I booked a flight with Opodo to India (travelling with Emirates) and travelled on the 26/08/2019. Booking everything went fine until I got to the airport and it transpired that Opodo had provided incorrect information about luggage weights for Emirates. I was 3kg over the allocated weight for cabin luggage and so they charged me an extortionate fee. Emirates asked me to provide evidence that I had been informed of the wrong details. When I did they then promptly ignored it and said I needed to take it up with the agent Opodo. I did via Opodo's complaint system and more than a month later have yet to be contacted in any way by Opodo. This is extremely bad customer service by Opodo, both before and after travel. I won't be booking through them again and advise others to avoid them as well.

The day I wrote a review on a public review site Opodo suddenly contacted me. Denied all knowledge of my complaint that had been made via the system they direct you too. Asked me to furnish all the details again, along with evidence on their site of the false information that I had been provided with. I compiled by pointing out two webpages on their site that had false information and then (same story as Emirates) they ignored the evidence and told me that I had looked at the wrong webpage on their site - apparently one correct webpage cancels out two webpages with completely incorrect information.

OPODO travel agency left part of my daughters double barrell surname out and when we went to check in at airport they wouldn't let us as names on ticket don't match the visa and passport. Opodo said VIRGIN AIRLINES wouldn't answer phone to change name and we missed flight. Virgin put us down as 'no show' even though we were at desk and there is a camera. My elderly mother has gone alone and my 12 year old daughter and I can't fly. The flights cost e3908. 44 Im a single mother and I have saved forever for this trip. Someone please help... I'm gutted and I want a part refund but they won't help at all. I've spent 7 hours ringing between the companies. Etihad was operating the flight for virgin Airlines. Dublin-Melbourne and they said had we booked directly with them they could have changed her name at desk for a fee. Virgin airlines couldn't help and basically said... lesson learned.
I see the guardian wrote an article on Opodo March 23 and customers had similar problem with names etc.and OPODO had computer glitches...

Opodo is a scam
Had a very bad experience. I won't recommend Opodo to anyone. I booked my flight from Newcastle to USA and got to airport 2hours before my departure. I was told at the airport that I must have a Schengen visa before I could connect to USA via Paris. This is awful because I booked through agent so there won't be a fault, was not told.
I ranged Opodo 1hour before departure to let them know but the lady is so heartless telling me they can't do anything to it. I asked her to cancel my booking and refund me my tax if others couldn't be refunded but while waiting for my refund, she didn't cancel the booking and I was not allowed to go with the flight. Opodo should refund me, hearing many unpleasant things about them just today alone. I will use my lawyer if am not refunded immediately because if you go through the phone conversation recorded you will realise I cancelled before departure period.
Waiting for my refund or I will fight fot my right as this is I'll-treatment. Affected physically, psychologically and financially.Its do horrible. Opodo is a scam company

Although Opodo does everything according to law, you nust notice the following:
1.)They take no responsibility in case of a dely or cencellation of your flight!
Means-you would'nt even be noticed, both by the airline neither by opodo about the change.
2.)They use classic misdirection methods!
As I orderd my flight, i've noticed that "surprisingly" none of the cheap options were available. You might ask-"why would they show this flights?". As I said, this is a classic misdirection method; once you're inside their site, you're more likely to invite one of the more expensive options. But don't worry - it's legal according to their terms and conditions
3.)They have a poor synchronization!
All I wanted was to reserve a specific seat on my flight. Sounds easy right?!
So I tried to do so in their site. The site said to call them (International phone call) in order to reserve those seats, and so I did. Their voice mail said that this matter is handled by their site. Confused? So was I...

Make a long story short-DON'T USE OPODO!

