I've been using Playerauctions on and off for a few years now with only positive results. It's one of the few auction sites that allow auctions for online commodities in games and for game accounts too.

I've been doing business with PlayerAuctions for over 10 years and they will always be my #1 choice. They have constantly made improvements to their platform, increased security and protection, and are very easy to use.

Easy and trustworthy to sell and buy!
Ive sold plenty of accounts that went smoothly, disputes and any issues that may occur during the process are first fixed by the seller and buyer, and if it is not, it gets escalated towards player auctions which do the third person view using the chat logs

Bought from them some time ago and I'm quite happy everything is ok with the order. The seller was upstanding and I'm still in touch with him (her, not sure?) And i will most likely buy again. Maybe gold for the next round. :P

They ask for:
Fill out a form with my contact info and address etc
Picture of my Drivers License
Utility Bill with matching address
Phone number and best time to reach me
Sign the document with ink and that I have someone take a picture of myself holding my drivers license
You do realize that with all of this you can do almost anything in my name?
You can open credit cards, you can have any online account opened/changed/closed, you can get to your bank accounts...
I've try first with my credit card, as it was simpler but i've try with my G Pay account they ask for the same think. The only way would be to use crypto currency. That is dangerous at best.

Hello Gaston,
We're sorry for the concern this has caused; please don't worry, your info is never used outside of PlayerAuctions and we only ask for it to verify your identity and payment ownership. Since the orders are now canceled, you will be receiving a full and automatic refund for them.
Best,
Richard
One thing to know in advance is that they ask for IDs, I think to prove you are a real person? But for me it was worth it since I've done something similar for a local service. The account and process was really good.

Hey, Deirdre—yes, and this is to avoid fraud or unauthorized charges to ensure payments are legit and secure. Thanks a lot for doing that and I'm glad you found an account you wanted. :)
Everyone knows that if you buy gold online, there is a huge possibility your account will get hacked or you will get scammed. Using PlayerAuctions as a third party middle-man takes away the risk. They take your money, hold it in limbo until your order is confirmed delivered by both parties. Then the funds are released to the seller (minus a small commission). If there is a dispute, you can raise it with PlayerAuctions and they will investigate and the burden of proof is on the seller to verify a disputed delivery. If they can not, or if the delivery was to the wrong person, they will refund your money to you and nothing lost except the time it took for them to investigate. This really is the closest thing you can get to an actual storefront for this type of service. I have been using them for many, many, many years now. For multiple games. Never once was I investigated by the game itself for anything. It's all legit with super low risk.
Tip for consumers:
Use a secure payment method like Google Pay. The payment is instant and verified in minutes.

Thank you for the fantastic and kind review, Jeremy! We're delighted to read this and I'm glad to hear that you're having a grand time trading on the site. We hope you continue to enjoy your deals and we wish you all the best, Jeremy. :D Thanks again!
Had to resend my documents twice when they were verifying me. We also went beyond the 20 minute mark though I understand this isn't strictly something set in stone.
Despite that the order was correctly given, the charges were just right and I was able to confirm the order. Good service, just be prepared to spend a few more minutes.

Thank you so much for bearing with the process, Ben. We appreciate the kind review.
Do not BUY any account from the website called playerauctions because they're not care about you. I just got scam $60 on playerauctions and have paid another $5.99 for extended 1 year protection but still not help me. The seller take back the account i purchased from him and I send the support gave them the chat log between me and the seller. The seller clearly said "he took the account back" without any. Opened the dispute, send the support and no one care about it. Please stay away from this website and do not trust them if you don't want to lost any money like me. Here this is the order ID# *******. This website full of Scam seller and Bad customer Service. Your employee doesn't care about the business.
**If my review still appear on here it's mean playerauctions still not solved and Do not care about it, and pleased stay away from this scammer website**

