I would like to start my comment by thanking Thalia, who works at Peoples Jewellery located in Hill Crest Mall, for helping me choosing the perfect Christmas gifts. She helped me taking the correct choice of gift based on my relative's personality, age group, and character. Thalia is a very professional person who can definitely answer all your questions and fulfill your request. I highly recommend her.
I would never go back to Peoples Jewellers store. In the Scarborough Town Center the Ladys tried their best to fix the problem and I Paid what I initially agreed with.
I was given a necklace for Christmas present. Only wearing it for 3 to 4 times the clasp broke. I have to pay 57.00 to get it repair because I don't have their insurance. I had jewelry repaired no matter when I bought it or if I don't have insurance. After going into the store in Metrotown Alex was no HELP. I WAS TOLD TO CALL 1 800 number which I was put on hold for hour and half. To find out they will do nothing. Hour and half that I will never get back. I will never purchase anything from People or People related companies. Worst ever. I just looked at other reviews and majority are bad to worst. I wish I had known than I could have saved my time and headache on hold. Do yourself a favor avoid People and their related companies. If I could I would not even put one star but there no choice.
Tip for consumers:
Worst quality. Broke after 3 uses. Won't repair it.

My common law purchased a ring from Peoples, we live in a remote location and with Covid, stuff was taking up to a month or more to arrive, so he purchased in time to propose on his DECEASED moms birthday. I immediately noticed it was too high of a setting (No where on the website shows a side picture of the ring and how high the setting is). He sent it out, there was a postal error, and the ring returned approx. 1 week later. We fixed this, resent it and it was returned with a letter stating we are at 55 days, and can only exchange up to 60 days, that we got AFTER the 60 days. They say they will still accept an INSTORE exchange, the closest store to me is 12 hours away and in another province. With covid and where I live, we are still shut down at the border, and have to quarantine for 14 days upon return home. You would think someone would have some compassion and understanding and over ride that, but nope, all they are worried about is this one sale, instead of repeat sales later.
Tip for consumers:
Do not use this site and if you do, let your lady pick out her own ring.
Me and my partner we went there yesterday in people's jewellry in richmond outlet around 6:15, just to ask how does it work for the trade in and we just wanna clarify and the lady was on duty is not helping us and she doesn't even know what she's saying. And then we ask her the receipt if she can print it out she said "do you wan't me to do it "now" we said yes. She doesn't wanna do it, and she being mean too. She is Indian.
Ordered a ring online and paid extra for 2 day shipping (with everything going on I expect it to be longer) but came to find it wouldn't come for 6 weeks, i needed it before then so tried getting ahold of someone which i couldn't message online nor could i reach anyone by phone (was on hold for an hour) Im still trying to get ahold of them needless to say don't pay extra for shipping and if you order something make sure its what you want because your stuck with it till it gets to you unfortunately they're customer service is terrible.
Got a bracelet for Christmas, needed 2 links added as it was a bit small, took in it Boxing day and was told 2-3 weeks, after 2 weeks I checked and was told "it's due back Jan 17th, which would be the 3 week mark. Called again few days after the 27th, now I'm told they have no time on when it will be back. This is the worst customer service! If you sell something knowing that some people need adjustment to sizing, you should have a better turnaround. At this point I just want my husband to get his money back and we'll go somewhere else. I DO NOT LIKE People's Jeweler... Go to Michael Hill, much better customer service.
My husband purchased jewelry for me last Christmas. One piece was a beautiful necklace. On Dec. 26th I was wearing it and it broke. (fell to the floor) as I was attempting to show it to my sister. This was not a cheap item. When I returned It I was told it had to be sent out for repair. I decided to choose different jewelry instead of waiting. One piece was a pair of round, small, sparkly earrings. I wore these and loved them until the stem came out of the back of the earring. I returned these and was told it would cost approximately the value of the earrings to have them repaired. I asked for an exchange but was told no. I called customer care and was told I should have bought extended warranty. Very rude! Quality is very important to me. I have dealt with Peoples for years and am very disappointed! Customer satisfaction is what its all about!
I sent my wedding ring to be engraved and my engagement ring to be cleaned 5 weeks before my wedding. I was told it would take 3 weeks. After 3 weeks it still hadn't left their workshop so the store put a rush on it. It was shipped 3 days after my first call to the store. I called again on the 5 days later to see where it was and I was told it had been shipped and they would call me. I contacted them again 2 days after that and complained and finally they realized the shipment from their repair shop has been lost by UPS!
So 3 days out from my wedding and I don't have a ring. I will never get my engagement ring back and although they are rushing to replace the ring, I have not received any other form of compensation for the loss of such a special piece of jewelry. I was just fobbed off with a weak uncaring sorry.
I have learnt my lesson, I will never shop at Peoples Jewellers again and I recommend you don't either.

