After several years of questioning why the coverage A (dwelling) on my homeowner insurance policy kept increasing, my wife contacted the AAA Arizona Headquarters office to discover that we were grossly over-insured. Coverage A (dwelling) should have been $236,000. Insurance agent Dalton Briggs had our coverage A set at $353,000 up from $342,000 the year before. Coverage has increased by $11,000 every year for the past 7 years. Last years (2016) premium was $1,517; our current renewal has a premium due amount of $1,969; per my wife's discussion with the Arizona office it should have been $1,033 for 2016. We have tried to explain repeatedly in years past that our homes value to rebuild is nowhere near the amount shown in the coverage A, but we were told year after year that is was an inflation adjustment by AAA.
