Patreon has become my favorite platform for supporting the creators and artists whose work I admire and enjoy. The platform's subscription-based model allows me to contribute directly to my favorite creators, providing them with the financial support they need to continue producing high-quality content. I appreciate Patreon's flexibility, allowing creators to offer a variety of membership tiers and rewards to their patrons. Moreover, the platform's community features, such as exclusive content and behind-the-scenes updates, help creators cultivate a loyal and engaged fanbase. With Patreon, I feel like I'm making a meaningful impact on the creators I care about, while also gaining access to exclusive perks and experiences.
They won't give you a refund even when it follows the policy for a refund. They hide behind the creators to issue the refund when Patreon are the ones charging the fees. Complete scam. Also they will still charge you even when the membership has been canceled. BUYER BEWARE!

I got to use nothing. Then issued no refund. SCAM!
Ok, first of all, fees are huge, let's get that out the way.
Now, a real problem. So, as an artist, I was there for maybe year, promoting my Patreon almost every day, every where earning measly 40 bucks a month.
Few days ago I got offer by some people to support my art in bigger amount of money and as soon I received my money on my Patreon, problems started.
First, ofc, payouts delays for few days. After that I received 2000 dollars and ofc again problems from their Trust & Safety which is absolute joke of a team telling me that they found some suspicious activity, which is again, not true, but yea, they don't care.
Stay away and join Ko-fi, trust me.

This machine will be my new business and co creator for my old homemade 36' sailing vessel during her restoration. I look forward to a long relationship with the Sailrite family. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
This website does what it does well. You can easily find the person you are looking to sponsor and there's no problem cancelling a current subscription. It makes communication easy and it's nice how the creators can lock/unlock posts for specific tiers.
Since October they have been charging me from a Pateron that I don't know. I only received an email for it today.
Plus the layout sucks and is confusing.
Just another scammer site from greedy dummies.

Basics
Patreon was designed to give content creators an avenue for making money outside of platforms like YouTube. The main goal is to allow creators' supporters to support them in more ways than one. While it's a good start for smaller content creators especially, Patreon might still need a bit more work. Perhaps offering additional help for small content creators. Maybe having a special program to help out smaller content creators...?

Donation tiers, posting images and other content, and tracking Patron (donor) relationships.
After a series of unexplained fees charged by Patreon to my PayPal account, I tried to contact Patreon. Impossible. Never did speak to an actual person. Automated emails and phone messages. Patreon should change their name to Patronize.
Tip for consumers:
choose skillshare instead.

website is a place for artists to teach.
This site helps pay for content on YouTube and other similar viewer and patronage sites. They don't offer merchandise in exchange for a crowdfunder's support, unlike Kickstarter and other crowdfunding platforms. I sort of like it because it affords an opportunity to give content a person admires on YouTube and self-published books, magazines and other work a chance to evince their appreciation. However, it means that some of the more mature content or compensated content that is intended to remunerate the producer doesn't leave cyberspace or get marked as such. I think other crowdfunding platforms like GoFundMe, Fundly, etc. are a bit better. Unless there isn't another way, I would use an alternate platform.
This is about Patreon's own customer support (not any indiviudual creator on it).
Don't even bother trying to contact them. They take a shameful long time to reply and once they do, it's all standard emails. You clearly notice they don't take time reading what you actually wrote or asked about and just copy paste standard replies which often don't even match your problem. Or link to their "helpdesk articles" which also don't answer your questions.
Especially about VAT, even if you can proof you already paid it, they just tell you to wait till you can do your tax return to get it MAYBE back. Even though they don't have their codes in order.
So it's an absolute shame but to avoid wasting double taxing, frustration, and bad customer support, it's best to not get any physical rewards because if something goes wrong, don't bother hoping that they will help you.
Was accidently clicked on the next tier patreon when the next tire is pushed on every page so very easy to missclick and immediatly was charge money and when contacted the Patreon staff they told me that they deliver miney directly to the creator and that its the crwator decision what to do with it
Tip for consumers:
Stay away from Patreon site or at least immediatly delete ypur credit card details after subscribing to the creator you want

Patreon for creator
Patreon customer service is the worst in the world. Somehow they duplicated my account and charged me double. I notified them straight away with proof of the double charges and asked them to cancel this duplicate account and refund the charge. They told me the issue was I was billed for last month and this month on the same day and was a correct charge. I honestly don't think Eleina (their customer service person) even read my email and just sent a standard email response. I proceeded to email her back to clarify and never got another response even after six emails chasing this up. I contacted support again through the patreon website and it was more of the same but from different staff (Sai and Alex). Incorrect information. No responses. Generic responses that focused on just part of my email ignoring my refund and cancellation requests. They refused to have a manager contact me. I have now been charged double three months in a row and I asked them to cancel all of my accounts/subscriptions after I realised how pathetic their service is months ago so I shouldn't have been been charged even the first charge. No refunds. No apologies. No support to find out how to stop this. I've gone to PayPal and lodged disputes. Patreon owe me refunds for seven charges in total and have wasted almost three months of time now. They have no phone number and staff ignore emails they can't be bothered responding to. I will be telling everyone how terrible they are.
A wonderful chance to support local arts, work of different artists I love, and who are just on the way to their fame and success. Just a way to show support to those who truly deserve it
They are asking for paid reviews. Do not trust them. SCAMMERS. They asked me to leave a review but here I am. Insulting them. They are a SCAM. NOT A LEGIIT.
