Late night shift at a hospital- ordered locally and it was smooth, app worked perfectly and came here faster than the stated time! Not sure why so many have had issues, I hope they keep up the good work!
After I placed an order for Rubio's, I deleted an order on October 13,2024. I was only partially credited the order according to my bank records. I was still showing an $6.37 for the delivery & tax they charge. I contacted the company on the morning of 10/16/24, because that is when I showed being partially credited on my bank account. I then contacted POSTMATES to get a FULL REFUND because I was only credited $18.46 instead of the FULL AMOUNT WHICH WAS $24.83. POSTMATES told me because it was more than 2 days after the order THEY COULD NOT ISSUE ME a REFUND. What THEIFS. So I was charged $6.37 for an order that I CANCELLED & NEVER GOT. Everyone BEWARE of POSTMATES SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES!
Terrible experience on many levels, reasons listed below:
1. I waited for delivery for 2 hours, despite the app telling me my food would arrive in 15 minutes. The estimate continued updating and saying my food would arrive in 3 minutes, even though the Postmates driver hadn't even picked up the food yet.
2. Called the restaurant, they said the food had been ready for over an hour, but the Postmates driver wasn't showing up.
3. I was unable to cancel the order without a $14 charge, even after my order was over an hour late.
4. Customer support took half an hour to call me, despite them saying they would call within 10 minutes.
5. After this experience, I was offered $5 in Postmates credit. I made it clear that $5 was not enough for the 2 hour ordeal, but they would not offer any more.
6. I drove to the restaurant that I ordered from (a lovely local family business) and they told me that Postmates hadn't given them any update on order status, and does not reimburse the merchants for wasted food, even when Postmates is the one making the mistake.
Postmates seems to have a limit of $5 reimbursement no matter how poor your customer experience is, and they are hurting merchants when their system fails to deliver. Don't use Postmates, support the restaurants with your patronage directly.
Pre-ordered lunch today, got a page, that appeared to be a confirmation that my order was placed, waited and waited, no lunch! Emailed to follow up on why no order, was advised they had no record of one being placed. Sent them a copy of my receipt, was advised, Sorry, that is not a confirmation of order, "with screenshot provided shows that your order was never placed. This order wasn't fully checked out. We apologize for the mix-up and we hope this helps." From my end, it appeared it was fully placed, it showed they receipt of what was charged and to what account. Not to mention that I tried to place an order yesterday and was told my card was invalid and I addressed that with them and they stated, there wasn't enough in the account to cover the pre-authorization. I said, unless the pre-authorization was more than $200 there should not have been a problem and got absolutely no response! Are you kidding me! Needless to say, now my lunch hour is over and I had no lunch! With just a gee, golly, I'm sorry! Will never use postmates again!
I wanted food from a Thai restaurant that only had delivery in my area via Postmates. I placed an order and there was an issue with what I received. I sent a message via postmates app and never received a response. I called the merchant and I was advised it was the way the order comes through from Postmates app. He told me part of the order did not show up and the other item had 2 different things listed and it was clear what was being requested. The merchant told me to reach out to postmates and request a refund and they will honor it. I opened a chat with postmates and explained what the issue was and Jeffrey informs me that due to high frequency of refunds I could not receive an adjustment. That was confusing because I spend at least $150 week order out and I haven't requested a refund so I inquired for dates and I was advised he couldn't release that information for security reasons. I advised that was a serious accusation and I wanted the number to corporate as well as the dates I requested refunds because the last and only other order I placed with postmates was April 2,2021. I asked again for corporate contact info and the dates I requested a refund and Jeffrey told me he had to assist customers that were waiting and left me in the chat after basically accusing me of getting something for nothing repeat offender.
We ordered food for 6 people... they charged us $23 service fee, plus delivery, plus a tip without authorization and NEVER PICKED UP OUR FOOD! Called customer service and they were RUDE! Never apologized and couldn't answer none of my questions. $95 charged to my bank card for 3 kids meals and 3 ADULT meals... From CRACJER BARREL should NOT be $95!
Long story short.
My order cost $31, after tax and this "service fee" i was charged, it brought it to $41. I had a coupon for free delivery, delivery fee was waived but there is still that service fee. Now they took $49 out of my account, because there is a transaction hold, where they charge you more and refund the extra $9 they took out.
I ordered my food, and had a delivery time for 9 pm, around 9 I get a call from the driver and he gave the phone to the restaurant because they had to confirm my order due to the horrible options on the app. Everything was confirmed from the restaurant, and the driver said he would be on his way shortly... another hour later at 10 I text the driver to see whats going on, beacuse i live not even 6 minutes from the resturant and dont understand how it could been taking a whole hour. He then replies that he ALMOST got in an accident and had to slam on the brakes so the food went everywhere and was no longer able to deliver. It took ME reaching out to the driver to finally get that status, he would have just never let me know.
So not only are the prices and options on the app horrible, or the ridiculous additional fees on the order... but the food was never brought to me.

