Was curious about the site and out of pure curiosity purchased the 12 month 10 dollar a month subscription. To my surprise these A holes charged my card the full amount…Immediately started to ask for a refund. Stay tuned to see if I get the run around…
I visited the website recently in order to look at profiles of women that met my filters. I cancelled my account two years ago. I was amazed that about 95% of the profiles I was given were of the same losers I saw online two years ago. And I mean seriously stupid, broke, arrogant losers. All an informed consumer has to do is look at the ratings. Two-thirds are ONE star. The guy who runs the site gives women privileges that are not accorded men and doesn't respond if you write him an email saying you got a DEATH THREAT. He has an arbitrary age separation rule i. E., 15 years difference and you can't even write. Who elected this guy emperor anyhow? I had very good success on OkCupid, Match, and Zoosk. After 3 years on POF I had dates with two psychos that were on heavy head meds. Caveat emptor!
I stayed with plenty of fish for quite a while, even paying for extra membership just to give it a second and third chance. I believe there's a lot of false profiles on there or customers that were previously on there but have left the site and not had their profile removed. I would be happy with a refund but believing there's nothing that they will do about it I'll count my losses. And I would absolutely not recommend it to friends family or close acquaintances, I truly feel it's been a waste of money and they're cashing in on the fact that people want to find dates and relationships. With all that said I would like Plenty of Fish to remove my profile and no longer have it posted under false pretenses that people believe that they are interacting with me when I'm not truly on the site.
Don't spend a crazy amount of time fillnig out questions, many that they doin't need to know, such as your income, just to find out that you can't even see who sent you a "like" without spending about $22 a month. Then spend an hour trying to delete the damn account. Go to a bar, pick up a hooker, anything but POF!
I have used POF off and on for about a year. 95% of the guys I have met have done nothing but lie. Dated one guy who told me he was divorced for 4 months before finding out he was really married and still lived with his wife. Met another guy we seemed to have an awesome connection and after telling me he liked me and was excited to get to know me, this is after 2 great dates, he vanishes! Come to find out he has a GF. And if they aren't lying about being married they are looking for you to rescue them from their miserable marriages. Oh and I think someone else mentioned how they write these amazing profiles about wanting love and friendship and their "soul mate" and then you start talking with them and all the want is to hook up. The site is a damn joke.
I was on years back tried again and nothing has changed profiles contact you in several ways with likes fav's or messages and when you contact them you never get a reply. A short time later the profile disappears. When your membership gets close to expiring you become the most popular person on earth but all that contact you will not respond back, anything to get your dollar. Been on the site twice and have never met anyone waste of money NEVER AGAIN!
My profile was stolen by another woman. I am black and she is white. She kept my user name, the email address to the account and changed a few details including the picture. She replaced my profile picture with hers. I was on the site one minute and literally within 10 minutes I could not access my profile. She did not bother to change the profile summary. I submitted a complaint to POF 3 times but the scammer profile is still up. I am sure she had all the email exchanges that were in my account. That means she may have phone numbers. This is a mess. It does not appear that POF does anything when you report incidents.
I have been on this dating site for 3 years and more. Lots of men who want cyber sex, scammers and liars. I have been on different dating sites and they seem to be the same taking advantage of people through there credit card. I am deleting my profile as I speak. Be careful.
They have the age search restricted so that you can't search for people that are below a certain age compared to you and the top of the age range is always your own no matter what you set it to. They are on a mission to not have random hookups. Look it up online. They know people will want refunds so in their 1-800 message they tell you what to do for a refund straight off the bat.
If you are a woman seeking the old version of LOVE including honesty security and above all safety. Men on this site are predators of vulnerable women and free sex. Most do not upgrade shave or have clean shaven presentation. It's a DATING HACK for lazy self care people. Now messed up by human trafficking under cover cops and transgender.
Answer: Oh yes, they want you to upgrade and pay! But when you pay you will see these profiles who you liked or who liked you disappear. They were nothing but bait-and-switch. You gain nothing when you pay, it's the silliest way to spend money. Are you looking for hook up or relationship? I wanted a relationship and I was really frustrated by Pof. Eventually I found what I was looking for on https://j4l.com/402007 But I've lost nearly a year on Pof. Not to mention emotional drain and money!
Answer: I just deactivated my account. This site is a sewer. Do not pay anything for this site or any site. I searched for free on other site( even paid ones you can search for free) and I saw the same guys on most of the other sites as well. I'm gonna grow old alone unless luck steps in and maybe I'll meet my guy IRL.
Answer: Yes it is if it's anything like my phone having the app sometimes shows that you're online all the time
Answer: Delete AND contact the company. If you know who took your pictures be sure to include the name on the profile that your pictures were used on, so they can deal with that person. Once you have deleted your profile, everything is GONE. I have never had anybody use my pictures on any other sites. I'm no great beauty, that could be the reason, Still, once your profile is deleted, everything is gone.
Answer: You cannot do it from the mobile site. You need to use your search, example safari and look up pof desktop version and go to the help in the top left. It will walk you thru it, if I remember correctly. Good luck
Answer: First, write to POF and explain. Now, and I mean NOW call up your credit card company and tell them what happened. I am sure POF will not contact you. Make sure to use the word "unacceptable" when describing the consumer service to the CC company about POF. Keep all emails too. Please keep me posted. Thanks Ann B.
Answer: STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAMMING SITE! Any good you hear from or about it... DUH ITS THE SCAMMERS THAT WORK FOR EM. I been booted so many times due to unpopularity cuz i wont date trash so i get booted they keep your money they are garbage
Answer: Fake doesn't really describe them... more like downright liars!
Answer: Golden rule #1: Do onto others as you would have them do unto you Golden rule #2: Anything that sounds to good to be true, is not. Golden rule #3: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
Answer: POF is not free at all, you have to upgrade; become a paying member to be able to do anything interesting.