We've chosen this trip for our 10th anniversary. Wecouldn't check in with easyJet but we did it with Ryanair.We called Opodo and explain the situation and they assured us everything is OK and to go the next day to the airport to do the check in there.We tried to get hold of easyJet via phone but after 50min of holding we gave up, on Facebook we wrote on Thursday and got an answer on Friday when was too late. We arrived at the airport on Friday morning when we find out that our reservations weren't available, that easyJet didn't accept our payment. Nobody warned us through an email or phone call and the two hours spent with the guy from Opodo were for nothing (he did assured us everything is in order). We've lost money on our car park at Luton, money on the bus transfer, on the new car park booking at Stanstead and on the new flight to Lisbon from Stanstead with Ryanair. EasyJet didn't refund the money for our flight, but I didn't gave up yet. This was the worst experience in our life with Opodo and easyJet and we intend to share our experience with everyone because nobody cared about us. Both Opodo and easyJet lack common sense and customer service. None offered any compensation nor didn't apologies for being wrong.
Opodo uses the same excuse"we're just an intermediary agency". Well Opodo as long as you offer services to public you can be held responsible for your lack of incompetence.

Absolutely horrible horrible scam company. Been waiting a year and a half for a refund that probably will never come.
They lied to me and scammed me out of my flight in the first place.
Told me I could reschedule it at any time and to call back and they "cancelled" my ticket and not to worry.

Then when I called to rebook they said I never called in the first place and I no showed for my flight.
Next. Lufthansa the airline allowed all flights to be re booked or refunded due to Corona.
2 months I called everyday back and forth to Opodo and Lufthansa. Opodo made no attempt to contact Lufthansa to rebook me.

Finally I got fed up and bought a new ticket with klm to get home to Canada from Norway.

For the next year and a half I've fought to get my refund back. Lufthansa confirmed Opodo has the funds. Opodo string me along for many months. Then out of no where charged their story to my refund have being already sent to my account.
Which in fact is a lie. And NEVER happened.
This is also confirmed to by a lie by my bank.

OH and I top of that I bought insurance on my ticket. And guess what. Insurance bought through Opodo is also a scam. They wouldn't honour my insurance on my ticket either!

Absolute joke. NEVERRRR buy from Opodo or Edreams.
Might as well take a stack of cash and light it on fire.

Terrible, terrible service. Never use Opodo! I booked flights with them to the USA. I requested flights to RDU. They said there were none (there are), so I booked to CLT instead - a 2 hour drive away. When I discovered there were flights to RDU, and asked to change my flights the same day I booked the original flights, they said I would lose all my money. I asked for a phone number or email address to submit a complaint and they gave me some no-reply type email address that generated an auto reply, and no response to my complaints.

I paid an extra £400 for a flexible return date. When I tried to change my return, they said there were literally NO FLIGHTS. There were, of course, but I had to book directly through United, and paid an extra £600 as United had no record of the flexible fare.

Two days ago I got an email from Opodo saying that my return flights have been cancelled. I am currently on hold trying to figure out what this means. I have twice been cut off by the call centre in India, having waited for 40 minutes. The online chat facility on their website requires you to have a Facebook account, which I don't have. I have wasted an enormous amount of time and money and never experienced such terrible customer service in my entire life. AVOID!

I made a booking to go to New Zealand and there was a misspelling on my first name just missing a y and my surname was put in where my middle name was I couldn't even change it these people wouldn't even give me a helping hand I just paid $1,300 return tickets it's funny because Air New Zealand they re corrected it right but at the end of the day Opodo could had just recorrect my name but they just wanted my $$$$ Don't use this Company

Dont bother booking with them. Dont' let cheap flight fools you. Go somewhere else

Worst experience ever. I booked a flight from Sydney to Melbourne. The next day I've got an email saying that the flight I booked is not available and they offered me a new time slot but i can't fly that time. (going with Tiger air and back with jet star i think) So I called them to cxl all my booking and I will book my flight again. I've got an email confirmed all cancellation from them. Then another week or two later they still charge me for the ticket. And on the next billing I've got an anonymous charge in my credit again.

I've tried to contact them but it seems like very difficult to talk to someone who can manage this matter. If you email them, they will say someone will get in touch with you but NOOO! No one ever contact me. Once I got contacted with them their staff said that my refund is on my way, I need to wait. Up until now i think its almost 2 months I still haven't get my refund and I couldn't contact them again. This is international booking. I've paid so much for calling them too. They over charge me for almost 600 AUD!
One was about 500 AUD saying that they cant cxl my 1st booking (when i have email confirmed from their staff saying that everything is cancelled) another 100 AUD was an anonymous charge, i checked all my reference, i don't have that reference number and it's not mine.