Postmates delivery driver, Bryan, in the Pasadena/Altadena area is the worst. If you get this guy assigned to your order you should cancel immediately! Got the notification Bryan delivered our food and there was nothing outside. Contacted Bryan who said he must have delivered to the wrong address and then abruptly hung up on us and ghosted us! Not even a simple, "I messed up and I am sorry" from this little boy. No communication, NOTHING! Just screwed up and ran away like a child. I then spent the next 60 minutes trying to get Postmates to give me a refund. I said the driver delivered the food to the wrong place and they said they would refund me $40 of the $100 order. So I reiterated that we did not receive any of the food, and they asked for pictures to prove it! Um...okay. 30 minutes of this BS later, they refunded all of the order accept for the 25% tip we left Bryan! Yes, the tip for the driver that delivered to the wrong house then ghosted us. Then had to fight to get that refunded. Seriously, the ineptitude is so monumental it would almost be comical if it weren't so frustrating and disappointing! So Unprofessional all the way around! Do better, Bryan. Do better Postmates.
This is the 4th time my boyfriend and I have had Postmates cancel our order. They cancel with no follow up email and no explanation of why its canceled. Their service sucks, the food is cold or old we order drinks we dont get anything or the order is wrong all together. Their drivers are horrible and have no idea what direction they are supposed to go, and always have to be guided over the phone. What type of legitimate business doesn't have a way to personally contact them and be able to speak with a manager or someone in charge! You can't call any of their numbers because it redirects you to a webpage and their website is always down. I think Postmates is a scam a BIG scam and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone! My boyfriend has already canceled his account. Postmates has set things up perfectly for themselves to not have to be accountable for anything. We will now be spending our money on places like Grubhub and business that actually know what they are doing, and how to treat their customers! By the way I called that Waffle House and they were and are accepting orders. Way to lie Postmates!
I have been a loyal customer for almost a little over a year. I never had a problem with them until this year 2020. Every time I order my food either my whole order is not complete or the drivers are extremely late. So I am always complaining to them about my order and the only option they provide is either putting it on my credit for next order free OR refund. Of course I put refund because I hardly now order due to losing my job from COVID-19 Pandemic. Today I ordered from Dairy Queen and it shows on the map that driver is 6 mins away. It has been almost 2 hours that it shows on the map either 6 mins, then 1 min back to 6 mins. I texted the driver and no response. I called the driver and he sounded confused and said he will check his phone. I waited for another 30 minutes and then I get a text on the app that he delivered my order and to tip him. I immediately emailed the company and said they will not refund me my money because of my accounts of refund. After emailing them back to back me being very upset, all of a sudden I get an email back stating they will refund me my money back. That's not the point! The point is they need to check what type of drivers they are hiring to deliver customers orders! They are the worse company to do business with! They don't even deserve a ONE star either!
I recently ordered through Postmates, first and usually each time I order it takes multiple attempts to get a driver because it always says they are busy, I live off of 7th and Main St., one of the most populated areas in LA, and for downtown I'm surprised that there are usually only around 5 drivers in my area and it takes so long just to get the order picked up.
I just ordered, I waited for an hour thinking hat my order was early here and then got a text that says my order was cancelled, everyone is busy. I had guests over for a business dinner meeting and we made a large order, for the order to be accepted, all of us wait that long, only for it to be cancelled quit honestly is the worst food ordering experience I've ever had, on top of that it was 5 people waiting for their dinner.
Once an order is "accepted" your drivers shouldn't have the option at any point to cancel it, especially after you have customers waiting for an hour, ridiculous.
I'm never using this service again but please at least take this message to a manager that can improve your service.

Kept changing driver and said they were waiting on restaurant the better part of hour. They changed out drivers while waiting. Zaxbys stated they had no one waiting
Worst customer service. The app failed to make an order, displays error try again, on trying it makes 2 orders. Infact I didnt even use their app directly, and I was only placing an order from the google's order now button which took me to their damn stupid page
I called the restaurant, they said they understood it should be duplicate and will prepare one order only, but cannot cancel it and I should cancel it at my side.
1. There is no cancel button
2. Chat with postmates customer service, the lady says she needs to verify and call the restaurant. I reached the restaurant by then for the pickup
3. Postmates agent lady says she called restaurant and they prepared 2 orders
4. I am at the restaurant, they got no call, and i have one order ready in front of me and say the same to the agent, she keeps arguing that the restaurant made 2 orders and if I wish I can pick only one but they charge me for both. (one order's price was $50)
5. Argues for 10 mins that restaurant made 2 order without even checking with them and I could see all of this as I was right there.
WTH? POSTMATE fellows just quit your job and sit at home, are you being paid to lie and steal money? You **** Robbers

