“Just for talking with friends”

Rasher R.
5/24/24

I have a kinda weird experience with online dating because whatever service I face, I am not able to find a good partner for myself. Due to pof, I just understood that I don't need to seek for a partner rather than just for a friend who you can talk to during the whole day. I mean, it's way cooler to have a friend who you can reach out and discuss variety of things and maybe in future I will have relationships with this person. But I ain't wanna make guesses, let it be.

“DON'T BOTHER”

I've never encountered so many ignorant, stuck-up weird aggressive people on one site. The women are just rude and unpleasant, picky and arrogant. I've never seen so many women with obvious issues demand the man of their dreams as if they really think they deserve it The more unattractive they are, the more picky they are. Short, unattractive, low-IQ women expect to find someone tall, dark, and handsome. I've never seen so many foul-mouthed tattooed women in one place. They are just so unfeminine and have no class. They brag that they have no filter and swear a lot, like it's a good thing. I'll happily never use this site again.

I had a gentleman call me from pof.com and he sent me pictures and he was also was trying to get a credit card number so that he could send me some money. Mama didn't raise a fool. Watch out ladies watch out for this guy he's a scammer and there's plenty of other scammers on pof.com

Tip for consumers:
Don't trust anyone on this site ladies please don't give up personal information your address or anything else. Best thing you can do is meet someone in person. I have found scammers on every single dating site I've tried. Pray to God to send you a Christian gentleman and wait for him.

I couldn't believe the 'quality' of women, some shocked me, some revolted me, others made me feel sad for them. Mostly though they're 55 year olds dressed up as if they're 20 again, this one old hag stated on her profile "Nothing bald and short" then I saw HER! You'd think it was princess Diana but more like Countess Dracula, total embarrassment, oh and don't forget the tattoos! Plenty of Tats would be a better title for this hideous spectacle.
If you do see someone you like they're usually 200 miles away, I believe there are some decent people on there but very few, oh and I kept getting messaged by 70 yo's! I'm 52, I'm still getting over it, AVOID guys ffs!

The women on there are 35 years+, all without exception demanding the man of their dreams.

In return, the lucky man will get a woman way past her past who doesn't exercise, has other men's children, multiple tattoos and piercings, and an attitude problem
The worse they are, the more attitude they have. Truly baffling.
I didn't see any kindness or humility on Plenty of Fish. It was really a sewer

It's the bottom 20% of women demanding the top 10% of men. You don't need to be Albert Einstein to realise that's unrealistic, so little wonder it's always the same people you see on there month after month

The messages I received were from people with no social skills. I had women who claimed they were teachers message me and use text talk. They were unable to string a sentence together. The funniest one was a woman who said she was looking for a man who loved Disney. What are the chances of that?

Needless to say, I'm no longer on the site

Zero stars for what's on offer on pof

I'm not exaggerating when I say If you saw the POF women in real life, you wouldn't give them a second glance; in fact, you'd feel sorry for them. That's how low the quality is.

What makes it funny is that they are so damn picky online, all acting like the Queen of Sheeba when, quite frankly, they're terrible. They all look old, are out of shape, unattractive, and have no personality. There's no reason why why man should message them

I have no idea what the men are like but the women are undateable

I have been using Plenty of Fish (POF) for some time, and my experience has been overwhelmingly disappointing. My main issue is the high prevalence of fake profiles on the site. Despite my efforts to engage with profiles that initially seem promising, I have found that most are fraudulent.

One of the major concerns is that the people who approach me also appear to be fake. To protect myself, I routinely run image searches on various search engines, and unfortunately, many of the profiles that initially seemed genuine have turned out to be using stolen or misleading images. It's evident that POF does not adequately vet or verify its user base to prevent these types of scams.

As a result, over 95% of the profiles I have interacted with have been fake or misleading in some way. This issue has significantly undermined my confidence in the platform and led me to the decision to cancel my membership.

In summary, my experience with POF has been marred by the presence of numerous fake profiles and a lack of effective moderation to combat these issues. While I cannot recommend this site based on my personal experience, I hope that POF will take steps to improve its user verification process. In the meantime, I am choosing to explore other options.