In short: the money was refunded by the airline but Opodo is blaming the airline (and lying to costumers) that it's because of Wizzair they cannot transfer the money back.

More details below:
I booked two return tickets to a Wizzair flight through Opodo. The flight was cancelled and Opodo informed me: "The airline has cancelled your flight. As your travel agent we have requested a cash refund on your behalf." I said, that's a shame to have the flights cancelled but at least I will get my money back... Little did I know!

This happened in July 2021.and the money is still not in! Of course, I spoke with their call center immediately after the cancelling about the refund and several times after (even sent an e-mail with all the details as they requested) and I was assured that the money will be transferred as "We are in phase "request pending airline authorisation", and it usually takes 3-6 months to get the airline/ Wizzair approval."

I checked with Wizzair and they confirmed the money have been transferred to Opodo on 31 September, 2021 (!), and in fact Opodo has requested Wizz credits and not cash.;)

So.the money was refunded by the airline but Opodo is blaming the airline (and lying to costumers) that it's because of Wizzair they cannot transfer the money.

The next step would be hire a lawyer as it's also about the money - 600 EUR, but also the ethics.

P.S. Booking reference is *******217 in case anybody from Opodo is actually reading this. ;)

Do NOT book through this company! Refusing to give us our £83 that BA refunded months ago.
Look at all reviews, we can't all be wrong.

I booked a flight which was cancelled due to the pandemic. It took days to get through to them (all they have is a useless chat bot or phone line). After 4 days I finally got through to a real person, and then a few more hours to get through on the phone, and they said I'd be refunded within 30 days (though not the full amount I paid!). I t was bout £70 short what I paid, but that was better than losing the whole amount.

Three months later I still have no money back, no updates (the only thing I could find in the app said the refund was requested... not processing, or complete). No way to get in contact with them. Their chat bot either says the English customer service is not available. Or sticks you in a queue for an hour, kicks you off for timing out, and makes you restart all over again. No luck with phones either. Just look at their twitter comments - NOBODY can get through to them. Or if they do, they're spending 7+ hours on the phone to them. Some spending £100's just on the phone (tip - use Skype to call as it's free or cheaper).

I understand it's a difficult and busy time. But going months without being able to contact them, get any updates or get my money refunded is not acceptable. They are literally ignoring their customers who they owe lots of money to. I had 2 other flights cancelled (not booked through Opodo) and those were automatically refunded within a few days after requesting it. So why is it taking them months?

Gave up on getting my refund from them and put a claim in with my bank to reverse the charge. That was done within a few days after providing the evidence they requested, and refunded me the full amount that I'd paid (and was entitled to - even according to Opodo's terms).

Avoid at all costs. I will never use them ever again, and will go out my way to make sure others don't either.

Opodo confirmed our flights and then cancelled them without informing us, denying responsibility and hanging up on me 10 mins before check in after being on the phone with their call centre for an hour at the airport.

We arrived at the airport and the airline (Aer Lingus/British airways) said that our booking was voided by opodo although I was still receiving emails from Opodo and the airline insinuating that we were still on the flight (including an email stating check in was open), and the airline app still had us on the flight.

Called Opodo for an hour at the airport who said there was nothing they could do and that we would need to pay an extra £250 each one way ontop of the initial £220 for a flight to Dublin. I said that they need to contact the airline to resolve the situation, as we still had seats on the flights per the airline, which just needed to be confirmed by Opodo (as they had confirmed with us) to which they said they would do, put me on hold and then hung up with only 10 minutes remaining until the gate closed.

This is completely unacceptable and the airline informed us this has happened numerous times and I have since found many others who have had similar situations with Opodo. DO NOT USE OPODO.

FIVE MONTHS waiting for the refund! 30+ calls! Lies and useless agents

I have NEVER experienced such a poor customer service as at this company! I had my flights cancelled and a refund APPROVED on the 7th of FEBRUARY. Until this day I received NOTHING!