Hi Bi,
I'm sorry for the inconvenience you had. Please note, however, that for a refund to be enacted, we still need evidence. This is explained in the disclaimer when purchasing after-sale protection for an order. For more details, please check: https://support.playerauctions.com/hc/en-us/articles/4402691743257
For this case, we never received any evidence, only a message expressing your desire to receive a refund. I'm afraid this won't be enough; we need sufficient information to process a refund.
There are 329 days on your after-sale protection and you may definitely contact us within that period if you're able to acquire more evidence. Please email support@playerauctions.zendesk.com for that.
Regards,
Richard
Registered on the site, made a purchase and that got my account immediately locked. After this they requested from me:
Copy of my ID,
Me holding my ID,
Copy of a recent bill issued to my name and address
Way too much information needed for simple digital currency transactions. I'm not sure if this is even legal in the EU. I have opened bank accounts and got loans from a bank with less personal information than this.
After few email their support just stopped responding. Thank god, I've purchased the item with PayPal so at least I'm opening a dispute there.
Tip for consumers:
Stay away from this site... even if it is the last option you have. You are better off without anything they are offering. Not worth the trouble... trust me.
Stay away! You have been warned!

Hello Ivan,
Thank you for letting us know about your issue with account modification. I completely understand how frustrated you are and I'd be glad to explain this to you. I sent a private message to you, please check on it.
Regards,
Krys
They don't have Paypal and verification can take about an hour.
That's about it though for the cons. The pros: they take care of orders swiftly and safely. They have a vast collection of offers and sellers, the choices are almost endless.
Most important of all, the deals I've done are legit. Really good using the site in spite of some setbacks.

Thanks a lot for the wonderful and detailed review, Jan. We really appreciate this!
Fast & Reliable! I have bought many various things throughout the playerauctions website. It ranges from gaming accounts to "in game services". Overall, this website, is legit and very reliable. I recommend anyone who is wanting to purchase anything video game related, try out this site! :)

Generally functional. If you want to pay with CC they insist on "vetting" you by asking you to send in a picture of the front and back (!) of your CC. There is no indication that there email is protected or safe. I asked if I could block out the signature on the card and they would not agree to that either. If you pay with Paypal you should be fine but the fact that they want to pull some scammer stunt on CC (hopefully naive not malicious) made me get off the site

Please stay away from PA at all cost. I submit the dispute and PA told me officially that if the seller do not response in 3 days, then the money will be automatically refunded. However, after three of no response by the seller, they closed the case and rule favor the seller. What a sad story.
Tip for consumers:
Please stay away from PA at all cost.

I received multiple messages from the game publisher directly saying that the account was reclaimed by the original owner, which is exactly what PlayerAuctions is asking for. One of them is attached here. The other ones contain confidential information about the seller. However, their team completely ignored the valid evidences.
Date of experience: August 15, 2018
I ALREADY include the messages sent by Steam saying that the account is reclaimed by the owner. It is clearly sufficient. I have to escalate it to paypal if you are continuously ignorant.
Everything went smoothly until the seller reclaimed the account with the historical credit card payment information immediately after the PayPal payment was processed. Luckily I purchased the insurance and have compelling evidence on my hand. Let's see if I am forced to go through the PayPal dispute process.

I bought an account from here, at first i thought this account was sold once and the seller tried to sell it one more time. After that, their manager told me the first sale was never completed. So i feel ok just for now.
Still, this website should work more getting buyer protected after the purchase.

