This is a scam they bid on their own auctions making it impossible to win. Whois shows that this www.powerhousebids.com was registered through GoDaddy. Also there is no way to contact them at all complete scam.
I do have to say that this website is fun. I have tried other websites and I am always getting beat by other people. I can tell you that since there are not a lot of people on here I win. I know this will change but it is exciting to be able to win. I have won a couple gift cards so far and received them about 3 weeks after I won. Not to bad. Anyway I give this site like a 4.7 out of 5
Terrible customer service. They're site is always having technical difficulties, and I'm not even sure if I get what I won. It's been weeks and I still haven't heard. Also they're autobid is so messed up it doesn't even work. Don't autobid!
Initially I thought Powerhousebids.com was ok, then they started having problems and shutting down. Kept checking back as I had about 150 bids in my account. Finally they re-opened. The timers weren't always running smoothly but they went on running auctions all day. Just as I had my 3rd win(the daily limit) they shut it down again with a notice "all wins/bids will be returned to accounts within 24 hours. Unsure what that meant for me I kept checking back, and the items still showed as being won by me. I went ahead and paid the s/h fees. Finally about a couple weeks later they refunded s/h fees on 2 of the auctions, but no bids returned. The 3rd item which they didn't refund s/h on was a bidpack for 100 bids. So at the very least I am owed 100 bids plus the bids used on the PS3 and $250 Visa card I won, but they aren't honoring. After watching the website the past few weeks I don't even want to bid against the "people" that are bidding on there now, I've been on I'd say about 100 different Penny Auctions sites but I don't see a single familiar name on Powerhouse. On another forum, others actually suggested to the owner that he use shill bidding and bots, and in my opinion I think he finally followed their advice. I really want the PS3 and Visa card I won, but at the very least I'd take the cash equivalent of the bids I am owed. I think the part that angers me the most is being ignored. I've written countless times and can't even get the common courtesy of a response. Even chat ignores me. So yes, customer service is the worst. Steer clear!