I tried the 3 month plan and spent a lot of time on the app. Bottom line it was a big waste of time and energy. I discontinued the pay service and deleted the app and they had the balls to bill me again. I am disputing the charge on my card. Be very careful when signing up. I had 0 results and all they want is your $$$. PLUS, I found that they have a lot of fake accounts and ghosting. WORTHLESS CHEATS

Yikes. It's really bad and repetitive

Nobody can see likes on pof but the women all have to tell you they can't see them. Virtually every headline is moaning about it. It's so tedious. They can't comprehend that everyone else says exactly the same thing. They also like to tell you to ask rather than fill the profile out

Women normally want to meet a man and get married, then have children. The ones on POF have children with anyone it seems, then want to meet a man, settle down, and get married. They expect you to bring up another man's children and be happy about it. And it's your loss if you don't.

It's also full of 2's wanting 8's and 3's wanting 10's. If you don't believe me look at the photos of the women demanding Mr Right and see how entitled they are and look at what they offer in return

Most of the women are aggressive, rude, and have no clue how to hold a conversation.

I've deleted the app

I've never seen so many nose piercings over-sized glasses and angry people in my life. I think that tells you a lot of the quality on offer

There are lots of 'take me as I am', make me laugh, and 'looking for Mr. Right' headlines. The bio underneath is then blank or just full of complaining. This would be laughable if the women were smoking hot models, but when you see most are out of shape, look very old, and are unattractive, then it's embarrassing. I've no idea if they're lazy, uneducated, or just entitled, but it's insane.

The more unattractive the women are on POF, the less effort they make. Imagine thinking that's a winning move

You need a miracle to find even one normal, half attractive person who isn't bitter with the world. I wouldn't recommend this

Tip for consumers:
Horrible, just truly dreadful people all angry and lacking class

Having used POF a number of times over the past decade, it now appears to be a simple scam to get people to pay for using the services, quite a few of the profiles are fake and when reporting them they still remain on the site, Also since I use a TV monitor and have no webcam and refuse to put the app on my phone they won't allow me access because I don't have a selfie although they were happy enough to accept my payment without one and of course now they refuse to refund funds paid, Best advice is not to use at all since most of it is just as phony as their other site Match.com

I have been a nonpaid member of POF for a long time. I tried the get-more-contacts approach and it did result in anymore responses. At 6 ft tall, weight proportionate I am not perfect but I'm not that bad to look at and do things with either. I prefer the company of females that are near or at my height weight proportionate. I would get these matches either too far away or heavy drinkers or heavy smokers which I don't drink liquor or beer, and I don't smoke anything or take drugs that are not prescribed for me. Granted I'm sure the competition is tough but I think such a narrow response rate makes me glad I didn't waste my money any longer than I did. I did request a refund and was granted one as POF is definitely not worth paying for.

The service has to be free as no one should pay for it.

Instead of using their headline to tell you more about them most women just use it to complain how they can't see likes. It's so unimaginative and boring

I'm tired of reading how their children will always be the #1 in their life. If that's the case why did very few of them ever marry the child's father? What man wants to bring up another man's children?

Why is it they all want to settle down and find Mr Right now they're past their best?

The quality on offer is abysmal. I wouldn't bother

I swear 3/4 of the profiles I come across are fake. Very bad and almost incomprehensible English, stolen pics, random things chosen to fill out a profile. If you get a real man; they're so desperate and not what you're looking for.

It is so hard to find someone decent.

Plenty of Fish (POF) uses premium features that are not advertised on their website. Not until you become a paid subscriber that POF uses pop up messages to inform you that you can Boost your profile; utilize First contact; add Super Likes which all come at a price. I suspect POF throttles down my queries to only a limited search each time I log on. When I added premium features, the flood gates opened and I received profile visits, messages for a limited time. Without premium features, POF is a slow-moving website. Women can sign on for free.

Tip for consumers:
POF is not transparent in their advertising and marketing policies. They hide additional features from the public and these features come at a cost. In order to obtain traffic such as views to your profile, messages and likes - you must use the premium features.

POF will not refund your money after 3 days.

The website should be named plenty of single moms who love tattoos and behave in a very unladylike manner.
Or plenty of single moms who love to tell you they can't see likes and expect the man of their dreams, even though they're the stuff of nightmares.

