The company fraudulently requested my credit card number in order to verify my identity. After charging an amount to the card and having me enter that exact amount on the site, they still did not mark my identity as verified and allow me to use any payment methods other than a money order to use their services. It was advertised as saying if I went through the "identity verification", that I would be able to immediately use Paypal, credit cards, and other payment options for their services. Instead, they made the charge, verified my identity, and then kept these options locked. It is my complaint that this is fraudulent and merely a scam to get people to give them their credit card information. I have been a customer of this company for 18 months and have made several purchases with them without ever having to jump through this hoop in the past.

Even after a credit card has undergone vetting, our risk management and fraud prevention system may still detect some kind of pattern or activity which would require you to go through more secure payment channels.

Often times this restriction is a protective measure for you, our member, in order for us to prevent mis-use of your PA account, or payment information.

If you could supply me with your PA username, I would be happy to look into this in greater detail, and explain to you what may have happened with your account.

I bought a clash of clans account for $170.2 months later someone logs onto the account which logs me out, the next day the account was banned messaged the seller and he didn't reply so I submitted a dispute which player auctions sided with the seller despite the clear evidence that it was the sellers problem that got the account banned. Not happy at all

Tip for consumers:
If you’re going to use this site just know that you might get the account/item but for how long.

I bought an account on player auctions for league and I had a year protection plan. After about 6 months, the original owner filed a claim to get it back from league and took it back.
I got in contact with the owner and they even said he took it back and would help with compensation but Player Auctions has terrible customer service and ignored my proof of screenshots and emails after several attempts to get in contact for months.

It's a risk to buy anything from this site, of course. You may get a rare good seller but it's honestly not worth it and if anything happens, Player Auctions truly doesn't care.

On my long experience on playerauctions, it is not advisable to buy accounts on this site. Many scams except for accounts on merchants already well reputed. To purchase a currency, rarely the problems are, the more regular deliveries are late. For sale, it is clear that the costs are high, do your calculations before to know what you will actually receive. The fee is 9.99 % + 0.99 $ + 0.50 $ (for payment by Moneybookers). It also happened that I have been delays in receiving payments. They have always been resolved by contacting the online support despite a fairly long period. In summary playerauctions, is not a bad site but you have to expect some unexpected little from time to time.

Asking for a refund since August, still no refund despite the fact they have all evidences in hands. Don't trust them! I send them reminders per Email each week with all evidences each time, never get an answer.

I do not recommend this site to anyone. Not only that there are crazy prices so they also throw. Live chat with support does not work, support through the mail does not answer. I sold my account a week ago and did not receive anything.

Transactions from high-rated sellers were quick and easy. Sometimes the payments will fail, so I have had to keep track of pending transactions in my bank account. They disappeared on their own. I have no experience buying accounts or buying from low-rated sellers. I suggest to avoid both.

I have been waiting three days for a payment to be verified. I have now provided Player Auctions with the necessary proof in an effort to get the transaction moving forward, Still there seems to be issues with the information I provided. The payment has been transferred from my bank and I used Google pay which I have used several times before with no issues. Why now do I find myself struggling to get the transaction completed. This is by far the worst online purchase experience I have had. Please stay away and save yourselves the headache and frustration.

Already sent a charge to my bank account to verify that I was the owner and now they want me to send pictures of my ID, card, and a payment receipt on top of that in an online document. No thanks. Going overboard. Probably just going to cancel my purchase. Seems now that I've already been charged even though I have not submitted that info. And it will not let me cancel my order nor have I received the gold.

Hello there, Michael. The charge that you mentioned occurs when a member wants to use a new credit card on PlayerAuction as a form of verification. When our payment processor detects a new credit card, we will charge (less than $1) a small amount to your credit card. After that, please check your payment account online to get the value. That's a different verification from our payment verification.

We have the payment verification process for the safety of our buyers and sellers. We want to ensure that the payments we have received come from the account owners themselves. As a result, we may need to go through different verification steps depending on your order, payment method and account history. This request may be different from the previous order because orders are checked individually and independently.

Please note that from the time you check out, the payment will already get charged. If you ever, cancel this order. No worries, because refund will process soonest. Done about 20+ trades, 100% feedback with no problems never needed support interaction untill now, wanted to buy an account and my payment got denied through paypal for no reason whatsoever even tho i bought the same way dozens of times before, made a ticket but I just get automated answers like nothing is wrong so there is no way to contact anyone to help me apparently

Playerauctions themselves the support and their service is excellent. Although there are a 'Few' bad sellers who try to scam you. So watch someones reviews before buying generally what I do if his review is under 95% don't buy from him. :)

Bought an account Hearthstone with their "great insurance" (7$), 2 month later, the account was taken back and Player Auctions don't care & close my dispute. Their buyer protection is useless.
I lost 90$ thank you PlayerAuctions.

They have literally scammed me even with an insurance package. Like most of the reviews on here, you can see what i am talking about, They say they take up to 7 days but they took over 20 days to reply, could you believe it? Absolutely disgusting company. I bought two accounts from respected verified sellers, and both got reclaimed. Sad really.

Stay away from this awful criminals (PlayerAuctions staff).

Business History

PlayerAuctions was started in 1999 by a group of gamers in the states. It was one of the first player to player marketplaces around, becoming a famous hub for earlier games such as Ultima, Diablo 2, and Everquest. It survived on a small scale for years and grew entirely organically through word of mouth, until PlayerAuctions was acquired by Itemmania in Korea.

Being rebuilt from the ground up with proprietary risk management systems, and investment meant to provide a stronger support network for gamers, PlayerAuctions was re-launched in 2008 with offices in Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Korea. Since that time, PlayerAuctions has supported hundreds of games and activities within the wider gaming industry.

At the end of 2013 underwent a structure change to a Product structure which has shifted development focus to an agile development system which resulted in many product expansions in 2014 including Gaming Accessories, CD Key Sales, Cosplay, Trading Cards, and Software Downloads.
