I have no kids and no family. Found women who have 9 grandkids were interested in me, but found in my age bracket there were only 53 women without kids or grandkids. I would like everyone to know that i have been treated badly by the plentyoffish site. I have been a member on there for 2yrs trying to find my soulmate, then suddenly they block me from using the site, no giving me a valid reason. I am a honest, reliable and nice person who would not do any harm to anyone. They think i have been harassing someone on the site which is not true. I promise i wouldnt harass or make fun of them.so i am asking everyone not to use that site and use other dating sites like midsummers eve or freedating or smooch for instance.

I have been emailing POF as they have taken an incorrect amount. They have no customer service number and you can only contact by email. I have sent several emails explaining my situation and they haven't had the decency to respond. They took £81 and as soon as I received an email informing me of this, I tried to cancel the transaction. I got a message saying you cannot cancel within 24 hours - very suspicious. I cannot afford this as I am a single parent. Something has gone wrong and I didn't want this, I was only going to subscribe for 1 month. I cannot get any response from them. This in itself should make people wary of using the site. Most reputable companies will have a Customer Service number. I am now £81 worse off. I cancelled as soon as I could after the 24 hour period, but still no refund.

This company does not care about putting things right. They are unethical. I have had to ask my credit card company to look into this for me.

DO NOT use POF. Go on a site that will listen to genuine concerns and have a decent refund policy or cooling off policy.

I've had a profile for a few years now and use the site irregularly. In this time I've met one girl who was on the rebound from her boyfriend of many years who dumped her because he turned out to be gay, so she clearly just wanted to meet guys and mess around.
I've exchanged numbers with a number of other girls who never wanted to meet, so a complete waste of time.
I'd say because of the high volume of men even the mediocre girls can be very fussy with who they respond to.

I joined this site about five years ago, two years after the death of my wife. The site does not delete members who have stopped subscribing or not logged in for years. There are a very small percentage of active users and very few new subscribers that stay active after a couple of months. The "meet me" feature is computer generated to get free subscribers to "upgrade". I've met about 3 women a year on this site. 70% are asian women looking for a husband to stay in the US. Three were either scammers, or american women using different identities, all were in Florida. The rest were scorned from prior marriages and pigeon hole all ment to their ex-spouses habits, even if you have never been divorced.

After being a member for more than two years, same women are matched over, over, and over again, even if you have blocked them.

Geographical locations don't work at all. Women in my area are shown to be 20 miles away, women 80 miles away show up as 1-3 miles away.

None of the match criteria is considered. I am white, and all my matches are to black, asian, or hispanics.

In short, don't waste your time or money on this site, find an alternative way to meet that person you're looking for. POF is a waste of time, even if it is free, and a waste of money if your considering an upgrade.

I've been on POF for over five years, and I've noticed thousands of attractive, beautiful, educated, women who are all looking for one "good man." to be with. The problem with that common thread on all their profiles, is that they haven't found him in over five years I've noticed this by the thousands. (There were two really decent women, I knew who did find that "good man)

How is it, that after five years, all these want- to- settle- down- with- one good-- man- women can't find him.

Well after five years on POF, that's my opinion. And after seeing on the news enough high profile divorce settlements where the feminine gender has no problem turning into a three headed hydra, I've decided to forget about finding a good woman, and instead am going to try to find the Lost Dutchman: I'll have a better chance at finding that.

After few days in of creating a profile, I was getting over 200 messages a day. My account got hacked and I couldn't login for days and trying to contact support they had me on hold several calls and the calls would hang up after 5 min each time. They then called and said a dude hacked it but they can't delete it unless I have access. He then said I have to pay $15 to do something with my iTunes I'm like ARE YOU SERIOUS? So pretty much my identity is being used on POF and nothing pof can do to protect me.

There is nothing wrong with POF for the most part, but you must be your own dating site screening manager. One thing that sticks out is, not just misrepresentation, but misrepresentation to the point that many of the members are fraudulently representing who they really are. Therefore, initial screening of anyone who makes contact is paramount or one might find themselves going on a few very disappointing dates.

The most common and evident misrepresentations among the female members of POF are the categories of weight, smoking, alcohol use and employment status (if completed). I found that the self description of weight was often understated by 50 to 80 lbs, where they stated that they had a few extra pounds yet were horribly obese. Smoking was the second biggest misrepresentation. But POF itself is responsible for this. They even advise smokers to indicate that they are non-smoking if they are light smokers or are in that never-ending process of quitting. Watch for the drinking! In 100 percent of the time, the social drinkers I went out with could put me under the table in record time often consuming four to six drinks in a couple of hours on a first date. Finally there is employment status. In 100 percent of the time also, the women I first met significantly overstated their employment status and economic situation to the point that, if the meet-up turned into a relationship, she would have been totally financially dependant.

There are many good women on POF, but they seem to get lost with those who are so desperate for a man that they will say almost anything to get that first date!