There's no originality, and boy do they love to tell you how they can't see likes. If it's that much of an issue, why don't they pay?

Full of complaints delusion and drama. Not recommended

I had tried the Plenty Of Fish dating site, and it is a very poorly run site. They have alleged standards for what people are allowed to post on their website. As a member you are allowed to report profiles that violate the pof rules. For example, you are not allowed to post pictures of you in your underwear. Numerous people had posted such pictures, and so I used the reporting feature to let pof know of those violations. There were also couples with profiles on pof seeking adult themed things such as threesomes, and sex with guys with a large male organ while being watched. There were also members who put links in their profile for guys to go to sex websites. So I let pof know of those kinds of profiles. POF decided to delete my profile. My profile contained no offensive pictures, or offensive language. I never sent offensive emails either. Whoever is in charge of POF's quality control does a very poor job. POF is a terrible site, and would not classify it as a dating site.

My fellow men have ruined this site with their desperation and neediness to find a woman. Messaging every woman they see has rendered it a waste of time. They're so desperate for any woman that they bombard all the women no matter how hideous they are. That's why the women make no effort to be nice or ever message first.

That's why you see these below average women being really picky. They're mostly weird misfits with baggage. They're overweight yet use 'curvy' or 'plus size'. They're messed up yet use the phrase 'hard work ' yet expect someone tall dark and handsome.

Only good if you want to meet a woman that is truly hideous inside and out

**Don't waste your time**

The women don't even try to be nice. They go out of their way to be rude and unpleasant making lots of demands. This would be bad enough if they were good looking but they're all unattractive and unpleasant which makes it embarrassing. Why would I want to message anyone like that?
Laugh at loud at them all saying how there must be a spark or they won't reply. No self awareness at all

Also lots of profiles haven't even been filled out, why would I message someone if I don't know anything about them? Imagine thinking that putting "just ask" in every box is a good thing

The match group purchased this once successful website that had a early history of being a pioneer in online dating. It used to be a great website. When match purchased it they destroyed the site and turned it into a scam money making business that pays on people looking for relationships. The website is filled with scam profiles. This is a dangerous sight because there is no way to know if you were dealing with a real person or someone looking to harm you or steal your money. The site does absolutely nothing to protect its users. When you pay, you are paying to contact people that are most likely going to be fakes or bots or scammers. Paying for this site or any dating website is a mistake and you should never do this. Plenty of fish and nearly all of the match.com dating websites are dangerous and are there only to steal your money. They are not there to help you find a date and if you go online and pay them you are being foolish and setting yourself up not only to waste your money but you are also putting yourself at risk for being scammed. It's also terrible for your mental health as you will be frustrated. Many people complain about the quality of the daters / profiles on this and other dating sites. Unfortunately, they are not that many real people on these dating sites. Complaints are made about fake profiles and scam profiles that are not real. Unfortunately people don't realize this. This is bad for society and bad for dating in general. Please note that paying any money for any of these dating sites is only giving money to scammers and does absolutely nothing to increase your chance of meeting the person of your dreams. If you believe this you were going to be sadly disappointed not only that you can't meet somebody but that you have most likely been scammed and scammed by plenty of fish as they have stole your money. If you read this review and you continue to pay money to these dating sites you are contributing to this scamp. Don't come back and complain afterwards. I'm not saying that you won't be able to find someone on this site but it's going to be very difficult and frustrating and really bad for your mental health. Just don't pay. Paying gives you absolutely no increase chance of finding someone. I see so many people that give money away to these sites for no reason at all. Match.com or the match group is a scam company based on taking advantage of people and stealing money from people who are looking for love. Plenty of fish is one of their worst sites. The match group is a publicly traded company. Unfortunately dating sites are on regulated. They do not have to provide any service to you for your money that you give them. They do not have to provide any statistics or show you any proof that your money is helping you at all in your dating efforts. This is not like gambling and casinos where they are regulated and they are required to prove that they are paying out. Match.com and their dating sites only have to take your money and they do not have to give you anything in return. Complain and they will cancel your subscription and you will be out of your money. Be very careful because once you pay, you are on a continuous billing cycle which is almost impossible to stop. You'll have better chances buying a lot of lottery ticket. Use the money that you were paying for your dating sites and for this site and just buy lottery tickets instead. Don't believe any of the positive reviews. These companies including the match group and POF all pay for positive reviews. Scammers are encouraged to be on their site and there is a symbiotic relationship between the scammers and the dating sites. The scammers that populate POF and the other match group dating sites websites profiles are created through organized crime. They make millions and millions of dollars scamming people out of their money on these sites. The match group and specifically POF does absolutely nothing to protect those people that use their sites and do nothing to get rid of the scammers on their sites. Again this is dangerous and you should be aware that the people that you are talking to are most likely computer-generated bots or scammers sitting in a crowded sweat shop and another country somewhere like Russia or Africa and not real people. Never give money to anyone that you meet online no matter how close feelings you have for that person. I have personal experience seeing thousands of bots and scammer profiles and actually talking to many. I've never given money to anyone so I've never been scammed but emotionally, in the past I had let my guard down and this can also affect you negatively.Don't believe any of the positive reviews and look for the number of reviews the reviewer has under their profile. You'll see that a lot of positive reviews have one review in total period Believe the negative reviews. Look at the quality of the positive reviews and the quality of the negative reviews and use your common sense when reading reviews and never go on the overall score that a site has for a company because those overall scores are spurious. Use your common sense and dating and use your common sense when evaluating these sites. There is no trusted dating site on the internet. Use internet dating sites with caution and never pay.
Liking this review or giving it a helpful vote or a thank you keeps it relevant and ensures that it will be visible to help others. Please consider giving me at least a helpful vote. Thank you