I'm really starting to dislike this company. WHY are you guys outsourcing?! My girlfriend and I just placed an order, and they came back that the item wasn't available. I called the restaurant, and they said they had plenty and the Postmates caller was hard to understand. He wasn't even reading the order correctly?! A native English speaker would never have an issue. WHAT'S WORSE is that idiot Postmates rep made it so when we tried to modify/add a new order that item he claimed wasn't available wasn't even able to be selected. When choosing the item it has a popup box stating the item is not available. I talked to the restaurant and they laughed, making fun of Postmates and the TERRIBLE service and the fact they had PLENTY of the item the moron marked as not available. They're even thinking of not working with Postmates any longer since they can't even understand the accents.
If you want to keep your reputation stick with US citizens ONLY for taking orders and making calls.
The restaurant person even told the caller to call us since his order didn't make sense. Instead, your caller was lazy, didn't call us and just marked our food as unavailable.

I ordered from here for the first time and I had 3 different dashers. The second one ATE my food! I didn't know he took my order the entire time until my 3rd dasher went to the restaurant and said the food was already gone like WTF?¿¿ so my card was charged 50$ for food I NEVER received and Postmates offers me 5$$$$ like are you serious man efffffff that

Placed an order at 7:15pm. When I realized ETA was 8:15pm, I immediately attempted to cancel order, and drive by to pick it up myself. I needed to be out of the house with food in hand, by 8:00pm. App would not allow me to cancel without incurring the FULL amount of the food purchase! I could understand if food was out for delivery, but it was at best 3 minutes after I placed the order that I wanted to cancel. DO NOT PLACE AN ORDER WITH POSTMATES unless you are absolutely sure you want it!
To start off we are in the middle of a pandemic. I ordered $50 worth of food, my last $50 at that. The system cancelled my order, and they already took my money out of my account. I called customer service & they told me the system automatically issued the refund and it'll take 1-3 business days to return in my account (which I understand). Anyway I asked them if they could credit me because I needed to feed my house hold now, not in 1-3 business days. They offered me $5 in credits and said they couldn't do anything higher. I hung up and called again and was able to get in touch with a supervisor named Harold S. I then let the supervisor know the situation, he offered me $10 in credits and said he couldn't go any higher, and the only thing he could tell me was "it was a system error" to why my order got canceled in the first place. He would not put me otp with someone higher who I could speak with. The tone in his voice sounded like he didn't care that I couldn't feed my household for a system error that had nothing to do with me.
Ug! Postmates is the worst! My company gave us a $20 card to buy lunch today. I stupidly ordered through postmates. I patiently waited for my order to be delivered. My phone rang but by the time I got to it, the call had ended. I tried calling back but got an automated recording saying that the call can't go through because it isn't the number that I have on my account. That is not true, I only have one phone number. The driver never knocked on my door or rang my doorbell. There is NO WAY to contact postmates on line about issues like this. I went outside and there was no one yet on postmates my order was marked as delivered! I was charged $20 for food I never received. Through a long winding way I was able to send an email to postmates and they responded by saying I didn't contact them the proper way and there are plenty or correct outlets on their website to contact them. That simply isn't true. I spent like 30 minutes clicking on every possible link on their website and never found a place to contact them. They also responded by saying my card wasn't charged since the driver marked it not delivered (although on postmates it shows it was marked as delivered) but the card definitely reflects charges and now I can't use that card to order from somewhere else.
I had two horrible experiences with Post Mates. One, the most terrifying one, this guy kept insisting I go meet him in his car on a side road. He was very insistent, claiming there was no parking although I could clearly see there was. At the end I didn't and he left with my food and canceled the order. What happens is when order is canceled, Postmates doesn't allow a review. So this guy, who I have no idea what his intentions were, had glaring reviews on the site. Because myself and anyone else who he has canceled the order, aren't allowed to leave reviews. Today a woman are plan and simple too lazy to park and claimed the construction that was happening inside the residents garage (that she wouldn't have access to anyway) was not allowing her to park on the 7 streets in front of my building where there's always parking. Again, I'm not able to leave her a review and she has 5 stars. I asked specifcally to leave a review and they say i can't unless the order is successful. That doesn't seem legal!

