I hate this company... why? Because they send you a letter in the mail
That looks like an official State of Michigan federal notice that you are
In VIOLATION of the labor poster laws, but it's just their way of trying to
SCARE you into buying an updated labor law poster!
These laws seem to change almost MONTHLY and your labor posters
Will likely technically be out of date the month after you get them.
While they DO provide decent posters (yes I have bought them anyway), I
Abhor their tactic of mimicking a governmental agency!
For that reason, I will never buy their posters again... as I'm sure there are MANY
New companies that are fooled by this tactic (myself included 10 yrs ago).
I don't like companies that try to fool you or 'trick' you into thinking that this is
A LEGAL requirement (even though technically it is)... they have NO jurisdiction
To fine you, or anything else of you opt NOT to update your posters at about $45 or more per month.
Good posters, BAD tactics... eventually I will scan one of their imposter mailings, so you can see JUST how much they try to impersonate a Michigan governmental body! It 'should' be illegal!

Then it has a rather official michigan looking logo, and says "2015 Compliance Update"
Comes in a mailer with tear off sides, just like is used by the state.
When I first saw this (10 yrs ago as a business newbie), I thought it was an official notice from the State of Michigan, which is EXACTLY what they want people to think; that you HAVE to buy their posters or your in violation! BS! (Throws yet another "compliance notice" in the trash). I now buy my posters yearly from another provider.
This company is a scam/predetory company and will lie to you about things you need up to date in your place of business. Bought from them one time and there very rude employees threaten you with fines and litigation if you dont buy from them now. Never bought from them after first purchase. Contact your local state labor offices and just purchase through them if its not already free. Have a good day

I made the mistake of ordering compliance posters for my work and now I'm continually blasted with mail, both at work and now to my home address with renewal notices. I have never given my home address and have also asked them on several occasions to remove me from their list. Buy once and you are screwed to continually receive mail.

In Dec 2023 I bought posters($27). Then received a phone call from a person that could barely speak English. I told her to send me an invoice and I would decide, because I wouldn't buy anything that I was not understanding what was over the phone for $275. As soon as I received the invoice, I emailed them back, stating that I didn't want to buy anything from them, and asked to take my business out of their list. Jan 2024 I received a phone call threatening me to pay or they would send me to collections. This guy Ron was very rude and kept calling and emailing me. I don't feel like paying because I never received anything from an invoice that I said I was not buying. But I am now confused about how to proceed. I wonder how this company is still in the business scamming small business.

I ordered a $20 poster then they called and upped the price to $249. Blatant rip off. These are free posters that you can print online, but gathering all the necessary ones are some what of a pain. $20-$30 fine, but bait and switch all the way up to $249 is awful.

They try and give the impression of being linked to local government - warning you that you will be fined if you don't display compliance notices (that they charge you for).
It's all a scam - do not buy them!
I am experiencing exactly what many other people have shared. I am a small seasonal business that got sucked in briefly and cancelled almost immediately. They kept sending information to me that I didn't request and then started sending bills for documents that I didn't even receive. I am now on my second collection agency that is calling with threatening message. These people are obnoxious predators who should be shut down. Next stop is my Attorney General's Office for Consumer and Business Affairs. Their fraud department will shred them.
These guys try to use scare tactics stating you are out of compliance by not having these posters. If you say anything but "NO", they take that as a verbal confirmation and try to bill you. Needless to say, we had had IT block them from being able to contact us. Of course, they managed to slime their way through by calling the HR line. They did not identify themselves and simply asked to speak to the EHS representative. I let the lady talk for a few minutes and then just hung up. Losers.
Personal Concepts keep calling me all day and sent my information to credit collection to pay 265 even though I have not asked for any of their services. They are fraud pretending to be government agencies and attempting to collect money from new business owners. They sent you threatening messages telling you that you are not in complaints with Labor Laws. Such companies should not exist. All they attempt to do is to gather enough personal information from you so that they can keep scamming you or sent your name to collection as if you own them or sign up for the services
I got my first set of labor / compliance posters from them when I opened my coffee shop. The following year when they wanted me to renew my posters and pay again, I said no thank you. They then continued to call me everyday even tho I asked not to be called again. They alluded to the fact that I was "out of compliance and the call was recorded" trying to string arm me into buying. After saying no at least 20 times, they then called my business line and spoke with one of the employees who repeatedly told them she was not a manager. She did confirm the address due to them saying the word compliance over and over. They then sent the posters and charged $391.
How in the hell is anyone supposed to take a California company who uses intimidation to tell me how to govern my OHIO store? These and every tele-scam-ahole need to be pulled from their blankets in the middle of the night, locked in a blank room with 2000 actively ringing phones glued to the wall. Or taken out and back and $#0+!

Hope this information helps other businesses just like it helped mine. Peace.
Personnel Concepts is a total scam. They prey on new business owners to purchase their documents when they are free of charge from the Department of Labor. They also send this info to you without consent and attempt to charge you for the items sent. I was recently told by Personnel Concepts that I would be sent to a third party collections agency as a result of items sent to me without my consent. When I offered to send the unopened unauthorized items back, I was advised that I could not. Do NOT by any means necessary use this company. Please do your own research of what is needed for your business that could be obtained free of charge.
This company insisted that this young entrepreneur that we had to have these materials for compliance! Took a payment of $11 over the phone. When the materials arrived, there was no packing slip. The assumption was that there was no further payment needed. And now we have a bill for $200! This is a total scam! They take advantage of first time business owners and should be closed down!'
They start off by offering a single poster for $10. I fell for this and their $10 turns into $500 dollars. I have spoken to them several times and told them I do not want their posters. They are very pushy and almost bully you into thinking you have to do this or your business will be in some kind of violation of federal and state laws. I informed them that I can visit my state department of labor website and order the poster for free. Same with OSHA and the federal gov. Department of labor and so on. They are calling me almost weekly now and it shows up as a local number. They not only call the business phone number but are also calling my private cell phone.
Answer: This is an absolute scam. They called to confirm the order, which I thought was weird, but whatever. They lied to me about what my boss ordered and what should have been a $25 order ended up being well over $200. They also lied to me about what we needed. I work for an employment lawyer so my boss knew what we need to have up in the office. We called to cancel the order and they refused saying that it had already been shipped, but the tracking information said that the label had been created and that it had not been shipped yet. They did say that we could refuse the package when it arrived and we could get a full refund. I was annoyed, but decided not to fight it anymore. About an hour ago my unwanted package was delivered in a tube without a top on it. The only way to refuse a package is if it is unopened. Since it arrived unopened we couldn't refuse it. I went to the post office to see if there was some loophole and they said that since I couldn't prove it arrived open, there was nothing they could do. Since it arrived open, the posters were damaged. I called Personnel Concepts to get a refund for damaged product, but they said that they were not responsible for any damaged product and refused to give us a refund. They said that if we paid out of pocket to send it back that they would give us a refund. However we're mad because they lied to us about what we need and what we ordered. It is wrong that they lied and it is wrong that they refused to cancel the shipment and it is wrong that they are expecting us to pay for a damaged product that we didn't even want to begin with.
Personnel Concepts has a rating of 2.3 stars from 78 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Personnel Concepts most frequently mention scare tactics and labor law. Personnel Concepts ranks 9th among Human Resources sites.