Tip for consumers:
If I only help one person who decides not to pay for plenty of fish or any of these dating sites, I feel like I have done a great deed. I really hope everybody believes what I say and is not swayed by any of the fake review sites or fake reviews of this company.

Plenty of fish is basically a scam site. If you don't believe any of the reviews here then go to the Better Business Bureau review site for plenty of fish. The Better Business Bureau is also a big scam as they are paid by the companies that you are complaining about. That means that the Better Business Bureau is on the side of the companies like POF and not on your side. If they piss off POF then POF will stop paying for them. Nevertheless the BBB site is also full of negative reviews.
Here is what is very scary. You will see in the responses from POF that they actually state that they do not guarantee that you find a match and they do not guarantee that they will show you any real people and they do not guarantee you that people will respond to you. You will see where they say that they remove fake profiles but this is clearly not true. You will see that it is the responsibility of real people on the site to report fake profiles. You will see that people have challenged the recurring credit card bills with their credit card companies and have had the charges reversed. However at this point POF which is part of the match group will immediately delete your account and remove you from the site. They will retain your personal information and it will be impossible for you to sign up again and in the unbelievable event you want to pay for POF again, they will not allow you to. But this is not what is shocking. Match group owns multiple dating sites including Tinder hinge POF and OkCupid. Once you are banned on any of these sites and you cannot use any of their sites.
I'm sure you're saying that whoever was banned certainly deserved it and you can't blame a company for not allowing somebody who was doing something bad on their site to join any of their other sites and continue their bad behavior. But this is not true. In fact, I have been accidentally banned by POF on two occasions and when I have contacted POF they have admitted to their mistake and restated my account. However, if I did not complain to POF and get a satisfactory response then my accounts would have probably been banned on all of the other dating sites. It is very scary that the match group maintains all of your personal information after you leave the site or delete your profile. This is clearly a very scary company the match group and pof.

If you really want to be shocked then you can go to the Better Business Bureau complaint site and see all of the shocking responses from this company. People who's profiles that most likely have inadvertently banned or deleted for whatever reason are labeled and banned from all match group sites. Who knows what else match does with your personal information if all their different sites have access to your personal information.

