I had recently found out that the person we trusted with our taxes, stopped filing them. For two years... I decided to contact the professionals at Optima tax. I did not know where to begin, Albert listened to me, he explained to me the process of how they work and yes, they can help. Martha M. Filed my back taxes as soon as i was able to get the documents to her. My case manager Lois Kept me informed about my case every step of the way through resolution. Turns out we were owed a refund. The first check we have received already... I would recommend using Optima Tax 100%

We were happy with most of the process. However, we agreed to have both State and Federal taxes reviewed and resolved and are still waiting on state tax resolution. I believe communication could be better when Optima is requesting data, ie an email or phone message instead of having to check the portal daily.

When we initially spoke to a representative at Optima, we were assured they would do everything they could to assist us with our tax problem. We decided to sign with them, because we knew we needed help. It was a very stressful time, but we immediately felt better after talking to them just once. We provided all of the documents they asked for, and responded quickly to their calls and requests. We did our part. In turn, Optima got us a better outcome than we ever expected. Every single representative and attorney we spoke with was polite, professional, and thorough. We highly recommend them!

They did a good job. They helped us get things figured out with payments to the IRS so we did not lose our house. I wish they could have save us some money but, that is the way it goes. The people were helpful and friendly. Thank you so much.

I have been waiting over a year now for a resolution and they never call back when requested. The people you talk to say they aren't part of your team so they can't help you. And the "team" never calls back. I paid over two thousand dollars and I believe it was all a scam.

I am not completely finished as of yet. So far everything is going well. Didn't understand the lingo about taxes. I understand the process because it's explained to me what they're doing. I wil know something soon I keep you posted.

This review is particularly about Ruth Rodriguez because she has been the only positive result during this seemingly long process with Optima Tax. Working with Ruth was a pleasure. Ruth helped move us forward in preparing the necessary forms needed. I honestly don't know what we would've done without her. Ruth reached out when we had no idea how to fill out the forms Optima asked us to return to them. Working with her made the process comfortable and uplifting during a stressful time. Ruth has been both professional and personable. Though we still have a ways to go in this tax process "because of Ruth" we feel confident Optima Tax has our best interest in mind and will lead us though to the end.

At first i did not know what to expect. But the staff at Optima walked me though every step, making sure that i understood the process. They are very professional and knowledgeable in there field. Optima Tax helped me to resolve my IRS debt. Although it was a 3 plus year journey with Optima Tax, they were able to reach a final decision which in turn made me a very happy and satisfied customer. I would definitely recommend their services to anyone in need.

My wife and I had several years of unpaid taxes. It seemed at tax time we would file but always owed and very rarely qualified for a tax refund and became frustrated. We knew at some point the IRS would start to come after us for what we owed and needed to do something about it before it was too late. We had seen the ads on television for Optima and the positive results they had in helping individuals resolve the tax liability issues with the IRS. We did a little research to see if the claims they made about the level of service they provided was on the up and up. We were presently surprised at the amount of good reviews that were posted and decided to give them a call. I'm glad we did. Optima took on our case and delivered as promised. They were able to reach an acceptable agreement with the IRS for us to satisfy and resolve our tax issues. We would recommend them to anyone to who needs to resolve their IRS problems. They are a life saver.

It cost me $10,000.00 more than my original tax dept when I hired these crooks. One of the biggest financial mistakes I have ever made! One star because this system wouldn't let me submit with zero stars.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Thank me later! Paid them almost $5,000 for to fill 3 tax returns. I thought these people were professionals and knew the ropes of getting the most out of a tax return. (for example, tax breaks, First Initiative Programs ect) That is a scam. The First Initiative program ONLY puts you on a payment plan. You can do that yourself. Spent to much money to get the bare minimum and I ended up owning more under these people. A total rip off!