I ordered and the restaurant said they had never even received my order so my hubby had to make a COMPLETELY different order for which he paid, then Postmates went ahead and charged me anyway for food I never received! When I tried contacting Postmates they said they couldn't refund my money because it was a pickup order, they COMPLETELY ignored the fact that the restaurant NEVER received my order or the fact that I NEVER received my food! Complete rip-off and the biggest scam currently running!
There is supposed to be this promotion going on right now where if you order one time, you get two free deliveries the following day. If you order twice you get four free deliveries the following day. I was so excited about this because I'm trying to transition into veganism and there are several all vegan deli's that I've been wanting to try but they are so far from my job and the delivery price is high ($25). Well today I expected 4 free deliveries because I ordered twice yesterday and I received an email directly after that said I earned free deliveries. I decided to start this morning off with starbucks. Number one, I was still charged for the delivery. Also, my order totaled 16 dollars but I was charged 20. Third, the postmates delivery person called me and said that the prices are actually higher than what it says on the website so I asked them to cancel my order. I did receive a full refund but honestly Postmates is a bit too complicated for my taste. I wouldn't recommend it unless you have money to waste.
I do not want this automated response. Let's be clear. The night before I ordered starbucks to be delivered to a friend who has a daughter who was having a tough time with COVID and studying. Then a hour before it was due to be delivered Postmates cancelled the order. I redid the order with a do it "ASAP". The order was taken and then after the time that the food was to be delivered I saw that the icon was not moving. So I called Starbucks and they said they did not get an order under my name. They also told me that they have repeatedly had problems with customers calling and no order being placed when ordered with Postmates. Here is the kicker for your business. They told me to use Uber Eats because there are less problems. I cancelled my order. Now it was too late to give the gift... Thanks Postmates... Now you have the audacity to charge me the cancellation fee when you never placed the order and twice never showed up. Credit me the $3.99 immediately or I will cancel the Postmates app. I have also posted this email on various websites so people can see my frustration.

Whatever you do, I warn everyone to NEVER use postmates. Normally I never purchase food places to order online, ever. However, on my day off I decided to order something on Bj's. I honestly didn't know anything about "postmates" so as I was ordering online, my card went fraud when I was trying to purchase to place my order to go pick it up at the restaurant so as soon I arrived, it showed me that my order didn't go through. Postmates still charged me when I didn't get my order so I had tried calling them to give me my money back while I got an email saying it wasn't supposed to be charged but postmates still grab my money. As I called trying to get my money back, I'd felt odd when a man asked for my card information and he was shady trying to make it sound as if they aren't the ones who are responsible for taking your money when he tried to convinced me to go talk at the Bj's manager when clearly I got proved on my email that postmates who were the ones who still charged not the restaurant. He told me that they were gonna send me an email by tomorrow morning, completely bs I received nothing. I tried calling them again after freaking 2 hours of waiting in the line, they hanged up on me. Please be aware of postmates. They will take your money.
This review isn't a complaint about the outrageous service fee that doesn't even include the delivery fee, and the unusually high taxes. I ordered on the app, and about 40 minutes later it says there is a delay at the restaurant. Then an hour later it says the the restaurant cancelled my order. Then it says no driver available, as the reason. When I call the restaurant, they say my order has been ready and is just sitting there, since they spoke to me earlier when I called. WHAAAAAAT? The restaurant had no clue that I used Postmates, and said that the order was called in. I went to pick up my food, it was the items I ordered on the App. They had my name spelled wrong and a phone number that I never heard of. The restaurant said that they don't even do business with Postmates. So basically it appears that Postmates May be listing restaurants without their knowledge or permission, then impersonating the customer to call the order in. This company is COMPLETELY UNTRUSTWORTHY! Thank God I used Apple Pay. I wonder if they would have impersonated me to use my credit card info as well. Scary!

I Wish I Could Rate This Even Lower. I Recently Ordered Food And Was Charged Almost Thirty Dollars When My Order Was Only Around Twenty Dollars. I Wanted To Try To Give Them Another Chance Because The Food Actually Was Good ( I Guess Thats Thanks To Jets Pizza And Not Postmates) So I Scrolled Through The App And Placed And Order For McDonalds. I Then Canceled The Order Because Of The Small Cart Fee, (I Was Going To Add More Food To Avoid That) When I Was Notified That There Would Be No Charge Seeing As How My Delivery Wasnt Made And Hadnt Even Been Picked Up Yet. I Then Proceeded To Check My Statement As I Always Do When Ordering Food And I See A Charge From Postmates For Almost Sixty Dollars. Where Did This Come From, I Was Never Notified That I Would Be Charged That Much Money. I Will Never Use These Services Ever Again And I Will Make Sure I Tell Everyone I Know.