Hello there, Weilun,
We've thoroughly checked your ticket and case, and we found out that the offer link you shared was never made into an order for your account. For more details, we've sent you a PM about it. Just in case it was made into an order, it will also not be accepted by our system since it will be detected as a duplicate. Could you possibly have mixed up the two orders?
And we absolutely abhor scammers; We make an active effort to ban them outright once we find out they're breaking our rules and policies.
In case you have other concerns or questions, please let us know, Weilun.
Best regards,
Richard
I like it and using it was easy...only downside is there is no Paypal for easier payment since that's what I use. Used Skrill and its the same but fees are higher and its less popular:-/ Hope you can add Paypal someday. But other than that the order was alright.
Date of experience: March 21, 2024
I'm sorry Neville, but PayPal was removed some time ago. I'm glad you were able to use another payment option. Thanks a lot for the kind feedback.
I bought a RS account using their site with their own insurance, however a week after buying the account it got reclaimed. I've sent multiple pieces of proof, however they just ignored me once I did.
Good to see you guys active on responding to reviews, but not responding to private messages.
Next time make a list of what your site considers ''proof'' as it keeps changing depending on the increased amount of pieces of proof that I send.

Hello Jan,
I checked on the order ID you provided but unfortunately, insurance for this has already expired last December 2019. As such, we can no longer offer refunds or replacements for this. On that same month and year, you filed a complaint for this and our team was unable to receive substantial and compelling evidence to warrant the claim made. As per our policy and process, your seller won the case.
I'm sorry if this is not the outcome you wanted, but disputes/cases hinge heavily on submitted evidence because that's where base the truth on claims made. If you have any further questions, please get in touch with support@playerauctions.zendesk.com or you may use the Q&A feature here at SiteJabber so I may assist you.
Best regards,
Richard
Do you want a company that doesn't respond to your emails on time?
Use playerauctions.
Do you want a company that denys your payment and questions your identity even when everything is there?
Use playerauctions
Do you want a company that searches your account information, identity, drivers license, credit card and debit numbers, over 10$?
Use playerauctions
Simply put, the product is good, but the support service is the worst I have ever used. They ignore you, refuse to answer questions, don't trust their customers at all and treat a $10 dollar purchase like you are buying house. Stay away, terrible system. The kind of company that makes you beyond stressed.

Hello there, Billy,
We'd like to sincerely apologize for your experience with PlayerAuctions. First off, I'd like to let you know that we have fully refunded your payment; I sent you a PM that includes the transaction ID for your reference. As for the verification, it is our policy to know our customers as a twofold process: 1) in principle, and 2) for your security. In the event that your account gets accessed by another person, we have information to fall back to that fully establishes the true owner of the account. Moreover, we deal with real world payment and we take our security for that very seriously --- I hope you will understand. As for the delays in replies, I sincerely apologize for that and we will do our best to improve our response time moving forward.
Please let us know if you have other questions and concerns, and we will be more than happy to help you.
Kind regards,
Richard

I really don't use these sites a lot, very rarely, but I took a plunge on it since it was harder to get gold due to a busy sked (dad duties + work). It worked out REALLY well and it was secure. The trader was also very pleasant to talk to. Quite surprised about the smooth process!

Thank you so much for choosing us and for this kind review, Jackson!
PlayerAuctions provides a simplistic, direct interface of which to provide a platform for both sellers and buyers with plenty of purchasing options, an expansive marketplace with unique arrays of virtual items, and incorporated reviews to assess each buyer's individual credibility. The site is updated frequently, and transactions are transparent while manageable. Product movement is quick, but replaced frequently. All in all, the website is a pleasure to use.

Thank you very much for the detailed and kind review for us, Han! We're delighted to read and know this. Much appreciated! :)
It has been great so far. There have been times where my disbursement is due on a day, and it doesn't take place, where it says queued for disbursement and then it takes place after a few days. Another thing is, i think the fees need to be lowered a bit for disbursement. I understand Playerauctions has to make some money as well, but 9.99% is a bit too much on top of 2% extra fees depending on ur payment type. Those are the only thing

