Slick site with lots of great info. Catering to photographers the images are high resolution and so downloading pages is slow. If you order from this site, be careful how you enter your billing and shipping addresses. If they are different you will be charged an extra $5 for signature on delivery. This happened to me when I made a typo when ordering a 90 cent rubber part. The extra $5 was an unpleasant surprise. I did not confirm the order and I complained. They called me and graciously explained what happened, This is more than most sites would do.
The website has useful information but stay away from ordering from this site. When an order is placed you receive no confirmation message until about a week later to say the order has shipped. That is the first time you have a tracking number or order number to be able to check on the order. When my shipment was received it was the wrong item (a $50 battery charger instead of a $335 digital camera). It took two calls to customer service to get a promised e-mail sent with instructions and then the link provided on the e-mail did not work. I'm still waiting to resolve the issue. Wish me luck.

The repairs and customer service department is the worst. First of all after two weeks they never sent me an estimate update or confirmation that they received my camera body. I had to call up the Melville repair center just to find that they had it. Secondly, This will be the third time I was refused warranty service on a camera body that had a defect or part break before the warranty expired due to "impact damage". There were no drops bangs or anything of that nature to cause this and when that reasoning fell through the window I was told it was improper camera use. I am a professional photographer with more than ten years experience and a regional manager in Nikon suggested I didn't know how to attach a camera lens which might have caused the damage. If you're new to Nikon as a company stay away from them, they make a killing off of these repairs. If you google impact damage, warranty and nikon together you can see the many cases where this has occurred.

Well here we are mid-July and still nothing from Nikon on fixing my new camera. I wrote the first review back in April after over a month of trying to get some help from them. The last the time camera worked was mid-February and I got the darn thing mid-December. I will buy nothing else from this company.
I received a Nikon D7500 for my birthday this past December. I've used it several times, yes there was a bit of a learning curve, but there were no mechanical problems that I noticed when I received it. Then I took it out this past Sunday, April 5,2020, and there it was. When I tried to take a picture, I got a double click and up popped the Err.
After looking up everything I could on the internet regarding this and finding out that unless you've somehow managed to get oil and dirt inside the camera and or on the connecters of the lens then there is a problem with the camera. The only option is to return the camera for service.
Here's the thing, Nikon isn't taking in any of their products for repairs at this time. I get it. The whole virus thing is a serious concern but there are certain things that makes this argument self-serving to my way of thinking. The virus is supposed to be only active for three days on metal and plastic and on cardboard for one day. I'm also certain that there are ways, I know people who are using them, to keep things from coming into contact with employees for another three to four days once it arrives on site.
I know this sounds like it is only a matter of someone who wants their camera fixed as soon as possible, and yes, I admit that I do, but they have a lot of people not working at this time. This means that there are people that might be able to be working but Nikon is using the excuse, and yes, I use the word excuse, to keep from having to pay for their support personnel. Here's the thing, try to order a camera from them. They won't hesitate a moment to send you one regardless of what the person or persons who handles the shipment may or may not have.
What really made me mad was that when I went to looking this up, the err popping up, it's not uncommon on new cameras from Nikon. Actually, it is usually a result of something that happens during manufacturing. I wonder how much they charge for this problem if they do accept the return and that doesn't include the shipping and handling.
I have made a point of being extremely careful with this camera. Not only is it kept in the case it came with, but I also bought a backpack to keep my equipment in, including the camera in the other case.
Oh, if you do have a problem with your Nikon camera, good luck in getting in contact with anyone by any means. It took me an entire day to finally get in touch with someone and that was only because I went through a back door. The online chat is even a problem. Now you tell me, does this sound like they are concerned about their employees or are they using this as a way to avoid their responsibilities to the people who have purchased their products?
I ordered a flash during their President's Day sale through their website. The price was quoted at $119, yet I was charged $169. They admit it was their pricing error, but refused to honor price. Very disappointing and very poor customer service. If this is they way they treat loyal customers, I will be moving to Canon. Adios Nikon.
I got a "you're in default" letter from Bread Pay, regarding a loan used to buy $1100 worth of Nikon stuff. I have the loan number, and the order was placed in my name. So I can easily prove who I am and that I got the bill for the order. But would Nikon tell me where the order was shipped, the phone number used, what was ordered, or anything useful at all? They would not.
My wife is an avid Nikon camera enthusiast. I'm not a Nikon hater, but I do not agree at all with protecting thieves!
Tip for consumers:
Don't expect help from Nikon if your identity is stolen and used to buy their junk.

