I have been to the gym 3 times and have had great experiences every time at the Evanston, IL location. The staff is friendly and the location very clean, and the trainers very thorough at giving you a good workout. Highly recommended.
I called in to put my account on freeze as I didn't have daycare for the summer. I was told I could come into the studio on the Sat to sign for the freeze. It was also noted that I was doing a freeze on such day. Monday came they still deducted around 160 out of my account anyway. I called and told them I signed for a freeze. The manager pulled the well u will have a one mi th free in sep and I'm like I need that money now though. She said she just did the freeze will take a few days I said so u freeze and still take the money. I told her I do not want to attend your studio anymore so she sent me a letter saying this was my last payment. Crooked ppl!

If you value your body and working out, don't do it, if your a person of honestly and like the same in return. Don't come to any Orangetheory anything. They don't explain their protocols. They don't gave you any documentation for your own records. Their just not trustworthy period. Do not agree to autopay! And forget trying to cancel your
Membership. Just don't start, your better off
I have been a member for about a year. I have even been to other OTF studios in other cities and states and they are all great. It is a one hour workout with a class of 24-36 people, personal trainer, great music and the trainer tells you what to do. You must be consistent to make this worth it. Love it!
I started orange theory in January 2023.
My instructor John he works is Washington Twp
Ask me what my goal was and I said to have a flat stomach by June and he replied with hard work and determination you will! 6 months later my stomach is flat! And I lost 10lbs so orange theory worked for me i love all the coaches in the Washington Twp facility Thank you
Started ORANGE THEORY WEST PALM BEACH in May-charged May 1. Cancelled May 17. Received a confirmation email on May 18 that I was cancelled but since I missed the cut off deadline Id be charged one more one. Not happy about that but OK? They charged my card June 1 for June. That was the ONE MORE TIME.
They charged me again, for yet another time, on July 1 and refusing to give a refund Manager Ashley Wehnes wont even return a call. FRAUDSTERS. They take your credit card data and do as they please. Filed fraud charges with my credit card and bank. DO NOT TRUST THEM. Work-outs nothing special either. REPETITIVE REPETITIVE REPETITIVE. Not good for body structure. With so many work out places available you dont need to spend upwards of $80 per month to be treated so poorly. RUN DONT WALK - AWAY FROM OT HUGE RIP OFF. THEY HAVE NO UNDERSTANDING OF CUSTOMER SERVICE.
At Orange theory you have one trainer in a large class that is trying to lead three different classes simultaneously. There are three groups with each doing a different workout so the trainer is split into three. It is impossible for the trainer to provide proper individual instruction. Members are doing the Excercises without proper instruction on using proper form to prevent injury and get proper results. Once you finish your class you are escorted out and are not allowed to re-enter the workout room to use the equipment or space. They do not have locker rooms with locks for your valuables. No private space for changing, No showers, spa, or Pool. You are paying a hefty close to $200 per month for aerobic classes without instruction that you can get at any other gym for less than a quarter of the price. You're required to buy a fitness band for the classes which is unnecessary since you can simply use an Apple Watch or Fitbit to track your heart rate and progress. The orange Theory band only works for using the machines at their studios.
To sum up. I feel like I wasted $179.00 per my month for bad workouts at a subpar, deficient workout facility.
Tip for consumers:
Do not buy an overpriced membership

This therapy certainly has not worked for my 70 years old father. He took up the therapy with great hopes and assurance. Sadly, he is not relieved by a single percent.
He got the therapy for both of his knees. Treatment timeframe was advised for 1 month, however he continued there for 2 full months. Only because we have a relative in Indore, it was manageable for him to stay for so long as my father is from a distant small town (Hatta, Damoh). This may not be practical for non-locals.
He was assured(guaranteed) to get relieved by 70% or so.
While receiving the treatment, he was doing fine, as in, he could walk and lift his legs.
After completing the two months of treatment, once he left to his hometown, he couldn't walk even for a day.