I keep calling them constantly (approx. Every 5 days) since the Opodo's policy advices to reach out if the refund hasn't been processed within the 90 days. To just hear the same thing over and over "Wait 72 hours".
I am literally sick of this sentence by now. As I know it means nothing, cause nothing has ever happened after those 72 hours!. Until I call again to just hear the same empty promises.
Its unacceptable! I even had to call the airlines myself (as at first they were trying to lie and blame in on the airline). The airline though confirmed they processed the refund from their side between 1st and 7th of March!
So OPODO is holding the money and refusing to refund. And they keep trying to LIE to me every time, until I mention that I have an email confirmation about my refund being processed by the airline via BSP. Only after I mention this, they admit they received it, but its being held.

WHY! OPODO, CAN YOU REACT?!

And put me in touch with someone COMPETENT? Not the call centre agent who would just tell me to wait 72hours! I am gonna lose it if I hear it one more time!
I have been waiting for almost FIVE MONTHS! And called you 20+ times since the 90 days limit expired!

DO SOMETHING! Please!

You can't treat your customers with such disrespect!

Their website is a scam. They showed me a price of AED 5400 but when I clicked on continue the website it charged my card AED 5900. They have deliberately, make the website a scam with popups.

Hello,
I have booked a flight from Brussels Airport Zaventem to Tunis Enfida.
A booking for 2 persons. Very simple 2:30 hours flight, direct.
We made a reservation only with hand luggage and we want to add an extra luggage of 25 kg. Again very simple request. All companies and airline booking websites offers that. But apparently not OPODO.
I called them, first they said I have to call directly the airline company. The airline company told me that we have to get back to them.
So I was talking to the OPODO operator on phone and asked her to send me an email saying that opodo cannot deliver this service and she was telling me that she sent the email and I didn't want to hang up until I see the email in my box and I waited for 15min on the phone, and no email received. After a while she hang up, and I figured out that she wanted me to hang up the first to escape the report at the end of the call where they get your opinion.
Until now, no news how to add an extra luggage.
Thanks OPODO.

Worst seats for highest money, or cynical/cheating Opodo.
We were flying from Vancouver to London, 5th February just gone. We bought tickets via Opodo for Premium Economy, very early in June 2018. There was a reason for this one of us has a health condition that needs specific seats. And here is our story with Opodo:
Opodo wrote two very different e-mails: one to us and a second to the operator, British Airways. Opodo confirmed to us seats 14A and 14B, the most expensive in the given class. It was a window and isle seat. To BA Opodo wrote a very different e-mail confirming that we had two middle seats booked in one of the rows of four seats! Worst seats for highest price! Difference in these two e-mails is cynical and highly cheating.
The same happened on our way to Montreal from London three weeks earlier. Obviously, Opodo is consistent in their cheating customer care and behaviour.
We would not have had this information if we hadnt met a very helpful person at the BA check-in desk in Vancouver. She saw copy of Opodo's e-mail to us, went to check it from the BA side and told us an unbelievable thing; that they (BA) had from Opodo an e-mail with very different seats booked for us. Paraphrasing her expression: who would buy the worst seats for the highest money?! That is the perfect expression for the situation Opodo created.

Purchased a ticket from Brisbane to Melbourne flight JQ 563 of the 30/7/22

The flight was canceled by Jetstar which promptly refunded to their account the amount of aud220.22 the same day of the flight 30/7.
The first opodo assistant told me a lie saying that the flight company can get up to 4 months to refund them and it is not true as they have to refund within 7 to 10 days.
I have been waiting 2 months before to realize that something was wrong.
Contacted them again and they claim they haven't received the money.
Contacted jetstar that gave me the proof of the refund on their account (American Express xxxx xxxx xxxx 1007) and a cancelation/refund letter which is a legal document proving that the refund was processed on the same day of the flight departure (30/7) almost 4 months ago now.
After being cornered by this legal documentation they told me that the refund wasn't received on their end because of a balance error even if the letter proves they are wrong. I have sent several emails and called several times but no success,they keep saying the same thing or they copy paste answers that don't even match my previous email just to liquidate my email or they totally ignore the emails.
So if you don't want to find yourself in this situation do not buy from Edreams/Opodo as they are the same company.spend 20$ extra, will save you hundreds of hours of calls and emails and a lot of frustration