Large web site from Nikon, maker of top class professional and amateur cameras.
The website is well laid out, and while they are obviously keen to sell you more Nikon photographic kit or sign you up to one of their photography courses, there is a lot of free information available. Their photography tips section is good:
http://www.nikonusa.com/Learn-And-Explore/Photography-Tips/index.page
And

If you are interested in improving your photography, it's well worth a look.
Four Stars from me. And no, you don't need a Nikon camera to benefit from the site!

Ordered a camera dual lens kit with external flash, filters and some other items. Six items overall. Received a package yesterday without the camera kit. Other five items match the packaging list, but instead of the camera kit there was a battery pack in the box. AA rechargeable battery pack instead of a camera kit worth $1000!
All I've got from their support so far is that they are "investigating the issue".
UPDATE. In about two weeks later managed to get money back. Took me 4-5 calls to their support. Ordered camera kit on Amazon - received a package in 2 days.
Will give Nikonusa.com 2 stars now instead of 1 on the initial review.
Ordered lans at nikonusa.com with holiday rebate. They accepted my order and canceled the next day, because "things did not work out". When I checked they had no more stock. This means even with an issued and paid order, they feel they are not bound to the purchasing agreement made by providing the payment. In one word: Lousy"
I called to get some quick help with the new D850 I purchased. I was away from my desk computer and needed help figuring out why my camera's Continuous AF wasn't working. I admitted right off the bat that the camera was new to me and that I was probably just using it incorrectly.
To my surprise
-- the first person I called told me that AF-C was dropped from the D850.
-- So I called again. The second person insisted that Continuous AF simply meant the camera kept shooting, but it "did not have anything to do with the camera focusing." I pointed out that I was talking about "Continuous AutoFocus." She got super gruff and told me that she can't help me if all I want to do is argue.
I found the answer when I got back home on my computer.
I am at an utter loss to explain how the tech support at Nikon can be so utterly ignorant of the most basic camera stuff.

Nikon USA, failed to inform me that the camera i ordered is on backorder There is nothing upon checkout to indicate that I have to wait, Matter of fact it said deliver within 3-5 days and i even paid for the 2 day shipping.
I contacted Nikon customer service by phone and online chat which is just big waste of time, rude and unhelpful. They still can't tell me when it will be available and i cant even cancel the order even thought they haven't ship it.
So if you order from Nikonuse.com there is chance that it will take a long time for your order to arrived and they will not inform you or help you in anyway.
Cannot purchase online on NIKON's website. They told me on the phone that my card is blocked. Called my bank and got confirmation that there's nothing wrong with my card or my accts. Asked NIKON service to put them on a tri-call but did not accept. They said there is no way to talk to somebody in NIKON to resolve this. The operator Jessica W. Said she was going to escalate but she immediately sent an email, closing the ticket asking me to ask the bank to lift the block. I called the bank again and they confirmed that they are not blocking the trxs. NIKON's chat is off. Tried to call their HQ in NY and the auto message sends you back to the same number. It's a mess.
Tip for consumers:
Do not use it and do not buy their products. many more options in the market anymore.