You will also see how this scam organization gets your credit card information and continues to bill you unless you jump through a serious of Hoops to attempt to remove their automatic billing. There's no penalty for them to continue to bill you even if you have opted out or canceled. No harm comes to them from continuing to bill you. You have the responsibility and obligation to stop them from billing you and it is almost impossible. Look at the responses of this company and look at the complaints on the Better Business bureau. Most of these complaints are from people just like you and me and the response of this company screams that they are scam artists and con artists and thieves. Nowhere do you get the idea that this is a company interested in creating matches and love. The company's responses to negative reviews or complaints is that they are a company that offers you no guarantees of anything and that your payments are for basically nothing and they don't have to refund your money.
Actually you really don't have to go through all the research yourself because I've been researching this for a while and I can tell you as honestly as possible that the match group and POF are not a company that you want to trust with your credit card information. Never pay them. You may want to join their site because it seems like they are the only games in town but when you join just be very very cautious as almost all of the profiles you will be shown are either abandoned accounts or fakes. They take no responsibility to protect you from these fake accounts or to remove these fake accounts on their own from the site.
Why wouldn't they protect you and stop the fake accounts? Because without the fake accounts their site would be nearly completely empty and they need these fake accounts to try to entice you to pay them. They have a symbiotic relationship with the scammers. They need the scammers to fill up their site and the scammers need the dating sites so that they can have a place to find you and scam you.
If after reading this and you decide you still want to pay for the site and your scammed and upset then don't think you can go to the Better Business Bureau and complain and get any sort of resolution. You may not even get help from your credit card. I haven't complained to the Better Business Bureau but just reading the complaints and the responses is enough to frustrate me to never count on the Better Business Bureau for help. If I can stop just one person from getting scammed by paying any of these dating sites then I will feel I have done a good thing for society.

Tip for consumers:
There is no refund policy and you can see this on the POF terms of service and in their responses on Better Business Bureau complaints. Never pay for this company. Never pay for any of the match group dating sites. Your payment guarantees you nothing other than paying. If you end up due paying after reading this don't bother complaining to the Better Business Bureau is it will only frustrate you as much as going through and reading the complaints and responses will now.

It's a just conveyor belt of unmarried mother's who want to settle down now they've got multiple children with another man. They all say they can't see likes and their children will always come first. There's no originality on show, all the profiles are exactly alike. What a sad state of affairs

They are mostly out of shape, unattractive and unpleasant yet have ridiculously high standards when it comes to finding the man they want. They all want Mr Right /a spark/connection/Someone tall and good looking
It never occurs to them that Mr Right wouldn't want to date someone who has nothing to offer but baggage and attitude.

POF is toxic, you'd be better looking offline to find a decent woman. They don't exist online

Tip for consumers:
This site is proof that men will sleep with anything. Just look at the quality of the women who have children

Full of leftover brats with headlines of:

"Can't see likes message me"

"Could you be the one"

"Looking for me?"

"Send me a message I don't bite"

"Tall tatts and beards this way"

To name a few

A lot of the worst looking ones have message preferences on. They Should be happy to get any messages

Seen one profile of a very overweight woman who demanded a man be tall dark and handsome with a beard and tattoos and then it said "I'm no skinny girl or clear skinned so if that's not what your after jog on". You'd think if they have to type what mr perfect gets in return you'd realise you're being too picky but theyre so thick it doesn't cross their tiny minds.

Was last on here in 2019 and
5 minutes hadnt past where I kept seeing the same women on there from back then with the same smug photos up.

No man wants to date them that's why they are still on there

Very obvious they watch too much tv

Sums the site up

I will never use this dating site again EVER! It is full of drama, creepy people who have issues, lovebomb you when they haven't even met you, say they want to help you, but make you feel uncomfortable UM NO! Im shy, quiet, and will stay that way thanks to this creepy website of people who call or text you from 1-4am. Ill die single and alone thank you or have issues like not divorced even a year, put down their ex, and are barely sober from alcoholism. Um no thanks POF such be called Plenty of Losers!

I have been on/off POF for four years now and it is the worst! No one wants a serious relationship and its full of men who want to have a hookup, are unemployed, disabled, addicts, toxic kids, Exs, you name it and its full of scammers who claim to be one place only to be in Texas or Africa. Not a good site at all its worse than a bar and its full of creepy people who could be in prison or group state funded homes. I havent met one relationship or the men look worse or old enough to be my dad. No thanks they are the worst dating site Ill stay alone!
