Alley was exceptional so very friendly and helpful. Was an absolute pleasure. Great at offering other items as well... smile was so sweet
I came into your store to sell clothing. I saw you had purses 70%off. I grabbed two from the second each where it has 70%off. I was told those were not on sale they were the ones by the front door. Your cashier Bella was rude nasty and unprofessional! False advertisement! I will never come back here and I will be telling everyone I know family, friends about this and they will never come here again! Unbelievable! Fix your false advertisement! I will most definitely refer my fam and friends to encore!
I've been selling there for a long time but this girl with the heavy black bangs and heavy makeup from the 70s said most of my clothes were from last winter, really? So they want the clothes you bought this winter - good luck with that. I refused their silly offer and donated the clothes to Hope's Door.

I am not one to ever give reviews but this was a terrible experience. The staff were very unfriendly and not helpful in giving any direction or even seemed as if they wanted to do their job when taking my items. They took 6 items for $13 to top off this 1 star review. Gross.
No one greets me ever when I go here, I was basically ignored, waited 10 minutes by the front counter to get a dressing room, even though three people were working. Was told well our limit is 6 items in dressing rooms but since you have 7 I guess I'll let it slide this one time…. Like I was a thief or something. Like… no worries lady I'm not going to steal your old, overpriced goodwill items. It seems they have all the same style tops, same style dresses, same style bottoms…. As if the owner accepts only 1 fashion style, what she likes. The owners wig was atrocious and their customer service is just terrible. No wonder their website ratings are only 2 stars…..
Tip for consumers:
Don’t use this place!

I have only been there 2 times, but found numerous stains and even holes in items. Staff offered me $2 off an item priced at $25 because it had a stain right in the middle of the front of a pullover. Really!?! No point, waste of my time, I will shop anywhere else first.

Purchased a jacket but none of the other itmes I was looking for due to lack of quality control.
They're literally stealing because they don't pay anything for name brands or up to date items. Also, no matter where you go to Plato's at the women and girls are mean and look at you like you're peasants. It's not worth it at all.
I took a box full of clothing where some things still had tags. Most items were from tj maxx. They took nothing writing the word pass on my receipt. As I picked up my bag, I noticed multiple bags of clothing next to mine with the word "pass." What's the point of a used clothing store that only takes items less than 2 years old. Then you see what they're selling and some of the clothing is completely worn junk. I don't understand at all but I will not waste mine time stopping there. If you need to sell, download Mercari!
Okay, what's the point in dropping off clothes for 45 mins then to come back saying you won't sell them? Don't waste my time, new items, new tags. Etc. It's okay, goodwill can have them and enjoy the donation. This place is a joke and so unprofessional.
They pick and choose what clothes they want to buy from you. It doesn't matter how many items I bring in or nice it is, I always only get offered $4 no more no less. Name brand stuff and all. Hope this isn't a racist thing
Employee service was horrible… they barely acknowledged me and i was standing around waiting just for them to check me in to sell my clothes… and when i got the message they were done i waited for about 10 minutes while 3 girls sat and talked the whole time not helping me at all doing absolutely nothing with no other customers around. Over heard them talking bad about other employees and customers doesn't sound like a very friendly environment to me… i wills be taking my business to fringe from now on they offer much more for the good ideas i bring in and are friendly and not rude… very disappointed y'all should work on this…..
Before coming in I asked if they accepted plus size clothing which they confirmed. I brought huge bag of clothing (all trendy and some with tags). They only took 4 items, one pair of brand new shoes, jacket with tag and couple XL sweaters yet they were still going to keep the remaining items. I requested to have back and donated to a non for profit organization. Also, when looking around the store there were barely any plus size clothing and lots of wrinkled and worn looking items. Very disappointed in the process. I would much rather donate to somewhere that I know they will go to great use.
The girls who work here do not want to give you the time of day because they don't want to be there themselves and they make it super apparent. I have never felt more unwelcome in my life. I'll never come back because of the workers And their lack of Customer service
Tip for consumers:
If you want to go to Plato’s closet go to the south coast location. The workers are more kind and professional and actually know what they’re doing. Huntington Beach Plato’s do better