Don't buy from this company. We bought gold hoop earrings and they turned out to be plastic. The store replaced them and now again u can see the plastic. Total scam. The gold chains they sell are also plastic... beware. This was from the store at the Oshawa Centre.

I asked a warranty question and they couldn't even answer it, they told me to go to the store. The warranty on-line and in the store is the same. The other question months ago was about a product that I had purchased in store but it was also on-line and again they told me to go to the store. They're in a hurry to take the MONEY but not in a hurry to HELP. I would not recommend and I have a lot of Peoples Jewellery. I had to choose an overall rating, if they would have given me the option it would be zero stars.
I purchased my wedding band from Peoples and had it on my finger in August 13,2022 - October 28th 2022 one of the diamonds fell out. As i have a warranty that i paid about 300$ for i took it in that day and they sent it off...The date to receive it back was scheduled for December 16,2022. I called on that day because i had been tracking and the repair and didnt see any progress. Called the store and was advised that it would be up to 12 weeks! 3 months...i only had the ring on my finger for just over 2...I asked if i could just come in because i had a warranty to get a replacement and was told I could trade UP.like what the hell Peoples Jewllers...this is unacceptable service...i have purchased a warranty and ur taking over 3 months to replace one little diamond...WILL NEVER PURCHASE HERE AGAIN
Brought in a ring that my mom gave me it's a combination of a Sapphire, and Diamonds had it checked needed prongs and sizing, 3 weeks ago employee checked it verified what I needed ( had it check by another jewelers just to compare) well no calls from them called twice, first call nothing second call in progress, then nothing, went in today Ottawa store, was told oh! The "master jeweler" said their was more work to be done more prongs were Broken, by now I have lost my patience, 2 employees making excuses one of them is the one who verified it at the beginning, then the manager stepped in no one knows what to say except we will contact you on Tuesday ( Nov 12) will c what will happen it is already a $800 repair
Back in March my diamond fell out of my wedding ring. I've been wearing my ring for about a year and a half now. I get it inspected every 6 months for what we understood was a cleaning and tightening of the prongs. Now, 3 months after my last visit with my ring, the diamond falls out. I brought it in today to get repaired assuming it was cover by warranty. Little did I know that the diamond was the only thing covered. If it gets lost. Which in my case, I had it with me. My question is, how do you lose a diamond if your rings in perfect shape? You can't! So that's one game they play... you'll be paying if your diamond falls out even if you think it's covered.
People's then proceeded to tell my the whole ring needs repairs. The prongs are messed up and the rings very bent. I got this ring checked over 3 months before the diamond fell out... did they not inspect it?
I'm now paying over $300 to get it replaced. The ring was only $430. Too me it's says cheaply made and bad service. I'm not unable to wear my precious wedding ring and thinking about replacing it all together.
I have ordered a neckless from here on April 19th for my mum for mothers day. It was expected to be arrived on the 8th of May. The shipping kept changing the day it was supposed to be delivered. I got an email saying there was a notice left for the necklace but I have never received it. Til this day I still haven't gotten the necklace I have spent over 300$ on and I am beyond outraged. I will never buy anything from Peoples Jewelers again.
I find it despicable that after being a good customer, nothing has been done to retain me, when a nice piece of jewellery(earrings) I bought with my hard earned money changed colour and became ugly. Shame on you PEOPLES JEWELLERS. NOT RECOMMENDED.
I ordered a set of earrings, ring and necklace, my order never arrived and Peoples was not responsible, also the customer service is very poor and sometimes rude.

I made a online order and my pendant was never delivered to me the stud earings were bigger than my face and j wanted to return them. I issused a return but then i was told to keep them but still get the refund. I even have the screenshots of the chat. Then i never received the refund and when i caled they hung up on me 3 times and this whole thing was labeled as miscommunication even though i provided them screenshots.
I sent out my wedding ring to be sized, they took pictures and inspected it for any damage before sending out and I have those pictures in my email inbox directly from them. I wait over a month before hearing that the ring needs $450 of repairs. I only paid about $200 for the ring back in 2013 and paid $95 for the lifetime warranty. They tell me this damage is not covered and send it back. They refuse to do anything, if I take a replacement ring I'd have to pay the warranty fee again based on the new price of the ring which puts the warranty up to $155. On top of that the store manager tells me these now $500 rings are inferior products and will only last a couple years so I'll likely need to replace it again and buy another warranty every few years. So much for LIFETIME protection plans. They also claim the manager is not trained to look for damage even tho she was able to work the microscope they have at the store and show me this damage so she's clearly capable. Why inspect it and take pictures if they're not gonna look for damage? Why offer a lifetime protection plan that literally says "all necessary repairs from normal use are covered" but then turn around and say even tho they believe the damage was caused from normal use they won't cover it? I have no options because I can't wear this ring if it won't fit me and the $95 lifetime warranty is now void. My ring has no value now and if I pay $155 again for the protection plan I'm paying more than the ring was worth just in plans that I already know won't cover the ring the next time it needs fixing.