Sorry for any inconvenience but the order ID was in fact: *******
There were two done on the same day, one was refunded and this is where I was getting confused.
Sorry for any inconvenience but as can be seen this still isn't resolved and I still am out of pocket and down an account. The name has been changed to exactly what it was before I bought it which seems more than coincidental and looking through the reviews this seems more than common.
Date of experience: December 18, 2017
Hi there, Michael,
No worries, that's perfectly fine. We were able to check your order again today, and there is still no dispute raised from your end. To officiate the case, kindly login at PlayerAuctions and under My Account, go to Orders and select order 2843859. In the order page, there should be a Dispute button. Click on that and follow through with the forms. You will be required to provide evidence supporting your claim, and rest assured that regardless of the outcome in your case, we will be here to provide support for you.
Sorry for the inconvenience, but this is our usual process in order to launch your dispute/complaint. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to write back to my PM. Have a good day, Michael.
Best regards,
Richard
I bought an account on May 1st this year, like so many other people here are saying a few months down the line the account was re-claimed, I tried to contact Blizzard but couldn't do anything as they were the old owner of the account.
Battletag changed back to what it was before, friends list not removed yet though, quite the coincidence that the name is precisely what it was before I changed it again however!
Stay away, this seems to be a very very common occurence!

I have some reservations about the payment. It's scary enough to send it but they may also reject it if it's not too clear for their taste.
Once I got past it, the service was thankfully spot on and I got what I paid for. I asked them and said I won't need to do that again and if its true, I might have another order lined up.
Date of experience: March 18, 2024
Thanks a lot for extending your patience with this, Terry; we absolutely your time in sending us the revisions. And yes, verification is only required once as long as there are no changes with the payment account.
This is really an exhausting experience... I have been trying for over 4 hours every possible way to buy from this website but there is no possible way to do it...
I literally tried everything. Neteller/Skrill don't give access to purchase from other websites (only if u have a visa card).
Gpay/Apple pay payments always reverted so I cannot do s**t.
Paymentwall is not allowed in my country and last but not least coinbase. They do not support my merchant because I use a revolut card...
PlayerAuctions support team, I would LOVE to spend and experience your purchase but could you give me some normal way to do it ffs? (I am sorry that I am being rude right now, but you will get me after spending straight 4 hours to actually BUY FROM YOU).
Date of experience: April 8, 2021
Hi there, Kagami,
Just to double-check, the username is KagamiAzura, right? Not AzuraKagami as provided in the reference?
As for the issue, I am extremely sorry for this hassle and your message is alright, you are not being rude. I checked the payment details and I can see why your payments were declined. Due to strict anti-fraud compliances in keeping customer information accurate and relevant with the payment account, we need the information between the PlayerAuctions account and payment account to exactly match. This includes real name and address/country. If you are using VPN or proxy, please disable that too as it will come into conflict with the declared address.
Once you sort out the difference with that, I am positive this can go through. Please also note that you may still be asked for verification documents; this is not irregular and you are not flagged if this happens, this is just the normal way we get to know our customers so we can establish their identities on our site as valid/legit users of the payment account attached to their PA account.
Sorry again for the hassle and I hope this information helps.
Sincerely,
Richard
PlayerAuctions runs a marketplace for buying and selling characters, virtual goods and virtual currency from massively multiplayer online games (MMOGs).
PlayerAuctions was started in 1999 by a group of gamers in the states. It was one of the first player to player marketplaces around, becoming a famous hub for earlier games such as Ultima, Diablo 2, and Everquest. It survived on a small scale for years and grew entirely organically through word of mouth, until PlayerAuctions was acquired by Itemmania in Korea.
Being rebuilt from the ground up with proprietary risk management systems, and investment meant to provide a stronger support network for gamers, PlayerAuctions was re-launched in 2008 with offices in Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Korea. Since that time, PlayerAuctions has supported hundreds of games and activities within the wider gaming industry.
At the end of 2013 underwent a structure change to a Product structure which has shifted development focus to an agile development system which resulted in many product expansions in 2014 including Gaming Accessories, CD Key Sales, Cosplay, Trading Cards, and Software Downloads. PlayerAuctions also opened a new support center in Manila 2014 to directly manage and control the quality of services rendered to its users.
We're happy to hear about this, Claire. Thanks for coming back to share this nice review for us. :)
