“Pitney Bowes Does It Again!”

Anwar J.
4/14/24

Briefly, many of the remarks being made against Pitney Bowes would simply not be accurate. For one, its relationship with the USPS does not guarantee a smoother operation for either Pitney Bowes or for any location where post office services are offered (authorized shippers). Any issues with the USPS are a shared responsibility with the customer, the carrier, and the authorized shipper or service. Also, the new Pitney Bowes "Amazon" QR system has put Pitney Bowes on the map in a rapid way. This transition too makes it a more efficient company and to offer such a critical system for returns is absolutely noteworthy.

“Procrastinating Company/ Unreliable.”

Angel O.
5/13/24

Every time I order something and the company uses "Pitney Bowes" i already know its going to take longer than the date the actual company gave. Like if you order something and it says its going to get there on May 10th be prepared to wait til next month. Terrible service. I dont know why companies use them as a carrier. Horrible decision ever made.

I have a contract with Pitney Bowes, a 36-month term signed in 2017. I also signed to add services to my contract in 2019. Pitney Bowes, although the contract for 2019 says nothing about term, claims that it runs from 2020 to 2021. When I ask them to show me a contract with an ending date of 2021, they cannot do so, and keep sending me the 2017 contract saying it is common for a contract to begin a year after signing. They offered a "settlement" to me to pay almost $800 and they would "let me out" of my non-existent contract. When I said show me a contract that ends in 2021, I will honor it, otherwise, cancel my contract effective May of 2020 as the 2017 contract ending date states. They now sent me an email stating I have said I will breach the contract and therefore I am in breach and owe them money for the rest of the contract and must return their meter. I have never missed a payment with them, yet they claim I am in breach? This is a horrible company; run, do not walk from them as they have zero customer service and are thieves with their claims of contracts which do not exist.

The salesmen are slick and will feed you like a mushroom on the quality of work the machine is capable of, but do not be led on. The equipment if it worked regularly would be great, but it doesn't work continuously. Your employees will spend more time unjamming the machine at every possible location to get jammed. Furthermore, to unjam the machine you can't do it the way the 'manual' describes, instead, you have to put your hand way up inside the machine to perform this process. I am referring this machine to OSHA & NIOSH for a review to push the engineers to make the unjamming process safer.
I feel the people designing this machine have no regard for the safety of the people operating this piece of equipment and this needs to be addressed. My name is Tamara Smith and I am the Site Safety and Risk Management director for the company I work for.

We thought they were top grade, due to their presence in the market, but they are a terrible company that traps people in unbreakable contracts. THEY don't honor their own contract, but they force you to do so. They told us we were out of contract, and because the service AND product had been TERRIBLE, I chose to find another service. In Jan. 2020 we procured another service, which we are very happy with, but PB's then told us we were in contract until July 2024, because we'd accepted a replacement machine for one that wasn't working. I did not want to or realize we were extending the existing contract at that time. They are CROOKS, and won't let us out of our contract without an exorbitant fee. I've made a BBB complaint as well. DON'T USE PITNEY BOWES!

Tip for consumers:
If you don't have multiple mailing machines, do NOT rely on PB's. If you have a bunch of mailing machines, maybe they would actually DO something to assist you if you had a break-down on a deadline day. This company doesn't care about your company at ALL. They have left us high and dry on deadlines multiple times, with no response for 72 hours.

Package has been sitting at the Greenwood, Indiana location for 7 days and counting. Supposadly its in transit but its seemingly been in that truck traveling a distance that normally only takes 2 hours for 7 days. I could have picked up this package countless times in the time its taken them to do nothing so far.

To make matters worse when I attempted to contact them via their social media their customer service just spams the tracking page at you, tells you to contact the seller, and refuses to help you at all. Literally zero support.

If you get stuck with a seller that happens to use a shipping solution that utilizes Pitney Bowes, your probably never getting your package. If you do manage to get it, its likely going to be months late.

This company should be shut down, its not carrying out the service its charging for or doing them absolutely terribly. Then will not help you when they utterly fail.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! BUYER OR SELLER, EITHER WAY ITS BAD NEWS!

My company has used Pitney Bowes for over a decade and has been faithful customers that pay their bills on time. Last month, our postage meter stopped printing correctly so after an hour of waiting on hold we finally got them to send us a new machine, which came over a week later despite being promised delivery within 3 days. When we received it and set it up, the machine ended up printing with a defect so we couldn't use it. We called to have someone come look at it and were told someone would be there the next day. After 3 days of not being able to get an answer, we canceled our "contract" with them, which was intentionally month-to-month. After even more of a runaround, we finally were transferred to a man who was extremely rude and told us they had our signature and that they would file a report against us. When we asked for the signed document, we were sent a contract that had their sales manager's signature not only on his signature line but also on our signature line. This was the contract they were trying to enforce and intimidate my small business with! I was shocked they even sent the contract over, knowing that it was a blatant fraud. It has now been 1 month since the incident and they are still trying to get us to pay the fact contract's existing amount and also have yet to reimburse over $450 in Prepaid Postage we had on our meter. I am still shocked a company as big as Pitney Bowes would operate in this manner.