I purchased a ring from their website just over two months ago as a gift. Unfortunately, we found out that it was too big for the recipient just past the 30 day return period, so I've been trying to exchange it since then to get the right size. I was informed that I would have to exchange the ring in person despite living an hour away from their nearest store. When I got to the store, I was hoping that they could simply take he returned ring and order me a new one in the right size. However, I was told I would get an egift card within 48 business hours and I would have to reorder it myself once I got the gift card.
I was already frustrated by this since I bought the ring on sale and now have to pay more for it just to get it in a different size, but it gets worse. The ring went completely out of stock online, and after those 48 business hours were up I still have no refund. I messaged a chat representative today to ask about my missing egift card and they informed me that it will actually be a refund to my credit card within 14 days. I called customer service to complain that it's been a month since my issue occurred and I still have no money and no ring, but they said that since I'm getting my money back there's nothing else they can do for me. I will definitely be purchasing a ring from a different company for the gift, and furthermore, I will never shop here again. Overall, what should have been a simple exchange turned into a disaster that customer service seemed to care very little about.

I ordered a ring for my partner for his birthday. His first ring from me. After several days of chatting with agents (who all told me different things), phone agents and going to a store, I picked out a ring to surprise him that I knew he would love!
I gave him the surprise on his birthday which was a big fake diamond ring and in the box contained a paper showing the ring, the size, and the delivery date of October the 14th.
Today this morning (5 days after placing an order) they tell me they cancelled my order because it's out of stock!
All the agents have the same attitude. "We're refunding your money, pick something else!"
Don't let these guys trick you! They don't care about your special occasions! Their strongest quality is disappointment.
On a side note, I found something that was $50 more than the original one I purchased. As a solution asked for them to give it to me for the same price and "they can't do that because it's not the same item" but the item I want, is not available.
I still have yet to tell him that he's not getting it now!
What a disappointment for such a wonderful birthday surprise!
The ring is still available to order in all sizes on the website so I'm just one of a few people that are going to end up with the same result!

I'm still trying to come up with something. Anything that's not a disappointment.
So far I've bought three earrings from them and two are already falling apart. Literally. Bought my mom two earrings within a 3 month time span for Christmas and Valentines since I (honestly) was not sure what else to get her. She's does not wear earrings much and only wears them during special occasions. This is relevant bc, in the few months she's own them, she only worn each about 3 times. The problems with each one:
Pearl earring: pearl disconnect from the actual stud
Hoops: was at a bday party when we noticed her left earring was gone(thankfully it was a small backyard so we found it quickly) tried to put it back on and realized the clasp is loose, quite literally does not close properly.
Contacted their customer service chat line, they asked basic questions (name, order number, problem, etc) only thing is, it took then 5 mins in between each question to respond. By the time she tried to give me a solution it was already 35 mins in just for her to tell me to go to an inperson shop.
I took two rings in for resizing - an engagement ring and an eternity ring. I asked that the claws also be checked. I was happy with the engagement ring sizing and overall cost, however when reviewing the eternity ring, I was told that pretty much ALL claws needed to be retyped, which would cost, with sizing, over $1000! I refused the repair, and took it to another jewellers, with the same request - sizing and check the claws. It came back polished like brand new, resized, with the jeweller's appraisal that ALL CLAWS WERE FINE. Be careful - if the price sounds crazy, get a second estimate!
I had purchased a gift on their website, based on the date suggesting it would be delivered within two days. I never received an email providing an update, and when I checked the status online, it told me it wouldn't be delivered for another two months. So I called customer service to follow up. The representative was lovely, and when I explained what happened, and the reasons behind why it was time sensitive. She apologized for the inconvenience, and said she had many complaints with similar issues on their website with the dates being inaccurate. She said under the circumstances, I could call the toll free number to have it cancelled. I spoke to another representative who was clearly in the States, not Canada. She was rude and offered me no assistance or apology, and said if it's possible to cancel I'll get an email. Otherwise, too bad for me, I won't be able to cancel it. I never received the email.
I just followed up again online with a live chat rep, who boldly told me in caps, that the order had shipped and could NOT be cancelled. I would ha 've to go through the inconvenience of waiting for it to be shipped a month from now, drive an hour to go get it, and do a return in person instead.
I will never ever deal with this company again. And I will definitely warn others of my experience.
I have purchased two gold Earrings and they left it out on the porch which unfortunately it was stolen and their excuse was we do not cover stolen items