Found myself in tax trouble. Owed the IRS over 16,000 dollars. I saw the commercial about reduced tax bill. Hired Optima for around 1,500 dollars. They delayed it for 2 years. No reduction. Now I'm paying the IRS full amount in installments payments. Plus the 1,500 I lost paying optima to reduce it. Be careful folks

Communications with Hai Nguyen seems very confusing and overly aggressive. I tell him my situation and many times I continually repeat myself. He turns my words around and interupts me immediately conveying an aggressive tone and using the IRS and their collection activities as a threat. I have not received any letters from IRS. I just needed assistance after the taxes are filed. This aggressive and manipulative shake down to get me on board is not appreciated. Please help Hai understand his aggressive and condescending tone is an immediate "NO THANK YOU"!

I'm the biggest nobody in America. If the IRS is doing anything to pay down the $31T debt why chase after the poor? My case isn't entirely OTR's fault. Friday, I recognized the tenacity of the IRS. My pitiful paycheck reflected the IRS tax levy. Four years ago I trusted OTR to help me. For whatever reason, the IRS deadline came and went. OTR knew about the deadline.
I stopped payment. Only a fool pays for something he didn't get.
Don't tell me OTR cares about their clients. I get it. I'm the biggest nobody in America.

I contacted Optima with the hopes of getting help with IRS back taxes and all I received was a bunch of bull. Everything they tell you is read off of a script. After I paid the initial fee I was told that someone would call me to confirm information and go over other details, which they did a week later. I requested to speak with the gentleman that was handling my case and was given the run around until I threatened to cancel. I finally received a call back from the representative and was not pleased at all. I was advised that I owed the IRS far more than I actually did and then was advised that I would have to pay Optima a small fortune in order for them to handle my case. I declined the offer because I couldn't afford their fee. I was told in the beginning that I would get my money back if canceled within 14 days and have yet to receive a dime. I do not and will not recommend Optima Tax Relief to Anyone...Ever!

They lure you in with a saleperson who will tell you what you want to hear so you pay upfront, this person has literally no idea if they can help or not. Then they stall for a year so they can do your next years taxes and hope some money hakes out. When it doesn't they set up a simple payment plan anybody could do with the IRS. That's all. I spent 3k on Optima, after a year of stalling I owed the entire amount to the IRS as well as roughly 2k in penalties and interest. They then offer everyone $350 to sign an agreement not to disparage the company. You can read all the fake positive reviews, but look at the negative reviews- every one of them says the exact same thing- those are the ones that are true

I never write reviews but I don't want anybody else to go through the expensive and stressful experience I had with these people. It starts with a positive phone call made by a professional salesman promising you to fix everything.
Over 3 years went by and they were sitting on ALL the paperwork they'd requested from me, every time I called to see what's going on nobody had a clue and they'd promise call backs that never happened.

Once they finally "closed" the case they made an deal with the IRS that I CAN NOT AFFORD!
BUT EVEN WORSE!
They didn't set it up right so after two months the IRS IS NOW THREATENING TO DEFAULT the agreement and I'm even worse off than when this started.

STAY AWAY... THEY RUINED MY YEAR..

This company didnt come through with what they were suppose to do concerning my tax problems. They take your money and NEVER COMPLETE ANYTHING. They have unprofessional workers. And have workers that are not knowledgeable concerning forms. The worker are just there to answer the phones and collect money. Please dont ever use Optima Tax Service they are a rip off company

I've been in their system for almost 4 years with nothing to show for it. I paid $13,000 for their services and all they did was prepared back tax years and I have to get another accountant to do them because they weren't done properly and say I owe more than I actually do. Long story short, they are not good at what they do and outright lie about their services. I settled with the IRS myself after dealing with these clowns for 1/2 of what their last offer to me was for. Customer service doesn't exist in this company and they cannot retain their employees for more than a few months. I've personally had to deal with a dozen different people along the way with each change starting me from scratch. When I called the IRS they told me I was a day away from garnishment and liens because OTR hadn't contacted them on my behalf for the last 6 months. I paid for that service? Now they want to offer me a $650 refund out of the $13,000 I paid them in which I ended getting the case settled….stay away from this company.