Nikon makes some wonderful binoculars, but they have terrible support. There is no reason they should not have some common parts for their discontinued binoculars, like the Nikon SE 8x32 porro prism. A lot of people still love and use this binocular, and it is a shame that you can't even get replacement eye cups for it which are easily replaced by the user. The newer Nikon HG binoculars do not have the same view as the classic porros like the SE because they don't have the stereoscopic view.
THIEVES!
THIEVES! Avoid purchasing any camera directly from their store website. I decided to get a 30 day free trial of Z30 and when I received and tried it was defective. ( I was charged even thought they said it was a 30 day free trial) LIES!
I reached out to them several times to get a return label and it took 7 days for them to send me a label. They received the package on March 3,2023 and as of today they have not refunded. I have called several times and spoken to different agents and noone knows why I have not been refunded. Stealing my work hard money.
I sent them a rifle scope that carried a full lifetime warranty. I had the original box and receipt. In 2004 I bought a Nikon prostaff 3-9x40 rifle scope that came with a lifetime warranty. I called them because after a week I didn't hear from them. The person told me I was going to get a credit. The next day I got the email so I called them and was told my scope was destroyed.?. I was shocked. They destroyed my personal property without my convent. Their web store has nothing I want or need. Super upset they destr my scope, sentimental value is worth way more than $216.
I spent close to $4,000 on a Nikon D850 which needs a be card I am told. It was sent Nikon over a month ago. After two weeks I was told it is on Parts Hold, whatever that means. If Nikon USA doesn't have the part, who on earth does? In any event, I waited patiently for another week and was told that it is now in the shop. Yes, I am finally getting somewhere. Nothing for another week (now 4 weeks) and I am told that it is on a Parts Hold AGAIN. Does the right hand know what the left hand is doing? Apparently NOT. I switched from Canon to Nikon, and I am seriously considering going back to Canon and biting the bullet. D850 is a great camera but the service of NikonUSA is half a star at best. PATHETIC!
I received a pair of arrow 3000 range finder For a gift and the focus dial ring Broke and I sent him back into nikon and they wanted Wanted a receipt of purchase But on a gift you don't ask for the receipt Then they wanted to charge me full price to replace it It's $269 but there is no way I would pay that they don't stand behind their product I recommendation to you is do not buy from nikon I will be buying Leopold or vortex from now on You can buy a brand new pair for under a $168 of Leopold range finder And they are 100% Kind of disappointed in their quality of products
I pre-ordered a camera with Nikon and after 2 months of waiting they cancelled my order. I received an email simply saying it was cancelled, giving no reason as to why. I had to take the time to call them just to figure out what happened. After a lot of back and forth, several contradicting messages, and far too much of my time wasted I figured out what happened:
When we placed the order we gave them authorization to charge our credit card. When they were ready to ship the order 2 months later they attempted to do so, but so much time had passed that the authorization had expired. To be clear, my credit card was fine, it had plenty left on it's limit to make the purchase, but Nikon's authorization to charge the card had expired. Instead of contacting me to rectify the problem, THEIR problem, they simply cancelled the order, losing my place in a 2 month long line.
After discussing this with their support we were told that they could not give us our place in line back.
This is a $3,000 professional camera but their service is about on par with a shady 3rd party seller. In the end this experience made me change my mind and I decided to not purchase the camera.
Tip for consumers:
Order from another authorized Nikon retailer like BH, Adorama, etc.

They have the worst customer service. I purchased a lens from them online and within 18 minutes tried to cancel the order after I found out my husband had purchased the same lens for me as a gift. The first representative put me on hold for over 20 minutes and then said I had missed the 30 minute deadline for returning. He then told me he would "escalate" the situation and would send me an email within 24 hours. No Email. I then called 2 days later, that representative said she would "escalate" the situation and send me an email. She did send the email but nothing was done. The third representative said she would "escalate" the situation and make sure they sent me a return label. She did send me an email and a link to print the return label. But guess what? The link did not work. The fourth representative told me they had a problem and the link never worked? Why did they send it in the first place if they knew it didn't work? She claimed she would send me the return label by email. Still waiting. I'm not sure if they are doing this on purpose so they don't have to take back the lens or if they are really incompetent. Either way, I don't want to own Nikon anymore. Rotten customer service.
Safe official canon website. I saw many great canera and great review on this nikon web site. They also sell Nikon camera on Amazon, B&Hphotovideo and LVphotovideo.
I ordered a point and shoot camera. The image quality is reasonable.
I originally planned to buy a Canon camera but saw a nice deal on this.