Do not even bother trying to sell your items here. Their employees hype it up like they actually will buy your items and give you a bit of profits. They give you 1-6 dollars even if they item is BRAND NEW, they then turn around and hike the price up tremendously! Disgusting. Might as have just given them the items for free. On top of that they don't take many items away. Just stick to Marketplace and donation bins.
Plz Don't do business with Plato's closet, this store 2135 Gallatin, Hendersonville, Tn I had tote full of New Clothes with tags on them, they tried to say they were kids sizes. I have 5 teen grands, The pic below offered me $7.79 for 2 $150 items. They said, they were looking for 'casual' clothes. I don't know what Levi's jeans are, but casual?, sz 4/5 distressed jeans, tried to say some had stains on them. They're new, tags on them, in a tote with the lid. ( as above) when I asked to speak to a manager. They claim she was gonna say what they said. Tried to say some came from Walmart. I don't even shop Walmart. Because I asked questions, they didn't want to talk. I took my things in tote & left. Don't Ever have to worry bout me doing business with them. I told thrm, I would be doing a bad review

All the girls who work here are catty and rude, they pick and choose who they like, and the manager is a complete joke. He picks favorites and doesn't hold anyone accountable for anything. I do not recommend coming to this place it's horrible.
Took in a bunch of clothes and couple pairs of shoes. Most were never worn and still had tags on them. Nicer items then what i found on the sales floor. And they said no can't buy do to condition. And the service was rude. Never will i recommend any of there stores.
Treat me like a $#*! when I went to pay for my merchandise but the people in the front where treated with better than I was the cashier was unprofessional in handling the money by the way after the buying the stuff she didn't thanks for shopping please don't shopping in this store they show there true colors when different races come to shop " they treat white people like they should be able to shop then other races! Please don't go there it's ridiculous how I was treated when I went with my mom!
I just returned from my first visit to sell clothing. I looked online for their expectations and decided to select a small group of name brand clothes to see what value they would give me. A 575.00 coach bag, blue leather bomb jacket, puffer jacket from MK, MK shirt and MK brown and gold sneakers... 31 dollars... I chose to keep my items...
Tip for consumers:
I wouldn't sell your clothes there...perhaps great to shop.
Never had a problem, everyone who complains about them not taking their things, either have ugly items, things that they know would not sell, why would they defame the store intentionally? Took most of my things and gave me a a little over $200, helpful people.
Employees accused me and my friend of shoplifting. This place sucks I mean I don't think looking at sunglasses and jewelry is illegal- employees said that someone told them that they saw someone stuffing jewelry in pockets, me and my friend had been over by the jewelry for a while looking at everything. We got stopped on our way out. The fact that we are both minors (with an adult) makes everything worse, I don't think your $#*!ty employees should be accusing minors of shoplifting?
As a mom of 7 kids, I would be lost without Plato's closet.
My teen son and daughters can always find things they love at a great price!
And when they outgrow them it's nice to be able to turn around and sell them back to buy more! :)
Took 5 trash bags, 11 coats. Within 20 min I was notified they were done. No way they got through all that within 20min. We got there about 6:15. Was notified at 6:30. No way. I liked the store saw some things I liked but will not go back or recommend.
They took 3 boots from me. One was worth $40 the other was $30 and the last was $20. They were all new and in excellent shape. How disappointed I was when they gave me $13.30 for all! That comes to $4.43 each. I waited approx an hour for their review. I will be paying it forward and donating to the needy. Not worth my time or the gas I paid to get there!
Terrible customer service, everyone looks like your bothering them. Two people behind counter and waited behind the one person waited on for 10mins. I just want to walk out! Now they can't find an matching boot. Unnn
This place is a ripoff from the word go! Poor customer service. Poor display of products. Offers $1.50 for designer shirts then sells them for nearly 10 times what they offer. Poor communication between staff and customers. Overall, one of the worst experiences I have had. I'll never again shop or bring items to sell here.
I'm surprised Plato's is still open. They typically hire really rude employees with poor customer service skills. They have really ratty clothes for sale but refuse to accept anything you bring in because its not "in" that year. Every store I have been too is very dusty or badly kept. Wouldn't recommend.
Plato's Closet buys and sells gently used clothing for teens and twenty-something boys and girls. Our used clothing stores offer a huge selection of current, trendy styles as well as every day basics you can't live without - all at up to 70% off retai...
