns typically running five, six, seven dollars a month

After calling them randomly for the past 2 months and being put into voice mail on hold hell I have given up.

Because I cannot get someone on the phone, and an a direct chat request to have someone CALL ME went unanswered... I am transferring what I have to another registrar.

So simple to fix on their end

Noticing that the company provides WordPress services, I called to purchase technical support for my WordPress website. As Network Solutions and its parent, Web.com provide hosting services for websites, I made it clear I was using another hosting company and was told that wasnt an issue. Rather than getting what I called about, I was led on a glossy internet marketing odyssey. It started with SEO, Search Engine Optimization, theoretically used to improve site rankings. Everyone wants their site to rank high in searches. I was told I would first be transferred to an SEO specialist followed by a WordPress technician who would solve my technical issues.

Cutting to the chase, this was sort of a Yellow Brick Road replete with brainless people aimlessly wandering around. The SEO was not Network Solutions SEO solution, but placing you on Facebook. Obviously anyone can deal directly with Facebook for those services. When I explained that I was looking for their personalized service, I was told that was a different SEO. This went on for about 45 minutes.

Ultimately I was transferred to their WordPress guru who explained they couldnt provide the service as I was already hosted by someone else and would have to sign a new hosting contract with them. Had all of this been explained up front I would have saved over an hour of wasted time and bait and switch tactics. As it turns out, this company has a history of serious legal problems for misleading customers in which the FTC presided over a settlement. A leopard never changes its spots.

Hey Ginny,

I'm very sorry you had a frustrating experience, and would like to investigate further in an attempt to improve. Would you mind emailing me directly (mbenson@web.com) so that I can look into what went wrong?^MB

This company is despicable. They allowed my domain name americanroofremodel.com to be released and purchased by a domain shark who is trying to charge my small company thousands of Dollars to get back. This company had the nerve to say they didn't have a revised card on file to renew our domain….however they billed me for other services all along on our credit card, the email from them stating our domain was going to expire that had my personal name, and our web.com username on it was a phishing email, however it was not as all the links brought you to their actual web address. I replied back to this email stating our card is in file and to please bill it so our domain is renewed, but they said it was a phishing email, I am an internet savvy person, it was not. In addition this was the only email received about our expiring domain and they said it was fake. So if it were fake that means we received no email, no phone call, no warning whatsoever about our domain, and all emails tied too it literally given away, and all they could say was "it was our fault". Remember they were billing us for other services all along on our card that never expired. Right now my small company is in disarray all because this horrible excuse for a company either got hacked, or accidentally gave our domain away. Do yourself a favor and avoid web.com, domain.com, or network solutions as they are all the same at all costs. Please please do not go through what our company has to go through I beg you.

Network Solutions is just one of a bunch of websites offering a speedy "who is" search to find out who is behind that domain name that you suspect might be a little dodgy.

Go to http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/index.jsp then copy in the domain name you are checking out. For me, as a quick check it is interesting to find out
A) how secretive the outfit is being – is the name registered to a bricks and mortar visible company?
B) When was it set up and how long has it been operating?
C) Who is the registrar? – In case you want to complain about an illegal operation.

Go to the registry data, then you find the address of the registrar 'who is' server. (e.g. For sitejabber.com you need to go to http://who.godaddy.com/whoischeck.aspx)

Go to that, run another search and you should get contact addresses / administrator details etc.

More experienced / better qualified internet sleuths might be able to add their guidance on how to drill down through the available information and what warnings to look for. All help gratefully received!

I have had an account with them for years and have had nothing but trouble with their "technical support staff" - They spam your email, but cannot understand the basics of SMTP transfers. Recently, it took me 2 HOURS to get the person to understand that I needed help with tracing an email that I sent THROUGH their service that I was paying for (have "professional email"). They claimed that they could not provide me with ANY tracing information, including the hand-off date/time/IP of recipients system - claimed it was "secret"?! You know, every "Received" line in every Internet email. The're claiming, and I have evidence and proof, that SMTP transfers are secret and they cannot release any information related. One can only conclude that they're dropping emails from their customers and refusing to fess up. Early on, I had one of their "expert managers" tell me that an email address of "*******@subdomain.domain.com" was not ligitement. I guess every government email address is wrong. Also note that 3 out of my 4 calls to "technical support" where hangups. The last one I hung up after on hold for 40 minutes. When I called their new sales staff, they claimed that it was "normal" to be on hold that long. I should have known that once they got bought out, and the massive email changes they've gone through, they would go down the road of AOL. This is NOT a good nor professional hosting provider.

They steal because they know no government agency will hold them accountable. Bait & switch. Beware fraud.

Tip for consumers:
Do not use this site. They advertise domain names for as little as 9.99 but that is not true. Everything defaults to automatic billing, and once NetworkSolutions.Com gets your debit card info they hyperinflate with excess charges, and will bill you of things you did not order. BEWARE. Do not give these people your credit card info. Check their review and the Better Business Bureaus and you won't make the mistake of getting ripped off by this organization.

Now I have to say I have been a customer of Network Solutions for 2 Decades, (Now Web.com), last week I tried to Migrate a Wordpress site, (From another host) Normally this is a fairly "Straight-forward" move. On the old site Run a Backup from the cPanel. Then Run a restore and VIOLA! However with this now Bloated and unresponsive web host its nearly IMPOSSIBLE> For starters the tech support (Farmed out foreign Techs) are hard to understand, but WORST OFF they completely do NOT understand the issue let alone address it. These Web.Com staff members are only capable of reading off a card. And heavens forbid they loose their place? You need to suffer from step 1 all over again. MY REVIEW: Avoid this company at ALL cost. I am now in the process of moving my 22 Domains to another platform. I'm sure they will come back with some BS excuse, but its been a long time coming. I should have DUMPED THEM years ago. A lot of hype for the Money. NO VALUE when it counts! GOODBYE POOR HOSTING SERVICE. You lost me and anyone I can tell Starting here.

Tip for consumers:
STAY CLEAR these folks are the WORST

Red Flag: Don't sign up for any services when you cannot turn off auto-renewal.

My non-profit client had used Network Solutions (NS) for web and email hosting a small website for years. We were asked to review. NS added on a boat load of useless services that was costing our client of $200 a month in charges for a single email account and a 5-page static website hosting. We moved the hosting and domain to a new provider for under $30 a month, and turned off all NS services ofver live chat. The agent said "I have disabled all the auto renewals from my end." A month later new charges appeared on our client's account for SSL services (with no web hosting) and Contant Contact services (with no email hosting). I asked for a refund. They refused.

I called the Customer Service number and after 30 minutes of being on hold, was disconnected and sent to a survey. I called back and talked to a new agent, and I threatened to file complaints with the BBB and the California State Attorney General if the unautorized charges were not refunded, and then was placed on hold for another 5 minutes, after which the agent said their supervisor agreed to refund the last 2 charges. Hopefully this is the end of the NS nightware.

Tip for consumers:
There are lots of much more reasonable and reliable hosting providers that do not lock you in as tight as Network Solutions.