Least one would expect, is to be able to walk/move for a year or months, sadly it dint help him even for a day.
The only workaround for this may be extended therapy which the clinic may offer, however there is no surety of number of days/months or any timeframe, let alone the challenge of uncertain stay in a different city.
Nothing is guaranteed as they say so. The expectation here is to provide clarity to the patient in advance like they will get expected result and the treatment duration. Everyone may not have a generous budget for the treatment.
In February me and my wife subscribed the OT program at East Boca Raton Unit. On the sales pitch we were told we could use gyms around the country and Canada, including Vancouver and New York the places we would move in March and April, leaving Boca Raton for good. They were really bold on that, and it seemed awesome for us.
So we used 1 month in Boca and went to Canada. For our surprise, Canada units have the same same but DO NOT accept subscriptions from US. So, all credits me and my wife had could not be used there. We froze our memberships and after a month we moved to NYC. For our surprise again, you can only use NYC's gyms if you pay a fee of almost twice the subscription plan, because they are like prime locations.
Then, I requested a cancellation for our plan and a refund of unused credit (in fact i paid 3 months and used 1). We had several discussions through the phone and we were not able to get any cent back.
So, on sales pitch, everything seems nice and amazing (not to mention we were told we could use OT's heart monitor, but nobody tells you it costs $15 per class until you go to 2nd class). Besides that really bad way of doing business - LYING AND FOOLING YOU - they have very bad customer care and no empathy at all.
This is the first time I have ever taken time to actually write a review on a business. I have been a member for about 3 months now and here is my feedback.
I have felt like a dollar sign ever sense I started. There is no sense of being a member. They don't go the extra mile to keep their members happy. I have been turned away 1 minute after the 5 minute late window. They told me it was for safety purposes but I'm finding it hard to believe that there is an extreme difference in safety within 1 minute.
They also charged me for that class, even though I was standing in their lobby.
I also have referred two members now and have never been told about a referral bonus until I overheard it in a conversation? Why was this never communicated to one of their members after referring two new members?
If you are a member and forget your heart rate monitor that you paid $119 for, they will CHARGE you to borrow one for class. That blows my mind.
This might be a preference, but they have showers and no towels, so you need to bring you own which is fine, but would be really nice to provide those for your members.
To sum it all up, maybe it would be better to not call us "members" because there is nothing setting us apart from someone who just walks in to take a free class. In fact, they go the extra mile to make them feel comfortable and cared for because they want their money eventually.
The only thing that is keeping me in this "membership" is that it's walking distance to my house. Once I move, I will be cancelling and also making sure to look for these things before I sign up for a membership anywhere! Definitely lesson learned on my end.
My daughter attended a class at the local Orange Theory with a group from her school, and while there, she spoke with the manager. My daughter informed them that she attends school in another part of town, and they assured her that it was not an issue and that she could take classes at any Orange Theory location. Additionally, they informed her about the 30-day quit-free guarantee, stating that if she did not enjoy the classes after 12 visits, she could cancel her membership.
After attending a few classes, my daughter did not enjoy the experience but decided to continue to complete the 12 classes. Upon completing the 12th class, she attempted to refund her membership, but Orange Theory informed her that she had voided her quit-free guarantee because she did not complete all 12 classes at the same location where she signed up. Although my daughter takes responsibility for not reading the fine print, it is concerning that the manager did not inform her of this detail, especially since they discussed the possibility of attending classes at other locations. After speaking with management, she agreed it was her own doing for not getting the refund of $80.00 however she has been charged an additional $160.00 for the following month because she did not cancel her membership 30 days in advance. It seems unreasonable to expect her to cancel her membership before completing the required 12 classes to fulfill the 30-day quit-free guarantee.
Despite explaining the situation to the manager, she did not show any concern or willingness to address the issue.
It is VERY disappointing that Orange Theory seems to prioritize monetary gain over customer satisfaction.