I attempted to add postage via the website. It spun forever and I guess timed out so no postage was added. I went to the machine to add postage. The default amount was set at $200. A couple of months ago, Pitney Bowes told me that a 1% or $1.00 minimum overage fee was added to my bill because I refilled at $200 rather than the threshold set for my machine of $150. Knowing that I didn't want to pay an overage fee (or blood money), I changed the amount to $150. There was never a message that the postage was added so I entered the $150 again and got a confirmation - a confirmation that $300 had been added. I immediately try to contact Pitney Bowes and have spent the last 2.5 hrs chatting and they still couldn't fix it. I've wasted more money trying to get help than to just pay the overage fee. Novel idea - they ding you every single opportunity they get. I have one question - I can certainly see there being a charge for not adding a minimum amount, but why in the world would a company want to charge for adding more than a minimum amount except to steal money from companies. I strongly suggest walking away from Pitney Bowes if you possibly can. Unfortunately, the person previously in my role signed us up for a 60 month lease. Now Pitney Bowes has opportunity to make my life miserable for the next 3.5 yrs. Oh joy!

I ordered something April 28 2020. Pitney Bowes has had it here in the USA since June 3rd, they held it in KY for almost a month, Sent it to NJ (allegedly for 4 hours on June 28th) then it disappears and now reappears on July 23rd in IN. It's several months and I'm still waiting for Pitney Bowes to turn my package over to USPS so it can be delivered to me. PB is clearly AWFUL.

I was a customer with "Pitney Bowes" for years I read a review where Vista has included a link on their site. Pitney Bowes is not the kind of company I would ever do business with again. For several years I had an account with them and never noticed that I was being billed directly and by my credit card. It took several months to clear up the double billing and I finally canceled the account. It is three - four years later and I am still getting a bill from Pitney Bowes. IT IS NOT A BILL IT'S A CREDIT! I have suggested that the keep the $19.00 credit because I want nothing from them and went all the way to corporate to ask them to stop sending this monthly statement. I have received over 60 statements that are credits and finally stopped returning them I just dropped them in the trash. They continued. I placed return to sender on a big stack of them and finally get a response asking if they have the right address. That's not a dunning letter that's stupidity. Pitney Bowes is not the kind of company I want to ever do business with again because of an extreme lack of communication, poor customer service and no follow-up. They have spent the $19.00 credit sending me a monthly statement for a credit I will never ever ever use. Get a life Pitney Bowes and find another ex-customer to not harase.

These guys are scammers stated they delivered package on Jan. 28th 2022 I was at home with my wife and daughter. They state this happen The package was delivered and signed for. If the signature received in the delivery confirmation email is not yours or that of a member of your household, please contact the merchant for assistance. Why on God Green Earth would I contact the merchant he is not the delivery guy. Never got the email strange. Never got the delivery. So the driver must of went to a friend's house and delivered it. With the tracking number i pulled up the map with the tracking line it looked like the guy delivered not to my River Road Address in Maple Ridge but to an address on Dewdney Trunk Road. I Called these guys and they tell you to call the merchant for assistance good luck they should all join the circus because they are most definitely clowns. To bad I could not rate these guys with negative stars in red they would most definitely get 5 stars in the negative. These guys should all be going to school and take a course in Map Navigation. But I guess they would have to go to school to learn to read first.

Ok, so I ordered from a seller on eBay that's based in UK. Listing stated International Priority mail delivery first that was a lie. Second the seller used eBay global shipping UK program which uses Pitney Bowes. My item was for a wedding $747.87 USD. All tracking stops at Lichfield Staffordshire WS13 8UR. I did get a USPS tracking label however it just says label created not yet received by Carrier. So all activities stopped at the eBay global shipping center in UK. I contacted seller that was no help he pretty much said it's not his problem he got it to the shipping center from there it's Pitney bowes problem. I paid $146.23 for international priority shipping not parcel select ground like it says on the USPS label created. So basically what this crooked shipping company did was send my package slow mail this pisses me of I've been waiting 3 weeks. I don't believe for one minute my package ever left UK Pitney bowes is a scam low life shipping company bottom feeders. Well the wedding is next week I file a INR with eBay and, still have not gotten my money back. One thing I took away from this whole experience is I will never trust a international seller or, ebay global shipping program and, I won't buy international ever again. Pitney bowes kiss my a** my package is probably sitting in some wherehouse or, someone stole my package whatever the case.

These are the facts: Employee prior to me purchased a SendPro C postage meter lease for 63 months and we are stuck with it. I attempted to get a reduced buy-out on the lease based on all the issues we have had, but Pitney-Bowes wanted us to pay for the entire lease!
We are spending far more on the lease than we are saving on postage, savings is approximately 12% of the yearly total lease amount.
Pitney-Bowes revised the "Purchase Power" Terms/Conditions for the meter overage fee without our acknowledgement or consent. The lease we signed had over $500 a month; revision was any amount over $150.00 a month. What business only sends out mail that is less than $150.00 per month? Pitney-Bowes did not disclose that you can prevent overage fees by having a 'Reserve Account' for the Purchase Power account.
The machine jams & double-charges us postage. I was told to go to USPS for a refund; however, you must have ‘proof' of the double-charges. Hard to provide proof when the jam will not print the postage out. It was extremely difficult and time-consuming to get a credit for the double-charges, but I succeeded in this after much frustration. We have had two machines with the same issues. I also requested that a technician perform a site visit for this issue and I was originally told that it would cost $500.00, so I cancelled. I later found out, from a Pitney-Bowes manager that this service is covered under the lease! So, I rescheduled the technician, but we are still having issues. I was told by technical support and the technician that there was not a history of this machine jamming, only to find out from the same manager that this was untrue!
Pitney-Bowes also did not disclose to us that there is a 'loyalty rewards' program. The points can be used in several ways, including a credit applied to your statement.
Customer service communication is extremely difficult to deal with because of comprehension and speaking clear English.
There are more complaints and issues, but these are the most important highlights.
